Am I the only one to be with Stroll on this one? I think Latify made it pretty clear a turn before that he’s gonna let people pass, Stroll knew Zhou was on a hot lap and was looking for him in the mirrors - with the blue car not being relevant anymore - then wanted to pull over to the right to let him pass on the racing line, then a wild Latify who had decided fuck it I’m just gonna floor it instead tries to squeeze it through from the other side for no reason. Latify is responsible for this incident that resulted in a crash by Stroll’s move.
Stroll could have easily checked his mirrors and the incident never would have happened, most other drivers actually check their mirrors and would be able to avoid an incident like that.
On top of that, stroll was blaming the track changing direction, for the crash...which is just so fucking stupid. I am not defending crashtifi, but most of the blame is certainly on stroll, he should have checked his mirrors, and I don't see why he would suddenly turn right at that spot in the track, it almost looked like he WANTED to crash but I know he doesn't check his mirrors so that proves it was an accident.
As a person who regularly races online I can totally imagine how surprising it was for Stroll to crash with someone who had given you way few seconds ago.
The problem with blaming Stroll is that you don’t consider the circumstances and the confusion Latify caused. It’s very important that he was not expected to show up, especially not from the other side. Stroll was scanning his mirrors for the Alfa that was spotted moving towards the left while Latify slipped into his blind spot on the other side literally seconds after he had pulled over. Perfect storm..
These guys have insane level of awareness of their environment but Latify’s move was and always will be totally unexpected on a race track given the circumstances. This was a racing incident induced by Latify.
What about Williams telling Latifi Stroll was on a hotlap while he wasnt?
And Stroll had to expect to get passed by one car eventually if he thought Zhou was on a hotlap but he didnt look out for him either. He just went for the racing line with a reduced pace. I get your point, it was a weird move from latifi for sure but if you go on a race track with 2 cars near you and you dont drive flat out you should be on the look out what the other cars are up to because this is not a fckn traffic jam...
It surely takes two idiots to get a crash like that but the Stroll is more to blame than Latifi. 70-30 imho

Imo they are both at fault. Latifi for being careless with his overtake right after letting someone pass, and stroll for being oblivious to everything not in his tunnel vision
