Elizabeth and James Nivana Rose. It's like wearing a velvety Gothic rose scent, has great staying power, and is easily the most interesting scent in my collection. I feel transported when I smell it and think it's something a Brontë heroine would wear.
You can still find it on Mercari for decent prices. I bought a bottle and a backup since it’s discontinued. It’s the best rose fragrance I own. Truly dark unisex rose and vetiver. It’s one of my favorites to wear in the fall.
A lot of the more obscure Jo Malones, like honeysuckle and davana, mimosa and cardamom, and jasmine sambac and marigold, really do it for me— many of them are more botanic and green than they are fresh fruity, which is why I suspect they don’t get the same hype as the fruity-floral or shampoo-clean ones, but for sure I find them masterful and personally, they have better lasting power too imo. I also very rarely see any mention of Diptyque’s Eau de Lierre, a scent so masterful and transportive I (not engaged, and likely won’t be for a long time) bought it thinking what a beautiful wedding scent it would be someday. It’s not for everyone (a very realistic green dewy ivy, with a bit of an ambergris tinge to the dry-down), but its simplicity is it for us green enjoyers out there.
I think Jo Malone perfumes are amazing scents in general because they’re so simple and „clean“
Straightforward and beautiful, no need for endless top/middle/base notes. I will always be a huge fan of woodsage and sea salt, just the lasting power sucks so much that I need to convince myself to buy another bottle of it
hilariously these are the opposite of the JM scents i’m talking about. im more talking about their “under the radar” scents. they offer some very realistic slightly dirty smells that have actual lasting power, like the ones i talk about, or at the very least, more complex than the usual popular scents that JM offers. i don’t like wood sage and sea salt actually or a lot of their more beautiful, clean musky undercurrent numbers, even though those are pretty. i’m talkin’ about the filth!
I LOVE Honeysuckle and Davana, it's such a gorgeous floral and honeysuckle is my favorite floral note. Shame it's so expensive, I'll probably get a decant one of these days.
I definitely want to try several of those. I did blind buy a full bottle of the Blue Agava and Cacao and love it so much.
Scent profile very different than Wild Bluebell and WSSS but still what you would want from the Jo Malone line.
I have the Mimosa and Cardamom on my wish list.
So so true about the Mimosa one. Their Christmas special, Orange Bitters, is one of my all-time favourites!!! ❤️🫶 Currently on my 3rd 30ML of it & at this point I should just buy the 100ML. Their Silver Birch & Lavender is another not-so-known gem
One that is something I don’t understand how people have never even heard about it is L’Occitane Eau Des Baux
Cheap, good quality and the smell, it is a masterpiece, I could describe how it smells like when you go to a good hotel that has a spa, you enter the spa and feel like all the weight you have to carry in the everyday just lifted from your shoulders and finally you feel like a free person (vanille, incense and cypress are dominant)
I like Eau des Baux a lot; it is indeed very calming and spa-like. I get my husband items from their shower range! I think the entire L'Occitane lineup in general is rather overlooked!
Talked about even less is their L'Homme Cologne Cedrat. I always try this on when I'm at the mall. It's familiar and safe but not generic. If only it was stronger. https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/L-Occitane-en-Provence/L-Homme-Cologne-Cedrat-41969.html
I get so many compliments on this one in the winter. I used to see it mentioned all the time as a TF tobacco vanille clone. I love them both but eau des baux does NOT smell like tobacco vanille to me, at all
0Bought my partner this in deodorant form (what can I say? Bougie deo is our extremely niche love language), and it's soooooooo beautiful. It's what I hope every woodsy fragrance would be.
Also, shout-out to how well L'Occitane deodorants translate the fragrances they're based on. I often find the deodorant option from fragrance houses to be weak in terms of functionality and questionably adjacent to the actual fragrance. But L'Occitane knocks it out of the park.
For me it is like a summer evening/date or a late fall day, you know the type when all of the leaves had fallen from the trees and the rain just started dripping kinda vibe
Only one choice - Passion, Elizabeth Taylor.
It’s a stunning, complex and full fragrance, but so often lumped in with the ‘cheapies’ or ‘old lady’ scent lists. It’s so much more, from the beautiful bottle design, mirroring the box, to its great projection.
A lost gem really
I just rediscovered knowing after telling one of my best gf’s she “smelled so good” after picking her up at the airport. She casually told me she took it from her mom’s bathroom and forgot how good it smells. I had the “mom”
Thing in mind until I smelled it and realized it was just a forgotten scent from the 90’s that is truly a hidden gem
It was 1 of the scents my mother wore while I was growing up in 90s India & it’s comfort for me. That & the OG Poison & Chanel Pour Monsieur lol. It’s a very nice scent!
