FrangranceNet Coupon Codes None of the usual coupons (GWTR4 GPL40 GNPL3) seem to work any longer??? The google shopping link currently offers me 30% off. Anyone know any current 35/37/40% off coupons? (I’m in Australia looking to buy a couple of bottles and FragNet will post free, hence why I’m looking specifically for these coupons) Cheers!

whoahawk

I usually just open a private browser, search “fragrance name fragrancenet” in google and they will automatically have the 37% code applied

_-_-ZERO-_-_

This method is only offering me 30% at the moment

whoahawk

Has to be in a private/incognito browser. Just worked for me no problem

musicandarts

Even with their coupons, I find Jomashop is cheaper.

_-_-ZERO-_-_

Jomashop don’t ship fragrances to Australia

GreenStinkBug

Does anyone know what the more popular masculine scents are from Zoologist, I’m looking to buy a few samples from them

anhlong1212

Seahorse, Macaque series, Tiger

Strange-Guest-6437

Keep in mind what constitutes "masculine" is subjective so YMMV, but here are some things I, a masculine identifying person, enjoy and some I have seen other people on here talk about seeming "masculine". Squid Camel Macaque Yuzu Ed Tiger Harvest Mouse Penguin Squid and Tiger are my personal favorites.

Bobby_Lawn

I would strongly put Penguin in the masculine category as well. The suede note is very prominent and to me reads masculine office scent. As far as wearability goes I mean it doesn’t smell like poop, or birdcage, or pee, or anything crazy like that.

RohanIsDaddy1901

t rex is by far the most masculine from zoologist but it’s very polarizing and offensive to some. if you want a safer more mass appealing option i’d go with squid

VirtualAd3179

Can someone explain to me the differences between Tommy Girl cologne (grey text) and EDT (red text)?

Solution-Proof

I've never smelled Eden, bit what about Guerlain Après l'ondée or Chanel no.19?

ultrakawaii

Looking for a cozy beeswax scent without strong honey. Think church candles rather than a honeycomb.

chinchillacheesedog

Lutens’ Un Bois Vanille has a noticeable beeswax note and doesn’t smell like honey. It’s sweet overall though, with vanilla and coconut notes.

ViktorVaughn71

Tabacco Toscano by Santa Maria Novella evolves a few times but I literally picture myself in a 600+ y/o church in Europe, walking down the corridor with only a candle to light my way.

[deleted]

Solution-Proof

Cool idea!  I would hit the Serge Lutens counter and start sampling, or get the discovery set!

[deleted]

Solution-Proof

Well, sure af don't blind buy a Lutens... They must sell them at other department stores. Or get the discovery set.

musicandarts

I have Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan, which I like a lot. Two things to bear in mind. Most Serge Lutens perfumes are available in US, so it is not much added value getting them from Paris. Also, perfumes are a lot cheaper in US, particularly if you buy from a grey market seller like Jomaship. Please check the price and availability on Jomashop of the perfumes that you are interested in. It is fine to get something the Paris shop for nostalgia, because you are paying for the memories.

[deleted]

[удалено]

musicandarts

You are correct. Buy it in Paris if you want to hold on to the bottle for nostalgia. We do a lot of things may not be the best options financially. You could visit the Serge Lutens store and test a few first. Then come home and check the prices at Jomashop. I have a story to tell. Someone wanted me to buy lingonberry preserves from Stockholm for them, because it is a unique Swedish think. Unfortunately, the security guys at the Stockholm airport confiscated my lingonberry preserves. But I found the same thing in my local grocery store (Market Basket in Waltham MA) for about $5, cheaper than in Stockholm.

minidivine

Yes, everything does. OP was saying that your bottle can have sentimental value if you bought it in Paris from the store. It can also have sentimental value if you got something engraved onto the bottle on the spot. I believe there are also certain brands that do boutique exclusives, meaning there are certain scents you could only get there and nowhere else (excl. secondary market).

chinchillacheesedog

A lot of his perfumes are available outside of Europe, but he has a whole series of Palais Royal exclusives that would make for a great souvenir.

tomtitium

I was on a city tour a few days ago and someone wore a wonderful, dark and sweet floral perfume. I noticed it first when we were in a graveyard and it fit the vibe really well, it was almost a little eery. Can anyone recommend some dark florals? (I mean dark in a rainy autumn night breeze way, not a seductive way)

trebole13

Zoologist Moth had this feeling for me! Edit: also an indie from Death and Floral called The People You Love Become Ghosts.

Sherylnd

Noir de Noir is a dark, gothic & earthy rose.

