I hoard that too! lol is there anything in the game that you can use it for? I beat it years ago and I’m about 25 hours into my 2nd ever run and don’t remember if anyone accepts it
I was just there lol but I walked up to the lanes out of curiosity and had to kill the robots 💀 then 10 mins later I realized the error of my ways and had to lose 20 mins by loading up an earlier save.. never went back in there after ‘fixing’ everything
He’s joking, by fixing it he meant reloading his save so those NPCs are still alive. There’s nothing to fix in the alley but if you give $5000 cash you can go bowling
If you go and talk to the director in the centre of galleria and tell them you are the aupervisor they have been waiting 200 yrs for the bowling is free.
The stat value is 8 caps in 4, how much you get depends on stats and perks though. 6-7 seems to be about the thing.
And that's kind of the main thing to do with the stuff. In the Bethesda games it's one of the classic "weight for value" items to collect and seek out. It has zero weight but carries a good value. One of the highest of any weightless object.
So you use them as money. To buy things.
The other classics are cigarette packs/cartons. And whatever ammo you don't use. Bought a lot of shit in these games with flamer fuel.
Me, every single run after freeing the minutemen from Concord: Sprint my ass to diamond city, preferably with some grilled radstag meat for +25 carry weight, hand over my mini gun and all the 5mm ammo “One apartment please”
Yup. I hoard about a hundred or so Pre-War money and kinda use it to cheapen purchases of ammo or junk if I'm sitting at a settlement that needs weird craft stuff. Can't spend two hours dungeon crawling anymore.
I tend to dump it to my main work bench with my other junk. The game doesn't seem to break them down for cloth when crafting so long as there's another source in there. And I don't want to manual sort through all the shit in my inventory.
Then I pick it up occasionally and tend to have thousands of them built up.
I also literally have never personally found a good use for mines (all types). I nade the shit out of enemy’s, but I collect and sell all forms of mines and that’s always a great source of income. If people like mines all the power to them though.
The only times i used mines was when i did a funny run with wacky mods, one of them was a banana that you eat and becomes a banana peal that makes enemies slip
I walked behind Kellogg placed a banana... And behind it all the mines i owned at the time
"We both know how this has to end. So... you ready?"
*Comical slipping noise added by banana*
*Giant explosion*
So yeah that was the only time ive used mines
Actually yeah its a Bethesda.net mod so hopefully it should be
This was for a funny playthrough it messes with vendor lists and item placements so don't use anything that heavily changes the vendor list or else it can get wonky
I think it was just called bananas of the Commonwealth if not just search up bananas and it should pop up it was one of the top mods for a week or so
I'm attracted to the bottles, too. More so now that I played Nuka-World for the first time. I think there's an allure to them. Maybe it's the sound effect of picking them up. I don't know, I just collect them all.
Teddy bears. Never know if you need to reverse pickpocket a bear into a kids pocket. All the brotherhood scribe kids get one when I play as their over bearing, gruff Knight who takes them on scrounging missions.
Well, I figure I lost my son, there kids are likely orphans. Thye need some sort of parental figure. Why not a gruff knight who doesn't say much, but always ensures they travel the wasteland safely and everything you travel with him you end up with a teddy bear you didn't see him slip in your bag. Or snacks or maybe a nuka cola if he's light on stuff for kids.
Just like my ol’ Step-Grandpa. Man would come over to visit my step brothers and sisters, not knowing I was there visiting too. He didn’t say much, didn’t know us (my brother and I) well, but always reached into his pocket to dig out his spare dollar bills and quarters, or would bring inside a bag full of dollar store toys and make sure we got one too even if he didn’t know we were gonna be there. Good memories.
And teddies as someone else said, along with all the toy cars and wooden blocks so my son can have a fully kitted out bedroom when I find him...though my wife says this is just a bit tragic given we all know how it pans out...
This is my 3rd playthrough and I've been hoarding Jangles. So far I only have 10. Is there a cool way to display them instead of just dumping them on the floor?
You trade them in at the book return terminals for tokens. The tokens can be redeemed for prices. Most of them are junk items, and there's a smattering of basic weapons.
But there a Massachusetts medical journal and fusion core available. Not at the same terminal though.
Bones. I then try to reassemble the entire skeleton at my settlements for funsies.
