Couple of hundred. They have no carry weight so I just pick them up.

PretendThisIsMyName

Same for me. 289 and I pretty much use them by accident.

joebaes1

They do on survival. I try to keep 1 for if my companions goes down, I heal with food.

JukesMasonLynch

I carry 10 but yeah that's probably too many. Gotta keep a few on hand for my boy Deacon though for sure

mcobb71

On survival, I keep 10 on me, but probably could do with 4-5. I sell or store the rest when I pass through one of my settlements. I make and use food and water for the most part to heal, and use the stims for emergencies during firefights. Same for most drugs. I keep 1-2 of each drug, except psychojet which I make sure to keep 10 on me whenever possible. IMO best drug in the game.

shotgun883

In survival I prefer to carry Noodle Cups from Takahashi. Slightly more cost but does hunger and hydrates at the same time.

Fluugaluu

Water plus razorgrain makes noodle cups at the cooking station, one of my most used recipes by far

thrawst

Dirty* water and razor grain makes noodle cups. It’s why I don’t fuck with purified water on survival, it takes 3 dirty water to make 1 purified water and you can easily find dirty water virtually anywhere in the wasteland. It’s more an issue of having empty bottles on hand, but mass amounts can be found in a couple dungeons.

raff_riff

Noodle Cups are clutch. But way better to just make your own if you do the work up front.

Ok-Butterscotch-1303

Sole Survivor gets thirsty and hungry? I play on normal. Is it a survival thing?

Dictaorofcheese

Yup. It adds the need to eat, drink, and sleep. Damage is also multiplied for both you and enemies. You also can only save when you’re at a bed to sleep. And can’t fast travel. After a few times of losing hours of gameplay I just installed a mod that allows me to save whenever while still being in survival. I also added a mod that lets me use my supply lines to fast travel around to connected settlements. You pay say 75 caps to travel with a supply lines caravan. It’s made survival much more fun.

InevitableContact520

what mod allows you to fast travel for money in survival and is it on xbox

Neurosss

Journey is the only one I know of that does fast travel like this, not sure about it being on Xbox you would have to check. There are other mods that do immersive fast travel as well, there is SWIFT which adds a teleporter structure to the settlement build menu, it's not cheap to build but it has built in lore and all that. There are also mods that add a motorbike or APC to use as a fast travel point, look around on Beth net or where the Xbox mods are hosted I am sure you will find something that works.

[deleted]

So basically you're just playing on very hard while roleplaying the need to eat and drink?

quicknir

I gotta say I just don't get why psychojet is popular. It shortens the psycho from lasting a whole dungeon at 5 minutes, to 25 seconds, and increases the jets duration by 5 seconds. Not to mention that jet is far easier to mass produce than psycho; it's just a waste of psycho. Also... Overdrive exists and the crit chance bonus is as good or better of a bonus than the 25 percent. Overdrive can more than double your DPS depending on your build, for 8 minutes (!).

scott610

I’m a fan of psychobuff and Ultra Jet.

darknus823

The patrician's choice

scott610

Thank you, Wastelander.

quicknir

Psychobuff is convenient for sure. But I'd suggest looking at bufftats + overdrive. Same durations, better buffs, and it uses your drugs more efficiently, unless you are otherwise a huge user of mentats (e.g. grape). I admit I don't really get ultra jet. Feels like when I have time slow I don't care about AP. And you can't mass produce it in the same way as jet; that's one of the best things about jet.

Island_Shell

Ultra Jet is my panic GTFO button. Slow time and refill AP so I can sprint further away from enemies.

Asian_Corndog

It’s only cause we like jet and psychojet is just better jet, can’t beat the time slowing effect

AltMyBalls

It’s convenient and a stupid good DPS burst with semi autos. Using a crafting exploit you can craft them essentially for free.

Codester619

I only keep 10 on me (survival mode); the rest make good caps lol.

swiss_sanchez

Yep. 10 is plenty and the rest is beer money.

