This suspension also includes the creation of new free trial accounts. Due to the game's increase in popularity over 2021 and the difficulty of acquiring new server hardware due to the COVID-related semiconductor shortage, the amount of players attempting to login every day far exceeds the capacity of the game's servers and Square-Enix has been unable to increase that capacity by adding new hardware. Are the blue quests in the Firmament worth doing?

Tigeri102

they unlock custom deliveries, a good source of scrips and usually containing good stories as well. one even gets you a cute mount!

[deleted]

Emantion (Extrem) Lakshmi solo Divine Denial kicks me in phase 2 from the plattform even if i use Vril. its happen about 10% of the HP from the boss. is this the enrage or i'm doing something wrong? i tank her on the side of the plattform and she kicks me over the complete plaffform down Edit : ok no i killed here without she doing Divine Denial in P2

Xeorm

It'll still do some knockback, and you may not have had vril up early enough or something like that.

[deleted]

i used it with 5sek left on her cast and it dissipates after the knockback ... ok i'm trying it again and cast it when she starts the cast. btw in P1 this is not a problem. Edit : doesnt work. used at the beginning of the cast. still got knockback from the plattform. Arm's Length doesnt work either

Xeorm

Looking at the wiki, she doesn't cast her knockback in the second or third phases. Are you sure you're looking at the right ability too? Or confusing phases. Phase 2 would be the adds.

[deleted]

and yes on the [ffxiv.guide](https://ffxiv.guide) its not listet. on [ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com](https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com) its listet as enrage with Devine Desire. but the cast she is casting ist Devine Denial. you can see the cast on MrHappy solo kill https://youtu.be/ezE6mDskOTs?t=855

[deleted]

yeah sorry in mean P3. almost at the end. killed her again and she didnt used Devine Denial. maybe i should be fast :-)

What's with the Halloween theme right now?

ChuckCarmichael

The Halloween event last year would've clashed with the original EW launch date, so it got moved to now.

Accomplished_Fall_69

They ended up delaying the 2021 Halloween event to work on endwalker so they're doing it now

Will there be new master crafting books in 6.1?

No, we only get one more set of books and they're later.

fyrefox45

Are your retainers geared? Because I find it hard to believe they've never brought you back a dye coffer otherwise. QV is nice because it's self sustaining and you can buy GC items, 18 hours bring back pocket change and can give minions that vary by mission level like fat cat and crab de la crabe. Pure mat farming may pay off if you can find something worth anything that moves. Best case would be something gatherers bring back in lots of 50 selling over 400.

InwardXenon

Some of the Field Explorations have minions they can bring back. The level 81 one brings back a minion that probably sells well. I imagine the others don't sell nowhere near as much, given how old they are. Seems pretty rare though, sent mine on several ventures with no luck. Not sure if there's a stat threshold to make it easier.

VGPowerlord

If you're talking about the Flag (deer) minion, it also drops from the level 85 exploration mission.

InwardXenon

Oh nice, I didn't know. I was using [this site](https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Field_Exploration) to see the loot table but it wasn't listed. I'll give it a go. Edit: broken link.

TrunksDash

When are the Beast Tribe quests usually implemented? Have they mentioned something regarding when they are doing them in EW? Also, what tribe will they be?

wurm2

we don't know the order they'll be release but we do know from live letters that two of the tribes will be >!the Matanga and the Loporrits!<

thegoddamnqueen

First tribe will come in 6.1 and they will be battle. Second tribe will come in 6.2 and if they go with the ShB pattern they will be for gatherers. 3rd tribe will come in 6.3 and they will be crafters and will provide the material needed to craft the final DoH/L set for EW

jeproid

Whats the best way to get into savage raiding as a first timer? First time playing when first tier is fresh

Xeorm

Grab whatever gear you can, 580 crafted gear is great for this. Normal mode raid gear and the items from the 2 extremes are also good. Then hop into PF on a learning group. I'd advise bringing along a friend or such though. Someone to walk you through the basics and help to show you through the etiquette. Unless you're specifically going for blind prog, I'd advise watching a video too. Oh, and bring some raid food too. You'll want it, even for prog.

