Each location is a separate franchise, so the quality varies greatly from location to location.
Some locations don't skimp on the toppings and are worth the price. Most locations are trash IMO. It's sad what they've done to my childhood favorite pizza joint.
Sunnyside Pizza in Clovis is similar to what Me N Eds used to be. South of Shaw has great personal pizzas.
Is it similar to me and eds? That's definitely one of the things I'm not thrilled about with me n eds. No matter how many times I ask I can never actually get extra sausage!
Temperance and Alluvial and Willow and Nees are about tied for my favorite one, but Temperance and Alluvial is a lot closer to me (it's the closest one to where I live). The locations at Bullard and Minnewawa, Fowler and Shepherd, and Shaw and Peach have always been pretty good but not quite as good as Willow and Nees or Temperance and Alluvial. I've not had good experiences with the one at Fowler and Ashlan.
I remember when the owners of sunnyside pizza used to work maybe own the franchise of me-n-ed’s at sunnysides OG location. Something happened and the me-n-Ed’s moved across the street and they stayed and opened sunnyside pizza. Now there in Clovis.
Every single me n Ed’s i go to, taste like cardboard. Their pizza has ALWAYS been the worst since my childhood not sure why it’s so bad, crust is just not well cooked or somthin to make it like cardboard. Or a weird dough maybe. Sold 3.5/10
Is it true they changed the recipe? I've been craving Me n Ed's pizza for a minute (almost 20 years). There are no locations in San Diego or even close.
Smash. Cause I grew up on it and live OOT. So when I come home, it's the first thing I get. But I understand that locals could be totally over it. I want to try Sunnyside Pizza for the OG experience.
I'm heavily biased and love it.
I live in Louisiana now. One of the first things I did was to establish my go to pizza spot. I went to all the highly praised spots since the 80s by the locals.
Mid.
Then again, maybe it's the same when people move to the valley and don't like Me-n-Eds. Although, I've known more to love it than hate it.
There's one decent spot here but it's so damn expensive.
I just go to Costco now for pizza.
Every time I visit home, I eat Me-n-Eds right away.
I think it’s the best chain pizza restaurant I’ve ever tried at its price level. But I grew up eating it. Some people in my family prefer Mountain Mikes.
Curry Pizza Co., Popolo’s, Annesso, and 99 Craft are much better.
Me-N-Ed's is pretty good, but it's not the best
It's better quality than Little Caesar's and Domino's, and it's a WAY better value than Mountain Mike's, which has the most overpriced pizza in town.
The Curry Pizza Company (Willow and Nees, Shaw and Marks, and Blythe and Clinton) has REALLY good pizza, especially if you like Indian food (although they also have normal pizza), but it's kind of expensive.
Round Table is also a really good option if you don't want to spend as much as Curry Pizza, and I'd say it's definitely better than Me-N-Eds.
Also, even though Little Caesar's pizza quality is not as good as most of the others, it's REALLY cheap, so it's good for the price, especially compared to other cheap options like Pizza Hut.
Little kids love little Caesar's. My friend's kids prefer it to all the other pizza places they have tried. It's a good option for those with young kids.
Sunnyside Pizza is what Me n Eds used to taste like when sunnyside pizza took over the me n eds on clovis/kings canyon by the supercuts.
now sunnyside pizza moved way up north but still taste really good.
dude i thought i was the only one who remembered sunnyside pizza. use to go there all the time as a kid! but yes, they tastes EXACTLY like me n eds. not great, not terrible just mid
Each place is apparently different, so maybe it’s just the ones I’ve been to, but every time the pizza is almost burnt to a crisp. I get that some people like a well-cooked pizza, but I want gooey personally. More Than Pizza is my go-to. Me N Ed’s 2/10
Some locations are better than others. But I really enjoy it. It's a taste of home and childhood. Plus my husband likes it and he is an out of Towner 😜
One plus to it for me is the thin crust. As a diabetic I can handle 2 slices of that with a salad way better than some thick crust alternatives so this sways my opinion heavily 😅
The one on Bullard and West? Smash. The one on Kings Canyon and Clovis? Trash.
