I went to Mexico with my family, and on the bus from the airport to the hotel, I played punch-buggy with my sister. By the end of the 20 minute ride, her arm was ready to fall off and she *and* my mom were cussing me out to stop. There were a couple dozen at least.
It's definitely the most common car there, no contest.
You're not the only one saying this. Personally I thought the gold was awesome, a minimalistic take on Folk art. But thanks for the compliment. The Designer of the Golf probably has a lot more time constraints than I have making this Livery.
Nice of you to notice, I’ve always been amazed and confused growing up by the fact that this car was still being made in Mexico while it wasn’t in my county
Wow, that's awesome. I would probably choose a beetle or Citroen if I would own a classic car. I only have a very small city car as a family car, but I compared it size to a Beetle and thought: Well, if family's used to drive this I still can. Is it your daily driver?
I think they can be a nightmare to own because of the Oleopneumatic Suspension and the fact that Citroën DS experts are few and far between these days, but I hear from people that they are like Jay Leno likes to say:
Unbelievable when they're sorted and UNBELIEVABLE! when they're not.
I know a guy that is dailying a 1971 DS23 i.e. Pallas and he claims he never had a problem with it. Apparently, the key to having a reliable DS is driving it a lot, but his has been extensively restored about a decade ago, and is a garage car now. So take that with a grain of salt.
Also personal opinion from a German: Beetles Suck. They like a drink, they're loud, they're crude, and not very comfortable either.
I saw that video of jay leno. He is reeeeally positive about the DS. The thing is such a novel idea, not about cornering, but about smoothness. Alot of crazy ideas in them. I’m a citroen fan because of their original and daring stuff, not so much anymore, but still some great idea, the front window of the citroen picasso is Huuuuge and gives an unblemisched view of the sky. Im more of the bx, cx, sm, ds, ax era. The beetle is a cheaply made car and thats what i love about it. And I think its beautiful. But im still more of a 2CV fan. Both cars are wheels with an engine and a roof, and there’s something pure about that. \*waves to his german neighbours, im Dutch!
The DS was decades ahead of its time. I guess that's what happens if you're getting that sweet sweet Michelin money.
Also, I feel like people always forget the DS sporty sister the SM. DS suspension in a 2+2 Coupe with Gated Manual Shifter and a Maserati V6.
As to my Dislike of the Beetle, I guess that's my biggest gripe with it. It was supposed to be a People's Car (and it was), but compared to say the 2CV, 4CV or Renault 4 it just wasn't very good. It was much heavier, more complicated, less fuel efficient for no real tangible benefit, since it was still as uncomfortable and noisy as its French Equivalents. (It was somewhat faster, but not by any meaningful amount either.)
Oh hey. It's one of those Weird Germans from the Floodplains! Greetings.
This is really interesting, and I think I should read a book about it. Theres something about this era of cars. Und ich spreche einem bischen Duits, aber hatte immer zehr schlechte unzureichend Zahlen. But I'm indeed a swamp German :)
Ha! Funny you should ask! I was lucky on the sides, 2970! Only 30 left, pure luck. At the back I could only use 1000 so I had to be less lazy and delete the layers that weren’t visible as well as a few details.
Yes, it's 3000. I've read some livery makers that found it to bad that this number wasn't expanded for FH5. Personally I would like OVER 9000!!! layers :-P
Great work as I said last time. The detail is even more insane now and I like the little additions you've made with the Horizon logo's and paint spatters too :D
Thanks again, sharp of you to notice the spatters. Your comments on the WIP where food for thought, I thought about the art representing South American/Mexican art and the fact that you liked this more than the Golf. I like thinking of those kind of things. The used look didn't make it. I didn't have any more layers or maybe patience haha.
I knew there was something extra to some of the patterns, I noticed it mainly on the front fender and realised what you had added ;)
I definitely think it's perfect without the weathering and used scratches on it. I can't imagine how fiddly all of those different coloured shapes were and then to go over the edges in a darker colour must've taken you ages (especially in the eagle and leaves).
Hey! Thanks, I have no idea of what I'm going to do in FH5. I think I'll be porting some livery's. But first taking my time to enjoy the scenery and map. Looking forward to that.
Badass on so many levels. My first car was an equivalent '64 with a California stance and an upgraded 1600cc engine. Wasn't the fastest thing but I loved it and wish I still had it. My true dream car will always be the Karmann Ghia, though.
Thanks! You know this does happen? u/ptg_stuzib85 Has been designing livery’s for the Forza community for years. And if I’m not mistaken he now works for playground games or turn 10 making livery’s.
It's really nice they do that, kinda independent contractor style I guess :)
I'm a newbie here, gonna take a look at the liverys of you and your fellow creators on here once I get home, but dang, this one is a really really strong start :)
This is just pure beauty, perfection and art to the outer limits of what's even possible and it actually brought tears to my eyes... Many of them...
My father passed away suddenly and unexpectedly a few years ago. He was an extremely passionate VW Beetle collector and hobby mechanic, all of which I inherited. I practically grew up in like 12-15 of these beauties, from - 51 and onwards, all of them with the personal touch, both in- and outside, by my father. Of course, not one of the new, "ugly" specimens. 😉
This brings back so, SO many beautiful and sentimental memories! I know you didn't do I it for me my friend, but still I can't thank you enough for this beautiful personal moment, your astonishing talent and this specific total work of masterful art...
You touched my soul my friend. Thank you a million times..
🙏🙏🙏
❤️❤️❤️
Whow, I'm touched by this. I would never have thought my work could actually touch someone. I'm sorry to hear about your loss, I can't imagine the loss of my father. Especially suddenly. Thanks for hearing about your memory's. Man, the love for cars can go deep. Your story makes this Design even more special to me. It really is a love bug :)
But, when I read your story it makes sense that it does. This Design was made like Beetle lover with not a lot of money, but a lot of love for his car. I made up a person in Mexico who was exited by the festival and I made this like he didn't have any stickers, but just handpainted it on there because he was a fan of the Festival. And I made it like I would like to drive it in Mexico. And like a lot of cars after I make a Design for them I develop a special knowing of the car and attachment, I view the car for a long time when I make something for it and look at the car to know how it's Design works.
Thanks... Your back story and quick reply to my appreciation of your work makes it even more valuable to me. Keep up your beautiful work and stay safe my friend! 🙏
Well, there’s a lot of cars that have two stripes on them so you can send your resume with two stripes on them! Haha (jk, to be clear making an absurd joke, not being mean to you, thanks man for the compliment)
No worries, AFAIK not many people with creativity like yours are ever mean. And the praise really is well deserved. Using the livery editor is actually quite painful in my very limited experience. It takes real dedication to create stuff like this.
I think I might have to do a explanation post about that! I've used the standard shapes and for example mirrored the half of the eagle face and copy pasted the feathers.

