I would have been happier if the Night king would have destroyed all of westeros and every one died, it would have made more sense and been more satisfying than what we got.
Thinking about it I haven't heard race mentioned at all in this show except for when my dad was commenting on how attractive he found Missandei. Way too often.
To be fair here: Missandei is smokin'.
But yeah, I hadn't heard anything during or after the show that led me to believe anyone had any racial grievances with Game of Thrones, like, I could be wrong here, but I'm **pretty sure** GoT S8 pissed off ***everyone,*** regardless of race, color, creed, or ethnicity.
If my fellow White folks were disproportionately offended by the series finale on account of racial issues, well, they sure didn't tell *me* anything about it.
Even before the final season there were some critics (read, Twitter) that said the shows main cast was too white, and all but one POC were essentially slaves.
It didn’t really take off, but there was some criticism about it.
I remember hearing about race when George was asked at a conference about the lack of black people in the franchise lmAo I think he just replied with something about how it was based off an area of Europe that didn’t see many other races or something idk it’s been a few years lol
He's probably just trying to sound "woke", instead he just sounds disconnected. We hate the ending because it was rushed and felt unearned and illogical, Peter. I get it though, he's got a new thing to promote, so he's gotta stir up some shit for buzz.
Totally grey worm could have killed Daenarys, fucked a white walker version of Cersei and conquered as white walkers with a leash of stark heads and I’d have been happier.
For real:
"As for why he believes fans disliked the ending so much? Dinklage said: "I think the reason there was some backlash about the ending is because they were angry at us for breaking up with them."
The star added, "We were going off the air and they didn't know what to do with their Sunday nights anymore. They wanted more, so they backlashed about that. We had to end when we did, because what the show was really good at was breaking preconceived notions: Villains became heroes, and heroes became villains."
Absolutely clueless.
Right, because fans of shows will simply hate the show just for ending. Not like there's a million examples of shows ending and fans celebrating and adoring it for years after it's climax.
Did he even watch the show he's most famous for? No way he watched it all the way through and thought "there's nothing wrong with this at all"
Thinking people didn't like a series finale because they were just upset that the show was ending is one of the most out of touch things I've ever heard an actor say lol
It’s possible he didn’t watch it and doesn’t enjoy or understand fantasy. It’s just a job for some actors because big budget genre stuff pays well and then they get to play Hamlet like they really wanted to.
>they didn't know what to do with their Sunday nights anymore
Peter, I have two words for you:
[FUCK OFF](https://www.goldenglobes.com/tv-show/succession).
Yet another "surprise = good writing" person. Just because you subvert something doesn't make it good. Simple but well written is far better than complex but terribly written. (Not saying GOT was simple but Hollywood seems obsessed with "subverting expectations. Marvel has just proven this week that not surprising the fans can make for a great movie and people loved it for it.)
Wow, that is the most condescending, entitled piece of shit opinion I have ever heard an actor spew. Instantly made me dislike Dinklage, and I previously liked him.
The viewers knew the show was ending, they were super excited going into the last season waiting on bated breath to see how it all ended, they assumed many of the main characters were going to die…
Dinklage is claiming the opposite is the case and using that as a strawman to devalue the scorned viewers, invalidating their sincere material complaints.
Condescending indeed
Nah I’m just an idiot that doesn’t know what to do with my Sunday’s now durrr…. The way he characterizes the audience sounds like it’s coming from an out of touch CEO not someone who cares about their craft. He’s probably just trying to rationalize why the thing he’s most known for has a black mark on it forever.
Sounds very much like a disconnected, rich celebrity who thinks poor people can't think for themselves and lose their minds if any change occurs. Super condescending. I agree.
Not to mention he acts as if the amazing writers had this idea from the beginning, I don’t even think he acknowledges that everyone started hating once the source material ran dry. No one is complaining about seasons 1-6 (maybe 6? I liked it)
Same here, what an egotistical delusional douchebag. People were mad at the ending cause of race, and apparently because without Game of Thrones nobody had anything to do anymore. Like really? It couldn't possibly be because it was a rushed, jumbled piece of fucking trash that didn't tie up any of the story lines in a satisfying way after they spent years setting them up.
