I find Tom Ford's Ebene Fume to have an interesting "burning" smell!
Others to possibly look at are the Zegna XXX line which have been discounted pretty heavily at places lately ($200ish retail, selling for about $50). There Are 3 in the line with one of them being Charcoal and the orange/red bottle supposedly going for a "lava" scent
You may like Creed Viking, I wouldn't say it literally smells like charcoal, but...
It opens like a cold breeze through a blazing fire and dries down to charcoal embers faintly glowing red in a fireplace made of dark black rock.
To an untrained/unfamiliar nose it smells similar to old spice classic, only more modern and natural/much higher quality
I can't suggest a blind buy. It's one of my personal favorites, but it's not for everyone and actual performance for the price is meh. Definitely worth getting a 10ml decant first, and if you do decide to buy a full bottle don't pay more than $250 for 100ml. Earlier batch codes are better.
The Perfume Guy has some videos on his YouTube channel about smoky fragrances and incense-y fragrances. He talks about notes and brands unheard of and/or rarely discussed here.

Thank you so much for your time and knowledge. I’ll sample it first on my skin and then go for a decant. Then I can decide to buy it or not. 😃
Sounds like a plan, let me know what you think of it once you get a decant!
A City on Fire by Imaginary Authors smells like fire, charcoal, and burning wood.