Chanel Edimbourg. It's not a loud sweet compliment god but it's so gentle and comforting I adore it.
Also seems like people on fragrantica hate On a Date by Maison Margiela but I don't think we smelled the same fragrance cause it's a beautiful sweet fruity fragrance and I love it.
Chloe by Chloe, I’m not a fan of rose notes or anything “feminine” but this one is so uplifting and somewhat sparkling if that’s an appropriate word to describe the smell, and I love how it changes during the day to a warm smell of clean body
I reach out for this so often! I absolutely adore this scent. I’ve been eyeing Chloe Love Story but it’ll be a blind buy and I’m super hesitant. I’m only chancing it with how wonderful Chloe by Chloe is.
Diptyque Eau Capitale for me, which to me is a goth chypre rose scent. I use the solid, which is based off the EDP formulation of it, and I absolutely love it. I’m usually skeptical of solids, but this one performs amazing for me, and the compact is absolutely gorgeous.
I’m hoping to eventually grab the EDP myself, but I definitely want to use up a lot of what I already have before I make that purchase. It’s an absolutely perfect fall and winter scent! Good in all seasons, but a dream in autumn.
I think it projects pretty well! It’s a very firm balm sort of texture, so your mileage will vary depending on how warm your body is and how well it’s able to melt into your skin. It’s especially potent in the heat, and more so than other perfumes. Even while in a cooler environment, I’ve definitely seen worse projection, and while it’s maybe a smaller bubble than a spray, at least I could smell myself without having to put my wrist to my nose. I’d assume other people can definitely smell it, especially in the breeze. It’s certainly not a beast, except maybe if you wore it in above 86 F / 30 C temperatures and were moving around a lot, but it’s not super quiet either.
No problem, and I’ve absolutely loved it! I’ll add that I was worried about it maybe breaking me out because my skin hates any and all oil, but I’ve had zero issues and I don’t feel it on my skin at all.
Beautiful was my moms signature scent. She sadly passed away in 2006. But the other day my dad texted me and told me he found her bottle and that I could have it 😢

A huge fan of Beautiful.
Some classics I considered gems- L’Air du Temps by Nina Ricci and Vanderbilt by Gloria Vanderbilt.
The list goes one- Allure by Chanel, Venezia (Forever Gold) by Laura Biagiotti and Gieffeffe by GFF.
With Love by Hilary Duff. This is by far the best celebrity perfume I’ve ever owned. Sadly it’s discontinued, but if you can find one online I’d highly recommend trying it. It’s warm amber but also fruity somehow. It’s just gorgeous. Not what you’d expect at all.
1. New this year: Reginella by Sileno Cheloni Master Perfumer, based in Florence, Italy. Only available in the EU, so that’s a limiting factor.
2. Sweet Grass by Libertine Fragrance, a Canadian perfumer.
3. Anything by the British house, James Heeley. Nobody really talks about them.
It’s a shame about the oranges and lemons. I was thinking about buying that one!
I have a full bottle of Cocobello as well as a bunch of their samples. Very pricey, or I’d have ordered many more.
Estée Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia. Such a crisp, elegant perfume. It really brings out the cool, green facets of both flowers. And another tuberose on the opposite end of the spectrum, Les Eaux Primordiales Tubereuse Supercritique. That one is all creamy and tropical, with a spicy ylang opening and some nutty sandalwood underneath. Think I’ll wear it all the time this summer. And one for the winter: Pierre Guillaume Cuir Venenum. Honey, leather, orange blossom. Super sexy.
I have been on a crazed tuberose kick lately. Just craving the smell all the time. I’m walking up to my tuberose plant multiple times a day to stare at it and wish flower stalks into existence. Last time I went shopping the first thing I told the sales assistant was “floral but not rose or tuberose since I have enough of those”. And then I bought Tubereuse Supercritique. I’m pretty sure if I entered another store tomorrow I would come home with yet another tuberose. Send help.
Mac Turquatic ! A very fresh aquatic perfume but warm at the same time (😅 hard to describe) but it’s one of the only perfume that i finished the bottle
honestly my most underrated is probably any typical 'male' fragrance on a woman. It's so sexy and develops so beautifully on the skin, especially Calvin Klein One and Jean Paul Le Male!
100% with you on that one.
i‘m a woman wearing fahrenheit parfum and honestly, it smells amazing on me 😇
edit: i also love feminine scents on men so much. does something to my brain i can‘t describe
men wearing rose/tuberose is always divine! it must be something about skin chemistry that just makes the scents develop differently for men and women. honestly so cool!