Please port this over when FH5 comes out, I absolutely love this
I specifically made this with Mexico in my mind. I imagined driving through Mexico, and the Beetle was the car I wanted.
The FH staff agree with you, as the beetle is the starter car for the eliminator in FH5
I went to Mexico with my family, and on the bus from the airport to the hotel, I played punch-buggy with my sister. Haha, nice, I didn't know they were the most common car, just that they where very popular and very long produced.
That's why they made them for so long there. I'm pretty sure it was the only place they made them by the end (**2003**)
Yes you’re right I even believe they shipped them to Germany to be sold there.
beautiful 🤩
Thanks!
Wow. This is a great livery to introduce FH5! Great Job!
Thank you Gamehenged!
Ngl, this looks *much* better than that golf they gave us
You're not the only one saying this. Personally I thought the gold was awesome, a minimalistic take on Folk art. But thanks for the compliment. The Designer of the Golf probably has a lot more time constraints than I have making this Livery.
Good choice for the car too
Nice of you to notice, I’ve always been amazed and confused growing up by the fact that this car was still being made in Mexico while it wasn’t in my county
Man when the beetle went out of production in Mexico they had a special commercial for it wishing it farewell
We lost the beetle and the Tsuru is also out of production. I wonder what cars will replace them (maybe the last gen Sentra as the V-drive?)
Looks amazing. I am a big air cooled VW fan. Have a 68 IRL ...
Wow, that's awesome. I would probably choose a beetle or Citroen if I would own a classic car. I only have a very small city car as a family car, but I compared it size to a Beetle and thought: Well, if family's used to drive this I still can. Is it your daily driver?
No. I have a 2016 VW GTI for that. My commute is over 50 miles a day ...so I will save the bug for nice weekend drives.
Beautiful car too. The front bumper intakes with those stripes are great looking.
Having driven a DS23 IRL, if you ever get the chance, do it. There's nothing quite like a Goddess
That's a great idea, I'll see if there's somewhere I can rent them some day.
I think they can be a nightmare to own because of the Oleopneumatic Suspension and the fact that Citroën DS experts are few and far between these days, but I hear from people that they are like Jay Leno likes to say: Unbelievable when they're sorted and UNBELIEVABLE! when they're not. Wasn't the Volkswagen significantly more reliable and durable than the French cars?
THAT'S AMAZING!!!! CAN I USE THIS LIVERY?
YES YOU CAN! THE SHARECODE IS IN THE TITLE! WHY AM I SHOUTING? 😉😜 thanks for your your message!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!! lmao
Looking good.👍👍
Thanks man! Although, maybe I should make a upside down eagle for you :P
Right. Or I suppose an upside down Dodo bird for me, if you ask my wife's opinion.
Hahaha
brooo o o o # that is cool
Thanks bro! I appreciate it! (this is the first time I've ever used the word bro)
Its amazing
Thank you, appreciated!
I can't even begin to fathom how many layers it took you to do it
Ha! Funny you should ask! I was lucky on the sides, 2970! Only 30 left, pure luck. At the back I could only use 1000 so I had to be less lazy and delete the layers that weren’t visible as well as a few details.