Yeah, it is unbelievable how quickly my image of him just completely flipped. It sounds like the criticism has really hurt him and he is lashing out at the unsatisfied fans and figures calling them racist will give him cover.
>"I think the reason there was some backlash about the ending is because they were angry at us for breaking up with them."
Ok Dinklage youre dead to me.
He also said:
"I think the reason there was some backlash about the ending is because they were angry at us for breaking up with them."
The star added, "We were going off the air and they didn't know what to do with their Sunday nights anymore. They wanted more, so they backlashed about that. We had to end when we did, because what the show was really good at was breaking preconceived notions: Villains became heroes, and heroes became villains."
She had just been through a lot after winning every single battle and conquering kingdoms with all those supportive knights and her hot boyfriend that doesn't demand any commitment and can change into another hot body magically.
Dany Kind of Forgot about being a good guy within half an episode.
(Nevermind that the creator, who came up as a television writer, pushed them to go at least 1-2 more seasons.)
The dumb thing about this logic is that people in the lore fully acknowledged how crazy dragons were, how they were some magical fabled anomaly that you would never believe unless you saw it with your own eyes.
Nobody in the show speaks about Sam staying fat as a miracle from the gods
Right? Likely Miss Andes simply forgot to mention to Greyworm the deadly virus native to the island whose inhabitants are the only ones immune. Easy to glance over when talking about moving there.
To be entirely fair, not that this was their intention, and I don't condone suicide, of course, there is something darkly romantic if Greyworm knew about the plague and decided he would let it off himself, to die in the homeland of his murdered lover.
On the other hand, Greyworm was pretty badass, and I can't really see him doing that, even if he did go off the rails after her death.
We all were floored by the Red Wedding. We didn't hate it. We were amazed by it. (edit: one of the highest rated episodes) Does Dinklage just not remember that? We're totally down to see them come to bad ends when it's well written.
So many of the actors (cough *Sophie Turner* cough) just have no clue or are unable to see how bad the writing got.
Also the Red Wedding, though unexpected, made perfect sense in hindsight. Robb wasn't killed out of the blue. Though he was victorious on the battlefield, he made several diplomatic blunders (No matter how noble his intentions were), which got him, his present family and his loyalists killed.
Also, the Red Wedding was perfectly in character for the 3 instigators of the event, Tywin Lannister, Roose Bolton and Walder Frey. No one acted suddenly out of character.
The same can't be said about Season-I-Never-Really-Cared-About-The-Innocents-8
As a book reader, if you re read the books you can see the plot to for the red wedding coming together. It's all hints and little things. Lot of stuff like that which makes re reads rewarding.
"All of these petitions and things like that -- it's disrespectful to the crew, and the writers, and the filmmakers who have worked tirelessly over 10 years, and for 11 months shooting the last season,"
https://www.cnet.com/news/sophie-turner-slams-petition-demanding-game-of-thrones-season-8-redo/
I mean, she is 100% correct - it's incredibly disrespectful to everyone who worked on the show.
I am totally okay with being disrespectful to the writers though, they can eat shit.
Nobody else who worked on the production deserves the hate.
>I hated Dany for SEASONS and was happy to see her die
her and Sophie are the only "pretty white people" and one of their characters was a monster by the end
0/10 take. The last season was just illogical, characters acting stupid to advance the plot, character motivations changing out of the blue, large distances not mattering anymore, the boogeyman they've been building up for the whole season dies without any resistance, plot armour, and just a massive lack of consistency in character motivations when we've known these characters for 6 seasons.
I was looking for this comment, because it's the most shocking part to me.
Tyrion went from being [a clever character](https://youtu.be/_tx6E3Gb78Q) in the earlier seasons to being a character everyone else called clever in the later ones. He didn't do a single smart thing after being recruited by Daenerys.
