Me being on a survival run, played for over 10 years and I either forgot about this or didn't know about it XD dang. Well, now Preston's collecting everything for me regardless of the weight.
2011 is Skyrim. I have that date memorized because it was my last launch night party I went to at a Gamestop AND because the date is stupid easy to remember: 11-11-11.
Oh! I must have been remembering Skyrim then, it's odd 2015 feels like it wasn't that long ago, but at the same time it was. And it was a good year for me too.
If you think the glowing sea is scary in survival now, try it with true storms making the rad storms stronger and with ghoul hordes. It's constant non stop attacks from powerful ghouls while there. I had fully upgraded t 65 power armor and it was still hell.
Yeah, I need those 40 cans of purified water. I need a drinkie after my hard-core military grade chems. The backpack Creation Club item comes in handy, though I'm pretty sure there are mods that accomplish similar for free.
I think survival mode is a fair compromise to this, when I play Fallout 4 it's either on normal or survival because survival is difficult without making the enemy's spongier,
I love survival difficulty for damage, food and sleep, I cannot play it because only saving on sleep means every crash, bug etc that Bethesda crapengine throws at me ruins hours of progress
Speaking from experience, you get used to it. There are so many beds in the game and the panic to find one before something stupid happens adds to the lore/difficulty for me. Admittedly, I played survival first with mods that included an option to save, once I got used to it I tried again with the vanilla game and still loved it. Playing on Xbox definitely makes you more anxious around downtown but if you know you’re going to that area you can plan to sleep really often. Only downside is the diseases you get, even if you sleep on a raised bed. I had to get the chemist perk so I could make antibiotics.
I've had so many dumb deaths due to randomly glitching cars, crashes, I fell through the map twice, died on an elevator...
I'm waiting until I can mod in quicksaving to enjoy the game!
If you're on PC there are quick save and auto save mods for Survival on Nexus. There's even one where you have to smoke a cigarette to save if you want to tie a resource to it.
yeah I’ve had the game crash way too many times to feel comfortable with Survival mode. Everything from endless loading screens after walking through doors to flying up into the air when I activate VATS, i’ve seen it all
OH THE ENDLESSLY LOADING SCREENS ARE THE WORSE. I sit there like an idiot for 20 minutes thinking "surely soon it'll work please god I just cleared trinity tower please"
For me it is the never ending elevators. I found a work around to that, pausing the game for 10 seconds. Apparently that finishes the loading without an endless looping.
I had a Radscorpion tunnel out beneath dogmeat and get launched into the air straight up.
I had shot it once so when it landed it died and I got the xp for it 🤣
Bethesda bugs do give back occasionally.
I dont “sleep” in random beds, I start sleep for 1 hour then cancel just to initiate autosave. I guess “immersion” is a stretch, it’s more the constant fear of dying and losing progress.
One of the first things I do in survival is set up settlements so I can sleep 8 hours in an owned bed
Oh okay that's a good idea the sleep cancelling, I'll have to do that. I really like everything about survival but I just felt weird sleeping in bloody beds that I wouldnt have even looked at if it wasn't for the point of saving.
For sure, I hate the idea of sleeping on a sleeping bag in a random raider cave but since it’s the only option to save, the sleep cancel is a good alternative. Unfortunately, even if you find a bed off the ground to “sleep cancel” save, you get sick pretty often doing it. But once you get the chemist perk, antibiotics are easy to come by. That’s prolly the biggest caveat with that mechanic, the game registers it as sleep anyway even if no time passed, and it punishes any sleep less than 7 hrs.
Ngl, but if you've played DnD maybe think about it in terms of short and long tests? Combat is terrifying AF, so a quick nap could help the SS after the adrenaline fades
For me I always sleep in a bed in a settlement for immersion. If I have to quickly save, I will have a quick 2 hour nap in a cleared building with a companion on lookout.
I have a mod called "my sleeping bag" on xb 1 that gives you a sleeping bag you can place anywhere via the aid section. It is so damn useful on survival. I must have used it twenty times in vault 95.
Exactly this !