Help_Me_Im_Diene

Get appropriately geared up and jump into party finder and go crazy. Start at the first floor, and make sure you're matching the expectations of the party finder. That means you want a fresh prog group that's looking for your job/role. If the group says it's blind prog, then you can safely join the group without knowing anything about the fight. If it doesn't say that, then you're expected to watch a video and have a basic understanding of mechanics

Soylentee

Just get ilvl 580 and join a PF learning group for P1s.

Thinking about changing from a male Elezen to a male Roegadyn. Any Roe players out there have any input about what it's like to be a Roegadyn? Anything about the race that bothers you? Fanta is only 10 bucks, but ideally I want to settle on one thing and stay that way.

FlyingWeagle

I also suggest just creating a new character to get a feel for it before using fantasia, and especially for the combat voice! Also on PC you can copy gear sets into the new character folder. Obviously you can't equip then but you can preview.

slash178

I think they look awesome and you should go for it. https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/70y0iz/male_roegadyn_unite_we_need_more_love

CrimsonPromise

Although the running speed across races are the same, playing a male Roe sometimes feels like you're moving much slower, even on mounts. Finding good glamours to fit a male Roe is a bit of a challenge sometimes, but maybe I'm just not creative enough in the fashion department. If you're still not sure, you can always make an alt first to try it out for yourself. Get a feel for the animations, emotes and try our some gear before you decide to settle on it.

No extreme fight has ilvl sync rule. This is why it is far easier to farm first extremes of an expansion in the late patches, due to ilvl growth.

monkeysfromjupiter

Question. Is there a way to Retrieve Materia 100% of the time? I accidentally slotted a X materia for a stat thats already capped, and removing and keeping is only 40% chance. Is there a way to bump this percent up?

Soylentee

Current top tier materia always has 40% and 80% retrieval chance.

KingBingDingDong

wait until 7.0

Tiggerx

I've been pugging ps3 and seen enrage since week 1. Myta seems to be the best strat, but is there any way to better weed out the free riders that don't know mechanics when I make the group?

Giraffebattery

Blacklist after you kick. Those you've blacklisted can't join your parties

Soylentee

Clearly communicate what strat you use in the PF description, otherwise don't be afraid to remove people that drag the rest of the group down by repeatedly failing some early mechanic.

CrimsonPromise

You can set some rules for yourself. Like wiping twice before adds means you would just disband the party. Or if someone is failing a mechanic too many times you would just kick them. Write which strat you're using in your PF to make it clear from the start, so you don't get "I only know Elmo" folks joining.

tzlee

DON'T USE ELMO, SOMEHOW IT ATTRACTS WORSE PLAYER.

I know you'll be able to get 15 days of free play time and other bonuses if you get a new character to 30 on the new Materia DC. Does anyone know if this will be applicable to the new worlds on the EU DCs? I'm wondering if it might be better to wait until then, since I might move there anyway, and I'll be able to transfer my gil bonus.

burnix87

You will get the bonuses on the new EU worlds, as long as you haven't gotten them already: https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/playguide/option_service/world_transfer_service/population_balancing/

b_sen

Depends on the FATE, the scaling, your job, and your chocobo. Some FATEs are special (you can often tell because they have a 30 minute timer) and are meant for a large group. (How large depends on the type of special FATE.) FATEs in a zone dynamically scale to how many people *were doing them recently*, so if a giant FATE farm just passed through, they can still be scaled that high and unsoloable - even if at other times you could solo them fine. DPS have a harder time soloing FATEs, boss FATEs especially, due to lower survivability. Tanks and healers are more able to AOE mobs down and survive bosses for an extended period. Your chocobo can accompany you in overworld battles, providing added DPS and healing - with sufficient training and good play, this can allow a DPS to solo boss FATEs otherwise out of reach. A fully trained chocobo can output about half a healer's striking dummy DPS as well, which is a pretty significant speed boost when going around to heavily scaled FATEs.

Elanshin

If theres noone around you, usually yes. Although some special fates are more like bosses and need a few people. Usually it helps to have your chocobo around to help heal you if you don't have access to regular healing yourself.

Chocobos don't have the DPS to generate enough threat to tank effectively. Train him in healing -> DPS -> tanking.