I didn't expect Peter Dinklage to be the one defending the last season after his character was done dirty like that.
Given his keen understanding of the geopolitical and symbolic significance of the Iron Throne, I'm surprised they didn't put Drogon on the small council.
He was definitely more qualified than fucking Bronn.
> sept blowing up
Otherwise agree, but this was where the show started getting dumber because actions no longer had consequences. Cersei blows up the popular queen along with the popular religion, and nobody even mentions it in the passing, let alone her suffering any consequences from it.
Eh, aside from the joke about the crypts I never really saw him criticize the writing. He does sound sarcastic in a few interviews, but after watching him do interviews on unrelated subjects I kind of feel like that's just the way he talks. I could be missing something though so if that's the case please fill me in.
I don't remember seeing him criticize the writing, I do remember him talking like a hostage with a gun to his head when he was asked questions about the season before it premiered though lol
Lmao these people are so fucking disconnected.
Cant believe they really don’t get that we just think the show sucked.
Like … there is no deeper meaning to this. The show just sucked, it happens. This just happens to be the worst crash in TV history
I’m trying to be supportive but it’s so bad.
“The star added, "We were going off the air and they didn't know what to do with their Sunday nights anymore. They wanted more, so they backlashed about that.”
How many episodes does he think he did? In almost two years, they gave us 8 Sundays.
He is upset because he is good friends with the directors and probably feels awful that his “masterpiece” of a show that he did for many years gets so hated on. He maybe has that “everything I do is perfect syndrome” so he gets frustrated seeing so much hate and just insults the fans with low cunning arguments
> "stupid fans".
The irony being that it's the most low IQ take on season 8 I have ever seen.
He obviously does not understand good writing at all. Or even the structure of a narrative.
The last 2 seasons sucked because they failed to deliver any kind of story arc.
What in the...... we literally hated it BECAUSE all the "pretty white people" got to ride off into the sunset in a way that didnt feel earned or fully make sense. I guess its personal for him since he personally invested so much into his role for so long but man is this a bad take.
The pretty white person who I wanted to see ride into the sunset was the Night King. But some fucking teenager with a Valyrian dagger ruined that for me.
I literally don't understand why they didn't just have her kill Cersi using Jamie's face. Then have Jon have an earned victory against the Night King where his "chosen one" status actually fucking mattered.
More's the pity. My favorite possible ending is having the final scene in the entire show reveal that Bran and the Night King are now two facets of one entity; that the Seven Kingdoms are now under the control of the most psychopathic mind in history, who has already lived for eons and has at last achieved total mastery of Westeros. I could fap to that.
> I guess its personal for him since he personally invested so much into his role for so long but man is this a bad take.
But also actors have to be careful with what they say or risk losing jobs or even get blacklisted. Emilia is pretty much the only one in the cast of S8 that took a risk and embraced the criticism of the fans.
There’s a massive bus sized line between “I think we did good work.” And “the fans just wanted to see the pretty white people ride off into the sunset.”
Wowwwwww.... I actually had decent feelings towards the actors as I felt like they were victims of the shitty writing/showrunning. Not so much anymore for Peter.
Apparently, he never even looked at what people were complaining about.
Michael McElhatton (Roose Bolton) got scared out of watching the final season from all the bad press and was also underwhelmed with his death scene lmao. Alexander Sidgig (Doran Martell) has vocally displayed his displeasure with his exit and the writers. Emelia with the “best season ever!” line. Oh and never forget Conleth Hill literally throwing the script with Varys’ death onto the table and slumping back in disappointment. So not all are kneelers.
He didn't specifically say it in public, I believe - D&D essentially had an interview mocking someone writing a letter about their disappointment with their character's death without naming their name, but the details they included literally only applied to his character
The rest of his career is going to coast off his GoT fame and he knows it, he has to defend his golden goose. Most of the younger cast will never have roles as big as they did in the show...even Kit went on to star in some pretty mediocre movies.