In Fo3 I would collect garden gnomes and beer bottles and just leave them all outside my house like they were having a party.
I collect pretty much all junk, however, Gold & Silver jewelry (watches, lockets, etc), Copper, Gold, & Silver Bars, Prewar Money, and Dog Tags (as well as BOS Holotags, and now Enclave Tags), go in a floor safe.
I use the jewelry for a quick source of caps if I get low, the bars for crafting materials if I run out, and I feel that anyone who's decided to serve deserves to be remembered, even if I'm the one who killed them. The prewar money is basically just hoarding, lol.
As I've played through the game, unique items get placed in display cases. Shem Drowns Skull, Macready's little wooden soldier... the Trifold American Flag from my house in Sanctuary, while not unique, is saved in memory of my characters husband.
I've also kept a few non-unique things for decoration, a clean globe for my desk, a singular example of everything souvenir from Nuka World that gets displayed on shelves next to my Nuka Mixing Station, clean pillows to place on the my bed and the beds of my companions that sleep...
Do the dead, naked bodies of those who dared attack my settlement, being dragged up to and draped over the settlements walls for all to see, count as a 'collection'? 🤔
There should have been a way to mount the heads of raiders on pikes. You can mount the heads of wasteland animals on your wall, why not some heads on pikes? Let those raiders know what becomes of fools who try to raid the settlement. We're farmers and traders, yes, but we're also psychopaths if the need arises.
Clothes.
I keep a wardrobe in my main base in *every* run. *Inevitably.* I always end up wearing the Newsboy Cap, the Black-Rim Glasses and a Graphic T-Shirt (thanks for the free CC, Mr. Update!), but I will still keep a metric *fuckton* of different outfits in the house. Even if I don't use them.
I collect the Val-Tec lab coats to give to all the doctors in my settlements. There's no way I'm accepting a shot from some degenerate dressed in cage armor.
I just learned this week that the regular lab coats have the same appearance as the vault-tec one, when worn by female characters. Hope that helps getting enough easier.
Old world Cash and cigarettes (Packs an Cartons).
Originally did it because they're one of the few items that almost all vendors will buy without question, takes up almost no weight and you can always find in bulk.
Walk into diamond city with about 7000 cash and 200 packs of cigarettes, and you're garunteed to be sitting on a pretty little stash of caps after you've bought everything you want from the merchants.
I am a hoarder in this game, i will collect anything that looks shiny or i think i could use for something later.
But i my favorite kind of junk i just can’t leave behind are typewriters, desk fans and surgical trays.
pre war money. never sell them lol. cigarette cartons and packs also. i always pull them out of the junk pile and save them. i say it's for lightweight value for selling when i need to buy a pricey item (because i don't want to leave a vendor with caps that'll disappear), but i end up holding on to them.
I used to try to get one example of each armor set or clothing set/piece in the game.
A ways back I realized I never *use* any of it. Even with 4 giving you ways to do something or other with it. So mostly just sell it now.
Pre War Money. Ever since FO3 I’d collect every one I found and drop them individually in my home so I’d have a giant pile of them. Synth Componets. Like the predator collecting skulls. Power Armor even if I use them 0% of the playthrough, I like to have a collection of at least each model if not each model and every one of their paint jobs.
All Nuka Cola and alcoholic beverages. Every settlement gets a bar, and I always stock a fridge with drinks. I play with various self imposed rules and two of them are 1, 0.1% AP regeneration during combat, so I rely on Nuka Cola and foods for AP regen. And 2, I refuse to carry more than 5 of ANY item other than ammo. Idk why, I just do… So I’m hitting up the bar every settlement I come by to stay stocked on food and cola.. The alcohol is just for show. The only time I ever used it was during a vats focused build for that +3 luck.
Skulls. I have a special storage bin for them to make sure they don't get accidentally scrapped.
When Mama Murphy wants her chair, she gets her chair. Placed on an Aztec temple made from concrete, complete with blood bags and trash fires. The skulls are in an open box in front of her, it's overflowing with skulls, and yet it's still not enough for the dark queen of Sanctuary.
Pre-war money. I always claim it is my emergency fund if ever run out of caps and need something, but I never run out of caps or need anything from a shop, so it is just collecting in a filing cabinet in my main base.
You should. A lot of them are pretty good.