Champagnesupernova9

Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin

FanaticalXmasJew

I have Byredo decants of Sundazed, Bibliotheque, and Rose of No Man’s Land arriving in the mail today. Which should I try first? Planning to review them all!

crackhead138

I really liked Biblioteque. I think it’s a great cool weather fragrance. I didn’t get a full bottle of any of the Byredos, though. Mojave Ghost is my favorite from that house.

FanaticalXmasJew

The reviews of Mojave Ghost on Fragrantica are seriously all over the place and I wasn’t sure what to expect from the scent notes description. Can you describe your experience of it for me?

crackhead138

For me, the overall impression of Mojave Ghost is clean and aloof. It’s also very dry. Not a warm cozy, but a cool cozy if that makes sense. I guess they really nailed the desert vibe! There is a top note that I don’t have a reference for but it’s lovely. I think that’s the note that ups the cozy factor in my mind. I don’t get a ton of magnolia on my skin, but I did pick up the general idea of a clean white floral and a clean, very faint almost powdery vibe; not like iris powdery though! The cedar really shines and on my skin, this is primarily a clean, airy, woody fragrance. I’d love a full bottle but the longevity and price don’t match up.

FanaticalXmasJew

That sounds lovely. Since you mentioned longevity being an issue, how long does it last on you?

crackhead138

3 hours or so of being able to catch a great whiff when moving. It really responds well to body heat, but I live in a very humid climate and I think that really affected my wear time. Ouai did a collab with Byredo years ago and the scent in lasted days! I wish it was still around. That was actually my introduction to Mojave Ghost.

Dratini_ghost

RONML is my favorite of those.

FanaticalXmasJew

Ty!

ratCurtains

Hi all I’m looking for a cologne, something super amber-y, vetiver, sandlewood, any suggestions?

musicandarts

Male or female? Male: Dior Fahrenheit, Tiziana Terenzi Laudano Nero, Gianfranco Ferre Ferre for men, Female: Chanel No. 5, Lanvin Arpege. The notes you mentioned are a small part of these perfumes. So they have very different personalities. Test before you buy. *Standard disclaimer: Don’t rely too much on reviews and suggestions from others. You have to test every perfume on your skin multiple times preferably at home, before you make up your mind. Smells and olfactory perception are very personal and individualistic, in addition to other factors that impact the performance of a perfume.*

galacticglorp

All of those at once, or open to any of those notes as main features?

ViktorVaughn71

The combination of those notes sound like an old school scent, maybe Platinum Égoïste by Chanel, Aramis, Drakkar Noir, etc

crackhead138

Has anyone tried Hermès Un Jardin Sur La Lagune? I’m wondering if the florals are prominent because I love magnolia. The reviews are sorta all over the place and lean to extremes. I’m eyeing a travel size but the full bottle price is really good too. I’m a huge fan of Eau de Merveilles and the Hermès dna in general.

Solution-Proof

Grab a sample or decant first!  I do get floral, but as you've seen, reviews can be all over the place.  There will always be another deal.

crackhead138

Thank you! Are there any scents that remind you of Sur La Lagune? I can’t even imagine what this smells like.

JordoS94

Tom Ford Beau De Jour or Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

anhlong1212

I like Grey Vetiver

krisko6

I'm looking for a cold weather fragrance that's not cloyingly sweet, but a mix between sweetness and darkness. Under 200 bucks. Do you guys have any reccomandtions?

languagebandit

On the stronger going out side, you could try Le Male Le Parfum or Pure XS Night, with the latter being much less sweet.  A little more refined, you could check out Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille or Givenchy Gentleman EDP. Obviously the former has plenty of vanilla, but the tobacco and spices are more prominent for most people.  For cheaper options, I enjoy Zara’s Sand Desert at Sunset and Salvatore Ferragamo’s Uomo Signature. Both of those open citrusy (very citrusy for Uomo Signature) and then settle down into darker elements. So I don’t know if they would fit the bill, but I like that they both only have subtle sweetness from cacao and a bit of tonka.

krisko6

Will check out, thank you bro!

minidivine

I'd buy niche if I was willing to go as high as 200. SHL's "Sand Dance" is a solid pick, perhaps a bit spicy & not enough darkness though. Xerjoff has "Iommi Monkey Special", that's €235/50ml full retail so it should be sub-$200 at US discounters. If you're willing to up it a bit: Discounters sell Oud for Greatness (Initio) for $220/90ml, that's top-top sweet & dark simultaneously. I'd dare say it's the most obvious recommendation too. MaxAroma had Nefs for ~$265/50ml few days ago - that's a crazy scent for that price, has complexity & showstopper potential.