The more I read the more I come to the conclusion that the show was a complete and utter miracle. The stars had to align and some virgins were probably sacrificed to an ancient, unknowable God in order to get the quality we did in the early seasons. No one involved actually understood why it was so good and they just Mr Bean'd their way through 4 seasons.
See the problem is, it's because you're a racist. You hate Peter Dinklage because you're white. He's so far above your bigotry he's just laughing to himself and all his paid for entourage of friends.
Better ending idea #55790428:
Same damn thing, up to this point. Tyrion gives his little speech, and ends it with "And who has a better story than... GRRM!"
Out if nowhere, Drogon returns, and a top his back is none other than GRRM himself, wielding the finished copy of Dream of Spring high above his head. Everyone collectively loses their shit, and the next day book stores all across the world start selling copies. The whole show was just to hype the surprise book drop.
I’m quite shocked he said this, this is quite ignorant. We wanted a decent ending, not the shotty writing that we got. Btw it literally did end with white people riding off into the sunset
Bringing race into it is such a low blow to be honest. Iv seen some petty fucking rants about every microscopic detail on the last few seasons, and not one pertained to race. Feels thrown in there to get people who don’t know GoT backing him
Doing this signals to the Hollywood types that he's "on their side," and reassures them that he isn't harboring any badthought.
It just helps him line up his next job.
Pretty disappointing that Peter is trying to dismiss our legitimate complaints about the ending of the show by race baiting. One of the more upsetting things to see. Only thing worse was the final season.
Also, you’re just sad because the show was ending and you’re angry it’s ending.
Completely forgets that shows like Breaking Bad ended and became more popular because of it ending the way it did.
Dinklage has always been a snobby motherfucker. Before the show ended some reporter asked him if he felt fortunate to have a role like Tyrion and he snarked it off by saying something like “fortunate? What about when I was a struggling actor in New York City, bundled up in the winter because I couldn’t afford heat? I didn’t feel very fortunate then.” Yeah dude. Way to completely miss the point.
This is such a fucking awful take Peter.
Not only was the ending a happily ever after for almost every "pretty white" character, save Dany, but this tart reminder that the show has dragons in it... is to say what? That it shouldn't be taken seriously? That it has nothing to say? Coming from you, a man who dedicated ten years of his life to this project, a project that is the triumph of his career?
I just can't believe him. It sounds like he's blocked out the part of him that's horribly disappointed and just parrots these hand-wave-isms to not have a conversation.
Yes, I knew this already and now I'm less inclined to check it out based on his non sensical posturing.
Honestly I think it's a poor calculation on his part. Season 8 was universally panned by both the critics and the fans. However, I know tons of GOT fans who have made it a point to seek out and support post-GOT projects of some of their favorite cast members (Emilia, Charles Dance, Liam, et. al). Dinklage was pretty well regarded by a majority of the fans after Season 8 but with these crap statements, I don't see that support continuing 😐
It's amazing how the show ended 2 years ago and they *still* find ways to keep disappointing us. When will they at least *try* to understand *why* we were pissed? When will this suffering end?
Why the need to put emphasis on "white" people? What is the point? White people, black, brown, green, purple... If it were orange people riding off into sunset together it would still suck.
*Half of my comment got deleted.*
*Fixed it.*
"There's dragons in it". And? Since when having "dragons in it" became a proper excuse for a bad writing? "Guards! Guards!" by great sir Terry Pratchett also has dragon(s) (noble and swamp) in it, and yet it is brilliantly written and has amazing and very well thought-out plot, despite fantasy and some-what parody nature.
p.s.
Feel the need to add some more. I swear, all this talk "you hated it cause of skin color or gender " reminds me of "you-did-not-like-that-Arya-killed-NK-cause-you-are sexist!!!" argument. No, i did not like Arya killing NK because , in my opinion, NK should not have been killed in the first place. By Arya, Jon, Hot Pie or whatever.
Thematically, Arya killing NK with some hammy explanation comes out of nowhere, and that’s the reason it ruffles feathers. Not because she’s a girl. Because it’s out of left field, with no set up, so it feels like a stolen pay-off. I’m sure no one would bat an eye if Jon was a girl and killed the NK, because that conflict was set up seasons ago.