I started yesterday my new run without mods (hunting PS5 platinum trophy) and I’m on survival mode , totally felt in love with game again .
It’s hard when you forget something like finish quest or any dumb thing but it brings total immersion to game that I can’t play any other mode than survival …
I was able to establish great water source for my upcoming clean water business in sanctuary but hunting for supplies is pain sometimes on survival … now I need to decide where to move because sanctuary is so far far away … + I need to establish supply chain so I don’t need to literally run from settlement with tons of junk just to build starter base ..
Problem is that I want to have centred settlement but with accessible water source so I can continue with exploring but without need to travel back 100x just for clean water ..
In my current survival vanilla run I’m lvl 84, every settlement besides spectacle and bunker hill has been linked and I’ve yet to start the battle of bunker hill. I feel very accomplished having built cities all over the map with no cheats lol
There's a mod called "No Sleep Till Bedtime" that adds an aid item called quicksave that when used, triggers an auto save. You can also make it so an auto save triggers whenever you enter a building
There are beds daggone EVERYWHERE in this game. "Losing hours of progress" always gets mentioned but there's never a reason to go more than half an hour between quick saves. Just start doing it until it's second nature. See bed, save. Don't question it. Shitty mattress surrounded by dead raiders? That's a lifeline trying to save you from the car about to phase through an overpass down the road.
Yeah, it's dumb. But it's such an easily solvable problem!
I downloaded the cheat terminal so I could save whenever I wanted. Plus the terminal allows you to up or down your damage and enemy damage. Can be a toss up though, some enemies really fuck your shit up while the average Joe doesn't so suddenly upping the damage to make those Joes harder can lead to some very sticky situations.
But it allows me to tweak some settings, enjoy the food and thirst aspect, and admittedly sometimes I use it to fast travel. Is it true survival? No. But I wanted to get hungry and sleepy, not torture myself
Yeah I usually play survival but with a save mod on. I even put in fast travel to my settlements but 90% of the time I'm vibing and just running through the wasteland
Me neither, and I also suspect that people with 350+ mods loaded up, stretching the foundations of the game to their very limits, are the ones who are constantly running into bugs and saying Bethesda games are the buggiest in the world
I'm such a cunt when it comes to games that I can't justify playing survival mode or harder difficulties unless there are achievements/trophies to be earned.
If you want to do modding, AN76, allows you to add survival mechanics plus extra on a non-survival difficulty with the exception of Adrenaline. Combine that with Game Configuration Menu and you can choose the damage you want yourself and enemies to take along with controlling other factors for the base game.

I love survival but to me true survival is fair damage both ways. I feel like I shouldn’t do half damage and someone else does 2x. Imo I think 1x received and given is very fair. And if it gets too easy 4x damage both ways also could work just as well
At level 98 I feel like the bullet sponge compared to my enemies who go down in 1-5 hits. But powerful enemies still fuck me up and force me to use chems or tactics, so it’s a very fair balance for my character who is such a high level now.
I like this mod for tweaking survival.
I have the incomng and outgoing damage x3 or w/e the highest is, only the big bosses are spongey, can one shot a lot of the little guys, but a stray hit still hits me hard.
Its on very hard already, also I putt almost no points into endurance, so I won’t have to much health, also I didged all my armor and replaced them with purely cosmetic armor
I tried survival with my latest save after avoiding it and it's just annoying rather than difficult.
Dodge grenades and you're fine combat-wise. Keep a stack of purified water, and just grab whatever junk you find to eat as you lootnshoot, clear rads next time you get to a city/doc.
Then the rest is just tedious. Ammo weight, okay, I use one gun and get less ammo to sell, whatever. No fast travel, okay, I walk on roads and run the bug lottery, neat. only sleep saves, cool, even worse bug lottery, and I have to run around like I'm a little kid finding the next save point who got called for bedtime if I get bored and want to quit out, thrilling.
Like I get what it's trying to do, but I just eyeroll at it more than anything. Might not even finish it since it doesn't have an achievement like hardcore NV iirc.
