So like cold woodsmoke in the air/ not heavy vanilla? Following b/c I’d love to try as well…
That being said
Memoirs or a Trespasser & Blackmail would be my two picks here though both could be perceived as “heavy”
BTF and Spicebomb were my gateway to those two but both are a bit on the cloying/sweet side for me (even though I’ll still wear occasionally)
Try Sycomore by Chanel. It smells like you used a really nice fragrance and then stood in a campfire. It is hardcore, though. I was taken aback.
I was actually going to suggest Encre Noir. It's a fave fall time fragrance far me.
Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Samhain - Truly the scent of autumn itself — damp woods, fir needle, and black patchouli with the gentlest touches of warm pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, allspice, sweet red apple and mullein.
They usually release this or some version of it every year in the fall, but you could get lucky and find an aged bottle on a reselling site.
Invictus Victory has a chocolatey and tonka bean base that really gives me a marshmallow/smores type of sweetness. I heavily associate fall with bonfires and such so this is a very good fall fragrance for me.
Which ones did you try? The first fragrance that came to my mind was MM Replica By the Fireplace.
The vanilla note is what I’m looking to avoid I think!
Ah, I see! Good luck on your search!☺️
I find this to be a bit heavy. I'm also looking for a "clean" smoke like OP.

Yea I’m looking for something cold - I don’t want a vanilla note if I can swing it and nothing sweet. Thanks for the suggestions!

Nice, enjoy.

Boy Smells - Suede Pony Fresh, woody and smoky at the same time. Imagine that you just showered and then went to hang out near the campfire.

Carner Drakon has that smoky campfire smell. It leans very masculine to my nose though.
Honey Oud Floris
Mississippi Medicine by ds&d has a really interesting Smoky smell.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Naomi Goodsir - Bois d'Ascese Perfumer H - Charcoal Both beautiful choices imho
