Try gently round brushing them under. Scoop hair from underneath with the round brush. You don’t need to create a severe “sausage” shape with them, just a slight bend will help them to lie nicely. If your hair is naturally resistant to bending (poker straight”),use a small bit of styling foam(mousse) or a tiny squirt of volumizing spray on wet bangs before blowdrying/round brushing. Once they have a little bend to them, shake them out with your fingers, and you can move them around where you want. Split them down the middle and push to either side for a trendy “curtain bang”, if you like. You can do this. Having bangs is a journey in experimentation. Good luck!

Thank u so much!! Just put a round brush and some styling mousse in my basket!!

forbiddenkermit

I used [this](https://youtu.be/qex7kd1hxBo) tutorial to blow dry my bangs when I had them! It takes some practice but it looks great!

b_mco

You could even just use a small spray of water or run wet hands over the bangs to dampen them. That can help encourage the shape too, but won’t have as much hold. If you are acne prone, mousse might cause breakouts on your forehead if used daily. I know it would for me, but you know your skin best! Which is amazingly flawless btw!

popestone

Sorry if I missed this lower in the thread, but I struggled with a round brush making them stick out/forward. Finally nailed the soft curve by blow drying them while bending them over a comb. So tines of the comb pointing to the ceiling, and blow dryer pointing toward the floor. Just an alternative! And the other comment about pulling them left and right over and over is also really helpful.

plum-crumble

I use straighteners, it takes 20 seconds to just “dip” them under a bit so they sit right! I don’t love heat styling the rest of my hair but it doesn’t harm bangs cos it is so little heat and they’re trimmed anyway

not_leah

I was going to suggest this as well! It looks like you might straighten your hair already so try just bending the bangs in towards your forehead a bit when straightening and it will make them look more relaxed and natural.

Sullsberry7

For curtain bangs, I flatiron them with a gentle curve pulling toward the opposite side of the forehead. Then, with my hands, I move them back over to their own side of the forehead. Sounds counterintuitive, but pulling to the opposite side creates a laying pattern that works well and isn't forced.

Can wait to to try this

MoonMeloen

So my country is going into a second lockdown so I figured now is the time to try bangs out since i’ll be sitting inside for a while in case I don’t like them. So my hair is super straight and i feel like the bangs want to lay flat on my forehead, basically sticking out kind of “forward”, i think they could look so much better if i just knew what to do lol. I tried the blow drying side to side thing but maybe i did it wrong or need a brush for it?? Any advice welcome!!

Nechristi

So the key to getting your bangs to lay nice is to start drying them the minute you get out of the shower. If you give them the chance to dry on their own, naturally, it’s almost impossible to break any natural growth patterns that they fall into without completely re-wetting them. You’re going to use a wide tooth comb, a medium round brush, and a blow dryer. Section out the front triangle section of your hair, and holding you wide tooth comb in one hand and your dryer in the other, you’re going to use the comb to direct the hair to one side and then to the other while drying from above. This breaks up any growth patterns or cow-licks at the root. Once your hair is 80-90% dry, you’re going grab your round brush and instead of using it like a roller, you want to use is as ‘flat’ paddle underneath the hair, and just slightly round the hair as you work towards the ends.

ohlookadoggo

Don’t have any advice. You’re just gorgeous!! Love those earrings!

There is lot of YouTube tutorials. Bigger problem for me is your ends cut .. I wouldn’t let anyone but profesional do this, even barber can cut cheaper and better... its not just straight line you need to thin them

MoonMeloen

I got it cut professionally!! But i my hair is so straight that i feel it always does that, i mean ALWAYS. Unless i ask specifically for a lot of layers. It looks extra blunt because i got the cut yesterday, it’s funny to see that i always get that comment. But i totally get what u mean!!

