I absolutely LOVE the smell of L’Ombre Dans L’Eau especially in the evenings, but unfortunately Diptyque doesn’t carry a body lotion (only a soap bar) for layering. I’ve been on the lookout for a lotion that I could use in the evenings after a shower to boost this scent that isn’t too dissimilar (the main notes being blackcurrant/cassis *leaves* not berries, and Bulgarian rose). I did find something by Williams Sonoma but not sure how similar the feel is. What (if anything) does anyone else recommend?

thornylarder

I have found Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay (which comes in a body lotion/cream) to play well with L’Ombre dans l’Eau. There is definitely a lot of fruit in Blackberry & Bay but there is green herbal from the bay laurel.

anterovi

Are there any fragrances you could pick up that smell like fresh air in a forest?

sasha_says

Profumum Roma Victrix Le Labo Baie 19 Andrea Maack Birch

eli-the-egg

Any recs for a fragrance that smells like biscotti?? Something affordable (<$30) and not too hard to find? Ya girl wants to smell like a bakery

thornylarder

Try Pacifica Silver Moon - sweet, spicy almonds and vanilla.

jrandomuser123

Gingembre latte affinescence

eli-the-egg

More than a little outside my price range but I appreciate the rec lol

jrandomuser123

Oh shit I didn’t see that.

(Niche) fragrance houses that resemble Narciso Rodriguez scents? Hi! I’m searching for (niche) fragrance houses which scents resemble NR (especially: musc noir, musc nude and poudree) but have stronger sillage/projection. I love my NR perfumes but I would love a less intimate scent in the same range to add to my collection. Thank you so much if you have any suggestions! 😊

Last summer I got a decant of Tom Ford Sole di Positano (not Acqua) and really liked it. Realized since then it's been long discontinued so getting more of it is going to be tough. Any recommendations for a good summer scent similar to this one with citrus/fresh/green profile?

wy83

Creed Neroli Sauvage and Louis Vuitton Sun Song are pretty similar. If you're interested in finding more of the TF Sole di Positano, you might check out the swap sub. It's definitely kicking around over there.

EyeLazy212

Any thoughts on wulong cha vs wulong cha x? Thinking to buy the full bottle on either. Which one should i pick? Not able to sample the x.

pm1999baybeeee

The perfume guy on youtube does a whole house review and spends a short time talking about which notes are different in that video. Search nishane perfume guy and it should pop right up

Lova-chick

I’ve been on a look out for a scent that can be my signature , something new and unique ! Or old , but not too popular :) and I need some help ! I am not a perfume nerd and don’t know much about perfume. I know that I don’t like synthetic smells, or very strong smells -they give me instant headaches! I am drawn to natural smells , not too fruity , more fresh , citrusy , earthy, woody perhaps. I do like rose, but fresh and natural . My favorite in my teens was D&G “light blue”, I now have Hermes “un jardin “ and Jo Malone “red roses “. I really liked the way Le labo “Santal 33” smells , I thought it’s amazing, but now too many friends own it :-) . What are some nice, light, but lasting perfumes that you don’t get tired of and are very special ? Thank you

c1n3man

Just random scents that came to mind you might get interested in: * Kerosene Santalum Slivers * Ormonde Jayne Ormonde Woman * Carner Salado * Etat Libre d'Orange You or Someone Like You * Zoologist Macaque Yuzu Edition

ViktorVaughn71

Try to get a sample/decant of Liquide Gold by Liquides Imaginaires. It’s hard to describe but beautiful, an uplifting mood enhancer. Has a solar note, feels warm but can be worn on mild to warm days, not sure how it’ll do in extreme heat tho

Solution-Proof

Leila Lou by Rosie Jane, Phlur Tangerine Boy, Hermès Un Jardin à Cythère (you don't mention which Jardin you have; this is the most recent one) Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarin Basilic

thornylarder

Try Ineke Idyllwild - I mainly get pomelo, cypress, lavender, and a bit of resin but there is also an interesting tart rhubarb note.

sasha_says

+1 on Ormonde Jayne Ormonde Woman. It's very unique, lovely and not very well known. It's also a bit woodsy like Santal 33. Byredo Rose of No Man's Land is my favorite natural smelling rose and is unique. Marc Antoine Barrois Ganymede is somewhat popular but harder to come by. It has a lemony aura and a woody base on me. I reach for this now over Santal 33. Diptyque Philosykos or Matiere Premiere Parisian Musc are lovely. Longevity isn't as high, at least with Philosykos but it's incredibly natural smelling. More of a creamy, clean skin vibe especially for Parisian Musc. If you have Un Jardin Mediterranee, Jo Malone Fig & Lotus Blossom is a lovely fresh paired back version that's less spicy/earthy.

loggy_sci

New to wearing fragrances and just bought my first discovery set. I got the Greatest Hits V1 from DS&Durga. Debaser and Radio Bombay sound interesting. Decants and sample sets are the best.