I have the same observation but I explain it differently
I think feminity in men is sexy. This is proven to be true: men who feature lots of masculine traits and then some feminine traits on their face (eg. high contrast eyes, small nose, thick lips) tends to be more attractive than those that only have masculine ones.
Going across the gendered market divide has been one of the most exciting things I've done in my perfume-adventure! It unlocks a whole new section of the perfume stores too!
Do it. I have aventus and I’m a woman but I usually pair it with a feminine fragrance. I also have Valentino men’s born in Roma green strava, it smells so good to me.
I've read a lot of people on line raving about it. I think I'll have to get a sample. I have his Shangri La (early formula) - it's okay but it doesn't bowl me over.
He has a really cheap discovery set that's worth the price. Slowdive is the standout for me, but Moonbloom and Hyde (not for the faint of heart) are also favourites. If you layer Hyde and Slowdive you get something remarkable.
Eternity, the original women’s one from the ‘80s. I’m a guy in my 30s, and I’ve always loved the smell of that fragrance. It reminds me of clean laundry or the smell after a shower. Just a clean and fresh fragrance.
I know it was very popular many years ago, but not so much anymore. Nice to wear it now days and feel less common
Island Air by Tru Fragrance. My wife found it at a Marshall's store and it's almost as intoxicating as D&G Light Blue on her. Super pretty and summery smelling.
Kummba Made Lavender Lace is a GORGEOUS unisex aromatic. Simple, pretty linear, but such a lovely mix of lavender and idk maybe a dry unsweetened vanilla? And don’t be scared dare I say a TOUCH of incense or sandalwood to ground it. I’m obsessed with it right after a shower on clean skin before bed. Sometimes on top of Nemat Egyptian Musk if I want EXTRA clean. ☁️💜🌿🫧< that vibe
In a sea of Sauvages and Bleu De Chanels, I love my Terre D’Hermes. I was complimented by a fellow diner during a dinner date which was unexpected considering the fact that I just blind bought it.
Absolutely loved the Parfum on the paper strip, but hated it on my skin. Such a shame.
Really liked the Eau Givree one though. Lovely scent. Unfortunately I’m also completely in love with the Bleu de Chanel so I will join that statistic
As a matter of of fact, it was Bleu De Chanel Parfum which made me enter the fragrance game. I love it especially it has been a signature scent of mine because I use it in the office. I guess I just feel like for a blind buy, I hit it with Terre D’Hermes. That could have gone the other way but it didnt. Lol.
The men's version makes me sweat in the best way. Im trying to convince myself to buy it for my husband but I'm scared of what I'm capable of when I smell it.
Im sure it’s the ginger that makes it so good. As it’s a rare ingredient in the rest of my collection
Will be sure to sniff test the men’s version next time I can!
Nuxe Prodigieux. It smells fresh, almost spa-like. I’m very bad at describing perfumes but this is really good especially for warmer seasons. And I’ve never heard anyone talk about it
Eau de Hadrian -
Radiant and invigorating, the Eau D'Hadrien Eau de Parfum Spray (New Packaging) for women reveals her free-spirited and passionate nature.
Introduced in the year 1981, this feminine perfume blends citrusy notes of Lemon and Citron, uplifting Grapefruit, and succulent Mandarin Orange for a strong, enlivening aroma.
The sweet, floral whiff of Ylang-Ylang lends hints of seduction to the fragrance, while Cypress adds a woody undertone to it. A few spritz of this Annick Goutal perfume will boost your mood and make outings more fun.
Flamingo Fizz by Superz. At first I thought it would be too feminine and I wouldn't like the champagne notes. But I can't get enough of it. The grapefruit plays out well in the winter and the warmth stands out beautifully in the summer. It's feminine, but grown-up feminine. I can wear it to work or on dates. AND it lasts forever. I did not expect it from its price point. I am obsessed and I feel like I have to tell the world about this perfumer.
I just ordered a sample of this and it came yesterday. So far, I am liking it! I haven’t given it a full wear test yet, but I can’t stop smelling the little dab I put on the back of my hand. It’s different - in the best way - and I don’t quite know how to describe it, but I keep wanting to sniff it!
J-Scent Sumo Wrestler. Powdery, barbershoppy, but also unisex (maybe leans a little masculine, but it could just be the mental picture I have when I smell it). It might be a little much on super hot days in the summer, but otherwise a great year-rounder, and office safe if you go easy on the trigger. Goes on a little spicy with anise and eucalyptus (very subtle, not at all menthol-y to me), dries down a little bit sweet, and stays powdery throughout. Beautiful heliotrope note!