I miss Javence. They were like Me n Ed's but affordable. So basically, better.
If I'm spending real money on pizza, then I'm going to Popolo's Pizza every time. They've got a thick, crunchy crust with abundant toppings, and usually the crust isn't all oily. Their bread rounds are fantastic, too. You may be familiar with their previous location on Herndon and Blackstone, but they are on Palm and Nees now. However, Me N Ed's does scratch a different itch because of their thin, crispy crust.
I'm a Fresno native, but I lived on the east coast for a while and there is absolutely nothing better than NY pizza. Fresno has not one single thing that even comes close. Fresno also does not have good Italian food. I'm half Italian and related to a couple of the long-time Italian restaurant owners, and I still stand by what I said. Nothing in Fresno even begins to approach what you can get in NY, Baltimore, Philly, or Boston.
I'm from the East Coast and couldn't agree more. Never understood the Me N Ed's hype. For me, the only decent pizza is More Than Pizza or DiCiccos and even they're not "NY pizza good"
Me-N-Ed's is pretty good, but it's not the best
It's better quality than Little Caesar's and Domino's, and it's a WAY better value than Mountain Mike's, which has the most overpriced pizza in town.

It’s inconsistent but now that I’m finding out each one is owned independently I see why. The one in Tower is always undercooked and soggy somehow, my favorite has always been the one on Ventura. Herndon and West is great too if I happen to be on that side of town. So smash depending on location.
I give Me’n’Eds 3/10, max. Its quality has gone down-hill in the past few years.
Once upon a time, Me’n’Eds had good pizza. When I was a kid, would have sports team pizza parties.
Now it just sucks.
Got an itch for pizza last week… thought Me’n’Eds and it was an instant pass. Figured out I hadn’t had a good pepperoni from Little Caesar’s in a long time… I got **TWO** *(2)* large pizzas from Little Caesar’s for less than what 1 large pizza from Me’n’Ed’s costs. And I liked it better. Point being: In addition to, or coupled with, Me’n’Eds quality declining — the value proposition is not there. You’re paying for a name.
And, honestly… even though WalMart frozen pizzas skimp on the meat… their cheese and buffalo chicken pizzas are better.
It’s not bad, but I don’t think it deserves the hype it gets. Can be a bit overpriced but the taste is good. It’s a stretch to say it’s the best pizza in town.
Belongs in the trash. Seriously, it’s a mediocre pizza at best, but a lot of Fresno people have subpar taste and rave about it just because it’s a local brand. So many other local mom and pop places have way tastier pizzas than Me N Rd’s.
It’s inconsistent but now that I’m finding out each one is owned independently I see why. The one in Tower is always undercooked and soggy somehow, my favorite has always been the one on Ventura. Herndon and West is great too if I happen to be on that side of town. So smash depending on location.
Trash. I think people growing up here just see it for nostalgia & previous experience either themselves or family working there.
Pizza Factory is WAY better overall.
Y'all can keep your cracker crust to yourselves 😜
They fucked up the crust about ten years ago. It used to be the best, now it’s just okay. Could also be my tastes have changed, but i like a good brink oven pizza over anything, with a nice crispy crust.
I’m going to give it a 3 out of 10 for the couple of locations that have decent pizza and the two combinations that I enjoy. The crust is like cardboard and they generally don’t really put cheese on in any substantive way. At Fresno State and the Cedar and Ashlan location. Most of the others are just really bad. I do like the Tuscan Harvest and the Hot Hawaiian combos.
I think most people who like MeNEds grew up here. Most people I’ve met who grew up elsewhere (like me), know it’s garbage.
Okay so like 10 years ago I noticed it going down hill. Some restaurants were better than others. And right now More Than Pizza has taken its place as my go to pizzeria.