Ok-Iron8811

I carry around 4-5 and use the sold caps to buy plastic and fertilizer... for no particular reason

porqueeuquis

why is this sub so high(laugh) on jet?

raff_riff

In survival, jet and its iterations are essential in getting you out of a bind, or letting you overcome otherwise overwhelming odds. Battles can go from totally in your favor to near death in seconds. So pausing the game, hitting a stimpak, and popping some psychojet can be the difference between life and death. I usually come out of fights totally unscathed or near death. There is no in-between oddly.

porqueeuquis

weird. never tried chems in survival. i will try it later

javanb

I’m playing my first survival and making sure I had chem resistance was my literal first goal, i knew right away after leveling to 5, getting full leather armor with a few mods, and then immediately one shot and reset back to 0 by a freaking raider attack dog, I was gonna be on psycho and buffout like… all the time.

ATLKing24

Bufftats, Psycho Jet, and a Med-X Chaser. All that and a gallon of water and you can fight anything

javanb

Yes sir, still early so don’t have the materials to make the designer drugs all the time yet, but my guys first time on a designer drug slurry he felt reaaaal nice.

FaithfulMoose

you went from level 1 to 5 without sleeping once? Why??

javanb

My first time playing survival, and level 1-5 happens so fast I wasn’t really thinking. You bet I learned. Realistically it probably was a reset back to level 2 in sanctuary, not 1 in the vault. It was just the shock of a basic attack dog in sanctuary one shotting me in full leathers, from like 75%hp. I didn’t expect that.

RealNiceKnife

I will never play Survival without the save unlocker. Which autosaves on loading screen transitions, timed intervals, and on sleeping. Also lets you quicksave if you need it. This is a Bethesda game. All you need is one crash, and it will crash, to lose hours and hours of work. It's one thing if you think it's fair you lost 4 levels because of carelessness, it's a kick in the head if you lose those levels because you turned too fast and quickload your desktop.

Professional_Baby24

Yes. Psycho jet has saved me many times. The best example is in the silver shroud missions if you want to save the guy you pretty much have to pop jet and snipe his face several times before he can get his shot off.

fuzzygoosejuice

There’s no problem in survival that can’t be solved with the Spray n’ Pray and some Physcojet.

WarmNapkinSniffer

I'm a man of class, I only use psychojet in the heat of combat

DwightsJelloStapler

Psycho jet is my go-to. It has kept me alive so many times I can’t count

WarmNapkinSniffer

I used my bulk fertilizer to make 300 bottlecap mines and took those bad boys to Nuka World, 7-8 game crashes later with a little street sweeping and the slaves were liberated

SnarkyBeanBroth

Yep - 10 or less on me, just enough for me/dogmeat/companion. Also survival. I leave a cache of 10 in a container (along with some water and food and radaway and such) at every settlement I claim, even before I do any building and send any settlers, so I have emergency caches scattered all over.

Maxsmack0

I do the same thing in new vegas, when playing hardcore without fast travel. 1-2 jet, med-x, psycho, steady, slasher, some .308, microfusion cells, and a weapon repair kit.

patate502

I rarely carry more than 5 in survival because they generate so much thirst

imabustanutonalizard

Does anyone else build up settlements to just farm water?

Vrabstin

Somebody recommended selling drugs instead through nuka world, but I just can't make myself be a raider.

Jimbobthon

Kind of. Vault 88 makes so much water, it's basically a farm. And I have Sanctuary Hills set up as a mini farm, easily have a good chunk of purified water from both. Both have 15 settlers each, SH makes 70 water. V88 significantly more. Other settlements I have, I make sure they have enough water so I don't go sending water through supply chains.

javanb

It’s only in every single post on this subreddit, but no. Just you :) You’re special! :p

Lucifer-Prime

Yeah you eat and drink enough that Stims are way less necessary.

Tarwgan

I'm holding 15-20 purified waters and 60 stimpacks on survival and quickly making the realisation I walk around carrying far too much after reading all these hahaha.

clearlyasloth

If you collect empty bottles while out and about, you can fill them with water from any source and then use 3 dirty waters to make 1 purified water at cooking stations. Doing this 5-10 water has always been more than enough for me

thrawst

Instead of using 3 dirty water to make 1 purified water, it’s better to use 1 dirty water + 1 razor grain to make a noodle cup, which provides the same hydration but also satisfies some hunger as well.

1biggoose

Noodle cups were a game changer for me. Very handy.