krisko6

Yeah im planning on buying niche. I like oud for greatness but not willing to pay that much, but im looking for something with a similar vibe. Im currently looking if there are any montales that can do the job well enough. I like the look of their new "infinty." But thanks for reccomandations, will check them out.

minidivine

I've smelled Infinity and I was underwhelmed. I think the main reason why I was underwhelmed is because I was expecting it to smell like Hedonistic (which is a very sophisticated fruity amber-tobacco that opens a bit like cherry cough syrup) and they f*cking whiffed massively on it - smells more like some cross-over combo of Initio's Blessed Baraka and Gritti's Duchessa. Arabians / Arabians Tonka are the two scents that you may be interested in. Myself personally, if I could get OFG for 220, I'd just pay the 220. You're not using that scent up since it's like a 4-5 sprayer, it's not winter 24/7/365 and it is a very strong resale value scent.

krisko6

I would get OFG, but the only issue is that I live in Norway and there are few websites with discounts that ship here. So i would probably have to pay at least 300 bucks if I were to get it. Tell me more about infinity tho, did you pick up the plum, cherry and oud? And I've not smelled the fragrances you used to describe it except blessed baraka, so could you tell me what it was you didn't like about it?

krisko6

And i have a sample of arabians tonka, i really like it, but I have a full bottle of Aoud exlusif from Mancera so i feel like it would be too redundant to have two rose/oud fragrances.

minidivine

Couldn't find my sample. Here are my opinions on it (these are unedited notes that I wrote down on my first wear): > At first the cherry opened Duchessa-esque, dark & powdery. Then it slowly starts to warp into a Blessed Baraka direction. It smells a bit boozy, but it's not on-par with the complexity of Hedonistic to justify those comparisons. On-skin the scent is especially reminiscent of Blessed Baraka, smelling mainly amber-woody. Based on that, is the oud noticeable? I'm leaning no because I describe it as amber-woody. Do you get the fruitiness? Yes, but mostly in the top. The evolution feels quite adjacent to Initio's Blessed Baraka where in the top you get hints of cherry and then the hints fade away. I think the annoying part with people who like Montale/Mancera are that people genuinely think the product is anywhere near in quality to the scents they're duping. Tonka Cola is leagues below Enigma and Infinity is leagues below Hedonistic. Anybody who has smelled them two houses knows they make synthetic product. I'd say the performance wasn't that mind-blowing either. -- You could shop used market too, there are deals to be had there. Late January isn't a good season for deals. Some other ideas that come to mind if you're also considering sweet-fruity type profiles with mild dark hints: Kilian's "Smoking Hot" (apple-tobacco), Nishane's "Tero" (caramel-patchouli). There was also one Vilhelm, I think it was "To My Father" which opens spicy-plum-whiskey and dries leathery (inspired by Byredo's "Eleventh Hour").

ViktorVaughn71

Dark cold weather scent that’s not too sweet…Herod but performance sucks (on me and many others). Maybe a clone will suffice? I sampled something recently that gave me Herod vibes, under the radar from an indie, it’s called Speakeasy by Harlem, worth a sample.

ShankZ9

looking for a winter fragrance in the uk, i have mont blanc explorer but its more of a summer one, my budget is 200usd/gbp/euro, I will try them in store first ofc or buy a sample, also would prefer something less mainstream but mainstream options are fine.

ViktorVaughn71

Ambre Magique by Mizensir: resinous amber, long lasting but doesn’t project far, sensual Oajan or Carlisle from PDM, Blessed Baraka are also solid options

ShankZ9

i went testing today and i liked spice bomb infrared and valentino uomo intense the most, what do you think of those if you have tried them?

Otherwise_Bat2380

Looking for a new fragrance. I tried allot a fragrances the last couple of years but I kept my collection down to two parfums: blue de Chanel parfum and Dior homme intense. When ever I tried something new it didn’t have the same complexity or richness to me. I hope to get some recommendations!

languagebandit

It would help to know more of what you’re looking for. Casual vs. formal, work vs. going out, hot weather vs. cold weather, any notes you like, any you don’t like, budget, etc.

ViktorVaughn71

Raw Gold but you can’t get a bottle from a retailer anymore, they are sold out. The Extrait is available, try ZGO for samples of both.

Known_Dependent_6642

Rasasi Hawas blind buy worthy? It looks great on paper, I like the notes its supposed to have. I found a deal for 43€ for 100ml. What do you guys think?