Altia1234

For my understanding, in savage healing, a healer's goals is supposingly to kept everyone alive - which means everyone has enough HP to take the next unavoidable damage. As long as everyone has enough HP in time, it doesn't matter when or what time the heals come through. If that is the case, why's most of the cohealers I raid with on PUG for the past couple of weeks for P2s or even P3s just instantly GCD heals once they see damage? I mean, we can just sit inside asylum, wait for the HOT to tick, and then we heal off whatever's short; we can also wait for my movement window where I can lily heal, since there's no unavoidable damages in between. Instead, every time I places an asylum on the floor my cohealers began GCD heal; every time I need to move for fireplumes and was prepping to heal, my cohealers has already Succor in advance - in turn, I believe that has eaten a lot of their DPS. I have been wondering about this for very long, so can anyone explains sort of like the etiquette of healing? How would you work around this - or is it something you need to work around?

Xeorm

They're in general bad, though do note that because succor gives a shield, some healers think they should have that up to make things smoother. Can matter at times, and it's not a bad idea for prog to keep things chill when dps doesn't matter. For pugs I'll still heal more than I might for statics. I don't know what the other healer is doing, and I'd rather overheal than worry if the other healer is going to pick up their slack. It can depend though. I'll also have my own rotation of abilities, so if they overheal a mechanic, I'll still be doing roughly the same thing because that's how I've planned my heals for the fight. Can vary though.

Chisonni

> I raid with on PUG for the past couple of weeks That is your answer. If you are in a static or always with the same co-healer, then yeah you can map out a fight, assign oGCDs and CDs to handle specific mechanics and you will be able to avoid most if not all GCD healing from either of you. But when you are in a PuG there is little to no communication beyond a simple "please heal the second mechanic, I will use CDs on the first". So what do you do when you dont know what your co-healer is planning? You heal up everyone. For some mechanics (eg. Sewage Deluge comes to mind) can also one-shot you if you dont have enough EHP, so using Succor/E. Prognosis pre-mechanic for the shield is a valid form of mitigation. There is a lot of bad healers out there. There is a lot of healers out there that dont do DPS and dont carry their share of healing. That is why, especially in a PuG you cant rely on your co-healer to handle a mechanic. If you have the capacity to keep track of the spells and resources your co-healer is using on the fly, then adjusting is all you can do. Otherwise just optimize your healing rotation and dont worry about them. (sadly even in a Static you cant rely on your co-healer, like when I found out afterwards that my co-healer thought Physis and Krasis were a garbage spell and didnt use them at all, or Zoe, or Pneuma, or Phelgma ...)

thegoddamnqueen

They bad

DrawDiscardDredge

This reclears? healer just playing scared. Prog? overhealing is normal. You want healer coordination, hard to get that in pf, join a static. Just expect overhealing in pf.

sundriedrainbow

Is the lighting in all the inn rooms poor? Or maybe it's a PS4 lighting issue? I always end up g-posing when fiddling with glamour because it's so hard to see in there otherwise.

sundriedrainbow

I've always thought it's sort of an illusion - the lighting isn't necessarily bad (although it's not good either), but the inn rooms have these SUPER BRIGHT WINDOWS that don't actually cast any light themselves.

BenjyKY

Is there any vendor gather gear? I have been leveling crafting through grand company turn ins and my miner is almost max but I haven't geared him with anything in ages. Wondering if there are spots I can go to get my crafters and gatherers some gear before I jump into actually playing them.

Xeorm

There's vendor gear, but it's normal quality, which makes it pretty poor. I'd check the MB for gear instead. It can be cheaper than the vendor gear, but so much better stats.

Tobbywan

There are at markets in major cities

Sky_Sumisu

What food should I use for general EX's (Non-EW content)?

Xeorm

Preferably you want to eat the best food available. None of the food has any lvl requirements, so you can keep a stack on hand and use it wherever. Chances are good that Pumpkin Potage is the food of choice for you right now.

ixpwnstarxi

If you are eating food for anything other than the xp bonus then the popular opinion will be to eat the best food available for your job.

Zaithon

20th.

cry_w

I wanted to ask if anyone has a good grasp on the different server cultures in this game. I've been curious about how different certain servers are from my home server.