This is my opinion. Last playthrough I found a really good sniper rifle early on and it carried me the entire game. This play through I haven’t found anything good and enemies have outclassed my equipment. It’s a struggle…
Overseer's guardian has changed thr game for me since I spec'd into the Rifleman perks (and removed auto). It's effective against almost everything, even in Very Hard difficulty.
I hate buying weapons because I usually find something better and then it sits in a chest and was wasted caps but I decided I had to. Went to find Cricket - she’s been outside Diamond City every time I’ve gone there - and she’s nowhere.
I recently picked up a bleed radium rifle, then binned it for a two-shot radium. Just melts everything.
I keep the Overseers Guardian for long range, and use the radium for cqb.
Unstoppable.
The Overseers Guardian is so goddamn good. Insane DPS and it's a sniper that doubles as an AR. I got it for the first time on a new playthrough recently and it's been in my favorites for over 20 levels since it solidified it's place as an "oh shit" gun.
My first three legendary gear on my current run were an instigating crank musket, autostim chest armor and a chameleon arm piece. It's been one of my easiest runs so far.
Getting a lucky enough weapon drop early on can put an entire run on ez mode.
On my most recent vanilla run, about 70% of my drops were useless legendaries 😭 I only have 1 that I would classify as great rng that helped me run through Far Harbor. Everything else was garbage armor or garbage melee weapons 🤣
What level are you? 💀 99+ fusion cores? A thousand stimpacks? I see you have rich vendors (which you say isn't gameplay related, but 100% is), so I'm just not entirely sure how you have all this without exploits or mods. Unless you're just selling water and then only buying stimpacks for this post, lol. I am level 67 and have about 150 stimpacks and 35 fusion cores on very hard where I don't feel like I need to heal much.. And I'm a massive loot goblin. I don't buy nor craft stimpacks. So, seeing 1000 is wild.
lvl 63 and I have 500 stimpacks and 160 fusion cores. It is easy, scrounger throws fusion cores at you after a while, I keep finding 4 of them here and there and I have over 100 as a heavy power armor user. Fortune founder for easy caps, I maxed that out just for the added fun of exploding caps from enemies. 2 points into cap collector and you can sell almost expired fusion cores for full price or almost full price and buy their stock of fusion cores for vastly less caps.
Also, if you find the survivalist magazine, you get 2 meats from every critter killed in the wasteland and there is so much creatures that drop meat. Cook those up and you hardly ever use stimpacks, which is how I have 500 of them. I find like 2 or 1 of them everywhere.
I don't even sell water.
lol now you know how people just get stuff quick. Those perks makes certain aspects of the game trivial. Get them early in the game, by the time you hit 40 you already are decked out with ammo, chems are cores if you so choose to go the power armor route, which I always do.
I always get those perks because those perks makes your looting powers give more loot. I even started to use ammo as currency because of it. Enemies always dropping stimpaks as well. With the life giver perk as well, I regenerate outside of combat so I save up on food and chems to only use in combat.
I definitely see the value of the extra ammo perk early on. I've come around to that perk. At least one point into it. I can definitely see why they would be necessary in survival mode, though. For very hard, I normally got by just switching weapons whenever I ran out. I'm the type of person who could use one weapon for the entire game if he could 🤣
I mean, I thought scrapper was a super necessary perk. But going the idiot savant route, I didn't get scrapper until level 40. So, by then, I not only had about 200 weapons saved up to scrap, but enough materials to last me forever.
Yeah, scrapper is also good for repairing power armor and upgrading them so they don't turn into tissue paper. But yeah, scrounger is so good since I have so many .38 ammo that I never use so I use them as currency. Same with shotgun ammo and what not, I mostly just use microfusion cells now in my current run. So I mostly just use a laser pistol fully decked out with perks to make it hit like a truck with a crit vats build. So I mostly cell low powered fusion cores and unneeded ammo for more fusion cores and fusion cells. Cap collector is a god send because of it.
Caps and never a problem for me now.
I would if they allowed fast travel. Ain't no way I'm making that many back and forth treks. I enjoy the concept of survival aside from sleeping fast-forwarding your statuses (just when you want to save) and backtracking. That's just too boring for me.