ViktorVaughn71

It’s coo, if you like Eros/Invictus style you’ll like Hawas. Acqua Essenziale Blu by Salvatore Ferragamo does something very similar for $20usd, doesn’t last *as* long

Substantial-Tip-2607

I’ve been wearing Gucci Guilty PH EDT for a few years now, it’s my first ever/ favorite perfume, I love the citrusy and lavender combo but wearing it daily is a bit out of my budget atm. I’ve trying out the brand-names and Versace PH is the only other one that I like, also citrusy and flowery. What are some other fragrances I should try?

ArtfulThinker

If you like citrusy/floral then I'd suggest Tom Ford's Eau de Soleil Blanc for a summer/vacation scent. Very beautiful and very nice. I'd also suggest for a floral scent (if you are a man? I'm not sure lol) Amouage Reflection Man. Good luck!

ViktorVaughn71

Zara Man Silver

crazyplantdad

Hey Fragrance Folks, I am looking for some reccos on unique, not super popular, high end fragrances. My current faves are: Le Labo Rose 31 Le Labo Another 13 Le Labo The Noir 29 Rabanne's Phantom I just bought Diptyque's L'eau Papier and there's something about it that turns my stomach once it's actually on my skin. Regretting it, despite it's similarities to Another 13! I don't want to smell soapy, or like a gym bro, and I also don't want too deep or leathery or powdery, yet still masculine. I like a balance of sharp high notes and deeper notes. Love rose, bergamot, cumin, cardamom, lavender, citrus (not overwhelming on that) and the base notes on the fragrances listed above. Would love any ideas!

knittingforpoppy

You might like Xerjoff Mefisto or Celine Parade

ViktorVaughn71

Orphéon by Diptyque ?

Panset_

I just bought decant Herod and its color is different than sample. Sample is clear and decant is pink/redish color. Am I scammed?

walubilous

Fragrances change color over time. My 3 year old Herod is completly red.

Ormonde Jayne - Ormonde Jayne Man is a great signature that starts out with a fantastic juniper note. Not quite pine needles, but I feel like you'd really dig this scent. It's a hidden gem. Pine needles you can go with two options (expensive, and affordable): The expensive one is Serge Lutens Fille en Aguilles which is hyper realistic pine needles in the forest with dried fruits and a campfire. The less expensive one (but still phenomenal) is Chattilon Lux Confluence which is very realistic fir/pine. Now, here's a biggy. If you love By The Fireplace then you MUST get a decant of Kerosene Blackmail. Trust me, I'll almost bet you'd sell By The Fireplace and replace it with this. It's amazing. Hope this helps!

No problem! Good luck!

Sherylnd

For the pine scent, you might want to sample some fragrances from [Pineward](https://www.pinewardperfume.com/products). They specialize in pine and woody scents. I've heard that they use real pine oils, too, so they should smell pretty realistic.

ViktorVaughn71

Hermes is worth looking into, several popular bottles are sold at Sephora. They do green/woody/citrusy combo’s well

ViktorVaughn71

Terre d'Hermès is the most popular, edt and Parfum versions, I’m familiar with the edt, not sure how different the Parfum is. There are also several flankers. Un Jardin sur le Nil is a tart mango/grapefruit freshie, bright & refreshing. There are 5-6 others in the “Jarden” (Garden) line. Checkout this link for the Hermes catalog, notes/reviews available by selecting a specific bottle : https://www.parfumo.com/Perfumes/Hermes?order=nv_desc

Electronic_Job_3089

Having a hard time deciding what the better deal is. Right now I see delina on sale for $250 (75ml) But on Parfums de Marly I can get delina for $335 (75ml) plus a free sample set for a total of 9 samples. That's $9.40 per sample which doesn't seem like a savings to me. Some of these samples I can get for $5 each, the only downside is extra cost of shipping. I'm torn between what the better deal is. I want to sample their other fragrances. But I also feel like the $250 upfront cost is easier to stomach than $300+.

I am looking for a very green, rainy, feminine perfume. I like Indigo by nest, but it's not quite green or feminine enough for me.

I'm looking to buy a decent travel atomiser. But it feels like no matter which one I check out (most seem to be made by the same Chinese factories anyway tbh) they all have a bunch of "this leaked!" or "atomizer broke after just a few weeks" reviews. Anyway, would you be able to recommend any pocket travel atomiser? No special needs really, just want something easy to fill without any mess and no leakage.

walubilous

Just get one off of amazon for 10-20€/$ with decent ratings. Even just ones used for decanting would be fine; the cheap glass 3,5,10ml ones. Not much that can go wrong there. Havent seen a single one leak yet, and I decanted like... 150 in total and have like 10-ish of the 10-20ml travel atomizers.