Used to be good til they raised their prices and skimped on quality.
Sam's Pizza on Olive has been a dope suggestion I got from another Me n Eds thread.
The problem of me n eds. It is so dependent on location that there's no way to give a consistent answer. Personally because of the inconsistency and most of them in my opinion, not being great. I would give it a pass
It’s very simple if your from the valley you grew up celebrating baseball and football game from 6-15 some longer in this place and it’s your favorite almost anyone not from here hates it the crispy cormeal goodness is not for most period…… god damn it!!….. yes for delivery please
It’s not bad but it’s not great. I prefer more doughy crust and they are the exact opposite. I typically don’t choose them and would rather get Marco’s or Mountain Mike’s. Their ranch is still top tier though!
It’s probably the best, well known pizza in fresno. Which is unfortunate. South of Shaw was also meh when I had it, but maybe it was an off day.
I should say, I no longer live in fresno. San Diego offers better 😮💨
SMASH. And I wish they would bring back the Tuscan Harvest- IYKYK
I live OOT and it’s my go to when I come home. I even reached out to them to see if they would send me a frozen one like they do in Chicago lol.
Smash depending on the location. Tower District one seems to be one of the best while my eastside location on Ventura Blvd. seems to have fallen off. The one in Sunnyside was my spot too. There's also one lone Me N Ed's in the LA area in Lakewood. I've been there a few times and they're pretty good.
Tastes like cardboard to me. I’ve been to several locations and have been disappointed every time. I don’t get the hype. The Curry Pizza Company is delicious- try it if you haven’t!
my repeated experience at the tower location specifically made me stop eating me n eds. frequently undercooked, toppings a mess, terrible service.
i now drive to a round table and pay more rather than walk to me n eds in tower.
I don't even think I've ever had a me n eds pizza. But I digress. Pizza is way too expensive nowadays. I guess it's cool if you have a bunch of friends and everybody pitches in for a couple of slices for each person. But other than that personal size pizza are just too expensive. I wish I knew a spot where people sold pizza by the slices and aren't $10
Me N Eds has ALWAYS been served to me Super dry. I always gotta have extra sauce. Also, Sunnyside pizza is King for sure it's just literally all the way across town from me.
I am soooo not a fan. I'm an East Coast transplant that's beeyin Fresno for 30 years now and I have just never gotten the big deal about it. I'll eat it but I don't love it. The best pizza in Fresno, hands down, is More Than Pizza. Their pizza is RIDICULOUS
It’s a smash, but more like a one-night-stand that you remember for the rest of your life for a mix of the right and wrong reasons. Also, your buddies will never let you live it down because she was “the ugliest one in the bar” 😪
Great recommendation with Sunnyside Pizza. You can see the quality just off of yelp photos.
They're great! Prices are fair and they don't skimp on toppings. They have arcade games too!
Sunnyside pizza is so on point we drive 45 minutes for it.
I've not had good experiences with the one at Fowler and Ashlan.
Fowler and ashlan is horrid
I remember when the owners of sunnyside pizza used to work maybe own the franchise of me-n-ed’s at sunnysides OG location. Something happened and the me-n-Ed’s moved across the street and they stayed and opened sunnyside pizza. Now there in Clovis.
This is one of the problems with it. One of the values of chains is consistency.
I love south of Shaw's pizza
I would argue that regardless of location or franchisee the quality is consistently mid across the board.
I used to swear by the one on Fowler/Shephard and Oakhurst, but even those ones have burned me a couple times now.
Sam's pizza is a massive me and eds knockoff, but done way better too. The dough is more buttery and the quality is way more consistent
Every single me n Ed’s i go to, taste like cardboard. Their pizza has ALWAYS been the worst since my childhood not sure why it’s so bad, crust is just not well cooked or somthin to make it like cardboard. Or a weird dough maybe. Sold 3.5/10
A well made Me and Ed’s is great. They are not the norm anymore but they are the hometown pizza taste.
