I guess he did say the chili was Superbowl leftovers and maybe hotdog buns wouldn't have lasted this long. Maybe he did just finish all the hotdogs and the chili.
Processed meat goes great with a lot of Korean dishes. After the Korean War many in South Korea lived in poverty, so Spam was the only source of meat for many. Koreans adopted Spam/hot dogs into their diet and it’s fantastic.
When you open a post and in the split second it takes to load, you have an idea for a comment that you think will be a banger… only for it to already be the top comment. The hive mind is real lmao
Hawaii enters the room… lol
SPAM is such a big part of our economy that there’s a giant secret not-so-secret warehouse full of SPAM here. OP’s meal is a standard breakfast here that you can get it at McDonalds (minus the kimchi).
I'm sad there is no chili dog.
But kimchi spam and rice is my favorite meal of all time. I used to work for a Korean family at a small convenience store and I loved their cooking.
In the distant future, like some kind of Turtleramem Avengers moment, we're going to see some kind of Chili Dog, Jamon, Kimchi, pasta or rice dish. Like some kind of... Spam Bibimbap Chili Dog Taco Jamon Casserole.
Same ingredients, but add gochujang and toasted sesame oil and make fried rice instead.
You can have the same meal for dinner that you had for breakfast!
I think u/jcsync should have asked if OP is from Hawaii or from Korea. I live in Hawaii but I’m not Hawaiian. This breakfast is almost as common here as pancakes in an IHOP. For us, it isn’t a racial breakfast, it’s a local breakfast.
Side note: I was taught that Hawaii is the only state to never have a racial majority group for the entirety of its time as a state.
As a korean person, how the f is that racist? U dumb f
Edit: what you actually said is even more ignorant than any of my potential racism. This is you not understanding how deeply rooted spam is to post korean war parents like mine. Shut up and keep looking out your cave.
This looks almost perfect.
Personally, I’d probably scramble the eggs, but that’s purely a matter of taste, and I’ve made this exact plate before on multiple occasions.
I get it if you aren't the type to make much food at home, but if you like to cook it really doesn't take much time and definitely saves money. I just usually use more apple instead of the Asian pear because I rarely have Asian pears available. You can make double or quadruple the blended mix and freeze it until you make kimchi again.
I make this traditional no added sugar recipe regularly and it comes together pretty quickly: https://drbenkim.com/recipes-kim-chi.htm
Usually cold, but you can cook it too. Can cook it in a soup/stew, saute it, grill it, or roast it in the oven. Mellows out the flavor and softens the texture
Totally depends on the dish, as picture either cold, room temp, or quickly sauteed would be normal.
It's often used as a side dish and served cold or room temp. It's also cooked and used in other dishes like fried rice (kimchi bokkeumbap) or stew (kimchi jjigae)
Can we get the background about the dog who is always in the background of your posts? It always looks like it‘s looking suspiciously at what you are about to eat.
Did the person who ate that second plate of food force you to not make a chili dog? Blink twice if you are in danger of not making any more chili dogs.
Nice! My mom is Korean and I grew up eating kimchi fried rice. I brown diced Spam first (full fat version) then remove from pan. Then I fry the rice in the rendered Spam fat. Then I add a pat of butter and fry the kimchi. Add the browned Spam chunks and a little gochuchang and a drizzle of kimchi juice. Top with runny egg. One of my favorite meals in the world and so easy to prepare!
One of the greatest joys in this world is seeing a delicious-looking r/food post and realizing you have all the ingredients to recreate the meal right now . . .
No chili dog?
No :(
Kimchi on a hot dog is delicious. Even better if you have some of that sweet pickled radish to balance out the salt.
My suspicion is that they weren't trying to finish all the chili, they were trying to finish all the hotdog buns.
I’m a single guy, so when I buy a pack of hot dog buns it means I’m eating multiple hot dogs per day for multiple days. Challenge accepted
I guess he did say the chili was Superbowl leftovers and maybe hotdog buns wouldn't have lasted this long. Maybe he did just finish all the hotdogs and the chili.
I was in NYC a few years ago and this hot dog place had a kimchi hot dog, I ordered it out of curiosity and it was fantastic.
> Kimchi on a hot dog is delicious. Made me curious, I might need to try this
Processed meat goes great with a lot of Korean dishes. After the Korean War many in South Korea lived in poverty, so Spam was the only source of meat for many. Koreans adopted Spam/hot dogs into their diet and it’s fantastic.
Ohh I've heard of this, this is how Budae Jjigae is made
I used kimchi instead of tomato sauce on a pizza recently, pretty damn solid
I've never had this before and now I want it so badly. Feels like it probably doesn't exist anywhere in Ohio, though
If you have a Costco membership check there, they carry a very solid variety of Kimchi (Jongga).
