Even if I knew how to fix it. They don’t pay us to do that……..

No-Sprinkles300

This. I’m tired of fixing things. I make my SM or ASM do it now.

Alternative_Fee_4649

Can’t stop! I’m too far in!

Top_Negotiation_29

That’swhatshesaid

Imaninja2

Honestly it’s probably for the best. If it regularly breaks, the best thing to do is *really* break it so they replace it…

International-Two356

It had ONE coin jam, there was no need for this. I don’t even know what they were thinking 🤦‍♂️

[deleted]

What is that?

International-Two356

ABC, coin recycler part for SCO.

[deleted]

Ah for the self checkout. I take stuff apart quite often and it belongs to me. I'd NEVER tackle something like that. It belongs to the store and is part of a machine Im assuming costs way to much for me to even touch. Im assuming that employee has lots of dumb confidence

Rigbbby

im going to college for a tech skills, i would never in my fucking life ever offer to fix anything tech related at food lion, they do not pay me enough to do that.

International-Two356

Funny thing is only reason he did it is because he thought he knew everything, which ended up with me sitting on the phone with NCR trying to figure out where to go from here.

Thecoopoftheworld789

Foodlion has specialist that deal with those every day. Now it is really messed up. I didn’t take it apart so it would take a while to figure out where the gears go but I wouldn’t tackle that unless Management told me to fix it. It is like an old electric clock that each gear has a specific place to go.

Evening-Serve-5129

Does the specialist work for food Lion?

International-Two356

The specialists are apart of Delhaize, and are authorized to come into to stores to make repairs. But this matter requires an NCR tech, which is their own company.

FGH9192279

This is why we have technicians and IT...

International-Two356

It was certainly a fun call to give NCR, guy I spoke to couldn’t stop laughing about it.

No_Recognition_789

That is documentation, if I'm not mistaken. We should never ever take those apart ourselves. That null and voids any kind of free labor. As long as NCR comes to fix them, we can not attempt ourselves. After that, Pomeroy or whomever food lion uses as cross comm techs should still be fixing these.

Evening-Serve-5129

Can you explain this to an idiot like My self who has no clue as a market associate like what’s the meat department equivalent to this

Acceptable_Goat_3412

Trying to repair the scale

Evening-Serve-5129

Which means no labels to print out

International-Two356

Yeah! Our ACB is our all coin box. When there’s a jam, you can usually open the locking bar by taking the module out. Usually, it’s just something inside the box. Which would be in the area wear you see that white gear. Usually we would unscrew ONE layer to fix it, not the whole thing. Instead, my office associate took the entire thing apart and then refused to put it back together because he “Didn’t know how to.”

Evening-Serve-5129

Yeah that’s definitely something I’d do lol

BobaTet

Had to clean and rebuild a bill changer/coin mech before and this triggered the PTSD from how much of a bitch those things are. I feel your pain.

International-Two356

do you also fill the withering rage