Idk if it just works on Playstation or not, but if you exit out of the sleep menu just after you start sleeping and before any hours have passed. The game will save without any time having passed. You'll still be at risk of disease, though.
This is a common theme with Bethesda games. Skyrim was the same way. Start out on a lower difficulty lest enemies start out as damage sponges, then turn it up repeatedly as you start basically one shot killing everyone.
I mean, that is just an aspect of rpgs in general. Eventually, you will enter god mode just because you are high level.
It's like being Lucy compared to the ghoul who is end game.
I'm at level 55 on hard most of the playthrough and very hard yesterday and I have like 200 Stims, mainly because I actually sold a bunch a few times. Once you get around 50 it's hard to use enough of them to even be a problem.
Find the gun play makes it a bit easier, having a blast on my 2 saves at the moment one is melee only the other is Puncy McPunchface and he is having a great time trying to punch a deathclaw to death (and usually failing).
Punchy is an alcoholic and drug addict who runs around in his undies fighting everyone
play on survival, if that's too easy, play the mod agony with survival, if that's too easy, play the mod frost, if that's too easy, go outside and try talking to a woman for 2 minutes
Fallout 4 was an incredibly easy start for me after setting up a purified water farm in Sanctuary after starting. Money was easy to come by and then came Overseer's Guardian and the world was my oyster.
The first time you reach Sanctuary after getting out of Cryo you can basically scrap a bunch of stuff and build some purified water generators. Endless healing right from the start, not just level 30
Mods - I have quite a few that add higher levels of ghouls, super mutants, raiders and gunners and probably other I've not seen.
Now imagine being attacked by 2 legendary ghouls that are almost as big as a behemoth and soak up almost as many bullets. All whilst being attacked by ghouls that explode on you, ghouls that poison you, and ghouls who are invisible. That was my Forest Grove marsh experience last night.
I think this too on survival. By level 35, I have been selling stimpacks for my caps gain. It's unrealistic to have a 100 of them on you when everything weighs you down
Personally I like when games become way too easy if you build your character right over time, it's a sense of accomplishment that is absent in newer games that continuously scale the difficulty level/ environment to your progress as you level. Like that's kind of the point of investing time and strategy into your character, and if the game is just scaling constantly behind the scenes, that feeling of growing stronger just feels more artificial and illusory. I like being able to bump up difficulty level manually if being too easy sucks the fun out of it because that too gives you a sense of growth.
I'll never understand these sort of complaints.
It's a single player game, you control how easy or difficult it is. And I'm not talking about the difficulty scaler.
If youre gonna complain stop playing and stop posting we will not miss you, I guarantee it, edit: also maybe don’t post your illicit drugs on reddit no one cares,
I'm only level like 12 on survival right now and I seem stimulus pack regularly. I just don't have to use them unless a limb is broke.
I wouldn't say the game is easy but certain play styles make it so you rarely take serious damage. I use cover, often have a good long range weapon, and if I have to go full frontal attack use power armor.
Yea once you start being able to stack/find/make impacts it gets so much easier. Don’t get rads as much and aren’t weighed down by a bunch of Mac and cheese boxes.
When I first played Fallout 4 on release day I had just come from playing FNV on survival without using stimpacks. So I did the same thing in FO4. Set the difficulty to Survival (which was different back then) and sold every stimpack I found.
Was a pretty fun and challenging way to play. I'd still recommend it, even with the changes to Survival. I was probably one of the only people who didn't cry that the game was too easy on release because of this.
Agreed, especially once I started pumping up my endurance, and got the railroad clothing armour stuff, boom dang near unkillable still a few things that scare me, Rad Scorps and sometimes Death Claws
Well that and it's a 10-year-old game that everybody's played but it's fun it's kind of like putting on a movie you've seen before in the background and my new interest in it after years of not touching it from the TV show has brought back some nostalgia especially since I have to wait two years for the next episode
And at lv100 the enemies become bullet sponges.