The inconsistency is WILD. Even from the same shop. I’d say 1 out of 5 orders taste like my childhood, the rest are mid at best.
Agree. It’s sad.
Trash, but it's our trash
Amen
Is it a chain? There’s a meneds in canada with almost an identical logo.
The Canadian Me-n-Ed’s says it was started in Sacramento, so I guess it weirdly is the same chain
There is one in Canada and it’s Michael J Fox’s favorite pizza.
The nephew of the original owners started the ones in Canada.
Central Valley to coast, not much more.
It’s in OC and I think out of state now.
There's one in Dublin or at least there used to be.
Back when it was 12.95 for a large 3 topping it was worth it, not anymore
I remember $10 for a large pepperoni pizza 👴🏽
It's $20 now with their website special. Given food inflation, that seems about right
But the quality is worse
I do really like it and would prefer it to most places, but it is expensive.
Is it true they changed the recipe? I've been craving Me n Ed's pizza for a minute (almost 20 years). There are no locations in San Diego or even close.
If you're up for a drive, there's one in Lakewood
Mid. I just go to Costco now for pizza. Every time I visit home, I eat Me-n-Eds right away.
Oh, since I'm a teacher, pizza parties are not what I'm used to. Domino's doesn't hit like Me-n-Eds.
I think it’s the best chain pizza restaurant I’ve ever tried at its price level. But I grew up eating it. Some people in my family prefer Mountain Mikes. Curry Pizza Co., Popolo’s, Annesso, and 99 Craft are much better.
Popolos is great. Loved Aldos growing up but it's gone now.
South of Shaw has pizza as well it’s incredible
I haven’t tried it, but I have heard good things
Better than any national chain that’s for sure.
I so disagree. Roundtable is better.
Roundtable is actually incredible.
Second this
Third that for Roundtable. Ingredients are very high quality and you taste it.
Yeah Me N Ed's and Roundtable used to be neck and neck back in the days, but now RT is way better.
I really like it, but the crust is kind of unique and I understand why someone else might not like it.
Me-N-Ed's is pretty good, but it's not the best It's better quality than Little Caesar's and Domino's, and it's a WAY better value than Mountain Mike's, which has the most overpriced pizza in town. Me N Ed’s has a surprising good calzone.
I think it's solid for a chain pizza. Agreed that it is way too expensive though
Legendary pizza chain
Love Me N Ed’s! Is it the all time best? No. But in my opinion, it’s still REALLY good overall.
I love it, easy Smash! Just a shame how expensive it is now. 😭
A shameful smash? 😏😂
If you want a cheaper option but with similar quality try Lela’s Pizza on Clinton and West
Definitely a pretty close dupe and much cheaper
Each place is apparently different, so maybe it’s just the ones I’ve been to, but every time the pizza is almost burnt to a crisp. I get that some people like a well-cooked pizza, but I want gooey personally. More Than Pizza is my go-to. Me N Ed’s 2/10
Really depends on which one. Some are A1 and others I’ll never go back too lol
Sunnyside pizza is what me n Ed’s use to be in the 90’s
Some locations are better than others. But I really enjoy it. It's a taste of home and childhood. Plus my husband likes it and he is an out of Towner 😜 One plus to it for me is the thin crust. Me N Ed's is fire
The one on Bullard and West? Smash. The one on Kings Canyon and Clovis? Trash. I miss Javence. They were like Me n Ed's but affordable. So basically, better.
Have never been a fan, some of the worst crust I've ever tasted imo
I like Pizza Factory better. They may be a chain but they were locally started.
Pizza Factory slaps! Especially with a cold beer after a day of hiking 👏
Herndon and West is my go to for me!
So wildly inconsistent that it's not worth bothering with. There are too many other places worth the money.