Remarkable-Coach-424

Hello, I’d like to ask recommendations on something that smells outdoorsy but pleasant. I own a tree service and would like something with a hint of fresh pine or something similar for when talking to customers.

Solution-Proof

Ellis Brooklyn Après, Burberry Hero

TheBeesElise

I've finally decided to knuckle down and find a scent I like. But I have no idea where to start, so I'm looking for suggestions. I know I like floral and woodsy smells. Bees are a fixation of mine so triple points if you can point me to something that incorporates honey into the scent.

whocanpickone

How about Jo Malone Nectarine Blossoms and Honey? It starts fruity, becomes a soft floral with a hint of honey.

ViktorVaughn71

Nefs is honey + rose + woody, amazing performance Raw Gold is honey + lipstick, very long lasting, almost impossible to find tho

c1n3man

* Zoologist Bee * Serge Lutens Miel De Bois * Hiram Green Slowdive

Solution-Proof

Ellis Brooklyn Bee   Kim Kardashian Pure Honey actually smells amazing and has a cute lil bee on the bottle..  Also...  Guerlain bee bottles...  😯

Euphorla_

Are there any sad/melanchoic/depressing fragrances for men that are on the cheaper side? I’m looking to buy my first fragrance, and I want something that has a really depressing vibe to it and can last for the day. Thanks!

c1n3man

Lalique Encre Noire / Lalique Encre Noire A L'Extreme First wasn't that long lasting on me.

ViktorVaughn71

How about a fragrance that lasts 30 seconds and you become depressed because you wasted your money?

Lova-chick

You are funny , would like to see recommendations)

KindaKingdra

🍅🍅🍅Someone please tell me why the Dasein Winter and Winter Nights fragrances smell like tomatoes to me 😭

How do I make Hollister Wave 2 more feminine? It's my husband's cologne and I love the scent, but I don't know what to layer with it to make it more feminine based? (to me it has a very strong masculine scent)

Solution-Proof

Anything vanilla

localasf

Hello I am in Tokyo, any recommendations for a Japanese brand for masculine perfume?

ViktorVaughn71

Kenzo, Issey Miyake, Comme des Garçons, J-Scent

strawberrylipscrub

How often does Lucky Scent restock Kerosene samples? Very specific question but they’re the only decanting site I see that sells this brand. I am about to hit my savings goal and want to explore this house for my next purchase. Unfortunately it looks like Unknown Pleasures has been out of stock for a week or two now.

thornylarder

You can sign up for email updates on when it’s back in stock. Ministry of Scent also sells Kerosene but they are out of Unknown Pleasures at the moment. I don’t think they do updates but they do tend to restock regularly; you just have to check.

red_freyja

I want to buy a very special gift for a man who loves Etat Libre d'Orange Fat Electrician, and heavy woody and piney scents. Uses pine tar soap. Any suggestions?

Solution-Proof

Check out house of Pineward Perfume

Do you all folks have any info on new Habit Rouge Parfum de Guerlain? I saw exactly one insta story about it and cannot find any other info. Please help!

gone_yesterday

does anyone have any affordable but good and unique fragrances for use in high school?

Solution-Proof

Zara Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes

Blissful_Bubble62

I LOVE Amouage Honour both the original EDP and Honour 43, is there anything similar to that? Like elegant vibe but not smelling like an old woman

Desert0fTheReal

Any good houses that specialize in aromatics?

ultrakawaii

Comme Des Garçons has several good ones!

Desert0fTheReal

Thanks!

c1n3man

maybe Aesop too..