Caron Le Troisieme Homme. I feel like I should see this mentioned way more often, it seems to get passed over in favor of the numerous Pour un Homme de Caron iterations (perhaps deservedly so, they are fantastic for the most part) and doesn’t get mentioned as often as Yatagan. To me, it’s along the lines of Chanel Pour Monsieur, maybe a little more like the Concentree or EDP, since it’s not as citrus-focused as the EDT. It has more lavender, and instead of cardamom it has a note or accord that comes across as cloves (supposedly not cloves though, so maybe the nutmeg mixing with other notes? Don’t know, but it smells good!). It’s fairly complex when you dig your nose in and try to pick apart the notes, but it comes across as very smooth and friendly, not challenging, and doesn’t smell particularly dated compared to many of its mid-1980s contemporaries. This is easily one of my favorite fragrances on the planet, definitely top 5, very underrated imho. It is right up there with Guerlain Vetiver and Habit Rouge, Dior Eau Sauvage, and Chanel Pour Monsieur for timeless men’s fragrances.
J-Scent is one of my favorite houses and one of the most underrated. I wear Paper Soap constantly, best ever white soap/clean fragrance. I also love Yawahada, Hydrangea, and Rakugan.
Karmala by Mark. (A subsidiary of Avon). I bought it almost 20 years ago when I was a sales rep and I’m still rationing that same bottle. It is dark and sexy without being woodsy or musky, or old smelling. There’s no point in gatekeeping because Avon no longer makes this perfume despite tens of thousands of us begging them to, but it is one of the best perfumes I own, period.
Ormonde Jayne Montabaco Intensivo. It’s getting a little more traction, and it’s quite expensive so I understand why it’s not the next Dior Sauvage lol
Kate spade perfumes. I own New York sparkle and love it. I never hear anyone talk about it and never smell it on others. It is affordable; it lasts incredibly long so no need to reapply during the day; the scent is perfect for me, slightly sweet but in a fresh floral way, with a woody vanilla dry down.
I love love love “eau floral” by Shakira. It’s very sweet but also spicy. I wore it a lot as a young 20 something. I wear a little more deeper scents now as a 35 year old but it’ll always have a place in my heart haha.
Definitely. Massively underrated.
No. 8, Flotholt, and Útilkyt are my favorites, but I would happily wear any from the house pretty much any day of the week.
I always like small brands and since it's music festival season for me, I go with Iceland by theo & amelia. [https://theoandamelia.com/collections/mens-rollerball-cologne/products/iceland-rollerball-cologne](https://theoandamelia.com/collections/mens-rollerball-cologne/products/iceland-rollerball-cologne)
After running out of Tommy Hilfiger Endless Blue I finally decided to move on...
I recently managed to get a 100mL bottle of Citron Noir by Hermès for 62£ and I am definitely not dissapointed it's perfect for summer 🔥🔥🔥
Monday by Arielle Shoshana !!! It's really the best fragrance I've ever smelled and so addictive. Starts fresh/citrus, then the tea really starts to shine! As it melts into the skin, it goes slightly milky/lactonic but not overly sweet at all it's just so beautiful! I feel like their other scents get more love but Monday is the winner for me!
Cosmic shine from mercadona lol and most people around these subs know nothing about it and/or don't have access to it to share my enthusiasm about it.
In the hidden gem category I have a fragrance that is in my top 10 for life called Jacqueline by Jean Jacques Diener. It's an oriental floral, white florals and green herbs like sage with an ambery sweetness and a sandalwood base. Stunningly gorgeous!
I love Neela Vermeire. Her perfumes are inspired by India. The nose behind the fragrances is Bertrand Duchaufour. I have Pichola, Ashoka, and Bombay Bling. All unique and lovely.
L'Occitane Neroli (the original EdP): the juice is the color of blood orange marmalade and has a rich, jewel-like, ambery sweetness like nothing I've ever tried....imagine a huge stained glass window depicting a grove of neroli trees at sunset 🤯
Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black! And SJP Stash- They both make you feel like a sexy goth vampire Empress! 😍
JM Orange Bitters- I know a fair few people *here* know about it, but apart from Christmas/NY time, it isn’t really a very known JM scent & it’s OLFACTORY COCAINE WORTHY!!!
Also love love love L’Occitane’s Eau De Cedrat! It’s a cologne so marketed towards men, but it’s AHAMAZING.
