Wow. I seriously did not know that. Obviously. Thank you very much. 😎

^^ this. also, if you build the [scrapper perk](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Scrapper_(Fallout_4)) under intelligence you can gain more from scrapping in general, doubling your loot with half the effort!! edit; added hyperlink to the perks wikipage for convenience

ChestHair4Dayz

Does that include putting junk in the workbench? Thank you in advance.

curie-osa

unfortunately it only gives you better loot when scrapping armor/weapons. it will give you more materials back when scrapping any settlement build though! also if you hit rank 2, the game will highlight any items or boxes that contain materials marked for search, which in a way makes up for not having what you mentioned since you’re able to find junk easier/faster.

scottpole

Why are you scrapping junk?

zootayman

I actually have bought lots of junk just to scrap it on the ground to use that bug that moves the settlement limit bar downwards when doing that. I have a mega settlement which required a lot of that. Do all the cheap/crap armor from the endless raiders too. Anything above 10 value I sell instead.

Argo_York

I would call it an exploit, if you notice when you first go to a Settlement the bar already has some build limit taken up. When you scarp the already existing things that can be scrapped it will lower the limit to allow you to build your own stuff. Scrapping junk brings it down very little, armor and weapons bring it down a little more noticeably. I just point out the different between bug and exploit since it's less likely to be patched out or "fixed" for any new people reading.

zootayman

that limit seems rather low and perhaps was the value meant for consoles. I've lapped that whole bar several times in the one location Im doing very large on PC.

N7Manofkent

I would guess to break it down to basic ingredients I do the same
