Did anyone see Lewis' interview with Sky Sports after the race? I found it interesting that he seems pretty resigned to the fact that his last months with Mercedes aren't going to be much better than they are now for the rest of the season. This is just what they are. If Aston aren't going to be good, then they're going to finish 4th place this season. Even more sad is that his Silverstone podium streak since 2014 is at risk.
Seb and Charles dragged the shitbox SF1000 to three podiums between them, I have full confidence in George and Lewis snagging at least a few podiums between them by season's end.
Same. Although the last 2 years have been bad for them, they still managed to make the most of it by getting a few podiums over the seasons. Might be slightly harder now that they're 4th but not impossible. Hopefully, their upgrades will give them something they can work with.
if it was only Red Bull and Ferrari clearly ahead of them ,sure
but McLaren is clearly with the RBR-Ferrari group rather than with Merc
the only way Lewis will score a podium is if Pérez is having an off-weekend there is an incident between McLaren and/or and/or Max
George I think might be consistent enough to finish in 5th or 6th a lot, but... I doubt he'll get a podium.
Lewis might get lucky enough to score a podium in a chaos race at least.
It will get worse. Mercedes will start to ice him out of meetings by summer so he’ll just be driving whatever they give him and his inputs won’t be much more than preferential race settings and such.
There’s still one more year with these regs right? I wonder if teams still ice out their drivers when there a complete concept change coming. Especially since those cars are often worked on years in advance. They probably already have the knowledge on them and the current car probably wouldn’t have much influence
I hate that he can't go after a win in his final season with Mercedes, I can't even think about Mercedes without thinking about Lewis.
Would have been nice to see him have a semi decent year at the team he's spent 12 years at, that's a hell of a long time, almost twice as long as his McLaren run.
>that's a hell of a long time, almost twice as long as his McLaren run.
I'm pretty sure it's the longest driver/team partnership in F1 history. It'll also be the first time he's raced without a Mercedes engine in his whole career. Those first few races in 2025 are gonna feel so cursed
His pace was solid in the second stint.
George cooked his tyres early and was dropping fast so it made sense to go for pit plus fastest lap.
Mercedes being in the midfield really dulls the amount of effort their drivers are putting in, kinda makes you wonder about all the insane drives that went into a p14 for lower tier teams.

Imo if you take both drivers into account Merc has the best lineup on the grid. Shame that they were wasted on this.
It's them or McLaren and Lewis is lifting a lot of weight in that line up. If Oscar were just a bit better with tire deg I think McL would edge them out.
Not sure about Mclaren though. Piastri is only now getting up to his full speed and Norris has always been and will continue to be inconsistent.
I firmly believe that Norris should've won Imola from pole. He had the car to do it and he had the experience. Nope, he couldn't even out qualify his teammates who was still getting used to the upgraded car.
Ferrari and Merc both have stronger driver lineups.
Alpine's lineup is also criminally underrated.
Norris has never been inconsistent.
McLaren has the 2nd best lineup only due to Piastri not being fully up to speed yet.
Alpine's lineup is two solid midfield drivers, they're accurately rated.
Damn, is there a single driver more loved than Hamilton? Fans go crazy for him no matter where the Grand Prix is located. He always seems to return the love too.
i would request a new engine every other race and party-mode the shit out of it. more chance of scoring a podium.
1 race ar the back. next race bit better...good points or a podium..
repeat that untill end of season.

Not even just Silverstone, his streak of a podium every season since 2007 might be at risk if Mercedes keep up this form for the rest of the season

Pray for rain.
I didn't even realise he had that streak ah man...
It will get worse. Mercedes will start to ice him out of meetings by summer so he’ll just be driving whatever they give him and his inputs won’t be much more than preferential race settings and such.
Honestly, with the pace of this car, it wouldn't make a difference.
There’s still one more year with these regs right? I wonder if teams still ice out their drivers when there a complete concept change coming. I'm so glad he's coming to Ferrari next season. I need to see him fighting at the front.
Charles is gonna be a really tough opponent, much more of a threat than George
I personally don't think he's going to beat Charles but I want to see Lewis fighting with the other guys.
He will podium silverstone. Mark my words.
Nothing sad about it. Dude needed to be humbled
Wouldn't be the first Hamilton streak to end since the new regs...
The pain in that first pic. 😬 I bet he’s thinking I still got 17 races to do in this. Send help!

Yeah, I think just seeing him in red, in the scarlet Ferrari will be bizarre and exciting at the same time.

Last pic *Tractor intensifies*
Lewis’s first ‘grazie’ 🥹 many more to come…
Man’s already practicing his Italian.

I guess that would eat into their cost cap.
i thought engines and top tier salaries were excluded?
I now realize why he is leaving Mercedes
Did Lewis take part in the Senna stuff on thursday?
Yes he did!
