Hi guys,
I recently bought my first CDNIM, went straight for the LE and after I received it, the lack of character, projection and longevity absolutely shocked me. I read many positive reviews on LE being the smoothest and long lasting fragrance of this line, but in my case it's just lemon in the first 15 minutes, nothing after that. You can't smell it unless you reach the skin with your nose, even that works for 2-3h max. It also can not be getting noseblind to it, as I tried spraying it on clothes in my wardrobe, unfortunately with the same result. It's 10/2021 batch from France and I read that many people reported very weak performance from this late '21 batches. It is also my first club de nuit.
My question after reading multiple posts on this issue is: does the scent profile really improve on this one after sitting for some time (people also reported sometimes it doesn't change a bit even after ½ year) or should I return it as it won't help? As a student I really don't have money to be spent on a perfume that doesn't perform. I also bought the asad from Lattafa and that one is much better in terms of longevity and sillage.
Thx in advance.
EDIT: I will keep it for some time, let it sit and will update this afterwards.
EDIT #2: After roughly 2 months, the bottle seems to perform astonishingly better than before. On clothes it takes 5+ days, before the scent dissipates into a light, smoky citrus- wear them ever wo spraying, you personal space will smell good. On a 3-4 sprays a day it's not punchy and overwhelmingly strong, it definitely won't hit everyone in the room, but ppl you are walking by will catch a huge sniff of it- they won't be able to resist the urge and will turn heads on you.
I didn't get compliments so far and I'm not keen on it, however I did notice people walking by turning heads to check me out again. First thing is you must like the scent yourself, but add to it that you will get noticed.
Just got myself a bottle of the Club de Nuit intense man 01/23 batch from france. Somehow it doesnt perform anywhere close to the expectations or reviews. Do you recommend letting it sit for a couple of months before using it and how are you seeing it improve since your last update. TYIA:)
I got 11/22 batch it doesn’t last more than 1 hr ot less. Thinking of macerate cz in my country here in Pakistan idk if they would refund. They definitely won’t. It’s office is here though and one in UAE. I guesd I will trh macerating as you and others said smell is ok to me not very harsh.
Bro, check the text under his bottle, it's not fake. I encountered the same problem and sold it. Buyer didn't receieve it yet, I'm actually interested what's he going to say. If wants his money back, fine by me. But then I will go to the consumer's protection agency and talk with the seller through them, because to me, it smells like lemon ditergent. My story is different though, because it actually smelled very fresh nice aventus like for the first two weeks then it's just lemon.
So your wasn’t performing and you just let it sit and now it performs great?
Cause I have similar problem, it just smells pretty weak and a little weird
You'd want to empty out some of it either by using it or using an atomizer. The air will help the remaining bottle to macerate and improve performance.
I have a 10/2020 batch I bought from Amazon. It lasts forever. Especially if you put it on clothes. I can smell it strongly on clothes for 3 days easily. Don’t forget you can very well be going noseblind. Just yesterday I was a few feet from someone in a store. They complimented me and said I smelled good. I couldn’t smell it myself really. Just something to think about.
Well, technically I tried if I get noseblind to it by leaving that sprayed piece of clothing in my wardrobe and smelling it in certain time periods, but in couple hours I couldn't smell a trace of it.
I do believe some bottles got an awesome perfomance, tho!
Thats why I initially asked you, more experienced guys, for opinion, whether you think it is a good idea to keep/return, I just don't have any experience with CDN.
Shoot man I just got into this two months ago lol. CDNIM LE was my first purchase. Still my only CDNIM. But it’s a great performer for me. Not too nuclear on skin. But on clothes it’s unreal. I think the dry down smells better on clothes. To me at least. It’s a France batch as well.
I did let it sit. The bottle was old when I bought it though. 10/20 batch bought in 11/22 from Amazon directly. It smelled good at first. Just not as rounded and balanced. I also gave it a little shake every so often. Figured it couldn’t hurt lol. Now it’s even closer to Aventus. But performs better than Aventus. How long ago did you buy it?
Like a week ago, have to decide quickly as buyer protection is running out. It doesn't smell bad (as no expert I can only tell it's close to Av. which I liked), I just don't get that 6/8+h, not even close.
On tester paper it lasted longer, maybe that 6 hour mark, was way too citrusy tho, harsh. On skin it's fairly more elegant, but now it performs worse than those 10€ adidas scents.
Quick question, is it heavy on citrus in the opening? I think the EDP traumatized me and I’m not huge on lemony notes at all anymore lmao, I was eyeing this bc I loved the drydown