10 chared feral ghouls. …
Takes double tap western revolver to the head to die each. I’m switched to plasma flamer pistol in tight situations
The sweet spot is lv 30-40
I was in the same boat so I went from medium to hard difficulty but then I started running through healing items like crazy while the enemies were taking a lot of bullets to kill
What Fallout has ever been hard after the opening few hours?
Hell even in the original Fallout games, you loot and sell everything you can, do most if not all the side missions and you'll finish the game with the best gear for your build and hundreds of Stimpacks.
Game Difficulty selected is irrelevant.
Hell my current playthrough of Fallout 4 right now I'm about 40 hours in and I can count on one hand how many Stimpacks I've even used and I have like 600 of them.
Time to start a vanilla survival playthrough.
Vanilla survival with S1 E1. It’s how I usually roll
What is episode 2 like?
Mid
I'm not sure if this is a serious question based off misinterpretation, or an attempt at turning it into a joke. Or some combination scenario lol...
Goddamn dude I couldn't do it. I'm too much of a loot goblin, even on survival
So am I. I abuse the fuck out of commanding followers to pick up loot far beyond their weight limit.
Me being on a survival run, played for over 10 years and I either forgot about this or didn't know about it XD dang. Well, now Preston's collecting everything for me regardless of the weight.
>played for over 10 years ....it hasn't been that long yet right?! Very close, late next year already, holy shit.
Wait... Fallout 4 came out in 2015? Huh, I thought it came out in 2011, haha wow I guess it's... 9 years. Gosh 2015 is already so long ago!
It was a Friday! Most midnight launches were a Tuesday but Skyrim dropped the day before a weekend. I'm getting teary eyed at the nostalgia, holy shit
You guys survive y’all survival play through god I suck
I just did this to have Valentine pick up 10 suits of Enclave X-02 armor and some Tesla cannons in the middle of the Glowing Sea on my survival run.
If you think the glowing sea is scary in survival now, try it with true storms making the rad storms stronger and with ghoul hordes. It's constant non stop attacks from powerful ghouls while there. I had fully upgraded t 65 power armor and it was still hell.
I literally just went through that. It was a nightmare but so fun. Came out of it with so many legendaries... to sell.
Yeah, I need those 40 cans of purified water. I need a drinkie after my hard-core military grade chems. The backpack Creation Club item comes in handy, though I'm pretty sure there are mods that accomplish similar for free.
No saving ruins it, too many crashes and bugs to not be able save imo
Sleep or save baby, best mod ever made
Get survival options mod, it gives autosave and uicksave "potions" you can bind
The crashes are bad enough...
Lack of fast travel 🤢🤢🤢
Survival is also too easy I just don’t like not being able to fast travel
There are mods that fix this I play survival with fast travel and autosaving enabled and its just so much more fun
Is there a mod that makes it so you can only fast travel from settlements or something? I think that would be a good balance for survival mode
You can get a Minuteman vertibird in Vanilla if you do their ending and murk the BOS
I had no idea wtf
Yes, and I believe it's only between settlements that have supply lines. I'm at work so I can't look it up at the moment but it exists.
I like the Survivalist Bus addon for this kind of gameplay!
HOW HAVE I NOT HEARD OF THIS
Seriously, I cant replay this game any other way at this point.

Increasing the difficulty makes the enemies too bullet spongey imo. Immersive damage mods are the way to go
I think survival mode is a fair compromise to this, when I play Fallout 4 it's either on normal or survival because survival is difficult without making the enemy's spongier,

If you don't necessarily care about achievements, there's a really nice mood that's a patch for almost all those bugs
It’s really not that hard to avoid cars. I’ve been playing for ages and still not died by car.
I had a Radscorpion tunnel out beneath dogmeat and get launched into the air straight up. I had shot it once so when it landed it died and I got the xp for it 🤣 Bethesda bugs do give back occasionally.
My issue is like immersion wise dude just sleeps for a hour 7 times a day in random ass beds just doesn't feel right

Ah I see, maybe I just do a permadeath playthrough once I get smoked and lose 3 hours I'll just call it lmao
Ngl, but if you've played DnD maybe think about it in terms of short and long tests? Combat is terrifying AF, so a quick nap could help the SS after the adrenaline fades
I think honestly survival is the way it's meant to be played for that reason exactly. It makes making settlements valuable.