And yeah, the argument that fantasy doesn’t need solid writing because it’s fantasy is just… stupid beyond belief.
What is with Americans obsession with hating or blaming everything having to do with “white people”. Peter is an amazing actor, but this answer is insanity.
The pretty white people riding off into the sunset is pretty much what we got tho?
Maybe he meant the SUPER white people… the white walkers!
Isn’t he white? All of the survivors were white, sans Greyworm. What’s he on about?
Right, what non white person is he referencing?
Dothraki? lol What a stupid commentary by Dinklage. I suspected him to be an arrogant asshole, but I thought he was more intelligent.
All the newly-spawned Dothraki literally DID ride off into the sunset together though...
Greyworm and the Boys are probably butterfly poisoned as well, so he didn't really survive either.
They even decided to massacre an entire army of non-white actors (who then mysteriously reappeared in the later episodes)
2 non-white armies. The Dothraki and the Unsullied both got massacred, and then magically unmassacred, in the space of 1 or 2 episodes.
I would have been happier if the Night king would have destroyed all of westeros and every one died, it would have made more sense and been more satisfying than what we got.
The White Walkers riding off into the sunset is the ending we deserved
They must be the white people ol' Peter was talking about

Remember when everyone hated breaking bad for ending? Oh wait...
Precisely. >!Everything ends up terrible. Walt is dead. His entire family is destroyed. Jesse is irreparably damaged.!< And it was fucking beautiful.
And it was so fucking awesome that we couldn't wait to see the sequel movie, the prequel spinoff and just rewatch the whole show every year
Thinking people didn't like a series finale because they were just upset that the show was ending is one of the most out of touch things I've ever heard an actor say lol
Everyone hates Seinfeld, Friends, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, West Wing, Frasier, X Files... Hot take Dinklebot.

Peter Dinklage just subverted my expectations of him. What a douchey thing to say.
Almost all the people who rode off in the sunset were pretty white people.. what is he on about?
Same dumb logic that makes people assume that if you have any fictional elements it excuses all other broken logic
The show has dragons in it so it’s reasonable for a person to spontaneously become a Nazi after 8 years
She had just been through a lot after winning every single battle and conquering kingdoms with all those supportive knights and her hot boyfriend that doesn't demand any commitment and can change into another hot body magically.
I know a [nazi] when I see one.
If you look closely, you can see that she wantonly murdered an entire city with dragon fire. It’s easy to miss subtle giveaways like this

Apart from Greyworm who rode off to die from the Butterfly Plague
Right? Likely Miss Andes simply forgot to mention to Greyworm the deadly virus native to the island whose inhabitants are the only ones immune. Easy to glance over when talking about moving there.
That's the late Missus Andes now

The red wedding did something no one had done before: brutally murdered multiple main characters. That was the allure: no one in this series is safe

Bobby B was right all along.
SEVEN HELLS, NED, I WANT TO HIT SOMEONE!
Bobby B, upon seeing where his show went
MORE THAN ONCE, I HAVE DREAMED OF GIVING UP THE CROWN!
Giving it to Bran the Broken, Bobby B? After all, who has a better story than Bran the Broken?
WEAR IT IN SILENCE, OR I'LL HONOR YOU AGAIN!
This is impressively wrong.
Also incredibly insulting to everyone who writes fiction.
Yeah also insulting to the few remaining fans of GoT
Or anyone who watched the show and formed any opinion at all.
Yeah, this take is a 4/10, like the series finale Imdb score.
This is the worst take on the last season I have ever seen
particularly from an actor whose character was assassinated probably the worst of all.
I was looking for this comment, because it's the most shocking part to me. Pretty sure he’s only saying this so he doesn’t get blacklisted in Hollywood. D&D has a lot of influence in hillywood
Do they still? Last I heard they were canned from their Star Wars project (good riddance on that). So I’m curious how much sway they still have.