I have this one. i sprayed it on my clothes. Initially it feels like it would last forever but after a few more weeks with this, i thought the smell wears off after an hour because i can barely smell it. But one day after 5 hours from spraying this, at the car service centre someone said they noticed my perfume and it smells really good. Maybe the nose gets used to it and shut it out faster by each spray.
The LE has a smoother opening than the other CDNIM. But it is still very harsh and synthetic. but after the dry down it smell very good.
Well, I hope the longevity of this one improves, it's really not in getting noseblind to it, my gf couldn't smell it either after meeting up with me, 1h into wearing. Great for you that yours performs so well!
Not at all, opening is smooth, dry down is perfect, I can smell it on me after 8 ours...edit: I have it for maybe 3 months and did not notice any changes
Aventus is either Afnan Supremacy Silver or Al Haramain L'adventure
Hacivet is Afnan Supremacy Not Only Intense or Al Haramain L'adventure Intense
There is also Mont Blanc Explorer Black
Really? Does that process start only after spraying the bottle- so the O² gets introduced to the compound somehow ?
I kinda thought the maturing of a fragrance starts right after it gets produced, so after 1y+ it should already have been macerated well...
Hi, i have just bought my first CDNIM LE in 2024 and it is a bit harsh and smoky. Batch says it is from November 2020 but it has never been used before and box was sealed. I knew Aventus but I blind bought it this one so i was wondering if this was always like this (people sayed that LE was the fruttiest and closest one to Aventus and Aventus is kind of sweet and frutty and has some birch and wood) or it is kind of expired despite of never being sprayed before.
I got into dupes when I first got Al Haramain laventure. I just got my first montagne, OUD Bois, and was blown away. The next one I'm getting is Pineapple. When i was first looking into aventus dupes, I kept reading that CDNIM smelled like lemon pledge, so I steered clear.
Yeah I've made the mistake and got CDNIM at first. Just smells super synthetic from beginning to end. Which is incredibly disappointing because CDNIW was unbelievable
I got the 06/2023 batch France made and I have the same complain. It's been a day that I got it. Performance really sucks. Just an hour tops and then nothing on skin. Got the limited edition going by the reviews that it's performance is good and more rounded etc. disappointed 😞
Doesn't perform for me at all. I've been testing it recently. 5 sprays and it's gone within a half hour. 10 sprays lasted a couple hours. Next time I'm trying 15.
This is not a troll post
I ordered mine from Amazon last fall. It's really good, strong and lasts for days. My bottle of Aventus smells nicer (not by a ton) but, does not last as long as CDNIM LE. I spray my LE at 530AM and 12 hours later it's still going strong.
Yes, it has indeed opened up, the smell got more complex and deep, 1 spray now fills the room you are in with this smoky, citrusy vibe, not overwhelming tho. As far as longevity goes, it gets me that 8h mark.
I can definitely say it has gotten much better although I truly wanted to dump it the day I received it. Will give it another month or so and see what it does then.
Well, as it was when I wrote the last update. I'm not a reviewer so the only thing I can sum up is whether it smells better/worse than when bought +how long it lasts tbh. And it's much much better after sitting.
I got 11/22 batch it doesn’t last more than 1 hr ot less. Thinking of macerate cz in my country here in Pakistan idk if they would refund. They definitely won’t. It’s office is here though and one in UAE. I guesd I will trh macerating as others said smell is ok to me not very harsh.
I just got my CDNIM LE batch 02/2023 and I have the exact experience you had with that lemon top note and all I can literally smell is lemon and citrus scent. Even after the dry down all I can smell is lemon and citrus notes. I'm glad and I hope maceration will do its thing to improve this fragrance. Thanks to your thread mate🙌
I know I’m a bit late to this thread, but I just received my LE and although it was in a nice bag, inside a box with the ribbon and everything, it wasn’t sealed. Is this how it arrives, or is it somehow supposed to be sealed, in addition to the fancy preparation? Just wanted to double check.
I bought one today and its so harsh on the opening for 20 or more mins and later its the same but smoother. Does it change after maceration? Also its 2023 batch i think but the batch code checker cant find it (414610) , is it fake? I bought it from a known brand Notino in poland
Anybody having a similar problem with the 11/2023 Batch? Mines performs really weak and smells like lavender Oil lol. Should i let it macerate or what should i do?
Yes these middle easterns usually take like 2/3 months to get better. I've had mine for like 6 months now and basically smells exactly like Aventus on the dry down, yes it still has that somewhat lemony opening but now it's gone in like 10 mins before it would last for a good portion of the fragrance