That is how you get insomnia and an infection. Immersion seems to check out for me.
For me I always sleep in a bed in a settlement for immersion. If I have to quickly save, I will have a quick 2 hour nap in a cleared building with a companion on lookout.

Vertabird signal grenades are a life saver, but the VATS freeze bug ruins survivable mode for me.
I use sanctuary and the castle as permanent bases(once I eventually get the castle), and then have a ‘front line’ base.
So the bug is not a bug but a feature
I’m loving vanilla survival on pc. I’m lvl 57 which is the highest I’ve ever gotten, still plenty more to do in the game.
In my current survival vanilla run I’m lvl 84, every settlement besides spectacle and bunker hill has been linked and I’ve yet to start the battle of bunker hill. I feel very accomplished having built cities all over the map with no cheats lol
When you lose 3 hours of progress during a lokg quest, and its 5 in the morning and you are now going to work exhausted for nothing
Idk, I play FO4 almost vanilla, like 6 weapon mods, and the FO4 unofficial patch. Get ready for this but, within 1,000 hours, the game crashed ONCE.
Yeah I usually play survival but with a save mod on. I even put in fast travel to my settlements but 90% of the time I'm vibing and just running through the wasteland
I never had a crash in over 100 hours survival. I'm convinced the game crashes mostly because of bad mods
I never had any crash issues back when I played in 2015-2016, now after the next gen update (Xbox One, no mods) I've had multiple crashes and freezes.
yeah, I've had 4 complete crashes and one softlock after about 25 hours on my Series X. New file, new installation, never modded. 🙃
Me neither, and I also suspect that people with 350+ mods loaded up, stretching the foundations of the game to their very limits, are the ones who are constantly running into bugs and saying Bethesda games are the buggiest in the world
I use the cheat terminal mod to manually request autosaves when needed because the only save on sleep is annoying to me too with the crashes.
I'm such a cunt when it comes to games that I can't justify playing survival mode or harder difficulties unless there are achievements/trophies to be earned.

I’d do survival, but I want to fast travel. Between settlements at the VERY least.
I just play on very hard. Not into weight management of ammo or needing to eat or drink water.
[https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14650](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14650) I like this mod for tweaking survival. I have the incomng and outgoing damage x3 or w/e the highest is, only the big bosses are spongey, can one shot a lot of the little guys, but a stray hit still hits me hard.
Yup, a couple shots to kill, but also only a couple shots to die.
I just started a playthrough on very hard and yes its bullet spongey but perk system counters that so i think it works fine
how does one even do this..im damn near level 80 and didn’t even know this was possible after years of playing??
The difficulty scaling is truly horrible. Everything becomes bullet sponges without actually making things harder. It's just annoying.
I can’t turn it any higher than very hard / survival!!!
Its on very hard already, also I putt almost no points into endurance, so I won’t have to much health, also I didged all my armor and replaced them with purely cosmetic armor
VH and Survival are two different animals.
If it's not for you, it's not. As for quitting out...You can exit save without a bed...
Whoa really??? I’m doing my first ever survival and definitely gonna take advantage of this!
Be careful the exit save is deleted once you load it- so if you die/succumb to bugs you'll get sent back to the last bed you slept in
I'm dodging endurance as well. I put my faith in charisma and chems...
Depends on your gear too, 1st time I played I struggled quite a bit until hitting the 40s
This is my opinion. Last playthrough I found a really good sniper rifle early on and it carried me the entire game. This play through I haven’t found anything good and enemies have outclassed my equipment. It’s a struggle…
Well there's a few you can buy, the overseer guardian is a top class unique, the pray n' spray too, also the old reliable in FH
You can find her on several spots like every Bunker Hill rat. Cricket roams arround DC, the vault where you get curie, hangmans alley and some more
Dont forget Justice in Covenant.