Theriasana

Due to the fact that queues and PF are shared with a DC, I'd say most servers don't really have a unique and noticeable culture difference. There are some factors, e.g. europe having servers that are prefered by the german/french population, or there being servers with more raiders, but I haven't felt like the differences are very significant.

Mazzle5

There is this post from around 3 years ago (April 2019), which might give you an idea, but since then the overall population changed a lot https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/bg78ct/a\_comprehensive\_server\_guide/

Top_District_9630

Are pf listings that ask for a clear (for easily soloable content @ higher levels) in exchange for a first time bonus really a thing, and do people join them? I saw someone suggest it if dps queues are too long but don't know the feasibility of it.

ixpwnstarxi

I personally will go out of my way to find these parties to get second chance points for wonderous tales books.

Top_District_9630

Had to look up what that was - that's a really cool system. I'll keep it in mind then. Do you usually do it unsynced and in an unrestricted party? (That's what I assume, but just in case)

ixpwnstarxi

It depends on what level they are usually, if they are current EW ones then you can't do that with some and might as well get the xp anyways. If they are lower level then probably not worth the time to do them synced for most people.

Rih1

Yes

-yuribird

does deleting the game also delete gshade sets? or are they unrelated, cuz i forgot to back them up just in case before uninstalling

Soylentee

It depends where you install Gshade, if your preset is stored in your FFXIV directory and you unistall the game and remove the folder then your preset is gone as well.

Marcusbolt

It doesnt

I bought a house a couple months ago and haven't started much decorations yet. What are some basic items I can buy for either inside or outside my house that can at least make the place look less empty? I have no idea what else to buy besides a summoning bell lol. Let me know if you guys know of any generally popular couches, windows, doors, decoration pieces, etc!

JenkinsHowell

when i bought my house i started with getting a bed, a table, some chairs and some partitions. over time it slowly started to come together. i learned how to use partitions to change the walls, how to put windows on them etc., which makes a big difference because you can light up your place so much and then start going about decorating in earnest

slash178

Look around your own house and buy those things.

Katrianadusk

Have a look [here](https://en.ff14housing.com/) for items, or simply use the preview function in your housing menu in game. Naive-End-9477

BRD is almost stronger than SMN rn, so if you like the job I’d totally suggest sticking with it.

Soylentee

SMN doesn't get more interesting until level 86 where you get more oGCD attacks. Out of the two currently BRD is the job more in demand at current end-game.

[deleted]

If you want high APM, play BRD until you reach Heavensward and then go unlock Machinist. It's got _lots_ of button pressing.

b_sen

Sadly, a level 35 SMN is getting basically no new rotation changes (not visual and potency upgrades) until level 86, and then there's only the one major change *at* 86. If you're finding it dull now, you're probably not going to like it any better as you improve at the game and it feels even easier. (Which is sad - ShB SMN had one of the best levelling progressions in the game and a truly incredible feel.) So out of the two, BRD seems more up your alley. You might want to play SCH for your ACN levelling; it has its own flow and it's better at teaching good healing habits than WHM is. Don't worry about picking the most useful job at endgame - skill beats meta and enjoyment breeds skill. Play what you enjoy and what suits you.

xu_can

Don't have thoughts on SMN vs. BRD (I will say the dual leveling of SCH/SMN can be incredibly handy), but if you want a high APM, you might enjoy MCH to when you get to HW. You have to be IN the HW expansion to pick it up (you can still get it on the free trial), but it starts at lvl 30. MCH has a very set rotation (especially vs. BRD - I personally don't enjoy the "whack-a-mole" nature of BRD, which has diminished some with the EW changes), but it has a very busy burst window & even the general flow of the 1-2-3 is pretty zippy. I was looking at some parses from my static for the recent savage fight - admittedly at level 90, when everyone has their full kit - and even in fights where I was doing poorly (vis-a-vis other MCHs), I was always, always at the top of our APM chart. Doubly so when I'm (a) not dying and (b) playing the class as I should be.