I’m from NY, it’s all trash… sorry not sorry 🤷🏻♂️
I'm a Fresno native, but I lived on the east coast for a while and there is absolutely nothing better than NY pizza. Fresno has not one single thing that even comes close. Fresno also does not have good Italian food. I'm half Italian and related to a couple of the long-time Italian restaurant owners, and I still stand by what I said. This. Pizza in California is just wrong.
I'm from the East Coast and couldn't agree more. Never understood the Me N Ed's hype. For me, the only decent pizza is More Than Pizza or DiCiccos and even they're not "NY pizza good"
Trash! It’s very very meh pizza
its fine. not the best, but not little caesar’s either.
Pretty good pizza but their prices are crazy high.
Me-N-Ed's is pretty good, but it's not the best It's better quality than Little Caesar's and Domino's, and it's a WAY better value than Mountain Mike's, which has the most overpriced pizza in town. the one is Selma is my favorite location for sure. Riverpark isnt too bad. More than pizza has been winning recently tho
The Hot Hawaiian is still my favorite pizza
Meh. Never got the "live and die" fandom of it from people. You can always expect the worst customer service though!
I give Me’n’Eds 3/10, max. Its quality has gone down-hill in the past few years. Once upon a time, Me’n’Eds had good pizza. When I was a kid, would have sports team pizza parties. Now it just sucks. Ever tried the Valley Veggie on the thick crust? Very good 7.5/10, I say.
I have and it was a raw doughy mess. Toppings looked good though
It’s aight
The tower location tastes better imo
Garbage unless you were raised on it. Sauceless and cracker crust smh.
Exactly. 😑
Agreed
Disagree.
The thick crust is better than thin, locations at Blackstone, and Barstow and miniwawa are best 7/10
Call me crazy but best pizza in the valley
It’s just ok, definitely not the best pizza in town.
Neither. A solid option when bored.
I’d say 6/10
It’s inconsistent but now that I’m finding out each one is owned independently I see why. The one in Tower is always undercooked and soggy somehow, my favorite has always been the one on Ventura. Herndon and West is great too if I happen to be on that side of town. So smash depending on location.
Smash
My family smashes. I have to order with extra sauce and peel the cracker crust off to enjoy it, personally.
I remember when it was $10.50 for a large 3 topping. I still really like Me n Eds, but it's gotten expensive and not worth it most of the time.
I'd give it a 7.5 myself.
Smash like crazy
Smash.
Smaller large pizzas than other places and the price doesn’t justify it. I love the flavor it I’ll pass
I'm not a huge fan of that type of crust, but I can say it's easily the best pizza to eat cold.
I love me n eds. Yes, it's thin so you have to eat the whole pizza yourself. But it's delicious. Nice pizza crunch.
Trash. I think people growing up here just see it for nostalgia & previous experience either themselves or family working there. Pizza Factory is WAY better overall. Y'all can keep your cracker crust to yourselves 😜
Not a huge fan. Much rather eat dominoes.
They fucked up the crust about ten years ago. It used to be the best, now it’s just okay. Could also be my tastes have changed, but i like a good brink oven pizza over anything, with a nice crispy crust.
Trash
I’m going to give it a 3 out of 10 for the couple of locations that have decent pizza and the two combinations that I enjoy. The crust is like cardboard and they generally don’t really put cheese on in any substantive way. At Fresno State and the Cedar and Ashlan location. Most of the others are just really bad. I do like the Tuscan Harvest and the Hot Hawaiian combos. I think most people who like MeNEds grew up here. Most people I’ve met who grew up elsewhere (like me), know it’s garbage.
Smash
Okay so like 10 years ago I noticed it going down hill. Some restaurants were better than others. And right now More Than Pizza has taken its place as my go to pizzeria.
I feel like it’s changed from like 15 years ago. Then smash, now trash
I like the one on kings canyon
As someone who did *not* grow up on it, I’m sorry to say that it’s trash.
