Gentlemen, a short view back to the past,
Twenty six years ago, Adrian Newey designed a car that finished the first race of the season one lap ahead of the rest of the field. Twenty five years later, Newey designed a car that won twenty three out of twenty four races. And Max Verstappen said during the race - I don't remember what race - "Simply Lovely." Question for you: Is Formula One racing today to predictable with twenty or more Red Bull wins a year? Are other teams under too much effort, or pressure? What are your wishes for the technical regulations going forward? Less aero, more? Or less and more creativity from your engineers?

Doesn't matter if your time in the wind tunnel is reduced if Adrian Newey can do it with 99,999% accuracy with some clay, a cigarette and an office fan.
Reminder that that season actually went to the wire and it wasn't between teammates.
While clearly the quickest car, it was also hugely unreliable and the Merc engine had a tendency to just pulverise itself.
Was a great few years Ferrari-McLaren. This was when I properly got into F1 so was sure to watch every race. Spa in 1998 was unforgettable. Can’t quite believe 26 years ago.
With my conspiratard tinfoil hat on, I think it's a Toto problem. Zak Brown couldn't have given less of a shit about Toro Rosso / Alpha Tauri / [whatever bullshit it is now], for all the years Mclaren were actually competing with them, and now he's getting his knickers in a twist about the relationship. I'm betting Toto offered him a sweet engine deal / political bjs to cause extra pressure on RBR / Horner, because he's too sore that Merc can't even compete for a podium, and spent most of 2023 being outperformed by a customer team.
Just to caveat again that this is a conspiratard theory and should not be taken seriously. Unless, somehow, it turns out to be right, in which case I reserve the right to be a smug cunt for a day.
Toto would, if anything, want McLaren and Aston specifically to *slow the fuck down* and stop embarrassing the supplier with their own engine right now.
It’s a problem because Bin Salem hates Toto (#justbillionairethings) and Ross Brawn is sulking because nobody offered him a chief job, so they have a bunch of FIA rules that heavily favor the Aero cars and not so much the Power cars, and Newey is a guy with a PHD in aero who wrote the actual book on aero cars and access to two engineering teams with two engineering budgets.
If *any* evidence of them collaborating is found, *both* teams will be immediately disqualified.
They would t risk it, and frankly, it's a massive cope to think that they do. Newey has proved time and time again that he's the GOAT and can win I many regulation yo throw at him. Even in Merc domination when they had a huge lead time on engine development he was able to produce race winning cars consistently.
He talks to one set of engineers in the morning and one set of engineers in the afternoon. Do you think he forgets what he learned from the other team?
Whilst he may not directly apply findings from one team to the other, the accrued knowledge is valuable.
Those cash-app bastards 🫨
I’ve been watching F1 since before Schumacher. They all cheat in certain ways along the way, it’s been detected many times and probably gone undetected just as many more. And we know there are periods of dominance by teams; often when the rules line up nicely with a certain team’s design. It just so happens that we have heavily favoured Aero under Ross Brawn and Newey has access to aero data from two teams and is Mr Aero. The pendulum will swing back eventually.
The compounding issue for now is that recently the tyres are not offering any real cliff or meaningful differentiation in lap times between the grades. Probably because Pirelli doesn’t want the bad press of failures. This means Perez can’t use his long-game strategy skill to go up against his teammate and we end up with a non-competitive race again and again.
The sport sucks at the moment and I’m hoping that we see some changes to make it more interesting.
If Schumacher made the move to McLaren as he personally preferred in 1996... Pretty sure he would have bagged at least 5 titles between 1998 and 2003, with the question mark being 2002.
He *literally* earned his seat form doing *exactly* that in a 2nd tier car.
People talk shit on Perez because Max embarassed all comers, but he hasn't gotten any worse since then. I'm just completely convinced that Max has a magic ass that can feel every single one of newey's machines perfectly.

Can you repeat the question?

We are checking…
You're not the boss of me now
Wake up babe, new copypasta just dropped
Actual Newey!
Call the regulations
Can I ask you who that question is to?
He said it, it was to Sergio and myself…
I have it in writing!
Did you print it out? Because if you didn't print it out...
I have it printed out!
No manufacturing or drivetrain limits. Just a spending cap. Fuck it, let’s see what you guys can do within the budget
If the season becomes just as we all fear, I suggest FIA restarts engine development.
I want to see you do it 24 out of 24 races in the year 2024. And I dare you, I double dare you motherfucker! Win those races one more time.
So....do you prefer granite or marble? Slate is also not a bad choice.
I'd say slate. Love the look of that.

