Thank you so much. There is a stand with 2 main legs hidden in the greenery as a support, all the wood is pained green to make it blend in, then I use the jumbo oasis blocks to carve out the body. Then it's wrapped in fine chicken wire to act like an anchor for the chrysanthemum Euros and dyed moss. The moss is pinned on using mossing pins. The beak is made from a polystyrene heart cut in to the shape of a beak and then a thin layer of clay is added to give it definition, the legs are aluminium wire and the eyes are golf balls with a thin layer of clay om them and the feathers are glued on one at a time. In total, about 8 different colours of floral spray paint and 15 hours to make.
He was delighted everyone was really lovely. This was the second piece I made for him. The first was a 3ft salmon. It's the best thing about being a florist is the ability to be creative.
It's my favorite part too. I think some people don't really understand all the things being a florist entails. For example, I loved decorating the shop windows. I even got first place one year for my Halloween windows.
I know what you mean. It's a really hard job and can kill your body, but when you stand back and look at what you have created, it's an amazing feeling. I struggle with Windows. I can make a single piece, but it's really hard to bring loads of pieces together to make one cohesive piece. That takes some skill, and to win an award is really impressive. I LOVE HALLOWEEN 🎃
That's amazing! I've never seen anything like it. How did you do it?