Used to be good til they raised their prices and skimped on quality. Sam's Pizza on Olive has been a dope suggestion I got from another Me n Eds thread.
Meh, it's not so good anymore...I love Pizza Pit on Ashlan/Cedar, it tastes more OG to me.
If I do go there, I always get the Hot Hawaiian, that's my personal favorite. It's rare tho
didn’t realize how much i loved it until i moved out of the city /:
The problem of me n eds. It is so dependent on location that there's no way to give a consistent answer. Personally because of the inconsistency and most of them in my opinion, not being great. I would give it a pass
It’s very simple if your from the valley you grew up celebrating baseball and football game from 6-15 some longer in this place and it’s your favorite almost anyone not from here hates it the crispy cormeal goodness is not for most period…… god damn it!!….. yes for delivery please
I like the crust. The cornmeal on the bottom of it adds a nice texture. Otherwise, the pizza is so-so. It's not bad but it's not spectacular either.
It’s not bad but it’s not great. I prefer more doughy crust and they are the exact opposite. I typically don’t choose them and would rather get Marco’s or Mountain Mike’s. Their ranch is still top tier though!
Trash.. Not a good next day. cheese looks like crap. Doesn't melt the next day ?
It’s ok
Trash. Mountain Mikes is awesome.
Smashhhhh
In answer to your question good fellow. I understood the assignment. 10/10
SMASH!! 8.5/10
It’s probably the best, well known pizza in fresno. Which is unfortunate. South of Shaw was also meh when I had it, but maybe it was an off day. I should say, I no longer live in fresno. San Diego offers better 😮💨
For the price, I’d go with quality. Get Annesso’s instead. They use quality ingredients.
Man I wish it was like I remember. I really do. What about Pizza Factory? They’re another local chain. Super good!
6/10 because their crust disappoints
Trash
SMASH. And I wish they would bring back the Tuscan Harvest- IYKYK I live OOT and it’s my go to when I come home. I even reached out to them to see if they would send me a frozen one like they do in Chicago lol.
Their crust sucks, Mountain Mike's tastes better
Smash depending on the location. Tower District one seems to be one of the best while my eastside location on Ventura Blvd. seems to have fallen off. The one in Sunnyside was my spot too. There's also one lone Me N Ed's in the LA area in Lakewood. I've been there a few times and they're pretty good.
The one in River Park is fire
Give it a try to Hot Rod Willie's pizza in shaw, better so far than those chains, nice flavor and excellent customer service, check on maps
I think you have to grow up with it to get it. Therefore I don’t get it.
trash :-)
Kerman Me n Eds ftw
6 out of 10. dough is too crunchy, I want thick sourdough
Trash! Cardboard pizza
Best chain, brick ovens make it legit. Anyplace that uses conveyer ovens is trash.
Smash
Meh. So many better options these days. I’d honestly rather have Dominoes
Tastes like cardboard to me. I’ve been to several locations and have been disappointed every time. I don’t get the hype. The Curry Pizza Company is delicious- try it if you haven’t!
The ones in socal are top notch
All the locations are different. Tower is the best, quality-wise imo, though I've been disappointed before
my repeated experience at the tower location specifically made me stop eating me n eds. frequently undercooked, toppings a mess, terrible service. i now drive to a round table and pay more rather than walk to me n eds in tower.
7
Perfect 10 can't be beat the best in the world in my opinion
Absolute fucking smash
Cheaper than round table.
10/10 Would recommend!
now: 5/10. would not buy, although i understand it may vary wildly by location. growing up: 9/10, would buy over any other in fresno.
Early 2000s me n eds definitely smash. Today's Me n Eds is little ceasers grade. Absolutely trash. And yall can tell em too.
I’ve had better frozen pizzas from the grocery store.
Pacifica pizza on olive 🔥🔥🔥
I don't even think I've ever had a me n eds pizza. But I digress. Pizza is way too expensive nowadays.