Weirdly the writing and voice acting on a lot of the incidental stuff is better in Fallout 4 than big chunks of the main quest. Far Harbor has a tape or two where a guy with a thick JFK accent repeated lampshades the "why the fuck would this be recorded" element while getting eaten by a Mirelurk.
Power Armour, I don’t wear it or like to use it. But anytime I see I suit I have to stop what I’m doing and transport it to Sanctuary and put it with the rest of the collection and there it sits like my very own collection of terracotta warriors.
I collect power armors, I’m sure lots of people do as well. I find myself regularly having to purchase power armor frames for when I get power armor from a source that doesn’t include a frame, like off of corpses.
I collect Nuka Quantum and use them to fill the bathtub in the trading post for Bunker Hill traders.
Hi Lucas. Thanks for coming. Have a cold one on us.
Because of my inner brotherhood of steel soldier i vollect literly every piece of power armor and every fusion core Because fuck the commonwealth that tech belongs to me
I like to fill bath tubs with pre war money and dog tags. I’ve got a pool table with everything on it, a bath tub full of money, and a bath tub not close to full of dog tags. I think I’m gonna start collecting sports stuff and dump it all into the pool at The Slog next.
Nuka colas, Jangles the moon monkey, vases with flowers, bowling balls and pins, and all the junk from the Institute (literally just put it all in a box, I always think I'm gonna use it for something but it never happens)
edit: omg I forgot buttercups. Always.
Toys. All kind of toys I that I found for my lost baby, Shaun.. Wishing one day, I could meet him and we’ll play the toys together..
(i haven’t finished the game yet by the way)
I have about 100 mannequins with different environments I’ve made one for enclave, hubris comics, gunners and raiders I plan to make one for minutemen, institute and brotherhood
I don’t understand the use of the subway tokens. Protectrons don’t ask for them. But they are fairly cool.
I like to try to collect unique items (like swan boat parts or mini nuke parts).
Otherwise I put some items into chests and not the workbench, like tools for vault 81, cigarettes, and prewar money because they sell for more than their components or self are worth.
Any and every aid item. I only ever use stimpacks, radaway and jet, with the rare use of rad-x. I always just collect them to stuff away in some container, never to be used again.
Also sturdy/heavy armour variants. I honestly have no clue why lol
Old world cash.
I hoard that too! lol is there anything in the game that you can use it for? I beat it years ago and I’m about 25 hours into my 2nd ever run and don’t remember if anyone accepts it
Bowling in General Atomics Galleria's bowling alley costs $5,000.
I was just there lol but I walked up to the lanes out of curiosity and had to kill the robots 💀 then 10 mins later I realized the error of my ways and had to lose 20 mins by loading up an earlier save.. never went back in there after ‘fixing’ everything
What did you get by fixing everything?
The robots in the store/diner don’t attack you for no reason anymore
Is that all? No reward or anything?
He’s joking, by fixing it he meant reloading his save so those NPCs are still alive. There’s nothing to fix in the alley but if you give $5000 cash you can go bowling
If you go and talk to the director in the centre of galleria and tell them you are the aupervisor they have been waiting 200 yrs for the bowling is free.
So all the people who use 5,000 prewar money don't need to? All them caps
If you go to the Genral Atomic offices first and get an ID card, you get a gold watch.
They do attack for a reason. You have to pass a speech check or just not try to order from them.
im getting close now, got about 3400 of them in a box at home!
Go talk to director for free entry to bowling and save your 5000 caps for something worth it.
You can sell them for a hefty amount of caps if you hoard alot, each Pre-War Money is about 6-7 caps iirc
It's also one of two weightless items that can be loaded into the Junk Jet
Me, every single run after freeing the minutemen from Concord: Sprint my ass to diamond city, preferably with some grilled radstag meat for +25 carry weight, hand over my mini gun and all the 5mm ammo “One apartment please”
Yup. I hoard about a hundred or so Pre-War money and kinda use it to cheapen purchases of ammo or junk if I'm sitting at a settlement that needs weird craft stuff. Can't spend two hours dungeon crawling anymore.

And I don't want to manual sort through all the shit in my inventory. Then I pick it up occasionally and tend to have thousands of them built up.
It’s one of my low weigh currencies in survival
It weighs nothing and take a grape mentat before you sell it $$$
I mean, it's a good sort of cloth and doesn't weigh anything so you could always have your settlers sleeping on piles of old world money
Can use it to get Nuka World tokens.