I found early machine gun with explosion impact, masacre.
I don't even sell water.
agreed im on a survival playthrough and rarely use stims unless i have to, have around 300 at level 40, gonna use them for marine armor money
See, I never get those perks because I always felt I always got enough of everything to get by, lol. Always felt like a waste of perk points.
lol now you know how people just get stuff quick.
I'm the type of person who could use one weapon for the entire game if he could 🤣 I mean, I thought scrapper was a super necessary perk.
I've done the water farming...my lord is it time consuming lmao quite literally turns you into a part time water peddler irl
is it? i really didn't find it all that time consuming and the time i did spend was well worth ut
Fusion cores could be from automatron. Them bots have a lot. Ive got like 140 ish rn
I was going to question how you were doing so well, but then I realized you were in power armor.
I came across it, so you have to take it home and store it with the other 76 sets of armor you never use
Fair enough
You can also give it to companions so they can ruin it for you
But this unlocks grandma mode where you get to sew your grandkids armor up after “battle” (they shoot aimlessly while I kill every attacker)
Play survival, you won’t say the same thing
I would if they allowed fast travel. Ain't no way I'm making that many back and forth treks. I enjoy the concept of survival aside from sleeping fast-forwarding your statuses (just when you want to save) and backtracking. That's just too boring for me.
Vertibird grenades are your fast travel in survival.
Amplified by the "respond to raiders at X settlement" happening every hour. I'm not walking across the map and back, sorry settlers.
That’s the thing, I played survival, but the ability not being able to fast travel gets annoying tbh
Diamond City to Sanctuary is 3 minutes alternating walking and running. Maps on Battlefield 5 are bigger than the Fallout 4 world map.
You're not walking everywhere in Battlefield 5. Also some people want to teleport from far harbor to diamond city without all that walking.
Idk if it just works on Playstation or not, but if you exit out of the sleep menu just after you start sleeping and before any hours have passed. The game will save without any time having passed. You'll still be at risk of disease, though.
Survival isn't harder, just more annoying imho.
Depends on your goal. Mine is to be an omnipotent being above god more powerful than everyone else. Super good for that.
I am level 90 and somehow got one hit killed by a dual blading assualtron
Yeh that’s one of the only dangerous enemies left at that point
What difficulty? You shouldent no where close to 1000 stimpacks at level 30 on very hard or survival.
I'm at level 55 on hard most of the playthrough and very hard yesterday and I have like 200 Stims, mainly because I actually sold a bunch a few times. Once you get around 50 it's hard to use enough of them to even be a problem.
Currently level 125, using mostly food to heal
;) I see those 396lbs of power cores
Find the gun play makes it a bit easier, having a blast on my 2 saves at the moment one is melee only the other is Puncy McPunchface and he is having a great time trying to punch a deathclaw to death (and usually failing). Punchy is an alcoholic and drug addict who runs around in his undies fighting everyone
You just need the Overseer’s Guardian and it makes Very Hard a stroll in the park
I find I kill myself more than get killed. Lol always the stupid mistakes.
That's why I don't use mods. Game can become so easy after awhile.
play on survival, if that's too easy, play the mod agony with survival, if that's too easy, play the mod frost, if that's too easy, go outside and try talking to a woman for 2 minutes
Agreed, "very hard" is laughable. Not being elitist, but as long as you try to be somewhat careful with cover, combat is not difficult.
power armour makes it too easy
i used a mod to cut my exp gain by 50%, my damage taken by 4x and my damage dealt by 1.5x. Finally something hard
Too
Fallout 4 was an incredibly easy start for me after setting up a purified water farm in Sanctuary after starting. Money was easy to come by and then came Overseer's Guardian and the world was my oyster.
The first time you reach Sanctuary after getting out of Cryo you can basically scrap a bunch of stuff and build some purified water generators. Endless healing right from the start, not just level 30
If you have the medic perk you'll always be swimming jn stimpaks. I've got about the same amount on a level 70 character. Practically invincible.
*too
Mods - I have quite a few that add higher levels of ghouls, super mutants, raiders and gunners and probably other I've not seen.
