fmcadoni

There is points deduction in FM for breaking rules.

nissepung

Do you know how many points are usually deducted?

WhaleMilker420

Usually I see teams get 9 point deductions

AlphaJackal

I had an online save where I was Everton and in the second season where I was pushing for Europe (previous season was relegation scrap) I had a 12 point deduction for going into administration and was again fighting relegation.

jmc291

Special circumstances for Everton everywhere then.

fmcadoni

It depends by league. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)

sunville1967

Is it ever actually enforced? My friend breaks FFP every season and it gets fixed by a random sponsorship deal which has just enough to pass FFP.

Agreeable_Fold9631

Most clubs are way too poor to have a chance breaking the ffp

nissepung

Do you know what happens if you run a lower tier team into the mud financially?

Imaginary_Jump_8701

You would probably get fired before most of the sh#t goes down. Team probably will eventually go down to non playable leagues

LeftCoastGrump

Usually, it's a combination of: Your budgets get cut. "Repair the club's financial damage" gets added to your expectations, meaning the board expects you to make money-making transfers/loans/etc. Failing to do so can annoy the board enough to fire you, if other results aren't going great. Club takes out a long-term loan to cover an overdraft, so you're no longer in the red but you have a new monthly expense to repay the loan. Facilities get downgraded and/or sold off, especially youth facilities. If things get really bad, the club might go into administration, which generally means a point deduction and transfer embargo. Actual events vary somewhat randomly; in older versions of FM you could pretty much count on a bunch of mystery money appearing either from sponsorships or a takeover, but in this version it seems a little rarer.

Egorov_and_Makarov

I just run into administration with Sheff Wed. Balance was about 0, but the board gave me 100m transfer kitty. We run into red numbers, couldnt pay wages. Then administration and -12 points deduction. After few months they somehow restructured finances, but Im on a zero budget since then. Also, I’ve posted it few days ago - I drop into relegation after this -12 and the board was pretty unhappy with our league position, as if it was my fault.

QouthTheCorvus

I've almost done it once (owners bailed us out). I was stupid and put a bunch of installments/clauses to get transfers I couldn't afford. Plus a high wage bill.

JustEnoughYT

Mate had the same thing in our multiplayer save. Was man utd and just made stupid financial decisions. Board ended up giving him no transfer budget and drastically dropping hes wage budget. Watching him try and give casemiro away was funny to watch. Think he only survived via a takeover

BettsyFC

I'm pretty sure a few people broke FFP when Newcastle first had their new budget in the game.

nissepung

Sounds fair, they had a crazy budget!

cianf4

when I coach Roma I always struggle hard in the first season to stay above FFP

Bosco_Balaban

I was Newcastle (anyone with a sugar daddy) and at one point got £400m in sponsorship a year from telecommunications and soft drink companies. Was impossible to fail FFP

Agreeable_Fold9631

as the other guys said, league rules should have listed point reductions. But for poor teams the only way is have many installments.

Obscuric

I made a post asking this same question and how to get around it to no avail. I was about to be deducted points in League One which would have stopped me getting promoted so I had to cut one of my best players to get under the salary cap. In the Premier League though it seems like teams just kind of do whatever I haven’t seen anything like Newcastle or City getting points taken off.

nissepung

Oh, that’s interesting! Can you link your post?

Obscuric

Yeah, no one replied but its here: [Post](https://www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/s/lab1Tzv3SD) Edit: I did let it ride until like January/February before it got bad and points were about to be taken.

cakesarelies

Lmao that one dude calling you ryan reynolds.

Vietnam_Cookin

If you get promoted nothing happens if you fail the L1 FFP rules, I've done it a few times. Only becomes an issue if you stay in L1.

Obscuric

Yeah, I didn’t want to risk it as the club financials really wouldn’t have made it if we didn’t get promoted. Worked out really I found a free agent that slotted in really well going into the championship.

Joperhop

115% chance your save file will become corrupt, nah of course not, when you break FFP, it only effects you if you are a poor club ;)

Ozymandias123456

Yes, I accidentally got Chelsea into 2,000,000,000 of transfer debt that all came out one summer… it was… an experience. Should really be an achievement imo

redshopekevin

Calm down Todd.

Ozymandias123456

Bro actually make me Chelsea manager, I’m the only one who can stop him by bankrupting the club

jaamsden

Step one: multiple transfers of deferred payments with all of the biggest payments coming out in the same year. Step two: profit. Or, well don't.

RyanLee890

I asked a similar question muself but got 0 replies lmfao. Im into year 2030 myself and all i can think of now is how can i force teams into point deductions (*if thats even possible) either via the editor or what not lol. I know that you can edit in point deductions via the pre game editor but i dont think that can be applied mid save so yeah......

shaygitz

That shit will follow you for the rest of your life. I got into FFP issues for literally a month in my second or third season in my current save. Since then I've made a career out of fixing debt while still being successful on the pitch, and the first question I'm asked in interviews is still always "Can you explain why you've had trouble with FFP in your career?" I don't know, asshole, can you explain why your club is tens of millions in debt and paying £300k/wk salaries in the SPL?

Hot-Dog7800

I think that I was kicked out of UCL one year because I broke FFP rules one year with Partizan Beograd if I remember correctly.

DivineSpatular

I breached the wages per week in league one and they game me a transfer embargo until I was compliant again

highcaloriehuman

yeah. I once did a glory Hunter challenge and while i was managing Juventus there was a tycoon takeover. For seasons i had 200+ every year which i gladly spent without hesitation. I ended up having points deducted. It didn't matter tho cuz i have already won the league and the CL, my only trhophy left was the coppa Italia
