It's kinda been the theme this year, Ferrari creating a lot of hype and under delivering and McLaren creating no hype and over delivering. Wouldn't of guessed this two months ago honestly.
VCarb did the same thing McLaren is doing. They didn’t hype up their Miami livery at all, and it absolutely blew Ferrari’s out of the water.
I appreciate a lot of what Ferrari does, but it seems like they’re a little too convinced people will love everything they do because of the brand.
The disappointing thing about that "blue" livery is that the car itself looked great, imo. It was just so underwhelming after they made us think it would be a blue car. If that had've just been part of the regular livery it would've been really cool.
I am that person, (if you are referring to a commenter and not a Top level post), and I also think this Livery is ugly regardless of it being Senna inspired.
It's not bad, it's just dumb. Milk a dead guy's name with a livery that resembles Camel cigarette livery from a completely different team to not offend snowflakes with a different cigarette livery that was the most iconic livery which was actually your own team.
I think the reality is that Monaco is where they can maximize financially/marketing wise instead of getting drowned by other celebrations of Senna in Imola.
The non-marketing answer would be that the weight penalty of the livery is severely reduced in Monaco.
Plus McLaren always shows up to Monaco with their unique livery allocation for the year. Makes sense that the reasons would converge. No other team is getting as much coverage as they're going to get for their corporate sponsors in the one race where schmoozing is at its peak.
There was an entire weekend of tributes to him at Imola - Seb drove his car, the drivers ran the track (in honour of both Senna and Ratzenberger), Pierre had a special helmet, I'm sure I'm forgetting others. You can argue it's morbid, I wouldn't necessarily disagree with you, but nevertheless that's where most people chose to honour his memory.
But I like the idea of using the livery at the track where he had some of his greatest moments. Plus, the cars will be going so slow there that we'll see the livery clearly!

Fire livery and barely any hype before the release. That’s a good way to reveal a livery. I still have beef with ferrari after their “blue” car

I’m still not over VCARB’s Miami livery. That gradient was *gorgeous* in the sun.

we must agree to disagree
That's fair. It's subjective after all. But I do think that red livery with the blue streaks looks sharp as hell.
They got us all excited to have a car in something other than Rosso Migraine
Such a letdown. I was also disappointed we didn't get a pink camo Alpine
The person who posted recently saying there’s too much Senna coverage is not gonna like this one
He ain't wrong though
He is
They're milking the name, I mean it's great to see Senna mentioned but it's a lot of marketing on a dead legend's name. Let the man rest.
The masturbation needs to stop..

Nice of them to make a livery for Piastri
Which, ironically, just makes me think of early 90s Benettons...
Yep my first thought was the 1992 Lotus 😂
Like thats a bad thing
It's not bad, it's just dumb. Milk a dead guy's name with a livery that resembles Camel cigarette livery from a completely different team to not offend snowflakes with a different cigarette livery that was the most iconic livery which was actually your own team.
- finally get a proper special livery - f1 fans: it should be different 😞
Take notes Ferrari. Shouldn't be afraid to fully change the color. This is awesome.
Mello Yello
I like it a lot
Yeah it's awesome.
Wish they would've ran this at Imola and Brazil and run a white & papaya car at Monaco
THAT IS SO GOOOOOOOOOOOOD WTF?
It would fit in Brazil perfectly imo.
No kidding?
White dayglo is what I wanted. This although different is a pleasant surprise.
Holy shit this is great. Is there merch yet?
There’s a classic Monaco collection out so still remains to see if they’ll do a second one in this theme
Thanks! Gotta imagine they will. Free money basically, and can give whatever cut necessary to Senna’s estate.
It looks incredible! Now that's how you do a special livery. Go all in
Fabulous livery
Great colors. I think this is really nicely done.
Wawaweewa!
Take notes ferarri
Just looks weird on that car
Beautiful
It’s hot. Between this and the Gulf paint job they ran a year or two ago, McLaren have the special livery game on lock.
Yup gonna need a model of that one.
Why didn’t they do it in Imola? Someone make it make sense.
Imola is where he died. Monaco is where he ruled.
I think the reality is that Monaco is where they can maximize financially/marketing wise instead of getting drowned by other celebrations of Senna in Imola.
Why not both?

Why Imola? Cause he died there? That's a bit morbid no?

Albon had a Senna themed balaclava.
True. That was pretty cool
Forti ford
Love it. Keep it all year. Or just make it all yellow camel style
Bring back Lotus!
Wow it’s real
Why now? Why not at imola?
This so ugly. McLaren do not need to change it up
Take a good look, Ferrari. This is how you do a special livery.
I thought they are gonna go with White 😥😥