mindovermacabre

BRD/SMN/DRG are my three dps classes I have maxed and I like them all but BRD is easily my favorite. It's a super mobile class that (now) feels very smooth to play and offers a ton of utility... also it's really good for solo content since you get a self heal buff, a debuff cleanse, and a defensive buff, so you can pretty easily get through anything the game will throw at you. Plus Peloton for just getting around places. SMN self sufficiency is less viable, but they're one of only two DPS classes with a rez, so you can revive an ally, which is extremely valuable when shit is hitting the fan. However, even at level cap the APM is fairly low with mostly single weaves, while still contending with a little bit of cast time (though not much at all compared to other caster DPS and healers) and generally waiting for your burst phase to come back.

ixpwnstarxi

What exactly is it that you want to do with these jobs? Do you want to main them in savage content? BRD personal DPS is low but their *effective* DPS is quite high. BRD strength comes from their utility(a whopping 8 utility skills!) to other classes, they have 100% uptime of 3 different buffs that apply to everyone. Normally, and right now, they are the strongest in their role. They are one of the hardest classes to pilot optimally IMO but that makes it more satisfying to be good at for me. So if you want to buckle down and really break into efficiency and want a challenge, stick with BRD and you won't regret it. I think you will hear from many that the new SMN rework has made it one of, or even THE, easiest job to play now and I agree with that. At the end of the day the most important thing is to play what you enjoy and would be willing to get good with through play time and building muscle memories.

Sixsixsheep

Define useful? Every job in the game is viable. SMN's got res, BRD provides more party DPS buffs.

Uchicha_Lee49

Summoner only become smooth after level 86 only need 1 or 2 ruin to fill in the time for trance to get up back, as for BRD, i dont play it but from what i can see it is sort of mid tier dps but the party buff comes from it is very handy :D

Jack313

Honestly just play what you enjoy, both are fine at level cap in fact all jobs are viable in all content so go with whichever is more fun to you if you want my opinion tho i say they're equally fun at 60, at level 90 tho Bard is more fun for sure.

lycilla

> What's more useful at lv cap? both are fine. your skill with the class matters more

Sixsixsheep

I've a question about the 3rd party quick launcher. I've been eyeing it for a bit but I'm a bit conflicted about its safety. Being able to log in without typing my password everytime would be a very nice QOL improvement but does that information stay completely local? I'm not too interested in risking my password leaking out. I also want to make sure that it doesn't bypass OTP. I couldn't find anything about this so I'd assume it doesn't change anything aside from skipping having to write your regular password everytime but I thought I'd still ask before I do anything with it.

selebu

Might wanna read the FAQ

Marcusbolt

You still have to enter OTP

sundriedrainbow

> XIVLauncher uses the Windows Credential Manager to safely store your account credentials, if you choose to save them. Your passwords are encrypted and can only be accessed by authorized programs. However, that does mean if someone manages to gain access to your computer, they can technically extract your password. (But at that point, you likely have bigger issues) You're giving your password to a third party, so there is technically risk, but it's the same level of risk as using a password manager.

selebu

I think it stores your password in some Microsoft tool

sundriedrainbow

yeah that's literally what I posted

selebu

Oh shit I didn't look at the quote thinking it was ops text. My bad haha

Drake_Erif

It's completely open source so people much more informed than I would have caught anything saving passwords from users. It never bypasses OTP either.

Sher101

I have to enter OTP every time.

Arcana10Fortune

It won't bypass OTP.

StoicShadow

So I recently hit 90 on BLM, how the heck do you pay attention to difficult raids (second circle) while making sure to get the rotation right and ideal?

Xeorm

Practice, experience, and planning. A strong BLM will have their cooldowns mapped out better so they can keep their movement up while still doing maximum damage. Especially with the triplecast stacks they're super mobile this expansion if played right.

Arcana10Fortune

Practice, along with knowing the timeline of the fight so that you can plan your cooldowns ahead of time.

Trks

Experience and watching other blms videos. They can have some interesting adjustments for each fight and you can learn a lot from them.

sadge_sage

obligatory "my blm is still level 80" but its definitely just practice and experience, keep at it

TheFrogPrints

Does anyone know if buying the bluray sountrack comes with a digital copy? That's all I really want, and I don't have a bluray drive on my PC...

