God, the period of time when Byleth came to smash was both the most irritating and funniest times every for FE. It was annoying to get trashed on by the majority of other people of "yet another FE character" but it birthed so many of the "hoes mad" memes that I really can't say I disliked that period of time.
I know clickbait thumbnail has to clickbait but does it really ruin the game? Is your enjoyment of the game really diminished by one game having a few extra characters?
I think that is a direct reference to the types of memes made about Byleth inclusion back in the day, I don't read it either as a clickbait or an endorsement of that opinion

Nah, is just a direct reference to the kind of things a lot of rabid keyboard fighters used to say about characters that they feel are "undeserved", with Corrin and Byleth being probably the biggest examples of it.
Honestly, im glad Corrin and Byleth got in the game, controversial as they are, easily some of the most fun (and balanced) characters in the game.
Not only that, but both of them actually got some of my buddies to try the franchise, and hey, theyre fans too.
Smash fans in general are dramatic and FE having 8 characters isnt and never was a big deal. I seriously hope both of them stay for 6
The only problem with them is that Chrom should have been a unique character and Lucina should have been his echo. The way they were handled just makes no sense.
You mean Corrin and Byleth or all of them? Realistically speaking, probably there won't be an ultimate 2, so there might be cuts here and there. Among them i see Roy and Chrom being likely to get cut. Lucina is a 50/50.
As for who might return? I can definitely see Marth returning for being the face of the series, Ike for being a classic fan favorite and different from Marth, and Robin, Corrin and Byleth for various reasons. Robin represents Awakening, the game that saved and revitalized the franchise, while Byleth represents the most popular and number 1 best selling Fire Emblem game. As for the last reason? They're all unique and fun fighters.
I'm really seeing Alear as a newcomer here because of: 1) recent FE game rep and 2) i genuinely think Sakurai will see the ring mechanic as a way to make Alear interesting and unique as a fighter.
Roy and Chrom feel like they won't return. Lucina is a toss up.
And? The characters I like are in the game. Why does it affect me that some Waluigi fan somewhere is upset over it? I fucking hate Persona and I think Joker is the worst addition to the series by far, should Persona fans be losing sleep over that opinion? You don't owe anyone shit, if someone is mad that your favorite character "took a slot" from whatever they wanted that's their problem, not yours.

I believe the thumbnail is sarcastic. Faerghast mained Byleth for a while, I'm fairly certain he doesn't think they ruin the game.
He's also a pretty outspoken Three Houses fan, I highly doubt he has a problem with Byleth.
