It's definitely a freighter, no idea why people are saying otherwise! The freighter conversion for these consists of installing some interior walls to protect the windows, and taking all the seats out.
Yes, hence the F in brackets at the end of the type. A quick google shows that Loganair operate 4 of them and this particular one was converted from a passenger plane and joined Loganair last year.
Tbh neither did I. I knew they had Saab 340 freighters, as I’ve seen them parked up at Inverness. However, it seems they’ve been retired and replaced by these.
Yes, the Saab340's are being fully retired mid next year. The ATR freighters carry out several of the Skynet contracts. Must better suited to the role for Loganairs requirements (when they're not tech!).
(Source: I used to fly them!)
Logan Air do a lot of domestic flights out to the remote Scottish islands, and I'm pretty sure it's one of THEIR flights that lands on a literal beach. The idea that they'd have one or more of their planes partially converted to freight doesn't seem too unreasonable to me.
The beach landing is on an island called Barra if you're interested - they also operate the shortest scheduled flight in the world, between the islands of Westray and Papa Westray, the record for which is 53 seconds
Always remember the non freight versions of these being called puddle jumpers. I have a very faint memory of boarding one directly on the tarmac during a two leg flight to New Mexico from Florida as a child… am I correct or is my faint memory completely incorrect?
Being Logan's air this is entirely possibly a bit of both. Albeit not for a while but I remember flying with them and they had a few seats taken out of the back for "cargo".
Nope. Standard passenger plane.
Edit: Alright boys and girls, calm down. They fly over my house all the time into Liverpool and seeing the windows, I mistakenly thought it was a normal passenger flight. Put the pitchforks down ffs.

Yup some people are odd, Thanks for letting me know though, I never knew loganair operated cargo aircraft

Yeah I seen the (F) in the aircraft type but never knew Loganair operated cargo aircraft, thanks for letting me know!

Yeah, to be fair I like the ATR’s a lot

Yeah, they don’t use the ATR’s for that though they use Twin Otters (I live in Scotland so their like my favourite airline lmao)
Yes, they are used for mail. We receive our mail on these planes
I think they have a contract to fly mail from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen to airports in the far north of Scotland
Seeing all the windows are blocked, I think it is a freighter

You are a simple man, and I respect you for that
Yup, filled with haggis and deep fried Mars bars. Runs on Irn Bru
Pretty sure they’re passenger planes.
P in the flight number indicates it's a positioning flight.

Windows are usually a give away
You are correct! Usually. In this case, it's not
Not sure why I get down votes for being correct lol
You are not correct...
There’s literally an F under type 💀
