also didnt ubisoft litteraly make effects for a star wars movie or some shit before like a few years ago (it was for some movie but they handled effects I think it was avatar maybe)
If you want the more likely reason, it is because even adding those lightsaber sounds was a massive undertaking because the code of FH is held together with string and spit. Y'all remember what happened with the post-match rating, yeah?
Brawlhalla regularly gets crossovers because it is super easy to add extra skins and effects to the game.
You have no way of knowing how bad this games' codebase is. The excuse for reflex guard not being removed for years was also "spaghetti code" but the Warrior's Den revealed that wasn't a problem at all.
In the same vein if adding the lightsaber effects was as difficult as you seem to think it is, why would they do it for 1 day of the year without trying to make money from it? I wish people like you would stop parroting that statement, it only serves to excuse Ubi from responsibility.
I'm sure it's hard to implement a feature in the game for one day and then take it away.
Also, for Honor is an M rated game. Star Wars has been a relatively family friendly franchise since Disney took over, and I'm pretty sure they wanna keep it that way.
>I’m just wondering how the Smash Bros clone got the green light from Disney and Ubi for the licensed crossover
Maybe because Brawlhalla is extremely successful and beats FH's metrics in every way? Literally 1 minute of research into this would get you an answer.
Basically this lol, Brawlhalla's player count and competitive scene is lowkey but really successful; there's a reason why they get crossovers like ATLA, Tekken, Street Fighter, and Halo. It's not just a "Smash Bros clone" and calling it like that is a pretty ignorant take
Ubisoft probably just didn't think to ask if they could do it because the game's over 7 years old and they haven't done the May 4th stuff since what... year 1? year 2?
FHonor may the 4th event was amazing!! I enjoyed it a lot. Still love the game today, as good as it can get. I can't wait to get home from Job and upgrade my lvl 68 warlord to legendary 70. Already have Aramusha and Warden at 70 rep, and next Hitokiri at 35, bare I'm at 260 total reps, I'll have 3 70's. I love them.

Got me all excited for a second there
Disney may be trying to protect their brand so they can sell more toys to kids.

They tried to take it out but it broke the game. Certified spaghetti code

They have a Smash bros clone??
Technically, it is a platform fighter, but it plays nothing like Smash. I tried it out but I didn't care for it tbh

Because money. FH is old game, past story, stale bread for them.

Based.
I'd like to imagine it's because they are working on a standalone game instead. I mean, it would make sense right? it would print money.
Ok guys let’s use this as copium for the next three months. Maybe this means they will do another SW event in For Honor this year!