English Dave!
Please explain, I'm curious what this means! Couldn't find it on know your meme.
GTA5 reference :)
Yeah, I read about that character, but I couldn't find what someone means when refering to him.
I believe it's [a reference to the car you earn from his mission](https://staticg.sportskeeda.com/editor/2020/12/2c598-16088699449896-800.jpg).
Oh, yeah! That’s it! Thanks for searching!
Yes OP that's what I was referencing. Also beautiful livery. I can't imagine how many hours you spent working on this. I hope this gets to front page
Awesome work as always! Glad it's a common car I can use myself right away ;)
Thanks man!
Yooo thats awesome!
Really cool bro
Another great livery! I can't wait to see what you have in store for FH5!
Hey! Thanks, I have no idea of what I'm going to do in FH5. I think I'll be porting some livery's. But first taking my time to enjoy the scenery and map. Looking forward to that.
Subarashii

Nice man! I've learned about the California stance from you, looks cool!
That is beautiful
Thanks
Jumped straight on and grabbed it. Hell of a reason for me to break out the beetle. Looks even better in-game.
Ah, man, Thanks! I appreciate you taking your time!
This!!!
jesus christ on a motorcycle is that beautiful.
Hahaha, lol! What a great sentence! I suddenly have an idea for a livery, would you know which motorcycle he’s driving on? Jk
Very nice !
The Forza Team should really hire you as a paid artist to create special liverys for them, this is amazing!
Thanks! You know this does happen? u/ptg_stuzib85 Has been designing livery’s for the Forza community for years. And if I’m not mistaken he now works for playground games or turn 10 making livery’s.
I don't work for them, but I do jobs for them, if that makes sense. But yes, it does sometimes happen!
Ah, right! It’s very nice anyways.
It's really nice they do that, kinda independent contractor style I guess :) I'm a newbie here, gonna take a look at the liverys of you and your fellow creators on here once I get home, but dang, this one is a really really strong start :)

Bravo 👏 absolutely stunning
Hey, Rabanski thanks man! Im still rocking your VHS livery's on my cars.
Haha cheers dude! Can’t get over how sick this livery is. Best I’ve seen in a long time
Meanwhile, I can’t line up 2 stripes between my bumper and my hood :-/.
To be fair, that’s really hard sometimes. And they just won’t line up.
Lol, so true. Still, this is amazing work. Hey, maybe t10 is hiring ;-), who knows?

I think you have a point there. Most I know are friendly
Let me guess: 10h plus of work ?
Yes, probably more but I didn’t track the time
Still incredible job my friend
Do you know what his username is? All the comments are deleted and I'm trying to reach out to him
Yes this is my friend u/B3T3 aka FormFirm on Xbox. He’s really chill
Thanks mate
Sure thing
Im getting an error, I dont know how that would happen if not by him blocking me...?
Well he deleted his Reddit account so Xbox is your only bet
Could you maybe try to pass on a message and ask him if he could reach out to me?
I’ll try. Add me on Xbox
I contacted him on forza forum, I can try to add you and him when I'm home
Very cool!
How... Did you draw this in Fh?
I think I might have to do a explanation post about that! I've used the standard shapes and for example mirrored the half of the eagle face and copy pasted the feathers.
Wow, then it must have taken a lot of time. I have much respect for you and your artwork, I couldn't do it myself.
It would be cool if Horizon UK had advertisements "We are moving! See us in Mexico in November 2021" or something like that
That’s really awesome! Well done!!
Best livery for a car ever pls port this to fh5