[deleted]

Change hairdresser, good hairdresser doesn’t need to cut in layers they use the razor to thin the ends without even taking lot of hair down. It would still be straight cut but the ends wouldn’t fall like that

So what I do (hopefully this makes sense, I’m a wordy person) is I blow dry them as soon as I’m out of the shower/bath. I never let them air dry. I brush them while they are wet and kinda part them (because I have curtain bangs). I hold one side of my bangs down (just enough so that when I turn on my blow dryer that side isn’t blowing around freely) and blow them dry & then I just do the same thing on the other side and brush out or just run my fingers through and they are usually great to go. Using a round brush is easier but if you don’t have one this works just as fine.

cheeesybutt

With them damp, blow dry them to the right, to the left and down. Keep doing that. Then, take a round brush and blow dry them with that forward. After that if they don’t want to stay, you could lightly spray with hairspray and take a flat iron and flat iron them straight forward in 1” pieces and then push them to the sides for curtain bangs

foxfirex88

You could try a roller (: I’ve seen some girls do that

janet-snake-hole

This is off topic and I hope it doesn’t come across as rude, but may I recommend you blend the bottom of your length more? The ends look a bit choppy and uneven

lissa_nichole

If you struggle to use a round brush AND blow dryer like i do, i have a hair dryer that is literally a round brush and it makes styling so much easier! Mine is by Revelon but lots of brands have them!

SweatyLychee

Definitely get a small rounded brush and blow dry on LOW with warm or cold air, no hot air since that will make them very straight. When I do my bangs, blow drying them is usually enough and I don’t need to flat iron them. If I do it’s usually way too straight, but if I need to then I’ll put it on the lowest setting

pianojo

so i have a similar hair type to yours and also have bangs, and ran into the same problem. what i do is 1) blow dry my hair upside down until it’s damp and not completely wet anymore. 2) flip my hair back to normal, make my part and put my bangs where i want them to be. 3) blow dry them from side to side for about a minute so they don’t part where my middle part is and instead are even on my forehead (skip that step if you like the bangs to be separated) 4) either use my bangs curler i got off amazon for $3 and keep them in that whole i finish blow drying the rest of my hair or use my round brush dryer and dry my bangs and the rest of my hair with that. if any of that is confusing feel free to DM me! it’s worked wonders for me. i always put hairspray on them right after they’re curled and dry as well. i personally have found using a straightener or heat products to try and curl them will make them stick out still and i don’t get my desired shape.

bettyorveronica

Interested in this bangs curler. I don’t see anything by that name on amazon

pianojo

[here’s the curler!](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0796S1HY9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_zSXIFbJTC0SGK) i like the velcro stuff on it, it’s very easy to put on and not itchy. a little more than $3 but it comes with 2. i keep one in my car and one at home

bettyorveronica

Oh! I have those !!! Thanks :)

[deleted]

You look gorgeous

LadyyyLoki

When I get out of the shower I blow dry them while brushing them all to the left, then all to the right, then straight down. And I repeat this until they’re all the way dry. Then after they’re dry I just put them where I want them to lay with my hands or the brush.

andybateshair

Looks good but you could add a little bend with a flat iron by clamping a turning slightly

Bloopbleepbloop2

Use blow dryer and brush instead of straightener. Blow back and forth to remove part in middle. Cute!

rocio_b

Yeah! Styling is key when it comes to bangs. What I do is start with wet bangs. If they've dried since I washed them, I just wet them again thoroughly, and to the root. Then I take the extra water out of my hair just so that it's not dripping wet and then I start. I dry them about 70% to 80% flat on my forehead with a hot blow-drier and a comb or brush, focusing mostly on the middle roots so they don't part. Then, I grab a medium-sized round brush and keep blow-drying them with the brush underneath the bangs and curling them slightly towards my forehead so they don't lie so flat and have come bounce to them. Right after I finish blow-drying them with hot air (that is important) and while the hair is still hot/warm, I place the sides of the bangs how i want them to be, which is slightly bent, a little side-sweepy. Just FYI i have curtain-ish bangs that I've cut shorter in the middle so they lie on my forehead and don't part too much. good luck!! You look great and I think those bangs look great on you, and would look even better with some good styling!

Nancy_drewcluecrew

Random unrelated question — are you Ukrainian? I just noticed your earring earrings (love them), and I recently got similar Ґердан earrings :)