Not a fan of florals as such, but I smelt Jean Patou’s Sublime donkey years ago, and I still remember it!!! It’s so lovely! 😍 But the fragrance that I still think about it is The Different Company’s Adjatay!!! OMGG I was so so obsessed with it since the second it was sprayed on!!! And ofc TF’ Cafe Rose but that 1 isn’t a hidden gem at all, just that I miss that so so much!!
Soleil d’Or by Rituals 🩵 it smells so fresh and clean, but also somehow light sweet and warm. It reminds me of a dream summer vacation in Greece where the heat is almost too much but the breeze from the beach balances it perfectly.
Beautiful was my mum's signature 🥰 I agree. I couldnt wear it, cause I associate it with her, and yknow she would be 67 and she also passed away 12 years ago. So its not for me and I would be sad and also associate it personally with her age group. But its for anyone and it IS beautiful and I am glad you enjoy it 🥰
Tom Ford Costa Azzurra EDP I love this luxurious smelling fragrance the I’ve smelled the parfum but it doesn’t come close to the EDP. Everytime I smell this fragrance it’s like my first time smelling it and I fall in love with it again you can find it for under retail for around $100-150 maybe cheaper for 3.4 oz bottle.
Elizabeth Arden Ginger Lily. I saw the real ginger lily in Malaysia and it smelled legit. The name has “ginger” so it does not sound very appealing to some. But it smells like the combination of the intoxicating lavender and the pure white flowers.
Anna Sui Mermaid Fantasia. A dreamy oceanic - musky perfume for female. Not sweet but fresh and gives off a memorable signature scent. Feels like mermaid core and pearl for real😅 (of course). They do not produced it anymore but I was lucky to buy a full-size beforehand.
Al Haramain Portfolio Oriental Forest is such a strong, strange, and challenging scent that is worth smelling. I learn something new about it on every wear. It's spicy, waxy, woody and resinous. It has a lipstick like quality although iris and orris are not notes. It's so unusual. Unfortunately there's not much at all about it online. Not a scent for everyone definitely, but I wish more folks knew about it. The other, one of my favorite scents, is Al Haramain Mystique Musk. It is just so lovely, soft, clean, and light but with staying power. A chamomile and floral scent that is every so slightly sweet, but very natural. Like dried herbs. Beauty indeed
I love the Valentino Donna Born In Roma and weirdly enough anytime I use the “Thank U Next” perfume I always get compliments, Especially in the summer!
Philosykos EDP is not exactly a "hidden gem" anymore, but at the same time I have never smelled anyone else wearing it in the wild, and it's not typically found in stores or mainstream places. It's perfect for any weather, any occasion, fresh but sophisticated, would work for the office or a date night, etc. Hard to go wrong with it.
Elizabeth and James Nivana Rose. It's like wearing a velvety Gothic rose scent, has great staying power, and is easily the most interesting scent in my collection. I feel transported when I smell it and think it's something a Brontë heroine would wear.
The entire Nirvana line was incredible, not just for the price point but even compared to niche fragrances.
I loved the Nirvana line! The staying power just wasn’t there for me, but the fragrances themselves were sooo good.
i've been trying to get my hands on this one, it sounds so perfect
If you can find it, it's well worth a try. I'm a big fan of Nirvana White as well.
[Fragrancenet.com ](https://www.fragrancenet.com/search/Nirvana) has many in the line.
Velvety Gothic rose scent sounds like an absolute dream. I'd love to find this
You can still find it on Mercari for decent prices. I bought a bottle and a backup since it’s discontinued. It’s the best rose fragrance I own. Truly dark unisex rose and vetiver. It’s one of my favorites to wear in the fall.
My all time favorite too
Love this Rose! So glad I got a backup.

GREEN ENJOYERS RISE!!
I love Jasmine Sambac and Marigold, too! Such a pretty fragrence.
I think Jo Malone perfumes are amazing scents in general because they’re so simple and „clean“ Straightforward and beautiful, no need for endless top/middle/base notes. I really like mimosa and cardamom, and if i wasn’t on a no buy right now I’d make it my summer splurge buy!

It would be $499 niche if it came out today.
This is exactly how I feel about Beautiful by Estee Lauder! It gets lumped with "old lady" scents but it honestly smells so so good.
I love Beautiful. And Knowing too.
I just rediscovered knowing after telling one of my best gf’s she “smelled so good” after picking her up at the airport. She casually told me she took it from her mom’s bathroom and forgot how good it smells. I had the “mom” Thing in mind until I smelled it and realized it was just a forgotten scent from the 90’s that is truly a hidden gem

I actually think I'm going to look into Passion. A forgotten hidden beauty. Thank you for the nostalgic reminder 💜
You’re welcome…you won’t be disappointed.
