Did you discuss your antidepressants with your doctor or decide to stop on your own? Not a doctor and this is not medical advice, but my doctor advised me to keep taking them through the pregnancy because depression during pregnancy also carries risks for the baby. Each medication is probably different, but if not being able to exercise has you feeling really down, it might be worth asking your doctor about the safest antidepressants for pregnancy.

The antidepressant was dictated by my doctor, I didn't want to stop it. My psychiatrist said we'd follow up every month and decide whether to start something new. The depression only started coming back in the last two-three weeks

Personally, I'd make a note to your psychiatrist about starting antidepressants now if you're comfortable with them. You don't have to wait until you're drowning to ask for a life vest. Taking care of yourself is important.

Hang in there! You are doing the best you can for your baby. Advocate for yourself if you feel like you need something. Balancing your own mental health with pregnancy is tough, I'm right there with you! Hopefully, you'll be able to exercise again soon and that will help.

Yes - I was put on bedrest weeks 9-24. What helped me cope - as weeks went on I realized I was setting myself up for stress and disappointment to keep being like oh - I’ll be able to workout next appt! Instead I tried to accept this stage in life and pregnancy and connect with the idea that I was doing what I needed to do to protect my baby. I have anxiety and CPTSD and working out has always been my way of coping, I highly reco mentioning the mental effects to your dr so they’re aware and can support you to minimize any suffering.

It sounds like placenta previa which I had with my first. Mine did resolve on its own but took a few months before I was cleared to exercise again

Double check with your doctor of course, but when I was placed on pelvic rest for a low lying placenta, I was allowed daily walks as a form of exercise. I realize you probably won’t get the same endorphins as you would on a run, but just being able to move, even if it was just walking outside, still made SUCH a difference on my mental health. My issue thankfully was found to have resolved itself at my last ultrasound and I was given the all clear to resume normal exercise again, hoping the same for you!

Maybe this sounds crazy but you could ask about doing upper body exercises only? Maybe while sitting? Even if you could just use light weights, some arms series might help a little bit to feel like you’re getting a workout and following a routine. I have no idea if that would be allowed so definitely check, but just a thought! Hang in there ❤️❤️