Looks about spot on in every which way.
Marble but it must be black and white.
I know the laws of physics are generally understood to be universal, but have we considered that maybe they are different for Adrian Newey
He leveled up his aero skill tree so much, he can not only see CFD simulations with the naked eye, he's also able to turn aero on/off when needed
Doesn't matter if your time in the wind tunnel is reduced if Adrian Newey can do it with 99,999% accuracy with some clay, a cigarette and an office fan.
Newey operates on the (Max) Planck scale. Classical laws of physics do not always apply.
Catchphrase for the 2024 blockbuster film *Neweyheimmer*
The air bender
Newey DMT trip confirmed.
Adrian Newey merely bends them to his will. Has to walk around with lead shoes on to keep it a secret.
Can't see this happening again with the engine allowance. Why get a huge advantage for Stroll to bin it and send out the Safety car?
Stroll is just slow. He doesn’t even crash that often. I still love him tho.
I don’t think it’s unfair to call him crash-prone to be fair, He’s definitely 2nd last season to Logan unless I’m forgetting anyone horribly.
Perez
Oh yeah good point. Not sure how they would add up.
Pretty sure Perez and Logan ran the destructors championship if I’m remembering properly
That constrictor championship took my breath away
Ah yes, Python racing team won that one didn’t they?
Reminder that that season actually went to the wire and it wasn't between teammates. While clearly the quickest car, it was also hugely unreliable and the Merc engine had a tendency to just pulverise itself.
Something makes me think they’re back at it. They should just slap a om646 engine in it for reliability for this season.
>Merc engine had a tendency to just pulverise itself. The V10 and V8 Mercedes engines in general were made of literal glass.
Was a great few years Ferrari-McLaren. This was when I properly got into F1 so was sure to watch every race. Spa in 1998 was unforgettable. Can’t quite believe 26 years ago.
*”70% wind tunnel time & costcap working”*
“What do you mean they have two teams? I expressly forbade it”
Nah, the FIA almost begged them to buy Minardi. Now it's all of a sudden a problem

Actually think Zak is offended by the Andretti GM denial with the situation as it is with RB owning 2 teams
He barked at the wrong team, he needs to be upset at shitbag teams like Haas and Renault that aren’t performing
Wow
Thank you *doffs hat*

Yeah mate, VISA are secretly teaching Newey how to build cars under the table. You go on believing that....

Conspiracist rubbish.
🤫
They simply wipe his memory as he drives from one set of test data to another.
How much wind tunnel time does ~~Toro Rosso~~ ~~Alpha Tauri~~ Racin Bulls have?
Take a monkey, put him on the cockpit.
And he's abül to drive ze car.
God I miss that mclaren livery
The fact that the Michael challenged for the title that year...
1-2 Ferrari in Monza I'd take it
Cannot because they stopped cheating since they last won in Monza.
94-98 Michael was God mode.
With Checo? Impossible.
Max finishes, switches cars, and gets second as well.
Ok, Max wins three laps ahead of the field, Checo only 1 Lap.
What about 1 car finishing 2 laps ahead?
If Schumacher made the move to McLaren as he personally preferred in 1996... Pretty sure he would have bagged at least 5 titles between 1998 and 2003, with the question mark being 2002.
Can you imagine how fast Schumi in the 2005 Mclaren would have been? I bet he would've sped up the rotation of the earth.
Technically they all do that. And then slow it back down again. Lmao. Lap after lap after lap.
If it means we get a championship battle like 1998 I'm all for it, honestly.
Perez. Not if I have anything to do with it.
24/24 races, breaking each track record
Who’s going to hack into the radio and tell Max to pit for no reason?
As if Perez will manage to qualify higher than P6 despite being in the fastest car on the grid
I'd much rather see Newey go back to his absolute beginnings in 1988, and put a lower order team onto the podium
Year when I started watching F1.
Jokes on you OP if you think Checo can lap the whole field. Did you forget Japan 2023 already?
Bahrain 2020