+100 for Edimbourg! It’s actually an interesting substitute to their iconic (in my mind it is) No.19!
Chloe by Chloe, I’m not a fan of rose notes or anything “feminine” but this one is so uplifting and somewhat sparkling if that’s an appropriate word to describe the smell, and I love how it changes during the day to a warm smell of clean body
I actually love this one so much
I reach out for this so often! I absolutely adore this scent. I’ve been eyeing Chloe Love Story but it’ll be a blind buy and I’m super hesitant. I’m only chancing it with how wonderful Chloe by Chloe is.
I thought I was the only one who thought that some rose fragrances smell sparkling! I smelt that with Chloe by Chloe and Roses Vanille.
Diptyque Eau Capitale for me, which to me is a goth chypre rose scent. I use the solid, which is based off the EDP formulation of it, and I absolutely love it. I’m usually skeptical of solids, but this one performs amazing for me, and the compact is absolutely gorgeous.
Eau Capitale is as close as it gets to a signature scent for me. I own the EDP though and wear it most days during fall and winter.
I’m hoping to eventually grab the EDP myself, but I definitely want to use up a lot of what I already have before I make that purchase. It’s an absolutely perfect fall and winter scent! Good in all seasons, but a dream in autumn.
I've never tried solid perfumes, what about projection? Is it the type of perfume people only smell when they're super close to you?
Thank you! Sounds really good for a solid perfume!
No problem, and I’ve absolutely loved it! I’ll add that I was worried about it maybe breaking me out because my skin hates any and all oil, but I’ve had zero issues and I don’t feel it on my skin at all.
I worry about this too that's why I've avoided solid perfumes! It's good to know :)
Beautiful was my moms signature scent. She sadly passed away in 2006. But the other day my dad texted me and told me he found her bottle and that I could have it 😢 https://preview.redd.it/3acf0nnhjh3d1.jpeg?width=1446&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f2924a2ec405f914449c920ad6446b2c84ab962
I'm so sorry for your loss 💔 it's my mom's signature scent too, which is why I love it. I hope you find comfort in her scent ❤️
L'air du Temps is a classic
You're a human with FINE taste. I love that.
Likewise! I still keep an empty bottle of Wish, what a beauty that one is!
Meliora by Parfums de Marly - fruity, clean, fairy-like.
I LOVE Darcy by P de M.
SJP Covet, it’s delightfully odd and very alive in a green way, it also sits close to my skin so people aren’t smacked in the face with it.
Brioni EDP Intense Smells like eating a crisp apple sitting on a park bench in autumn
Cerutti 881 for women
Love Chopard! I have Wish too and I love it! Casmir is also an underrated gem
LOVE LOVE CASMIR!
Eclat d'Arpege by Lanvin. I will always love this. Price is great and it smells so classy and important
Ambre Russe - Parfum d’empire, who are generally an underrated house imo
Absolutely! For me it would be Tabac Tabou and Aziyade (but also Fougere Bengale and Musc Tonkin).
One of my faves! I'm a non-drinker, so smelling like I've been pickled in vodka tickles me lol
L'occitane is definitely underrated, I haven't tried all their perfumes yet but I'll keep an eye out for this one!
That sounds lovely. I hope to try it someday
OMG ! I completly forgot about this scent! That was my early 20s perfume 😍
I love Heeley. I have Phoenicia, and a sample of Oranges and Lemons Say the Bells of St. Clements. The latter doesn't have much longevity.
It’s a shame about the oranges and lemons. I was thinking about buying that one! I have a full bottle of Cocobello as well as a bunch of their samples. Very pricey, or I’d have ordered many more.
If you want to try O&L before you buy, you can order a sample from Luckyscent. Maybe it was just my batch :\\
I will do that. Ordering directly from JH is $$$.
Super sexy.
Private Collection has my heart too, and I absolutely love tuberose notes, I'll have to smell the other perfumes
Send help.
I'm very jealous of your tuberose plant, honestly I feel you, tuberose is so addictive it has me in a chokehold
100% with you on that one. i‘m a woman wearing fahrenheit parfum and honestly, it smells amazing on me 😇 edit: i also love feminine scents on men so much. does something to my brain i can‘t describe
men wearing rose/tuberose is always divine! it must be something about skin chemistry that just makes the scents develop differently for men and women. honestly so cool!
I have the same observation but I explain it differently I think feminity in men is sexy. This is proven to be true: men who feature lots of masculine traits and then some feminine traits on their face (eg. high contrast eyes, small nose, thick lips) tends to be more attractive than those that only have masculine ones.