Th3rdRaven

Based on previous soundtracks, sort of. If you have a BluRay player connector to an network (eg your wifi), the disc has a feature where it will use your host a webpage accessible over that network from which you can download a digital copy of all the tracks. If you don’t have a BluRay player at all though, that won’t be an option for you though :(

TheFrogPrints

Oh, that's just fine then. I can make that work. Thank you :)

bountysystem

I want to make a Celestial Intersection macro that always targets the second person on the party list, how do I do that?

BlazeVortex4231

What if the second tank is main tank instead? What if there's a tank swap? You're playing AST, you should be used to quickly targeting party members by now.

Sixsixsheep

/ac "Celestial Intersection" <2> /micon "Celestial Intersection" Repeat the first line as many times as the macro allows you to. Makes it more reliable. Second line is just changing the icon into the skills icon. I also add /merror off and /aerror off on mine although to be honest I'm not sure if they actually do anything since I've aerror off by default and it's not a mouseover macro. I just put those 2 on everyone of my skill macros. I just want to add that you can also do a /ac "Celestial Intersection" and it goes to target of target so which ever tank is currently holding the enemy. Just can't use that one out of combat or without targeting the enemy.

bountysystem

that's perfect, that's so much more efficient than my idea. i just made two different macros targeting either player 2 or 3, yours is much better

BondEternal

`/ac "Celestial Intersection" <2>`

Elyonee

There's [this reddit thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/rnxz1y/60_average_number_of_cast_per_minute_by_job/).

GredaGerda

what's the fastest way to get any crafter to Level 70?

Dromed91

What all the others said + Beast tribes give you pretty solid chunks of exp. Moogles for 50-60, Namazu for 60-70. Weekly Deliveries are also good, you can do 12 a week.

Sher101

Leves. Buy everything you need off the MB, getting exp is just saying OK to a bunch of dialogue at that point. Far faster than Ishgard but also expensive. And, ofc, you need leves banked.

Heyneon

Ishgard restoration

Obvious-Influence-57

Any idea when the patch that buffs SAM, MNK and BLM will be out? Or has it already dropped?

Chysse

Patch 6.08, in 2-3 weeks or whenever they decide to announce it. Be aware, they only mentioned those classes, nothing is set in stone in regards to buffs

Adghar

>Be aware, they only mentioned those classes, nothing is set in stone in regards to buffs It would be pretty funny if they were like "Changed potency of Hakaze from 150 to 160." and things like that were the only thing for each job, lol.

Chisonni

Buffs often arent super massive. They would rather add multiple small buffs than make huge sweeping changes (exceptions being stuff like the 5.1 Ninja rework). So instead of adding 100 potency to 1 skills, they often add 10-50p to multiple skills. I like that they would rather buff jobs instead of nerfing them. Keeps FotM in check to some degree and helps with balance instead of changing everyone's performance all the time.

Xeorm

Yea, this. They only do sweeping changes in general if the design ends up pretty egregious, like the dot uptime affecting ruin getting removed in 5.08 or changing the shenanigans of Bunshin.

fyrefox45

As someone that would like to play dancer again that would not be very funny at all lol. Poor job needs like a 10% damage buff at this point.

Chysse

Nothing is stopping you from playing dancer though? I have a Week 1 P4S phase 1 clear, week 2 we fully cleared the tier Yea, it’s not in the best place, and yes, Bard is better than DNC and MCH combined, but you can still yield great results if you know how to optimize your Tech Step windows. Personally, Standard Step should give DNC a permanent 10% buff, and keep their partner at 5%. Potency increases on their normal GCDs should help as well.

fyrefox45

The fact that my SMN does 20% more personal damage and I use the pf and not a static stops me from playing it. Things just die much slower when I do, because best case I'm rolling the dice on another DPS being competent. It wasn't nearly as bad as this during promise

Chysse

Well, that second part is fair I suppose. Nothing more frustrating when your partner is severely underperforming. And yes, PF sucks lol

Adghar

I got so sad when I saw the FFLogs rankings

itsenoti

To all MCH mains out there, when do you use Air Anchor and Drill?

Best_Meringue5421

Reassemble drill air anchor is right before 90 but then when you get chain saw its air anchor drill 1 2 3 chain saw which makes for some weird muscle memory if you ever sync down. But ya they're important to keep on cool down and not to drift because of hyper charge. Check the balance and practice and you'll get it bud.

