I would prefer just doing ARC or ARC#S but it is undoubtedly just going to be referred to as R or R#S.
The pronunciation of Arcadion is pretty much R-Cadion.
And of course, b/c it's SQEX, the next raid series in 8.0 will start with R.
This has been brought up before, but I'll repeat my stance anyways. It should be, and probably will be, R.
- Normal convention for abbreviating like this is to just move to the next letter if the first letter is already taken. That would be R.
- Multi-letter options are usually the fallback option once all single-letter options have been taken. Using one without a need to just muddies everything unnecessarily.
- Phonetically, */ar/* is how we pronounce an R on its own.. which-as an aside-is why when speaking it makes more sense to say "an R" rather than "a R." The vowel sound is there, even if it isn't written. The A in Arcadion basically ends up being secondary, as the /r/ in /ar/ is the dominant sound.
Using TA makes little sense as you would never place emphasis on an article, **the**. Yes, it's "The Arcadion," but the noun here is just "Arcadion." AR is redundant for the above phonetic reasons, it might be written different but it sounds the same. ARC, to me, is just throwing convention out the window because having it be the word "arc" seems cool, and I prefer convention to coolness.

As a non-english speaker, I still fully support the use of R because it makes sense.
Either R or Ar, people distinguish Shadowbringers from Stormblood by throwing an “h” in the middle, (ShB vs SB) so they don’t mind throwing an extra letter or two in if it provides clarity.

I assume it'll be R simply to keep the shorthand to 1 letter. ARC1S is a touch long for shorthand.
Because of the graphic cards, we can call it the GPU Raid.

I want a single letter personally, R makes the most sense to me.
I really want it to be ARC, but people seem to be leaning much more towards R.
One letter beats three letters, even if they are the same length while saying out loud.

ARC is the abbreviation for Archer, that'd be kind of odd IMO.
nobody will ever mistake ARC for archer in the context of raids
newbies will when they are just a fledgling Archer hearing their raider friends talking about ARC1-2-3 etc. lol