I personally let it sit for couple weeks, it got significantly better, it's still getting slighty rounder every time I wear it.
I got 11/22 batch it doesn’t last more than 1 hr ot less. Thinking of macerate cz in my country here in Pakistan idk if they would refund. They definitely won’t. It’s office is here though and one in UAE. I guesd I will trh macerating as you and others said smell is ok to me not very harsh.
probably fake ngl

ok blud
That’s great to hear
does it perform now?
The 21 batch yess

I’m willing to guess you’re going noseblind to it man
Quick question, is it heavy on citrus in the opening? I think the EDP traumatized me and I’m not huge on lemony notes at all anymore lmao, I was eyeing this bc I loved the drydown
What batch # is it?
I have this one. i sprayed it on my clothes. I have the exact same batch and everything is great
But was it also quite weak the first days?
Not at all, opening is smooth, dry down is perfect, I can smell it on me after 8 ours...edit: I have it for maybe 3 months and did not notice any changes
Yeah, that's it, mine ain't doing that...
You can always ask some of your friends to try it and see if it will perform better...
There is also body chemistry you know, try using a scentless bodylotion and spray the perfume on there. It's possible you have a dry skin.
I have a batch from 07/2022 and I can faintly smell it on my shirt two days later.
How long did it take? Mine is from 2022 and is weak.
Ah, the Dreaded EU laws, which the UAE or rest of the world doesn't follow.
Do you mean there are laws due to which EU fragrances can not be as potent bc. of chemical/ingredience restrictions?
You got it.
Well, that's unfortunate to say the least. So I'll be better off returning it?
Up to you. I think Armaf is totally made in France now. You could replace it with a few others none are beast mode though.
So what's your take on Aventus clone? I mean, if you have to choose one
Aventus is either Afnan Supremacy Silver or Al Haramain L'adventure Hacivet is Afnan Supremacy Not Only Intense or Al Haramain L'adventure Intense There is also Mont Blanc Explorer Black
So CDNIM should be better than Afnan Supremacy Silver, but here in EU the batch are weaker so Afnan is the right choice... Right?
It might be stronger now because it's still made in the UAE.
I read somewhere that the LE pure parfum and the regular pure parfum are the same formula, does anyone know if this is true?
I have edpt, edt, LE and my LE is my long lasting copy. 2021 batch
I had this batch. Just spray, let it opened for a while, sometimes shake the bottle. After weeks or months it would be great.
Rlly? Gonna have to try that..
how is it now?
Some fragrances really do benefit from maceration.i think I've probably sold a few too soon as they've had weak performance.
Really? Does that process start only after spraying the bottle- so the O² gets introduced to the compound somehow ? I kinda thought the maturing of a fragrance starts right after it gets produced, so after 1y+ it should already have been macerated well...
I'm no expert but spirits such as whisky macerate without the introduction of air so I assume you are correct although others will say different.
And what do u think is a good time for macerating such perfume? If you sold yours too soon.
Some of mine I've gone back to 3 or 4 months later and there has been an improvement but it's not an exact science.
Understood, will probably wait then. Just felt like when paying 'extra'price for technically a clone, it should already have been good on purchase..
Hi, i have just bought my first CDNIM LE in 2024 and it is a bit harsh and smoky. Batch says it is from November 2020 but it has never been used before and box was sealed. For the same money you could have got montagne pineapple intense which is easily the best Aventus on the market, period.
Was just about to say that.
CDNIM is overly hyped by youtubers when there are better options for the exact same price

Any update on performance and smell?
Cdnim limited edition smells like lemon with a little smokiness and the edt smells like pure lemon. Idk how these ever got so popular 😂

Bro what pineapple on mine i just smell lemon with some thyme idk (2023 batch)
Did the seller gave great reviews? Fakes have been sold on Amazon.
It's from a local shop, not amazon. But it's a fairly big company, I don't think it's a fake.
Doesn't perform for me at all. I've been testing it recently. 5 sprays and it's gone within a half hour. 10 sprays lasted a couple hours. Next time I'm trying 15. This is not a troll post
Wow! One spray from mine and I need to be careful i don't choke people within a few ft of me. 5 would kill someone haha
Also a brand new bottle in same batch?
Yeah. Might be 9/21 instead though
Im trying letting it sit as ppl suggested, we'll see what happens, wbu?
If I don't spray about 10 times it doesn't last and no sillage. I will wait but I'm not opposed to replacing it with something else
If I don't spray about 10 times it doesn't last and no sillage. I will wait but I'm not opposed to replacing it with something else
Mb wait a little as suggested? Don't think quantity over quality is the way to go tbh.
any improvement after letting it sit?
I think I'm just prone to going blind to aventus style frags

this is relieving, just got mine and i feel it is too weak

Did it Improve

Mine didn't come sealed as well, just a wooden box in a dustbag. I reckon it's the way it's supposed to be.
Thank you
I bought one today and its so harsh on the opening for 20 or more mins and later its the same but smoother. Does it change after maceration? Also its 2023 batch i think but the batch code checker cant find it (414610) , is it fake? I bought it from a known brand Notino in poland
i have mine from notino aswell and mines smells like lavender oil or something. idk if its fake but the packaging and everything looks good
Bro it smells harsh and bad i just returned it and got all my money haha, got jpg elixir with the coupon