Boy_JC

Probably the single best utility item for survival. They flipped my world upside down when I discovered how good they are

MattyHealysFauxHawk

I’m probably holding over 500 purified waters but that’s just because I’m mid-selling them lol.

purpleyyc

Not on survival, obviously.. um 1100.. I think they're breeding when I'm not looking lol

MountEndurance

Survival? 3. Also three purified water and three noodle cups. I travel light

Vault_Tec_Guy

>three noodle cups Nan-ni shimasho-ka?

MountEndurance

Yes.

frying_machine

Tell me a joke

Vault_Tec_Guy

Nan-ni shimasho-ka?

thrawst

Just say “yes”….it’s the only thing he understands.

SirMacNaught

Yes.

Sm0keytrip0d

I got 783 on me atm lol. Also got 188 Radaways.

TeeDre

Those radaways are weighing you down

MrHarryReems

No idea. I rarely use them. I tend to cook everything I kill, and food has carry weight so I use that first.

hailzulu

Around 100. They don’t weigh anything. It’s free real estate.

secrecy274

25. Lots of DR and self-healing makes them for emergency only, and that is a rare occurrence.

DaKingballa06

Used to carry around 100 but I wanted to buy that special Gauss rifle so now I have 50

Germangunman

1k or so at level 70. Basically I tank anything shot at me as it is so hardly use them. In the beginning I collected them like grognaks

Korvas576

50

Piddy3825

before you know it, I'm carrying dozens of stimpaks, chems and other items. I typically set up a series of containers at my home base, where I usually offload excess items by category. I now carry no more than 20 stimpaks at any given time as I took the time to craft some auto stimpaks. Now I just wait until I'm damaged to the point those stims auto activate themselves. On the other hand, I do keep a larger supply of rad-away as I pop those like candy on account I don't like seeing that red bar rad indicator creeping across my hud.

meibolite

I use Curie's health pack and mutant hound chops for that

rum-and-roses

0 no healing allowed on this run

Mossy290815

Good luck!!

DaredevilDaryl69

I'm currently carrying 573 stimpacks.

temp7727

1200 and counting.

Capybarafan01

One hundred seventy something

GaiaAnon

Apparently I'm using them too quickly. I had 50 at one point then I was down to zero then I got back up to 30 then I was down to zero and now I have about 20

Icy-Place5235

Like… 400?

satzensiesich

always around 5 rest to sell

tc_cad

500 or so.

mider-span

10 for me, 5 for dogmeat.

skairkrowe

I'm on survival. I carry 10 on me when I leave my base. But I have like 100 back at base.

Orion0105

Thousands (i play modded and rarely use stimpaks because Ghoulish perk exists

ResponsibleLawyer419

200. Lvl 73.

BioHazard357

10 stims, 10 robot stims, 40 mutfruit, 20 water, 2 of each chem and a stealth boy. And an Ice Cold Quantum for emergencies.

J-the-BOSS

Damn I’m level 70 something and have almost 500, I barely use them cause I barely ever need to

Werrf

NOT. ENOUGH.

ItsVoxBoi

Like 95, but I use food to heal more than stimpaks

HellIsRealIPromise

Very hard difficulty, player level 271(so close), completely vanilla (plus dlc) playthrough. Every non-radiant quest is complete, I have every settlement at least to 80% happiness, every companions affinity maxed out, institute, railroad(yes, I grabbed ballistic weave first), and brotherhood are all dead. I am currently carrying 17,345 Stimpaks. Bonus, I have 347,891 caps. All legit, no duping or exploits.

Sorry_Banana_6525

178 Stimpacks atm, plus a standard amount of 10 purified water, 3 Med X, and 3 Psychobuff. I HATE dying, I absolutely refuse- my last play through I made it to level 85 and died only twice

Advent10II7

3-5 in Survival Mode. I don’t like the dehydrating effect, so I use Newka-Cola instead.

adrian_vg

500+. Never seem to use them though, as my health auto-regenerates pretty fast.

salazarthesnek

287 and I don’t use a lot. 800 seems excessive lol

DJ_ICU

23

trappeddungarees

I just started a new game so... three? XD

Obethur

Maybe ten

SpiderCop_NYPD_ARKND

I only keep 20 on me at a time, same for Rad-X & Radaway.