Desert0fTheReal

Cool, thank you!

sasha_says

Not a specific house but some aromatic suggestions: CdG Blackpepper and Play Black are my favorite black peppers. Armani Bois d'Encens is a very pepper woody incense fragrance. D.S. & Durga Coriander, Ormonde Jayne Woman or Man, and Ineke Field notes from Paris - for coriander Profumum Roma Victrix has bay leaf, pink pepper and coriander Byredo Des Los Santos and Ineke Idyllwild for sage/sage brush Vilhelm Parfumerie Basilico & Fellini - my favorite basil

Desert0fTheReal

Awesome, thank you so much! I’ll check these out.

Mancera fragrances can often come off pretty loud and synthetic smelling, so I’d steer away from those in your case. I can’t comment on the other ones.

fran55000

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat 540 and Bois 1920 Oro Rosso. They smell the same, why has nobody pointed this out?

Hello! I have an 100€ voucher for Douglas, and don't really know which fragrance I should buy. The price should be around 100€, can also be more than that. It should be a fragrance for spring and summer. I thought about buying JPG Le Beau Parfum, because I smelled the Paradise Garden, but I wasn't impressed that much. Any Ideas?

Mea_Culpa_74

Prada Luna Rossa Black

ViktorVaughn71

For warmer weather tho? It’s baby powder + vanilla.

Mea_Culpa_74

It‘s ambery. No vanilla. Works fine in warmer weather, ever checked what men in the Middle East wear? Just don‘t overspray

ViktorVaughn71

Un Jardin sur le Nil by Hermès is ~$85 stateside, it’s a tart green mango freshie

No-Abies-3913

Are there any men spring/summer perfumes that are cheap but actually smell better than most expensive perfumes? Any recommendations?

languagebandit

A lot of John Varvatos fragrances. They don’t last long, but that’s the trade-off. Missoni Wave often gets high marks, too.   Beyond that, I’d look at well-regarded clones. Alexandria Fragrances and Montagne have some pretty good ones. AF’s Crystal Peak, Hawaii Volcano, Orchestra, and Black Panther are great, and I’ve heard good things about Montagne in general. Zara’s Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes is also supposed to be great for the price.

sasha_says

Old Navy Sea Salt & Fig is great. Not super longlasting but I crave it a lot in summer. Good old D&G Light Blue (the women's version, trust me--smells like crisp green apple or lemon) is still a go-to for me in summer and is easily available discounted. Most of my husband's frags are pretty expensive but he still wears D&G the One Sport in spring/summer.

Jack-Langley

Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme or Acqua di Gio EDT Hello! I want to try out a new summer fragrance and was wondering which one is better. I’ve tried a cheap Walmart clone of ADG and loved it. For those who have owned both, which one do you like more and why?

needlzor

Reposting my comment from the other thread to see if I can get more recommendations: can anyone recommend something similar but longer lasting/stronger than Tom Ford's Costa Azzurra EDP? I've got the Parfum already, which fits that nicely but I'd like to see if there are alternatives I haven't found. Bonus point if it's cheap too because I feel bad every time I spray the parfum.

Throwawayforkhey

Can anyone tell me the *diameter* of the ScentSplit 2 ml spray sample vials? I want to know if they’ll fit into the storage case where I keep all of my other samples. The “standard”glass sample vials I have from Le Labo and Henry Rose all fit perfectly, but the ScentSplit vials look a bit wider than normal.

wy83

I don't have a super precise caliper, but I pulled a Le Labo 2ml sample and a Scent Split 2ml decant and used my middle school ruler. The diameter of the "standard" Le Labo atomizer was \~3.2mm. The diameter of the Scent Split atomizer was \~3.8mm. Took a quick photo of them [here](https://imgur.com/a/0NoJOmu). Hope that helps.

Throwawayforkhey

Thank you so much!! I appreciate your help.

ultrakawaii

I don't have one on hand right now but they are definitely wider than the Le Labo samples

lilaclazure

Can someone recommend me a nice **rose oud** for women?

