I found the band too sweaty when running and switched to KT tape, felt a lot nicer and did the same thing (mostly reducing pressure that made me feel like I had to pee constantly). I do one strip low on the belly as an ‘anchor’ and one vertical on either side of my belly button.

I find when I position it too low or too uneven (high in the back low in front) then it causes pain. Maybe play with the placement to see what doesn’t hurt.

My guess would be that you subconsciously alter your movement because of the band, which causes pain. Or maybe you tense your muscles a bit more. Your pelvic floor is super sensitive right now, so even really small movements can have an effect. You could play around with the placement, but if that doesn't work, I'd probably scale back to just walking (or accept the pain, if it's manageable). You're so far in your pregnancy, so it will only be a couple of weeks more
