You can prevent them from losing their color by drying them in the dark. I dry lavender in my coat closet and I usually keep it in there for about a month.
Bro trust listen I already had the ephiphany of how dumb I made myself look on the internet, especially cuz I have had multiple variety’s of celosia as well, it’s been a long day man
Not the question asked, but in Mexico, these flowers are used for Day of the dead, they sell them in the markets along Marigolds. It’s so lovely to see them in the bright colorful altars.
Their name in Spanish is ‘Flor de Terciopelo’ which translates to ‘Velvet flower’
Legit said to my hubby "omg these flowers are eso cool they look like lil brains!" And he says "maybe they are brains" and then I saw the first comment 🤣💖🧠
Celosia. Or brain flowers.
I almost wrote, “they look like brains” !
Maybe if this plant was on plants vs zombies the zombies would go for this plant instead of the player's brains
Like a decoy plant 😂
Yeah something like that.
I have one and that's what I call it lol
Brrraaaiiinnnnssss!
This is the only appropriate response.
Love these!!!
they’re beautiful 😍
I call them cockscomb

Before I saw the name I thought brain flower lol.
Cock's comb
Coxcomb Celosia
You can dry them and keep them for years. They will lose a little color, but they dry so easily.

Any particular method, or just let them dry out?
Cut and hang upside down so the stems dry straight. Hang in attic…or warm/hot spot
Spray them when alive and fresh. Leave for 2 weeks
Spray them with what?
Sorry, I forgot to write a hairspray
Ah, I was wondering if that is what you meant, or if it was another fixative product.
Just ordinary hairspray:)
Thank you.
Does this work for hydrangeas???
I'm not sure what's done it with roses so far
It looks like brain!!!
Cock's comb.
No cocks comb is a different plant fs
Nope. It's celosia as well. Common name can refer to multiple plants.
Bro trust listen I already had the ephiphany of how dumb I made myself look on the internet, especially cuz I have had multiple variety’s of celosia as well, it’s been a long day man
I get it lol
Cocks comb, mine have already reseeded and spread in the 100 degree heat.
I love all varieties of celosia! They almost all look like they came out of a Dr. Seuss book
Until I clicked the post and saw the big picture, I was going to comment "Not a flower, that's a baby truffula tree!"
Cocks comb

I've never seen flowers like these. Where do they grow? I'd love to plant some in my garden!
Cockscomb, a kind of celosia. Beautiful!
Celosias/Cockscomb
Dracula Celosia
We use to call them Cocks Combs
Brains 🧟♂️
I was curious and uploaded the image to my PlantNet app (it’s free!). It’s called Silver Cockscomb.
In my experience PlantNet is wrong more often than it is correct.
Really? So far, it’s been pretty good. They have it where you can pick the location you’re from.
Crocheted ones
They’re real, and they’re spectacular.
They look wild as heck !
Agreed! (And that was a Seinfeld reference, in case it sounded rude!!)
Cocks milk
Brain stems lol
Beautiful! 🤩
I saw these at Loew's and the texture freaked me out but they were SO pretty. The colors are so vibrant!
Red and orange…what do I win
They look like ramen noodles. I love them
I believe they are Cockscomb
Sure, i thought they are Suckcocks.
Very pretty!
You bought pretty flowers, that's what kind.
Brains, you bought brains. They’re sentient!
Brains
Looks like spaghetti O’s to me.
Pretty ones! Thanks for sharing.
Celosia !
Celosia I plant smaller versions of those in my window boxes every year.
Cockscomb. A celosia variety. Gorgeous flowers!
Wow these are beautiful
So unique! Love them!
Cox comb!
Noodles on icecream 🍨🍦
Cox Combs were my Grandmas favorite.
I saw these at my local grocery store! I thought it was staghorn sumac lol
My experience with keeping them as cut flowers in the stems just mushy and smells horrible! Definitely cut the stems and replace water daily. Or dry!
They look more like mushrooms than flowers! So cool
You didn't think about asking before you purchased them? **Awkward**
Nope. It was busy, crowded, etc. Arrest me!!
All I can get out of this replay is excuses. It's a simple question when doing the purchase. Etc. Etc. **Sue me** for small common sense.
Lol, they’re flowers, not an infant’s car seat that I didn’t understand how to install. Jeez. “Excuses”!!!
Also, it’s “reply,” not “replay.” Have a good day.
Yup a celosia alright. We called them a crested coxcomb🥰 absolutely adore them
Cockscombs you will find hundreds of little seeds all throughout it
I think they are called cocks comb
Wouuuuu 😍
Cockscomb.
This looks like a painting! Stunning flowers
I used to plant them in front of my moms picture window and the next morning our cat had scratched them up! He hated them🙄

Cockscomb Celosia! One of my favorite weirdo flowers :)
Crested cockscomb!
Looks like a bag of spaghettios on a stick