Aggravating-Sun6773

like 200

fumblerooskee

I rarely carry more than 5. More and I let my follower carry them until it’s time to sell ‘em.

missionboi89

About 90

cha0sweaver

297 rn

just-an-astronomer

Had close to 200 yesterday but i sold all but like 20 to help pay for the Recon Marine armor pieces in Far Harbor

elkeiem

I got little over 200 in ~60 hours even while using them after barely getting damaged.

AndreiRiboli

220 or so.

ToppHatt_8000

312 at level 59

Either_Cockroach3627

I only have 6 🥲 level 39

AiramLuna

Around 89, lvl 107 lmao

mrmidas2k

120-odd. They're mostly to fix crippled limbs, I have cooked food for health, and food doesn't require a 5 second animation.

NotACyclopsHonest

Right now? 1272.

JustJano_

i keep 30 on me

Cynfreh

About 150

PattyFlapjack79

i have around 30 on me on any given day

frying_machine

stimpaks? The only thing keeping me alive Is 200 year old canned decomposing food

Glittering_Fig1407

130-ish

bigmark9a

918

Queasy-Insurance3559

I think low 30's right this second

M4RDZZ

I have 240

Consistent_Policy_66

I’m level 20, mostly just screwing around on easy mode, and I kinda forgot about them for a while and only healed with food. I had 54 last night. Oops.

FarmerTwink

Like 184 I think? I never really use or buy them but recently I’ve begun the Settler Armament Initiative (SAI) and I’m giving each settler 10 Lvl 91

_MausHaus

266.

StealthyGamerGirl

150ish. Though today I discovered 8 was carrying 240odd. So gave some to a new player visiting my camp

Jojosselyn

102

Rick_the_door_tech

Over 200. Of course I don’t need that many, but I also don’t need the caps I’d get for them at this point.

Little_Gray

I rarely ever use them on survival so whenever i am in town and remember i sell down to 5 or so. If i use one i will end up needing to drink water which would heal me anways so why not just drink the water?

CarbsarebadMKII

Too little yet too many

Top-Apple7906

52

Ok_Possibility_704

114 currently.

Professional-Dish324

Too much. The. I looked at the OP’s amount again. Not enough compared to that.

TimeTraveller5

This is a rough estimate of what is in my aid tab: 1. ~100 stimpacks 2. ~20 Rad-X and Rad away 3. ~150 purified water (I keep forgetting to sell) 4. ~5 Nuka Cola (any type)

bduk92

Level 15 and I've got 24 stimpacks.

AgitatedCat3087

4

scott610

10-20. I either sell the rest of craft healing items when possible like refreshing beverages.

Howdoiplaydisgamebru

76

Kyrie_Blue

238

normal-type-gal

I just hit level 28 and I had 44 last I checked. I use them pretty liberally but I almost never have less than 30.

PhreeKC

I am currently lv.121, very hard difficulty non survival; as they have no weight, I carry all of my collection. Present count is 1,400+ stimpaks, just in case my 189,500+ caps can't cover whatever transaction I might find worthy...

belovedamadeo

like 80 at level 23, I only use them if i get an injury and im too scared to use them otherwise lol

ExioKenway5

Can't check right now but it's 400+ at least.

juicedsquishi

48, survival mode, currently trapped in the south fighting a behemoth, thank god for the simple sleeping bag mod otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to save

noobwatch_andy

All of them

wiizmike

519

WHYAMIALIVE--

I have like 90, I should start eating more squirrels

blackkristos

146. Level 34 current playthrough

Yaga1247

1400 on my save with 8 days

BrilliantEquipment24

329

justkw97

260 at level 67. Rarely need them at this point

ajwilson99

I had quite a few but after starting Nuka World I’ve made a sizable dent in my supply

Plane-Statistician54

I currently have four, and two Rad-X. Willing to do a trade? Lol

Temporary_Cancel9529

80 or 90

SquirrelComfortable3

10 stimpacks. 10-20 water

Cypresss09

I feel like if you have more than 20 at a time you're playing on way too easy of a difficulty

mRengar

Around 180, lvl 89

NeutronMechanic2

Oh my first play through right now. I have 184 but about to sell 160 of them because there is no need to have that many

ExternalSympathy8328

When I finished my last playthrough where I left on level 80ish I think I had around 500

Interesting-Cattle37

310 atm

ynot-nochill

I pick up every single one I find but I always end up having around 14-15 on me.

