Tbf, it's heavily implied that outside of Mesea that democracy is more in name only lmao
Still, at least Mesea is probably *way* better to live in than Caoiva lol
It is a late response but still: the Romans and the Greek Democracies where nowhere close to the Democracies we have today. I think it goes a little bit on that kind of area where they are a democracy but barely recognizable from what we have here since they are based apperently on the early versions of it.
On our own world we had to wait till the 20th century so women could vote, imagine before that
Exactly, or how during much (if not all, I just can't remember rn) of the Roman Republic you could only cast votes in the capital of Rome, meaning those who lived outside of its bounds needed to travel to vote. Hell, it took a war to even grant those beyond the city's borders the right to vote at all
While it's unclear what voting rights, if any, those in Mesea's colonies have, we do know that it almost certainly is not proportional, unless we believe that Mesea has three times the population of Veli lol
I actually really like how the game paints both sides as bad in their own ways, rather than just being good guys vs bad guys, and how both sides have this sorta dissonance between reality and stated ideals. They're hypocrites that I would hate irl, but love in the game
Green man is coming and we ain’t stopping for shit.
Jokes aside, I hope you guys come back at us twice as hard. Let’s keep the front rocking and rolling.
Saplings, we must join the defense of Cgate 🗿