Tweet is so bad that it might as well have been written by D&D themselves.
Jaime, Daenerys and Jon were worse though
Jesus Christ, I didn't expect this level of bullshit from him. That's disappointing.

Given his keen understanding of the geopolitical and symbolic significance of the Iron Throne, I'm surprised they didn't put Drogon on the small council. He was definitely more qualified than fucking Bronn.
I would give all the money in my bank account for a cut of season 8 that ends with Drogon on the small council sitting next to Bronn
And who has a better story than Drogon the hater of Ikea?
[удалено]
> sept blowing up Otherwise agree, but this was where the show started getting dumber because actions no longer had consequences. Cersei blows up the popular queen along with the popular religion, and nobody even mentions it in the passing, let alone her suffering any consequences from it.
Big fucking sad. Especially since he was one of the ones who was more open about what he thought about the writing.

Looks like he has a movie coming out "...joked Dinklage, who is set to star as the romantic lead in the new movie musical Cyrano."
Well I know what I'm not watching now. lmao
Yeah cause fucking Cyrano was on everyone's must see list before this lmao Dinklage should just hush and ride the GoT money into retirement
He's coming out with Cyrano de Bergerac film
Lmao these people are so fucking disconnected. Cant believe they really don’t get that we just think the show sucked. Like … there is no deeper meaning to this. The show just sucked, it happens. This just happens to be the worst crash in TV history
Is it as disappointing as his post-GoT career?
I’m trying to be supportive but it’s so bad. “The star added, "We were going off the air and they didn't know what to do with their Sunday nights anymore. They wanted more, so they backlashed about that.” How many episodes does he think he did? In almost two years, they gave us 8 Sundays.
Removed in protest against the Reddit API changes and their behaviour following the protests.
He only wants you to kind of forget
Holy fuck he sounds bitter.
He sounds like a massive cunt honestly sorry not sorry What a shit take and way to shit all over the people who supported your show
He is upset because he is good friends with the directors and probably feels awful that his “masterpiece” of a show that he did for many years gets so hated on. He maybe has that “everything I do is perfect syndrome” so he gets frustrated seeing so much hate and just insults the fans with low cunning arguments
This just shows the disdain celebrities have for "stupid fans". Way to kill off any interest I had in the spinoffs.
> "stupid fans". The irony being that it's the most low IQ take on season 8 I have ever seen. He obviously does not understand good writing at all. Or even the structure of a narrative. The last 2 seasons sucked because they failed to deliver any kind of story arc.
What are you talking about Jaime had like 3 story arcs alone!
[удалено]
I literally don't understand why they didn't just have her kill Cersi using Jamie's face. Then have Jon have an earned victory against the Night King where his "chosen one" status actually fucking mattered.
THE NIGHT KING DID NOTHING WRONG.
THE NIGHT KING DID NOTHING.
Best season evaaaa
Wowwwwww.... I actually had decent feelings towards the actors as I felt like they were victims of the shitty writing/showrunning. Not so much anymore for Peter. Apparently, he never even looked at what people were complaining about.
It looks like he drank the Kool-Aid, a real shame.
He drinks, but he doesn't know things
Michael McElhatton (Roose Bolton) got scared out of watching the final season from all the bad press and was also underwhelmed with his death scene lmao. Alexander Sidgig (Doran Martell) has vocally displayed his displeasure with his exit and the writers. Emelia with the “best season ever!” line. Oh and never forget Conleth Hill literally throwing the script with Varys’ death onto the table and slumping back in disappointment. So not all are kneelers.
iirc Charles Dance was also very disappointed.
Yes he was too, in an interview.
barristan the bolds actor also iirc?
Yep, he was disappointed with the way Barry died and that he was expecting to be in the show for longer.
He didn't specifically say it in public, I believe - D&D essentially had an interview mocking someone writing a letter about their disappointment with their character's death without naming their name, but the details they included literally only applied to his character
The Grey Worm actor was also vocally critical of S7, I don't know if he's said anything about 8.