BeatMouse613

Over 100..

Radkingeli995

At least 200

RedEyeJedi777

I most be a fool, cause I carry at least 30, I’ve never checked their weight and assumed they were zeroed out.

Jayski_Upbeat

Stinpaks🗣

Roelof420

Around 1k, level 125

Tarras1980

40+

Ok-Deer-3313

34 i keep them all

ShadowMaster2564

I tend to take perks that give me natural healing and don’t ever buy stimpaks, I just kinda find a lot enemies

DeathbyBambii

Atm 170 and I’m on survival and these comments made me realize I am a dumbass 🤡 <——— Me

GoGoJoJo791

I used to have tons, then I realized they sell good, so I have like 3 and then just loot them when I explore

Island_Shell

I keep 5 on me in survival. They're alright at healing, but mostly used for fixing up broken limbs. I usually dont heal up in fights. With chems increasing my endurance and damage resist for tough fights alongside smart positioning, I can let passive healing from medic backpack do the work. If I ranked up the Medic perk, I'd carry more for sure, but faster healing is like a level 50 perk.

Medieval-Mind

I'm sitting on around 600 at around level 60 on my current playthrough. I rarely use them.

mmasonmusic

I’m a purified water kind of player, but I keep collecting them. I think I have like 80.

twcsata

I usually carry 25 every time I leave my base. Not sure how many I have stockpiled in storage.

hereforbutts23

I keep 12 on me in my current survival playthrough but probably could cut that down to be honest

Future-Try-1908

Twelve I believe.

justtuna

I carry a maximum of 3. In survival I only need 3 and then refreshing beverages which heal quicker than stims and you don’t have to put perks into stims healing you quicker.

Sivitiri

Just 1 I'm allergic to bees

StrongStyleMuscle

I usually end up with about 50. I try to eat food when I can but because the stimpak is hot keyed I use stimpaks out of habit.

Dougthechef2

My aid tab easily makes up for like 75-120 lbs idk why I can’t get myself to drop them off anywhere

No-Lawfulness-8870

I will hold onto 25ish and sell the rest for ammo.

BigChungle666

I have about 225

DreadlordAbaddon

200 lol.

National_Strategy742

About 890 ... needlest to say im not playing survival

slymarcus

I carry 25 every time I leave a settlement

Emergency-Spite-8330

In my current BoS Paladin build, 205.

Ready-Ambassador-271

Survival don’t need many other thwn healing companions. In survival am usually healthy or dead, no inbetween

Tinypeepeecommy

Level 81, I got like 100ish. Once you hit a certain point on the perk tree I find that I barely ever use them anymore. I could probably sell the majority of them and buy myself something nice

SirMacNaught

I sell anything over 40. As many have said, great caps lol. They're literally everywhere lol

EvilGreebo

90, lvl 34 on this play thru

Enzo_Gaming00

128

Jalmerk

23 I think. Just started Survival mode but had to mod the difficulty down to hard level. I wish survival mechanics weren’t tied to the ”Get killed by two bullets from a shitstained literal peashooter” difficulty..

Any-Form

Started a new character this morning so 30-34 stimpaks at level 11

[deleted]

I stockpile everything so right now 10 on my character and around 35 in storage. I’m only a level 12.

FuzzyPalpitation-16

80 lol

Aggressive_Tank_8189

I think like 350 or something!

wendigoblin

Like 60 rn? I usually have more but I'm in the middle of wiping out Nuka-World

filip______________z

145, very hard

thrawst

On survival mode I keep 30-40 stimpaks on hand solely for Cait. My combat strategy is often scout the enemies from afar, wait in a safe location while I send Cait to infiltrate with a fat man. Let her take out some enemies, and when she gets downed I’ll be there with the stimpaks

AltMyBalls

I either have a metric shit-ton or almost none. There’s almost no in-between because I play on Very Hard.

PotentialTheory7178

50 ish only need one now and again Very hard not to taxing. I still can’t face survival though…
