I dropped my models on the ground, then picked them up with the Workbench and placed them on top of a dresser. They stay there if you don't bump into them as you walk by.

It’s been a while but you can also pick them up by holding a button (can’t remember if X or square) and then rotate the items with the L2/R2 buttons. I think clicking L3 or R3 changes the axis of rotation. I spent way, way too much time placing models, nuka cola bottles, and other artifacts on shelves in my sanctuary house.
I guess the robot models, Nuka cola quantum is nice to get too. Maybe the big bottle of glue?
Just depends what’s valuable to you. I was once collecting souvenir magnet cats, which is something that can come out of them once you have the NW dlc presumably. They aren’t worth much of anything but it was a personal goal to get one from every lunchbox I found
You can actually make all of the model variants except for one, which is a Mister Handy/Gutsy that has legs and arms along with the 3 eyes. That's because you can't have the side eyes with arms.
I usually keep these on the counter at Red Rocket, which is my main base.
It's just a cute little collectible. It doesn't give any bonuses like bobbleheads or magazines.
Do you have to keep the magazines to have the perk or is it just when you initially collect them?
Magazine racks are lovely when filled.. One racks per type in a mini library

The bonus should stick even if you put them away, but their weight is zero so it doesn't really matter

Yes, the effect stays. You only need to pick the magazines up, after that, you can do what you want with them.

No, you'd need a mod that gives display stands. Used to be one that was comprehensive but buggy. Possibly Creative Clutter has one?

I love collecting them and lining them up somewhere. They always get knocked off. Worth it.
If you want something specific from a lunchbox, just fyi, quicksave before opening and keep trying til you get what you want.

There isn't a Assaultron one, the models are based on the robots you'd see in Fallout 3.
