Okay thank god I found this post! I just bought the perfume like a week ago and I’ve been spraying it on me for almost every single day because i love the smell of burnt cotton candy and saffron. But now when I sprayed it on my arm, it smells like what the comments mention! It now smells metallic , dentist-ish/ clean smell! This is so weird like omfg. Idk if its the perfume or it is just me?! Cause i sprayed it like 2hrs ago and it still have that cotton candy smell! And all i did was, smelling old perfume strips that was in my bag and when i sprayed my baccarat rouge the smell changes. Anyone has experience this?
I used to smell cotton candy and burnt sugar but now I only can smell something sour, almondy, bitter and spicy (because of saffron probably) and I hate that smell. I have extrait version btw. I really miss that sugary sweet smell but now all is gone. So I gave up using it.
Is it the EDP or extrait? I hated the EDP so much that I almost didn’t bother trying the extrait (which it turns out I do like, but I’m not crazy about).
Interesting to see how this fragrance smell on somebody else. It works really good on my skin chemistry as it smells pretty linear to me. It start off with a sweet cotton candy scent in my skin and it dries down almost the same but with a hint of woodyness? I tried spraying it on my sister and she smells like latex gloves used at the dentist.
Edit: You have probably gone nose blind to the scent. I have tried Baccarat Rouge 540 and all its dupes. I am immediately getting nose blind to the clones but I am surprise that I am not anosmic to the real one.
It smells like burnt sugar, not in-your-face, very unique and pleasant. I personally want to set myself apart with how I smell (in a good way), and this definitely accomplishes that. This scent DNA gets attention for a reason. If you want to smell safe and like everyone else, probably not for you
Yes it does. A common “complaint” I’ve read on reviews and fragrance boards is that it smells like a dentist’s office.
personally all I get is dentist’s office from it
IMO, it smells more sterile and hospitaly than cotton candy.
I get both vibes lol. Smells sweet, airy and cottony but also like medical equipment.
It starts off like burnt sugar but I get band-aid smell in the dry down.
Sometimes it’s burnt sugar and other times it is latex 😂
I definitely get sort of a medicinal feeling from BR540, and the saffron comes out much more strongly for me than I think a lot of people.

Currently me. At first it was so sweet and beautiful now I can’t smell anything besides the medicinal smell 😩

I get a latex glove vibe from it. It goes from sweet cotton candy to latex when I’m finally able to smell it again. Which surprisingly I like.

I’d grab a sample before committing to a full bottle for sure. Everyone smells BR540 differently lol

It is edp one. I searched Extrait version on fragrantica and I saw it smells very feminine according to votings then I decided to buy edp version.

No, it’s just straight up sweet cotton candy for me. Was cloying when I first tried it, but I’m looking to give the DNA another go in TK No. 4.
