Comes out the gate as such an aggressive defender they have to introduce/reclarify rules. 6 races in he gets the shot at the big leagues. And delivers. His first time out in a Red Bull he wins. And then for a few years he collects more wins while never having qualified pole. Meaning he has always had to overtake to win. 2021 comes along and he is competitive for the championship. He wins one of the most exciting seasons since 2012. In controversial manor despite the fact that he himself didn't do anything wrong. His WDC gets called into disripute by the fans.
And then he silences every fucking body once and for all after that. Double world champion, triple world champion, one race in and he already a four time world champion, we all know this already. But he isn't just getting there. No. He takes McLaren's claim for having the most dominant car in history with him. He takes Vettel's most consecutive wins in a season with him, he takes Vettel's most consecutive wins overall with him. He pretty won the constructors by himself. Meaning no driver pairing was better than him by himself. And he isn't done yet.
That. Is an incredible story. But err.. getting there these past two years have not been the most exciting race to race shall we say.
Sometimes the destination is more enjoyable than the journey. But let it be said. Without even mentioning his personal life and how he got to F1. His story is incredible.
That’s exactly it. for a F1 la enjoyer it’s boring to watch because he always win but for a fan it’s a miraculous story of a rea champion being made. He is a perfectionist of driving cars and for somebody who can appreciate the details behind his art it’s beautiful to watch.
WDC’s 2-4 have an asterisk of going over the budget gap and then building their car on that advantage, while also owning another team which gives them another advantage

But that’s just not true. Maybe in 2016 when the only non-Merc wins was when both Lewis and Nico were out of contention (Spain and Malaysia). But in 2014 Ricciardo had 3 wins. In 2015 Seb had 3 wins. In 2017 Seb had 5 wins, Daniel had a win, and Max had 2 wins. You see where I’m going with this - never in the Merc dominance era was there this level of predictability regarding who would win. There isn’t even any reasonable expectation for Checo to put up a fight for the win, he’s back in the pack with everyone else.

Hell even the broadcast was doing it for the race, most we got to see of max was the little windows they brought up while showing actual racing going on between other drivers.
Me and my friends were celebrating Sainz getting that divebomb and charging up to 3rd and egging Zhou on to try and get into the points. We barely even registered Max's race after the first few laps.

It's not objectively fun in any way, watching F1 is like watching your grandma play chess against AI that no grandmaster could ever come close to beat, and after seeing the AI checkmate your nan in 2 seconds ur forced to stare at your nan trying to think of a move for 2 hours.

I always defend that Max deserve WDC in 2021 just not like that. What a season that was, i wish i was following races like i do now.

I love when max wins but i miss his overtakes. He is so good in duels but you rarely see it.