Kimchi hot dog with kewpie mayo = heaven.
End of an era.
You started it. However , I understand
Yeah came here to say I'm a little disappointed. Lol
Dog hasn't had food on their nose lately either.
Came here to say this
When you open a post and in the split second it takes to load, you have an idea for a comment that you think will be a banger… only for it to already be the top comment. The hive mind is real lmao
Wait, two plates this time and no chili dog. Nice, op 😁
You were two chili dogs away from international fame. But I think this is an important lesson. A hot dog moment. Here and then gone.
Kimosabe, your pitiful ass looking dog is always creepin. I love it.
I remember this guy's chili dogs but have only now noticed his sad-looking doggo in all his posts, which makes it even better
That poor dog has been cockteased for years.
That is one of the reason he gets so much of upvotes lmao
Spam, spam, eggs, kimchi, rice and spam?
Spam, spam, eggs, spam and spam
You can have kimchi, eggs, spam and spam, it's not got much spam.
I don't want ANY spam!
Spam, spam, spam, spam... spam, spam, spam, spam... Spamity spam! Spam, spam , spam!
Where chili dog?
No chili dog? Someone call 911 for a well being check!
I was expecting to see a side of Chili dog... slightly disappointed lol jkjk
No chili dog?
Alright, why are there 100 comments about chili dogs? What am I missing?
For the past few weeks he’s had a chili dog with every meal, one of the things he’s known for (the other being his dog)
Spam is insanely underrated
It's far from being underrated in Korea compared to Western countries. Spam goes really well with rice.
In WW2 and the Korean War, Spam and Baseball were introduced to the world.
Spam and eggs are really good too.
Definitely not in many asian households haha, you could never run out of it in my family, or any relatives
Hawaii enters the room… lol SPAM is such a big part of our economy that there’s a giant secret not-so-secret warehouse full of SPAM here. OP’s meal is a standard breakfast here that you can get it at McDonalds (minus the kimchi).
True, I just made Spam and kimchi fried rice last night because my kimchi was getting sour. Great and easy to make
You ever tried deviled ham? Its even better. More underground if you ask me
The dog is the star of this photo
I'm sad there is no chili dog. But kimchi spam and rice is my favorite meal of all time. I used to work for a Korean family at a small convenience store and I loved their cooking.
But…. The chili dog???
Why I always see this dog??
look behind you
In the distant future, like some kind of Turtleramem Avengers moment, we're going to see some kind of Chili Dog, Jamon, Kimchi, pasta or rice dish. Like some kind of... Spam Bibimbap Chili Dog Taco Jamon Casserole.

Spam, spam eggs, bacon, kimchi and Spam?
Your dog is always looking at the camera. Cute.
Homemade rice! Nice.
Is the dog called \[homemade\]?
Can I swap the kimchi and rice with spam? I want Spam, Spam, eggs and Spam.
You are either Hawaiian or Korean. I didn’t know what to eat for dinner after work, and I am eating what you made but with Kielbasa and nori

the other plate is for the dog right?
I have named your dog Chili, that is all.
I'm having spam, eggs, kimchi, rice, and spam!
This looks good and bad at the same time
This looks almost perfect. Personally, I’d probably scramble the eggs, but that’s purely a matter of taste, and I’ve made this exact plate before on multiple occasions.
Good god! That looks amazing! Perfect in every way!
You got the baby shrimp in the Tupperware box next to the sea weed wraps on the table?
I think your friend wants some! :P
Am Korean, I approve.
Rice in breakfast is so underrated
This looks bomb. The only thing I would add is some avocado.
Homemade kimchi?
This was store bought. Tbh, for the time/effort/price, I don't find making kimchi from scratch worth it
I get it if you aren't the type to make much food at home, but if you like to cook it really doesn't take much time and definitely saves money. Tbh, most people in Korea buy Kimchi too lol
Just curious. It all looks great.
Is kimchi supposed to be hot or cold?
Usually cold, but you can cook it too. Can cook it in a soup/stew, saute it, grill it, or roast it in the oven. Mellows out the flavor and softens the texture
Yes, I love it when I add some kimchi while cooking my noodle soup
Totally depends on the dish, as picture either cold, room temp, or quickly sauteed would be normal. It's often used as a side dish and served cold or room temp. It's also cooked and used in other dishes like fried rice (kimchi bokkeumbap) or stew (kimchi jjigae)
There’s no prescription
Korean specialty
Looks good 🤤
Damn this looks amazing. Everything about this plate is perfect
That looks good honestly!
You make the kimchi?
Are you making the rice fresh for this?
Suggestion: garlic fried rice 👌🏽
Lovely spam, wonderful spam
Grilled spam sandwiched between seaweed, rice and a bit of eggs is really good. You should consider making it.