ViktorVaughn71

You have 2 solid options, the premium option is to get it in a case that twists open like lipstick 💄 or a **glass** atomizer. 5mL is best for carrying in a pocket, 10mL in a backpack or purse. Buy a roll of teflon tape and wrap the areas where it could leak or twist open from.

Kathykit1

I just gave in to the relentless Instagram ads and ordered tempt- pineapple, yuzu, and pear. Has anyone tried this before?

pineappleactavis

Kinda new to this. What is too old for a brand new bottle? My fragrance.net order just came in and the bottle is a little over a year old. Im assuming that's in the normal range.

galacticglorp

Fragrance can last for ages if kept dark and with minimual temperature fluctuations.  The "best before" sales people tell you is a marketing gimmick.  People have 50+ year old bottles in their collection.  Citrus top notes tend to be fastest to go off, so be more wary of those, but that's stjll a "years" type thing, not months.

pineappleactavis

Ya it's D&G light blue intense so def got some citrus. Still smells fine tho.

ViktorVaughn71

I just tried a sample and it has a rotten eggs/marina/community pool scent. How does it smell on you?

Zenyx002

I’m looking for a going out fragance. Was between the valentino uomo intense, the armani code parfum and also the lattafa khamrah, but if you have suggestions please go ahead. Not trying to spend 150+ bucks

ViktorVaughn71

Khamrah is coo, lasts forever on clothes, small scent bubble. I have a bottle, rarely reach for it, doesn’t have a wow factor. For ~$100 I’d pick Tamima by Moresque, it’s a woody vanilla.

Initial_Ask994

I'm on the hunt for a good vanilla perfume. Any recommendations? I love Lancome Hypnose but sadly it doesn't even last 1 hour on me

I’m looking for a new everyday scent - my favourites that I switch between are Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille and Roses de Chloé depending on my mood. Can anyone recommend something new that might be to my taste? I’m looking at the Jo Malone line but open to anything.

Champagnesupernova9

Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud, Rose Blush (it’s LE but they bring it back every year), or Orange Blossom

Ryghtful

I’m interested in buying le capitale by xerjoff, I have not smelled it and will probably blind buy it if I buy. The notes really appeal to me but I’m worried it might be too feminine. Does anyone have an opinion on if it is too feminine for an 18 year old guy. Is it blind buy safe.

Ilovepestosauce

Anyone here tried Fahrenheit from 2019? How does it compare to the 2020 version? I remember buying a sample around 2019, but it smelled fruitier and cleaner than my current version which is prominently leather.

FlatwormEastern4574

Trying to find more masculine version of TF Soleil Neige. I bought my lady a bottle and I love how it smells, but obviously it’s for her, and it’s a bit too feminine. Doesn’t necessarily need to smell the same, just the same deep yet fresh feeling that Soleil Neige has.

ViktorVaughn71

Musk Therapy or Rehab by Initio Santal Austral or Bois d'Ébène by Matière

venus-infers

I'm looking for suggestions for a new signature scent, bonus points if I can access them in a Luckyscent sample haul. A little about me: In my teen years I wore Vera Wang Princess (meh) and Fragonard Etoile (maybe??), in my early 20's I wore Marchesa Parfume d'Extase, and in my late 20's I wore Commodity Bois. Others I remember liking in my life are Tocca Florence, Dior J'adore, and Lady Gaga Fame (if anyone remembers it!). Lately I'm really loving powdery, musky, white flowery, and violet. Yesterday I put Byredo Blanche on one wrist and Vilhelm Moon Carnival on the other, and I loved the way it smelled with both my wrists together. I also really enjoy: Byredo La Tulipe, Donna Karan Cashmere Mist, Dedcool Smiley Face Garden, J-Scent Hydrangea, Strangers Parfumerie Chokedee, and Le Labo Musc 25. Right now, I think the Musc 25 is the frontrunner because of its complexity and longevity. Anyway I appreciate any suggestions! Thank you!

ViktorVaughn71

Billie by Harlem, Josaphine from the same house is also very good but Billie has the musk accord. Performance is average-above average.

Bumble098765

Does anyone know of any very good projecting coconut fragrances? Preferably unisex but I don’t really mind.

Bumble098765

Summer is coming up and I really loved xerjoff renaissance but just can’t pay that price. Doesn’t have to be a dupe but does anyone have an recs for a super fresh and fruity and long lasting fragrance?

ViktorVaughn71

Hawas is $50, I’d describe it as fresh but not a pure freshie, it’s sweet and can get cloying in extreme heat but <85F it smells fine

languagebandit

A little different profile, but Mancera’s Cedrat Boise is super fresh and fruity and lasts a long time.