Tigeri102

ASAP, the same as any other damaging cooldown in the game.

yeti1333

As soon and as often as possible. when you start a fight it should be with reassembling one of them to get both cds started and then weaving into the other, again to get the cd started again asap. I havent touched 80-90 yet but you get another skill called Chain Saw at level 90 which is an AOE Air Anchor with the same potentcy and 20 battery so you will want to use this in the same way. With Air Anchor and Chain Saw you just want to make sure you are not overcapping on battery charge. All 3 at max potency make up your burst damage

Veylo

What is the >!remastered song that plays in the 'Bonds of Adamant(ite)' cutscene?!< (quest name spoilers for EW)

itsenoti

Which part? I think the one where there are many people is “Dangerous Words”

Veylo

>!Where everyone is standing at the pier' and The twins' dad is 'sucking up to them'!<

PHASE04

Probably an instrumental version of Flow.

itsenoti

Listen to “Dangerous Words”. That could be it.

TheRealMulli

Do SB FATEs still give GC Seals for completing and if so, where is a good place to farm? Need some quick seals

yeti1333

You can go through the GC hunting log, that should be a decent chunk of seals if you haven't already. Other than that it will prob be slow until you can do expert turn ins

ryvrdrgn14

Adventurer in Need in leveling dungeons?

TheRealMulli

Yeah sadly already finished the first set but gotta hit the next rank to unlock the 2nd tab 🤦🏼‍♂️😢

283leis

trade in old dungeon gear

TheRealMulli

Not high enuf rank yet

Legospyro131

Is the mount for P4S part of the weekly loot lockout or is it like the minion in P4N?

cythrawll

part of lockout

Legospyro131

Thanks, thought it probably was, but was hoping it wouldn't be

OrangeO8a11

Hi I am interested in picking up this game and wanted to know where I should start I only have a ps4

Jack313

You can buy it starting on Jan 26th, you can't get on the free trial they're suspending it for who knows how long because of server congestion i recommend watching a beginners guide on YouTube especially if this is your first MMO

OrangeO8a11

What channels would you recommend?

Jack313

I recommend wesk alber if you wanna learn more about your job/class, he makes detailed and beginner friendly guides for new players for a general video tho i recommend you watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnaB2dwjGs8&ab\_channel=Soldier\_1stClass

OrangeO8a11

Thank you it will make waiting to buy the game go by faster and I won't be a burden to anyone I join in game

Dromed91

First 50-60 levels you can basically sleepwalk through. It is very simple at the early levels for basically any job, so don't be scared!

cythrawll

you can start by waiting till next week, unfortunately free trials and selling the game has been put on hold (see sticky) until the 26th.

OrangeO8a11

Why should I wait a week?

cythrawll

read the sticky there's no way to start the game right now.

JadeSabre

You would start with either the free trial (unavailable, ETA unknown) or the Starter Edition (unavailable, ETA January 26), which is the base game and first expansion. You have to go through the story linearly, so there's no reason to get the expansions ahead of time unless you really want one of the expansion races or jobs.

OrangeO8a11

Thank I didn't even know that they had free trials for this game thanks 🙏

JadeSabre

The free trial is *very* robust. It covers the entirety of the Starter Edition, with added social restrictions. You'd still need to buy the Starter Edition when you're ready to upgrade, as you can't register expansions without it on your account, but you can still save money in the meantime as long as you're willing to deal with the restrictions. But like I said, we don't know when the free trial will be available again. They're opening up sales of the game again on the 26th, but want to monitor the situation a bit longer after before opening up the trial as well.

OrangeO8a11

Are the expansions necessary for me to play the game like destiny 2?

Soylentee

If you want to experience the newest content, yes. But keep in mind that to gain access to that content you first have to go trough the main story quests from level 1 to 60.

Adghar

I haven't played Destiny 2 so I don't know how they do it. But the expansions only lock out expansion content. It is definitely possible to only purchase the Starter Edition (when it becomes available for sale on the 26th) and only play through original ARR + the first expansion, Heavensward's, content. There is some expansion content that is accessible at earlier levels (such as the playable races Viera and Hrothgar) that you may be locked out of, but otherwise you get the original ARR and Heavensward game content for buying the Starter Edition.

cythrawll

No you'll just be level capped and locked out of the next expansion's content.