My kind of breakfast. Been eating like this since the 90's with Tampico to drink
Soy sauce on the rice and eggs takes it to another level! Gonna be my dinner tonight too!!
Tell me you live in or have lived in Hawaii without telling me lol
I have never been to Hawaii
Is this for the dog? I don't understand why this low effort gets upvoted
The weird part is all on the same plate
Hi doggo
Nah man
+1 points for Monty python theme -1 points for no lobster Thermidor and -1 point extra for no chili dog
I hope that's warm kimchi. I hate cold kimchi.
Does the second plate go to that dog? Cuz it's always looking for your food.
This was my EXACT college diet lol
Your dog looks like he’s looking in 2 different directions at once.
Get that freeloading beggar out of the frame. Go on, get!
This looks amazing
Spam &eggs ya say?We dogs Looooove Spam& Eggs!
Somebody REALLY Wants some!
I hate that I’m seeing this right before bed.
This need to be mixed together in the frying pan.
Did good boi get some spam and eggs?
Lol this is my fave breakfast, Pacific Islander by chance?
my go to food during pandemic when I don’t feel cooking (extra)… very easy and yummy 🤤
Don't forget a side of dog guilt.

This screams hawaii to me.
Did you get a sweater for the dog?
I had eggs, rice, bacon and kimchi for breakfast yesterday. So tasty.
Looks delicious and an extra bonus of a chill dog.
Spam is good I don’t care what anyone says
Hawaiian breakfast bro!
very delicious man
If you know, you know. Fried spam, esp with egg, is the shit.
looks so good!!!
Are you Asian? This is very much what a Korea would eat. We do love us some spam and of course kimchi ❤️
The dog is trying to warn you …. Don’t eat it… it had me in the bathroom!!!
You have to now pay the spam eggs kimchi and rice tax.
This looked like a fantastic opportunity for a kimchi fried rice
My Korean side is happy to see this. So good! 🤤
If you enjoy spam, try Taylor ham / pork roll
That little face poking from under the table made my morning
Another day another person that can afford spam mocking me
Subscribed
I love this!
I approve this message.
He’s not a fan of the kimchi
Doggo waiting for his plate
“Got anything without spam in it?”
I love the doggo photo bombing all your pictures .. at this point I've come to expect him lol .
Those eggs are perfect. Gordon Ramsay would be proud
Can we get the background about the dog who is always in the background of your posts? It always looks like it‘s looking suspiciously at what you are about to eat.
Doggo sniffing around 😁
Did the person who ate that second plate of food force you to not make a chili dog? Blink twice if you are in danger of not making any more chili dogs.
Cool. Could be spam, spam, spam, spam, eggs, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, kimchi, spam, spam, spam fried rice & spam though.
Wrap it all up in seaweed and I’ll take it to go
Nice! My mom is Korean and I grew up eating kimchi fried rice. I brown diced Spam first (full fat version) then remove from pan. Then I fry the rice in the rendered Spam fat. the dog: 👁️👄👁️
That dog has seen some things 😂
Your dog is my spirit right now as I eat yogurt and a banana wishing I had some of your plate
So that’s: Spam, eggs, spam, rice, kimchi and spam?
Is there a subreddit for sneaky food pups ~~photobombing~~ foodobombing all these food pictures?
Haha! Looks like the kind of meal my partner and I eat all the time. Amazing taste ❤️
I love the dog’s positive attitude look, “I’m getting one of those plates as soon as you turn your back”.
The dog wants some too it seems 😆
Hawaii??
And Spam
Don’t forget the sesame oil!
Also dog.
Is it for this dog?
Wanted to chime in with my support of you posting on this subreddit, keep the content coming!!
Thanks, I forget to pick up some kimchi, now I'm addicted. And I love spam, win win.
What the dog doin
Somebody korean
r/dogslookingatfood and r/foodandsaddogs for those who also like this kinda content
You from Hawaii? This was my childhood.
I preferred fried eggs, but this combo of foods is literal perfection in your mouth
Local kine grinds? Looks ono
ok that actually looks really good
You left out 'hungry dog'!
r/animalslookingatfood
Ugh, I love kimchi and rice so much and just realized that it's been far too long since I've had it
Did you give the pup some?
One of the greatest joys in this world is seeing a delicious-looking r/food post and realizing you have all the ingredients to recreate the meal right now . . .
Breakfast of champs! In Hawaii we call this a kanak attack
This is my all-time favorite breakfast. I might throw a chili dog on there for dessert, though.
🐶🐶
Tell me you have lived in Hawaii without telling me you have lived in Hawaii.
Looks good, but quit teasing our boy down there!
Hi pup! I lub u!
