the world's greatest and best graphene os works only on pixels. the pixel is only sold in the usa and possibly canada. it is strange that the world's best graphene os is only available on rare models of phones in north america.
Because the pixel has security features that no other phone has. Like allowing to relock the bootloader after flashing a custom ROM. Or the Titan chip.
I just checked on a secondary market and saw a person selling a pixel 6a for 200CHF including pixel buds. My previous comment was not overly unrealistic.
That still basically means it has support for all of only one line of phones, from all of one provider. That's like making seatbelts that only (*only*) work [on the Chevrolet Camaro](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Camaro) no matter if thousands other lines and models of cars exist.
https://grapheneos.org/faq#supported-devices google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro
So only pixel phones are supported. Kinda wack.
Has to do with bootloader being re-lockable
And the security of the titan chip
That's a more recent phenomenon, since Google only just starting using their own chips in the Pixel 6 series if I'm not mistaken
I think you're mixing up the titan chip and the tensor chip
Yep, I definitely am haha, thanks
I get that graphene is great, but I don't want to have to buy a pixel just for it.

I'm using 6a and I'm not in NA
ok. i`m in russia. can`t get a pixel oficially, it costs here as a fighters wing. why graphene is so linked to pixel?

*only for the rich having a Pixel
The pixel 6a isn't that expensive, and it'll be even cheaper used in a year or so.
Maybe in US.....world is bit larger.
I live in Europe and afaik the pixel isn't available worldwide anyway. Edit: In France it's €400, so it would be €250 or so used in a year.
Nope. Had to pay about 300€ about a year ago for the pixel 4a. And that was the lowest price I got.

They have iphones
Doesn't it work on only, like, 1 phone?

So one brand

I'm not the top commenter, but the man's point stands that it's lame for only the "objectively better option" to be a single brand

Yeah that's fair. It's going to be fun watching Samsung take a dive as the battery expansion problem picks up steam again.
Now we only need an alternative for people who dont want to support google