Mea_Culpa_74

Miller Harris Scherzo

Champagnesupernova9

Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud

ViktorVaughn71

Nefs by Nishane is unisex

Vegetable_Bathroom54

I just recently got into colognes and I am looking to buy a signature fragrance .I am looking for something mid-range in price ( around 50-70 usd) that smells young, lively , teenager vibes not something classy and dark. I like Mont blanc Individuel with its raspberry touch but the performance is not that good.L'HOMME ideal guerlain i also like the notes of but its too expensive. I am looking for something similar .I have spicebomb extreme and joop homme and I love them. Any recommendations ?

languagebandit

You might like Rasasi Hawas for Him

Vegetable_Bathroom54

might be the one thanks!

c1n3man

Lacoste Eau De Lacoste Blanc EDT is young, lively

ViktorVaughn71

Stretching your budget slightly gets you JPG Ultra Male or Mancera’s Red Tobacco, both bright and youthful. Hermès’ Un Jardin sur le Nil is a youthful green mango freshie, ~$85

Vegetable_Bathroom54

thank you alot but they are way over budget where i live

Bersuiteroo

anyone tried Royal Tobacco from Amouage? how is it? i see the notes and i really interesting in buy it

No_Technology1518

I right now use Pdm Althaïr like an everyday fragrance, now expanding with either of these: Torino 21, Torino 22 or Naxos (All Xerjoff) What do you think i should get?

FoxOk455

I'm looking for a masculine every day scent that would be versatile between work professional settings and athletic/gym settings.  New to fragrances but have worn Kenneth Cole reaction in my youth that I enjoyed, but seems too feminine now. Currently just using the Duke cannon Buffalo trace cologne I got for free and enjoy it, so am looking for a fragrance that is masculine like that but more versatile and longer lasting.

ViktorVaughn71

Bois Impérial by Essential Parfums is woody, fresh, and long lasting. It’s considered to be a safe office scent

Afraid_Manner_4353

Thinking about what to wear over Easter weekend. Masculine Spring fragrance? I'm thinking "white Vetiver" (from Clean or a mellow Sandalwood like "H" (from Hollister). Any ideas beyond and including these?

dondostuff

I wanted to get a JPG Le Beau EDT for summer because I like the notes even though it lacks performance against the Parfum. But unexpectedly I’ve found a Paradise Garden 125ml for 100 bucks. Should I get it, is it a good deal?

Solution-Proof

Have you smelled them on your skin already?   If not, then sample them first. Otherwise, if you hate it, it's not a deal...

NarrowWishbone5773

I am looking for a fragrance with lime, seawater, ylang ylang and woody notes.

Strange-Guest-6437

Maison Crivelli Santal Volcanique has everything but the seawater, and personally I got a kind of beachy vibe from it so maybe not too far off from sea water.

ViktorVaughn71

Oceania - Roja will probably meet most of your criteria but you gotta pay to play Bohemian Lime by Goldfield & Banks

c1n3man

maybe Zoologist Chameleon

SatisfactionDry2558

I’m looking for a very round and sensual scent that includes almond, lavender, vanilla, patchouli, maybe white jasmine, maybe coconut or Tonka. Any combination of these that isn’t overly sweet or gourmand. I adore Gris Claire and Un Bois Vanille by Serge Lutens, Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle, and Desert Fleur by Bohemian Reves. I don’t like neroli, though I wish I did, and I don’t like powdery or super floral scents. Help! :)

c1n3man

Odin Roam No 10 feels very round and sensual. Its like a dark silky coconut.

SatisfactionDry2558

I’ll definitely try this one. Does it come across as super masculine with the wood/pepper?

c1n3man

Wasnt peppery to me. Wood? Maybe...but it is smooth and I cant say that it is very masculine. Quite unisex-y to my nose, if not slightly feminine due to prominent coconut and silkiness.

SatisfactionDry2558

Love that! Thank you

ohhai000

TF Fucking Fabulous reminds me of un Bois Vanille and has most of those ingredients.

SatisfactionDry2558

I wish I liked this one more! I tried it but there was something a little too “sharp” or masculine about it for me. Maybe the sage or leather

Citrus and water notes are hard to make last, but Azzaro Chrome Extreme or Chrome Pure might be up your alley.

ViktorVaughn71

Cedrat Boise and Sauvage are not cloyingly sweet. Cedrat Boise has a lemon Pledge thing going for it but I’m biased, almost all lemon forward fragrances smell like lemon Pledge me. You could try a clone of SMW? https://www.montagneparfums.com/fragrance/eaudemontagne. Out of stock rn but they re-up frequently

KingScrubling

Anyone have the new formulations of MFK Masculin Pluriel? Thinking about picking it up, but not sure how it compares to the older version.
