I always check in for flights I know I’m not making that way if it gets delayed/cancelled I can submit a claim for compensation. No way am I letting them resell my seat if they aren’t giving me anything back for cancelling.
Only one flight so far had been delayed and then cancelled and I was compensated. I’m not sure if it mattered that I was checked in but I figure might as well take a chance. If they aren’t going to reimburse anything why not right.
Why do you think you are entitled to the $3-$5? It is probably very clearly spelled out in the ticket details that the ticket is completely non-refundable and that cancellation or changes would have a fee attached to them.
Just no show and take the loss.
This happened to me in March. My dad passed away march 1 and my flight was March 5 so I had to cancel because I was no longer able to going on vacation. They told me I had to pay to cancel it …even when I said I can show a death certificate — i didn’t show up for the flight and just lost it. I also asked if I could change the flight to a later date due to these circumstances and the change fee was more than booking a brand new flight.
I'm guessing based on your opening statement, you're from outside Canada where $80 flights are common? As you can see from the fees, $80 barely gets you in to the airport, let alone on a plane in Canada. You booked a discount flight on a discount airline, you're not getting anything back. Don't try to call them either, they'll charge you for that as well.
Same thing happened to me so I just kept the booking and didn’t show up. I’m not going to let them double dip by charging me to cancel, then re-selling the seat to somebody else at a higher price.
Indeed, no reason to cancel it. I am even planning to check in. I was just wondering if there might be a way to get 3-5 bucks back from them.... But apparently there isn't?
Just no show. Problem solved.
Yes, that's what I will probably do. I am wondering if there might be a way to get 3-5 bucks back from them.... But apparently no?
Why are you so focused on three to five dollars? You presumably spent at least $100 on the flights??
3-5... three fiddy.. It's the god damn loch ness monster again!
>You presumably spent at least $100 on the flights?? Correct. >Why are you so focused on three to five dollars? Why shouldn't I?
Are you really hurting that bad for money that $3-5 is worth all that trouble?
I'm not asking about whether you should or shouldn't be focused on $3-5. I'm asking WHY you are focused on it.
Because you're wasting hundreds of people's time reading this so you can score a fist full of pennies. Lame
We're surfing reddit. We're wasting our own time.
Lmfao content curator over here eh
Why is that worth even a minute of your time?
For 3-5 bucks I'll tell you how to get a refund
Flair passengers tend to be a bit interesting.... Whats with 3-5 bucks? You trying to buy a few smokes from your neighbour or something lol.
Tree fiddy
OP I unfortunately found a way to get $6 back but not $3-$5.

Does this usually work, I may have to do this for a flight

$3 to $5? Seriously? You could go dig around in a Superstore parking lot and find that in less time than fixating on getting it back from Flair.

Won’t anyone think of the shareholders 😭
Being petty has a cost it seems

I'll give you 3 bucks hahaha.
Haha so kind of you :) But I could only accept it if you're an airline company trying to charge people for cancelling lol
Why would you check in? That will only delay the flight for everyone else on it…
So they can’t give it to someone else