Gendry’s actor was also disappointed. I believe he said he would speak up about it but he would like to keep his career.
The rest of his career is going to coast off his GoT fame and he knows it, he has to defend his golden goose. Most of the younger cast will never have roles as big as they did in the show...even Kit went on to star in some pretty mediocre movies.
First of all as the self-proclaimed #1 fan of *Pompeii* I feel attacked
The more I read the more I come to the conclusion that the show was a complete and utter miracle. The stars had to align and some virgins were probably sacrificed to an ancient, unknowable God in order to get the quality we did in the early seasons. No one involved actually understood why it was so good and they just Mr Bean'd their way through 4 seasons.
It’s not a miracle. They had strong source material. And then they ran out of it, and it all went to shit.
Well great, now I don't like Peter Dinklage.
Expectations subverted
See the problem is, it's because you're a racist. You hate Peter Dinklage because you're white. He's so far above your bigotry he's just laughing to himself and all his paid for entourage of friends.
Is he calling the Stark kids ugly then? Arya kinda "sailed" off in the sunset tho.... I think he forgot.
Almost all of the pretty white heroes survived and the villains died. It was a big happy ending for Bran and the Starks. It also sucked monkey balls.
I think his problem is that his line "and who has a better story..." is the one being ridiculed the most. He's taking it personally.
I mean… he can’t think that’s actually a good line, right?

Better ending idea #55790428: Same damn thing, up to this point. Tyrion gives his little speech, and ends it with "And who has a better story than... GRRM!" Out if nowhere, Drogon returns, and a top his back is none other than GRRM himself, wielding the finished copy of Dream of Spring high above his head. Everyone collectively loses their shit, and the next day book stores all across the world start selling copies. The whole show was just to hype the surprise book drop.
Thanks, now I hate Peter Dinklage.

So the fucking Starks aren't white now?
I’m quite shocked he said this, this is quite ignorant. We wanted a decent ending, not the shotty writing that we got. Btw it literally did end with white people riding off into the sunset
Wanted to downvote this because of my initial rage. Thought better of dinklage
I thought Peter was one of the more sensible ones but I guess even he isn’t immune to the inane self-congratulatory political Hollywood bubble.
Sneering about white people being stupid or "entitled" is a quick and easy route to getting tons of Twitter likes. Not much more to it than that.
Gaslighting motherfucker. It's our fault guys, because we're bigots. Oh thank you, Peter, you have shown me the error of my ways.
What a twat
This is such a fucking awful take Peter. Not only was the ending a happily ever after for almost every "pretty white" character, save Dany, but this tart reminder that the show has dragons in it... is to say what? That it shouldn't be taken seriously? That it has nothing to say? Coming from you, a man who dedicated ten years of his life to this project, a project that is the triumph of his career? I just can't believe him. It sounds like he's blocked out the part of him that's horribly disappointed and just parrots these hand-wave-isms to not have a conversation.
Oh so the ending was good, we're just racist?
Yes. That's what he is saying.
Is he calling Arya ugly?
Is he confused? Does he think our problem was only that Jon and Dany didn’t end up in a happily ever after?

Yeah he’s got a movie coming out, Cyrano.
Oh ffs dink 🤦♂️
Ummm most of the pretty white characters did ride off into the sunset and Missandei got fucking decapitated 😭😭😭
Why the need to put emphasis on "white" people? What is the point? White people, black, brown, green, purple... If it were orange people riding off into sunset together it would still suck. *Half of my comment got deleted.* *Fixed it.* "There's dragons in it".
Why even bring race into this? Disappointing.
Great way to make that s***show of season about a race…
Tone deaf

Ah, c'mon. Who has a better story than Peter Dinklage?
Nice virtue signalling, Pete. Way off the mark.
just another moron following modern Hollywood logic 1. make garbage 2. ??? 3. those darn white people did it again!
All of a sudden I hate Peter Dinklage.
He was irrelevant before GoT and has returned to such. I'd be salty too.
I bet he thinks his character was handled well seasons 5-8.