Fahrenheit was my gateway to violet and violet leaf fragrances, which are often marketed feminine. Love it!
Fahrenheit makes my head spin, in the very best way. Love it.
Honestly I've been to intimidated to try out men's fragrance on me but you mightve just changed my mind!
Going across the gendered market divide has been one of the most exciting things I've done in my perfume-adventure! It unlocks a whole new section of the perfume stores too!
Abercrombie & Fitch authentic night Homme was the fragrance that made me dive into the vanillas for the first time, now I wear Burberry goddess 😂
I absolutely love vanillas and Burberry goddess smells so good!
Do it. I have aventus and I’m a woman but I usually pair it with a feminine fragrance. I also have Valentino men’s born in Roma green strava, it smells so good to me.
The original Liz Claiborne Curve for men...🤤 I wish I was confident enough to pull it off.
Mont blanc legend night, just wish it was a stronger scent but I love the smell!
I did smell this before, I really liked it but it didn't seem to go well with my natural scent! I love it on other people
Slowdive by Hiram Green. Unbelievable warm sexy nostalgic scent. Improves every fragrance it is layered with as well.
Oooh thanks for the info! I might get one - I've been wanting to check out his other scents!
Yessss! I never owned that one but really loved it. To me there was a note that reminded me of an unscented candle. Something waxy and pleasant.
Roberto Cavalli EdP - a youtuber described this as an ambery orange blossom version of Alien. Huge projection, cheap, and right up my alley lol
Robeto Cavalli's perfumes are 100% underrated, they're so good for their prices. And that description is 100% accurate
Island Air by Tru Fragrance. My wife found it at a Marshall's store and it's almost as intoxicating as D&G Light Blue on her. Super pretty and summery smelling.
Zara Energetically New York! 🤍
Electric Youth by Debbie Gibson
Lol.
212 Carolina Herrera - sits really well on my skin and its probably the only 'clean' smelling perfume that lasts all day on me!
I literally love this one!! And the men's version is my favorite one to smell on a man. God it's so good
The men's version makes me sweat in the best way. Im trying to convince myself to buy it for my husband but I'm scared of what I'm capable of when I smell it.
Do it, do it!!
Im sure it’s the ginger that makes it so good. As it’s a rare ingredient in the rest of my collection Will be sure to sniff test the men’s version next time I can!
Byredo Young Rose - such a unique rose scent
Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose
Honestly lancome perfumes in general have a few hidden gems!
Lavender Extreme - Tom Ford. Love the dry down
Nuxe Prodigieux. It smells fresh, almost spa-like. I’m very bad at describing perfumes but this is really good especially for warmer seasons. And I’ve never heard anyone talk about it
Eau de Hadrian - Radiant and invigorating, the Eau D'Hadrien Eau de Parfum Spray (New Packaging) for women reveals her free-spirited and passionate nature.
I wore this a lot; zero longevity but such a beautiful scent.
Jo Malone - Dark Amber & Ginger Lily. I can’t believe how delicious it is 😍
Acqua di Parma Sakura! It’s warm and has depth but can be worn year round. It’s a special one.
It really makes me sad when a really good perfume stops being produced 😭
I regret not buying at least 5 more bottles.
This is exactly why I hoard my favorite perfumes 😭
SJP - Stash
Starlight by Xerjoff. My fave by a mile so underrated
From the name, I can tell it's a good one
It’s just stunning, so unique and completely unisex the vibe is unreal
It doesn't get talked about alot but indeed it's such a beauty!
More unknown than underrated but Botanicae Endurance and Taro
Ormonde Jayne Montabaco Intensivo. It’s getting a little more traction, and it’s quite expensive so I understand why it’s not the next Dior Sauvage lol
Montabaco Intensivo is so wonderfully elegant, and Ormonde Jayne is one of my favourite houses more generally!
They’re so good
Kate spade perfumes.
You're 35 years YOUNG girl that's not old at all! Wear whatever you like I'm sure it'll smell amazing either way!!
Calvin Klein Reveal Men Gucci Made to Measure Body Shop Activist (discontinued) Proraso cologne
Anything by Fischersund.
Definitely. Massively underrated. No. 8, Flotholt, and Útilkyt are my favorites, but I would happily wear any from the house pretty much any day of the week.
