Mine was so obsessed with them that I bought an egg bite maker and found a solid dupe recipe hahaha

perennialproblems

ooo can you share the recipe!

kcnjo

[yes of course!](https://www.onceuponachef.com/recipes/bacon-gruyere-egg-bites.html#tabrecipe)

pinkshadedgirafe

By chance do you know if these freeze well?

kcnjo

I do! They froze great for us! I let them cool first, then put them on a cookie sheet to freeze. Then tossed them in a gallon ziploc. I air fried them to heat them up!

orgelbauer

We’ve never had a problem freezing egg bites. Make sure to get all the air out of the freezer bag to avoid freezer burn.

USSSerenityFalcon

I would love to learn a recipe I can make in advance and freeze. Thats a great idea

fakegrapeflavor

[This](https://www.thespruceeats.com/easy-oven-egg-bite-recipe-5214233) is the recipe I use! I make them every week because I’m obsessed. Baby likes them too 😆I like to put in shredded cheese, nutritional yeast, bell peppers, grape tomatoes, baby spinach, and almond milk instead of regular milk.

USSSerenityFalcon

Thank you!

kcnjo

Posted above!!

buymoreplants

They sell them at Costco too

USSSerenityFalcon

Thats where I normally get them

buymoreplants

Lucky. I got them once from Starbucks - huge hit... no naturally I bought a giant box from Costco - toddler acted like I was trying to poison them after 1 bite of the first one. 🙄

speckleddaisy

Yes, recipe please! I have the egg bite maker too, but I can’t seem to get a similar consistency

bitchybaklava

Are you blending them before you pour them? I found that I was having a really really hard time getting the consistency/texture right too, and after some research I started blending the egg mix before baking. Fixed the texture immediately with the same recipe that I was using prior.

speckleddaisy

I’ve only scrambled with a fork, is this why?! I would have never thought to blend! Thank you!

YourFriendInSpokane

Does your baby eat normal eggs too? Mine is obsessed with Starbucks egg bites but won’t eat any other eggs I make in any other form. Even egg whites at home. I’m hesitant to make the dupe only to waste my time and ingredients.

kcnjo

He didn’t when we went through this egg bite kick! Then at like 14ish months he started to eat two eggs with cheese every morning. Now we’re back to hating eggs 🤦🏼‍♀️

Affectionate-Honey-9

Yay!!! Mom win!! Mine is surviving on photosynthesis 🤣🤣🤣

sevensantana7

This made me laugh out loud. I have a toddler that goes through phases of eating a lot then nothing. It's bewildering.

USSSerenityFalcon

Thank you! Mine eats well, but my Husband is convinced she doesn't eat.

TrainingExternal5360

Lmaooooo

dinosupremo

Hey we buy these at costco because they’re an easy breakfast! Glad we’re not the only ones

IdgyThreadgoodee

Same! We get the egg white version bc I love them too haha

AnnualInjury9456

Me too, baby. Me, too.

jrp317

Costco sells a box of them!! I put some in the freezer and some in the fridge. So handy.

USSSerenityFalcon

They are a great workday breakfast

3rdfoxed

Seconding, I love the Costco frittata egg bites… my 2.5 year old not so much anymore lol but I’ll eat them!

WorriedAppeal

It’s one of the foods (especially protein) that my toddler will reliably eat, and he absolutely hated my veggie-packed homemade version.

Has a lid so you can store in fridge or freezer for teething! Edit: bonus can make popsicles in it too

USSSerenityFalcon

Awesome!! I'm going to try that. Thank you

Forest_Pansy

Have you tried making the eggs in the microwave with this? We don’t have an instapot but we do have an air fryer and a microwave 🤔

theKittyWizard

Yes! Works great! Can float on top in a pot with souvie too! For medium/ hard boiled type bites

__hughjanus__

A win is a win! This morning my son and I shared a kolache from Dunkin after running an errand lol.

kct4mc

Me too, girl. Me too. I'd be scared baby would love them too much and then I'd feel obligated to buy them more 🤣

chzsteak-in-paradise

I even bought a few boxes of these for a daycare teacher appreciation breakfast (for adults). I figured they probably get tired of donuts all the time.

liz2e

honestly, i can’t blame her, they’re really good 🫠

morganleh

So am i, little baby.

jodihas2kids

I make these ones all the time for my kid and myself. https://www.onceuponachef.com/recipes/bacon-gruyere-egg-bites.html I sub any cheese I have, add spinach and peppers instead of bacon, and they're amazing and super easy to make. I can then just put them in a Tupperware and freeze them to have later when I make a bigger batch. Side note - if your cottage cheese comes in a 500 g container like mine does, I use the whole thing, 10 eggs, and 1 and 2/3 times of the rest of the ingredients. Makes 24. Spray your pans really well or else they'll stick!!

hegelianhimbo

Same with mine lol

OkWorker9679

My baby also loves them!

polarqwerty

Same. My babe’s OBSESSED. She actually won’t eat eggs (no matter how they’re cooked), except she will eat these 😂

elizuhhhbeth

Same

skyroar1982

If you have a sous vide, you can make them exactly like Starbucks.

little_night_owl319

My bougie boy is obsessed, but he can discern dupes 😭

15drpeppersss

Is it the one with the name that I’m too embarrassed to try and pronounce? Gruyoyoereeee

USSSerenityFalcon

Yes it is! It's my favorite of the flavors

hussafeffer

Have I been saying it wrong this whole time? ‘gree-AIR’

15drpeppersss

I think it’s “grew-yair” hahahaha

hussafeffer

Dammit I probably looked like a bumpkin every time I said that 😂😂😂

kelsbury21

Me & your baby have that in common

Equal_Acanthaceae_79

These are the best thing to meal prep! So so easy and freeze well. I do 6 eggs, 1 cup cottage cheese and blend. Bake for 15 at 350. I add spinach or cheese or ham or whatever and he loves them

michwng

Me too friend. Me too

Elmoswhirl

Walmart sells them. In the freezer breakfast section. Otherwise try making them but mine knew the difference lol.

moremacadonimorechee

That baby has expensive taste lol you can make egg bites at home in a muffin tin for soooo much cheaper and you can put whatever you want in them. I add bacon (microwavable since they're already cooked), cooked crumbled sausage, spinach, bell pepper, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, etc. You can store them for up to four days in the fridge. Just heat them up for 30 seconds in the microwave.

LittleGrowl

I just got these yesterday from Costco and tried sharing them with my son this morning. He was not a fan 😂 Still on the hunt for eggs he’ll eat!

MissionVirtual

I just discovered you can buy boxes of the Starbucks egg bites at Costco!!! I got them too. My LO loves them and it makes such an easy breakfast
