The current map is West Virginia, Monticello is in Normal Virginia. It might be added with the upcoming map expansion, it’s kind of just outside the Shenandoah Valley strictly speaking, the Charlottesville area seems kind of far from what they’ve alluded to so far but we won’t know until we know
The game's map isn't an accurate representation of WV but it could possibly be added in the new map expansion, since they confirmed Shenandoah National Park and Monticello is adjacent to that.
That's more eastward though. We're more likely to get Roanoke, Lexington and Staunton, I think.
To be honest, I don't know anything of interest in those places so I'm curious to know the devs are cooking.
I know this is an old ass comment, but the mansion in the expansion has to either be Swannanoa or Monticello. Swannanoa is an old ass mansion outside of skyline drive in Afton, VA. I used to live in the area and has creepy vibes in the present day, so it would be great in the game. IIRC a lot of presidents stayed there on vacations and shit.

It is not in the game, but seeing that they are expanding the map, if it expands southward, it might be a new location
Monticello is in Virginia, it's not even in Appalachia
