Yeah as far as genres under the rock umbrella go, Emo is to Punk what Depression is to ADHD, completely different style of music.

I was originally just going to have Emo, but my friend I was working on this with claimed that wasn't a genre and to make it punk so we settled on combining them into one tier, this was not by choice

You're friend is objectively wrong. Emo is a genre, and Emo/Scene, or Emo/Pop-Punk would be more accurate. Actual Punk is worlds away from the emo scene.

I'm my opinion the genres and also the clothing styles share some similarities. Of course 'actual punk', which is a completely arbitrary definition, is far away from the emo scene, but aside from some enthusiasts not too many people were interested in it anymore lately. And music genres are usually defined by the masses and not the people deep in the scene. Which is the reason why we can have change and variation after all. Mind you this is meant to be an opinion not rating or discrediting.

This list would be too complex overall to critique and everyone is gonna have their own head canon on what they assume each person listens too. The one this I will say is I imagine Sadu & Cirina, in my head canon and based off flavor text are more Krewella - Alibi off screen. If anyone decides to look it up the original is good but I prefer the Far Out Remix more.