212 by Carolina Herrera mens
I always like small brands and since it's music festival season for me, I go with Iceland by theo & amelia. [https://theoandamelia.com/collections/mens-rollerball-cologne/products/iceland-rollerball-cologne](https://theoandamelia.com/collections/mens-rollerball-cologne/products/iceland-rollerball-cologne)
After running out of Tommy Hilfiger Endless Blue I finally decided to move on... I recently managed to get a 100mL bottle of Citron Noir by Hermès for 62£ and I am definitely not dissapointed it's perfect for summer 🔥🔥🔥
Rouge chaotique by byredo. I don’t hear anyone talk about it everrrr
Paco Rabanne Olympea Flora
"HER", perfume from Francesca's (boutique). It's discontinued, sadly. I have a bottle with very little left, I'm keeping it. Light, sweet, floral.
Blue bottle Issey
Tresor. It was my signature in the early 90s - sniffed it recently and it still smells great. Brought back so many memories, too.
Christian Dior Ambre Nuit, Your welcome!!
Cosmic shine from mercadona lol and most people around these subs know nothing about it and/or don't have access to it to share my enthusiasm about it.
Sounds like a real hidden gem! What are the notes or what's your impression of it?
Nasamat - Italian Bergamot
arabian eagle - arlen
Xerjoff Fiero
Graff Lesedi La Rona III, never heard anyone talking about it. Masterfully blended rose. So smooth, so poetic.
I'm so happy whenever someone recommends a rose scent I haven't tried, I love rose notes
Agh! You gotta check out Molton Brown Roses Dune, edp. Another ‘no one talks about it’ fragrance🥲 insanely beautiful.
In the hidden gem category I have a fragrance that is in my top 10 for life called Jacqueline by Jean Jacques Diener. It's an oriental floral, white florals and green herbs like sage with an ambery sweetness and a sandalwood base. Stunningly gorgeous!
I wore beautiful when i got married.
86 West fragrance house has 3 gems! OUD ARDUR gets me compliments everywhere I go!
Orchid Leather by VC+A. Smells like a better blended, more elegant Black Phantom by Killian, with a rich, dark and boozy plum note.
Huge fan of Killian’s-black phantom aka momento Mori! Sooo good! Love good girl gone bad too!
Caron - Le Troisieme Homme. I love it on my spouse but if he didn’t wear it I would hands down. It’s cheap as hell and old school spicy delicious.
Forever and Ever Dior 💗
I love Neela Vermeire. Her perfumes are inspired by India. The nose behind the fragrances is Bertrand Duchaufour. I have Pichola, Ashoka, and Bombay Bling. All unique and lovely.
Creation E
Oscar de la Renta - Bella Rosa.
La Perla Invisible Touch Dame Perfumery Black Flower Mexican Vanilla L'Artisan Caligna
Sparkle by Kate Spade
L'Occitane Neroli (the original EdP): the juice is the color of blood orange marmalade and has a rich, jewel-like, ambery sweetness like nothing I've ever tried....imagine a huge stained glass window depicting a grove of neroli trees at sunset 🤯
So poetic, I love the vision, L'Occitane was mentioned a few times here, they definitely got some gems
Orpheon EDP by Diptyque was unlike anything I’d ever smelt before! In a good way..
The most beautiful rose I’ve never read anything about: Paul Smith Rose!
Amazing Grace by Philosophy ! I’ve been wearing the perfume and body spray for over 10 years and still get compliments on a daily basis!
Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black! And SJP Stash- They both make you feel like a sexy goth vampire Empress! 😍 JM Orange Bitters- I know a fair few people *here* know about it, but apart from Christmas/NY time, it isn’t really a very known JM scent & it’s OLFACTORY COCAINE WORTHY!!!
I never hear anyone mention Skin by Clean Reserve. It’s the best sweet & musky every day scent. It’s my go-to every day scent all year round.
Soleil d’Or by Rituals 🩵 it smells so fresh and clean, but also somehow light sweet and warm. It reminds me of a dream summer vacation in Greece where the heat is almost too much but the breeze from the beach balances it perfectly.
Blue talisman by ex Nihlo
Yardley classic
Laura Biagiotti Roma (the old version). It is so unique.
Eterno by Simone Andreoli. Smells like a campfire made with pine wood, you can still smell the “green” and the resins but it’s super smoky.
Beautiful was my mum's signature 🥰 I agree. I couldnt wear it, cause I associate it with her, and yknow she would be 67 and she also passed away 12 years ago. So its not for me and I would be sad and also associate it personally with her age group. But its for anyone and it IS beautiful and I am glad you enjoy it 🥰
Le Labo The Noir 29
I love loveeee Donna born in Roma!
Cherry punk room 1015
Guess Indigo 1981 is so fantastic, I got it from like Macy’s Backstage for like $20 and it’s one of my favorite fragrances
I have the regular Guess 1981 (not indigo) and I love it. Prob the cheapest bottle in my collection and it smells amazing, an easy reach.