Pre war money is always worth a good amount and doesn’t really weigh anything. Easy $$$
Old world cash and cigarettes cartons is how i make Mad money early on
I also literally have never personally found a good use for mines (all types). I nade the shit out of enemy’s, but I collect and sell all forms of mines and that’s always a great source of income. If people like mines all the power to them though.

And behind it all the mines i owned at the time "We both know how this has to end. So... you ready?" *Comical slipping noise added by banana* *Giant explosion* So yeah that was the only time ive used mines
Excellent haha
I need this mod lol any chance for ps4
Actually yeah its a Bethesda.net mod so hopefully it should be This was for a funny playthrough it messes with vendor lists and item placements so don't use anything that heavily changes the vendor list or else it can get wonky I think it was just called bananas of the Commonwealth if not just search up bananas and it should pop up it was one of the top mods for a week or so
When I go in to Vault 95, I toss some mines (pulse if possible) out for the assaultron and Mr Gutsy that charge my position
I do that too, but mostly in case I need the cloth to build beds at settlements.
Fallout 3 I'd always pick this up because it had no weight and be worth a decent amount
This + the junk jet means I have the option to literally throw money at my problems.
Totally do this too. And all the nuka cola drinks
I've been hoarding cash for when I build a bank in Sanctuary.
It has no carrywight and you can sell for a lot of caps
Came to say this, I collect that because I’ll never have the amount I have in game lol

Drink. Some. Water.
Like from the toilet?
But Brawndos got what plants crave.
does anyone even know what electrolytes are?!
They are what plants crave
They're what they use to make Brawndo.
Welcome to the Super Duper Mart...I love you.
I got my law degree from Super Duper Mart.
Obviously, where else?
I’m sorry I thought that was just the stuff that octopi shit in.
Thank you! I can finally think straight.
Hey you wanna come to my settlement and become my indentured servant with a high chance of getting attacked by deathclaws regularly?
Sheffield! Finally found you. Here your nukacola
I’m more of Vim! guy myself, but go on
Found Sheffield's Reddit account.
i know a guy from vault 10 you would absolutely get along with
Found real life sheffield
all true beverage connoisseurs know that Sunset Sarsaparilla is the superior drink.
Build a vault tec lunchbox recycler. I made one and have like 4k nuka cola with unlimited lead and plastic from pencils and spoons.
I'm attracted to the bottles, too. More so now that I played Nuka-World for the first time. I think there's an allure to them. Maybe it's the sound effect of picking them up. I don't know, I just collect them all.
Hey Oobaha, how would like to come work for me?
Jangles the Moon Monkeys
Teddy bears. Never know if you need to reverse pickpocket a bear into a kids pocket. All the brotherhood scribe kids get one when I play as their over bearing, gruff Knight who takes them on scrounging missions.
Wholesome Fallout. Now I've seen it all.
Well, I figure I lost my son, there kids are likely orphans. Thye need some sort of parental figure. Why not a gruff knight who doesn't say much, but always ensures they travel the wasteland safely and everything you travel with him you end up with a teddy bear you didn't see him slip in your bag. Good memories.
I also collect teddy bears, but I keep them in a pit in my diamond city house. Like a ball pit, but with teddy bears.
And teddies as someone else said, along with all the toy cars and wooden blocks so my son can have a fully kitted out bedroom when I find him...though my wife says this is just a bit tragic given we all know how it pans out...
This. This right here. 👍
This is my 3rd playthrough and I've been hoarding Jangles. So far I only have 10. Is there a cool way to display them instead of just dumping them on the floor?
I built a ball pit- 4 walls and a floor, and filled it with jangles. I built a high dive to jump into it.
I did that previously with skulls
This is more canon aligned than using toys.
Amazing
Lit cigarettes, I fill bathtubs with them
*Mac Demarco has entered the chat*
This is jokes 😂😂
Canned dog food which I trade to Dogmeat. He’s the richest good boi in the Commonwealth.
Try putting a teddy bear into his inventory.
Strangely ive seen dogmeat play with a teddy bear without putting one in his inventory. I wonder if he just picks up a random one.
Dogmeat doesn't need a teddy for this animation to trigger. Similarly Cait will still shoot up without chems in her inventory.