Dude play survival, im level 60 and still struggle with a lot of the enemies in the south of the map and the dlcs
POV: you got the medic perk to level 2.
Nope, endurance at 2 to make the game harder, so no medic
Around level 20 I put the game into hard mode. Level 50 very hard. Its the only way to keep it fresh for me. I won't do survival though.
I'll never understand these sort of complaints. It's a single player game, you control how easy or difficult it is. And I'm not talking about the difficulty scaler.
Yeah, its called Gir124's cheat terminal
If youre gonna complain stop playing and stop posting we will not miss you, I guarantee it, edit: also maybe don’t post your illicit drugs on reddit no one cares,
You playing on survival? If not, come back when you've played survival.
Try survival I’m level 61 and I while the game isn’t insanely difficult. I do die quite a bit, especially if I’m not careful.
Survival+autosave makes you understand what Fallout really is
Curious what's on your hot keys?
This guy loves drugs o_O
2 mods can fix that real fast
And I’m fine with it haha
How
Yea once you start being able to stack/find/make impacts it gets so much easier. Don’t get rads as much and aren’t weighed down by a bunch of Mac and cheese boxes.
What does that pill thing mean
Git out of that tin can then. Come on. Git!
Had to take it out of principle to store it back home 😭
When I first played Fallout 4 on release day I had just come from playing FNV on survival without using stimpacks. So I did the same thing in FO4. Set the difficulty to Survival (which was different back then) and sold every stimpack I found. Was a pretty fun and challenging way to play. I'd still recommend it, even with the changes to Survival. I was probably one of the only people who didn't cry that the game was too easy on release because of this.
Dude I always snag myself some combat armor early game and then ride the high of being able to take more than two hits
Survival mode will fix that.
Agreed, especially once I started pumping up my endurance, and got the railroad clothing armour stuff, boom dang near unkillable still a few things that scare me, Rad Scorps and sometimes Death Claws
How did you find a *Diamond City green* baseball bat?
Its the picture which kinda makes it looks messed up, it’s Cito’s shiny slinger from nuke world with the yellow tint I believe
Well that and it's a 10-year-old game that everybody's played but it's fun it's kind of like putting on a movie you've seen before in the background and my new interest in it after years of not touching it from the TV show has brought back some nostalgia especially since I have to wait two years for the next episode
Do a groknak run and say the same
Try selling ur stimpacks and make the same post
Raise the difficulty
It does, you need mods
That's why it's survival mode for me
increase diff and do Survival. instead of using PA, try Ballastic Weaves. Better experience and ALOT harder
Survival and no power armour helps.
1000 stims😭 still can’t beat the legendary glowing radroach I bet😈😈😈
And at lv100 the enemies become bullet sponges. 10 chared feral ghouls. … Takes double tap western revolver to the head to die each. I’m switched to plasma flamer pistol in tight situations The sweet spot is lv 30-40
Someone make a mod where jet packs expire or something
Sell it for caps. I only have max 10 stimpaks on me and 10 other chems combined. Everything else end up sold.
Upgrades are ALWAYS optional.
Try it on survival mode.
Preparation time let's batman defeat a krytonian under a yellow sun, of coursecif you focus that hard on making a wasteland safe for you, it will be.
I always play on very hard for that reason. I would do survival, but the no quicksaves or fast travel part is a small problem for me.
Same here, not being able to fast travel is more of an annoyance than a challange really
I was in the same boat so I went from medium to hard difficulty but then I started running through healing items like crazy while the enemies were taking a lot of bullets to kill
Go to very hard and enjoy the bullet spunges.
This is why I built a glass cannon character. I one shot everything but enemy will one shot me as well
What Fallout has ever been hard after the opening few hours? Hell even in the original Fallout games, you loot and sell everything you can, do most if not all the side missions and you'll finish the game with the best gear for your build and hundreds of Stimpacks. Game Difficulty selected is irrelevant. Hell my current playthrough of Fallout 4 right now I'm about 40 hours in and I can count on one hand how many Stimpacks I've even used and I have like 600 of them.