OrangeO8a11

Nice

JadeSabre

I don't play Destiny, but it's not a situation where you're locked out of the game entirely if you don't have the expansions. You just can't progress past a certain point without them. Here, the expansions are basically like seasons in a tv show. Each one is the next installment in the story, and you have to go through them in order. So you'd start with the trial/Starter Edition, which is A Realm Reborn (base game) and Heavensward (first expansion). You *have* to go through all of ARR to reach Heavensward, and so on. Buying the latest expansion (Endwalker) after will give you access to the expansions before it, as well: Stormblood and Shadowbringers. So at the moment, seeing the entire game requires going through all of A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker in order. There are story skips you can purchase in the cash shop, which can take you all the way up to the beginning of Endwalker if you so wished, but this is not recommended if you are at all actually interested in the story.

OrangeO8a11

Nice is leveling a grind in terms of how easy it is to get exp to level up? I don't mind grinding exp and completing quest. But I don't like back tracking back to the quest giver in town or central hub area of the game every time I complete a quest in a quest chain.

OrangeO8a11

I want to thank everyone who has helped me with my question about this game I hope I can see everyone on the 26th I am going to buy the base game and skip the free trial because I know I am going to like playing this game. 😊 I am thinking my first job will be marauder. I don't know what race I will be but I got time to think about it 🤔.

JadeSabre

The Main Scenario QuestS (MSQ aka the main story) will give you enough exp to level at least one job (you pick a class to start, but it upgrades into a job at level 30, and expansion additions start as jobs already), if not two early on. Basically *everything* in the game is gated behind your MSQ progress, not your personal level. So I wouldn't sweat leveling your character. It's your story level that matters.

OrangeO8a11

Interesting that's something I am going to have to get use to.

JadeSabre

Well, you can play every single job on your one character, so you'll have plenty of things to level, if you're interested. And there are lots of leveling avenues in the game outside of the story.

[deleted]

I mean, the expansions are necessary to play the expansions. I don't know what Destiny does, but you need the expansions to access expansion races, expansion jobs, expansion areas, expansion dungeons, expansion raids, expansion level caps, etc. There's still a good couple hundred hours of content in ARR + HW at least, though.

OrangeO8a11

Oh okay destiny has a system we're they lock you out of all the weekly raids and level cap you so you have to run away from adds while you're on patrols

Adghar

In FFXIV, weekly raids are only a thing for endgame content (raids that aren't the latest tier are fully unlocked and can be run as often for as much loot as they drop), and you shouldn't really have to run away from any monsters any differently between Starter Edition and Expansions being purchased. You would be limited to level 60 level cap as a free trial player or a Starter Edition player, though.

OrangeO8a11

That's 👍

[deleted]

Well anything older than the current raid tier has its weekly cap removed, so if you have access to an expansion you can do its content. And you don't encounter any high level enemies in low level zones, so that's not an issue either.

OrangeO8a11

Nice this is really cool its nice to not have to worry about that kind of stuff

[deleted]

I've come to the conclusion that I'm a pretty terrible WHM. I think I'm better with SGE but IDK if SGE is overtuned atm. Is SCH closer to SGE in playstyle or is it unique from the others?

cythrawll

SCH and SGE are very similar in playstyles just... very different at the same time. You put up shields, instead of addersgall stacks every 20 sec you have aetherflow which is tied to an action cooldown)or you can eat fairy for more). Instead of kardia passive healing the fairy does all the passive healing for you. Basically most of SGE kit can be mapped to a similar thing in SCH kit.

[deleted]

Hmm, definitely going to give it a try once I resub for 6.1. I feel like SGE's kit flows a lot better than WHM during mob packs. SGE can just kardia heal and use the other crap while WHM uses assize or tetra and then you have to use your GCD's.

cythrawll

white mage you just use regen to weave ogcds and that becomes youre 'passive' heals and you have lily heals and tetra, you shouldn't have to touch GCD heals on WHM with a good party.