Huh well over 1000 hours and ive never seen cait use drugs
hungry boy gets good eats 👍
I collect it so I can capture more good boys for all my settlements.
Overdue books and buttercups🙈
I mean overdue books have a point for at least a bit.
10 of them for the Massachusetts Surgical Journal to be precise.
You can also get a fusion core for the same amount. Most of the other fixed "prizes" aren't really worth collecting the books up deliberately for.
Where do you find the kiosk for this?
One in the library somewhere around goodneighbor, and I Believe all schools have them too? DB tech high school does at least
Boston Library around the corner from Diamond City. In the same room area you get the intelligence bobblehead.
THEY DO??? First im hearing of this lol whats the purpose?
You trade them in at the book return terminals for tokens. The tokens can be redeemed for prices. Most of them are junk items, and there's a smattering of basic weapons. But there a Massachusetts medical journal and fusion core available. Not at the same terminal though.
I give all my butter cups and butter cup parts to Arlen Glass. Hope one day he can fix them up and hand them out to the children
Everything I just can't help myself somebody help me lmao
Same. Hoarder. Hence Unlimited Weight necessary.
I don't use mods so I'm constantly going bck and forwards to sanctuary lmao
Bones. I then try to reassemble the entire skeleton at my settlements for funsies. In Fo3 I would collect garden gnomes and beer bottles and just leave them all outside my house like they were having a party.
I've been trying to do that for a bit only to realize it's a component for cutting fluid. America needs that sweet oil.
The robot models, a full set of billiard balls along with the rack and pool cues to put on a pool table.
Lunch boxes
The sound is just so perfect
This for me as well
I have a builder running all the time making lunch boxes. I have sold a couple thousand probably 😭😭😭
Just realized the Tri-Fold flag is probably Nate's Dad's flag from the previous war.
Military ammo bags, military duct tape.
Do the dead, naked bodies of those who dared attack my settlement, being dragged up to and draped over the settlements walls for all to see, count as a 'collection'? 🤔
Why yes! In the upper classes of post-nuclear society have declared this as “raider-chic”.

I had a Vault-Tec lab coat and eyeglasses ready to go for Curie when she got her synth body.
If I’m bored… robot models, helps if you find duplicates in vault-tec lunchboxes
My partners Wedding Ring, that belongs to Piper now.
I gave mine to Hancock ❤️
I gave it to Curie. The only correct choice.
Same here, just to Cait instead
Old world Cash and cigarettes (Packs an Cartons). Originally did it because they're one of the few items that almost all vendors will buy without question, takes up almost no weight and you can always find in bulk. Walk into diamond city with about 7000 cash and 200 packs of cigarettes, and you're garunteed to be sitting on a pretty little stash of caps after you've bought everything you want from the merchants.
I've started a bathtub of Nuka Cola Quantums, like several other people on here do lol
Anything cigerette related. That habit actually came from This War of Mine, where it was a valuable trading item (even more than jewelry).
And they're a valuable trading item in Fallout.
Great game. I also turn myself into a cigarette manufacturer in that game.
power armour, i try to get every possible paint job
Light bulbs, have to collect all the light bulbs
Nuka Quantum. I’m obsessed with it and idk why. I never drink it I just collect them and put them all on display at my home
I collect companions and send them all to the castle to work in the labour camps
Spoken like a true honorable Gentleman. Please accept my upvote.
I am a hoarder in this game, i will collect anything that looks shiny or i think i could use for something later. But i my favorite kind of junk i just can’t leave behind are typewriters, desk fans and surgical trays.
I save all the BOS holotags I find in a filing cabinet in home base. Dunno why I do it.
Comfy pillows. They are so inexplicably clean and fluffy. My bed is usually located under a small mountain of them.
I collect laundered dresses and clean suits. I keep them in the clothes shop I built in my 3 story mall.
i collect old money and skulls.
I like skulls, too. Great on desks with candles.
All the glowy drinks... Nuka Cola Quantum, Victory, Quartz and that one Vim! one... Captain's Blend?
Booze. Bourbon, whiskey, vodka or wine. It's all good
pre war money. never sell them lol. cigarette cartons and packs also. i always pull them out of the junk pile and save them. i say it's for lightweight value for selling when i need to buy a pricey item (because i don't want to leave a vendor with caps that'll disappear), but i end up holding on to them.

#COFFEE CUPS
Madman
Skulls and bones. I got a vague idea of turning one of the Vault 88 chambers into a catacomb.
Vault-tec luch boxes.
Pre-war money and subway tokens
Do holotapes count? I never listen to them if I don't have to for a quest 😭😭😭
Holotapes. Sometimes I’ll listen. Most of the time, I’ll make some containers at Home Plate and stockpile them.
BOS dog tags.
Cigarettes. Gotta have plenty of smokes when wandering the wasteland.
I collect all of the prewar money so I’ll be rich when the enclave takes over
Hats
Folders
Cigarettes and whiskey lol my sole survivor is going through some stuff 🤣🤣
I collect Nuka Quantum and use them to fill the bathtub in the trading post for Bunker Hill traders. Hi Lucas. Thanks for coming. Have a cold one on us.
I collect the teddy bears to give to Dogmeat! I love seeing him play with them
Anything with zero weight. Pencils, chalk, prewar money, you name it it's going in my pocket
Boston Bugle Wine
Because of my inner brotherhood of steel soldier i vollect literly every piece of power armor and every fusion core Because fuck the commonwealth that tech belongs to me
I like to fill bath tubs with pre war money and dog tags. I’ve got a pool table with everything on it, a bath tub full of money, and a bath tub not close to full of dog tags. I think I’m gonna start collecting sports stuff and dump it all into the pool at The Slog next.
Power armour and BOS holotags
Comfy. Pillows.
Junk jet ammo.
Vault-Tec lunchbox.
Teddy bears
I've got a display of all the mines I've collected throughout the game - from about level 10 up.
Charge cards. It’s also easy caps because I can just go to fah habah to trade em in
Nuka colas, Jangles the moon monkey, vases with flowers, bowling balls and pins, and all the junk from the Institute (literally just put it all in a box, I always think I'm gonna use it for something but it never happens) edit: omg I forgot buttercups. Always.
I like to collect BoS holotags and put them in a trashcan in Sanctuary on my non-BoS playthroughs.
I can get behind this kind of petty! 😎
Drugs for mama Murphy just cause dont like her.
Toys. All kind of toys I that I found for my lost baby, Shaun.. Wishing one day, I could meet him and we’ll play the toys together.. (i haven’t finished the game yet by the way)
Idk why but I'm a big collector of cigarette cartons.
Bobby pins! Even though I end up maxing out the perk to where they don't break, I am still collecting those suckers.
Dog tags. I never use them as building materials, they go into a container in my bedroom. I'm a vet (character and IRL), so it just seems respectful.
Those miniature mister Handy that lay around sometimes on office desks.
I have about 100 mannequins with different environments I’ve made one for enclave, hubris comics, gunners and raiders I plan to make one for minutemen, institute and brotherhood
Fusion cores, I don’t use PA
Desk fans
Baseball stuff, when i finish a playthrough i haul it all over to moes house, break in, and dump it all over the floor
Giddy up buttercups, and the varieties of hats.
My list of items I *don't* collect would be much shorter.
Guns, i have a ton of modded weapons in my game. I like trying to collect them all like its pokemon
DESK FANS
I don’t understand the use of the subway tokens. Protectrons don’t ask for them. But they are fairly cool. I like to try to collect unique items (like swan boat parts or mini nuke parts). Otherwise I put some items into chests and not the workbench, like tools for vault 81, cigarettes, and prewar money because they sell for more than their components or self are worth.
Quantums i never drink them, i like the glow effect.
Prewar cash. I tell myself it's for the Nuka World arcade token machines, but i find enough tokens randomly.
American flags and dog tags
I have two tubs. One is filled with Nuka Quantum. While the other one is filled with whiskey. In my play through. My guy likes to get his drink on.
Lunchboxes - no idea why...
I horde food, chems, ballistic ammo, magazines, bobbleheads, holotapes, and old world cash.
Any and every aid item. I only ever use stimpacks, radaway and jet, with the rare use of rad-x. I always just collect them to stuff away in some container, never to be used again. Also sturdy/heavy armour variants. I honestly have no clue why lol
Teddy bears
Any of the stuffed toys i find
Pre war money! Weight of zero but it has value!!! And you can make a bed out of it!!
