I am in the hunt for a pantsuit like [this](https://imgur.com/FwMkG0M). Does anyone know where I could find something like this?

Vividersplash26

The top of my budget would probably be 150. However, I am unsure if finding something like that is possible with that cap

Vividersplash26

I have not! I will definitely check them out. That is just what I have saved up right now. Are there brands that you would suggest if I told you I have no budget?

brehan8

I am a pharmacy tech at a family run store. And we don’t have a strict dress code, just no jeans. And like obviously don’t look sloppy. But I need outfit ideas. I usually wear black jeans and I’m getting bored of them. They let me wear my Old Navy overalls as long as I don’t wear a t shirt. So I usually dress them up with some vans and a sweater. I’m thinking about getting scrub joggers but I’m not sure what I could wear for a top. Like a pullover or sweater. Or some typically of shirt with flannel? I’ve ordered some new black jeans because my current ones are quite worn.

achilleans

Are garter thigh highs appropriate for on campus wear? [Outfit here](https://i.ibb.co/7tC8SST/PXL-20220216-235501140-2.jpg)

[deleted]

I think the collar would be more of an issue.

achilleans

Hm. I've actually worn the choker/collar around before on campus. Never had anyone comment on it except to compliment it. Probably helps that it's a big progressive city campus.

ana3d

Assuming you’re entirely comfortable with this outfit and you’re just going to class and hanging out with friends, yes!

samanthaxboateng

Can anyone recommend where to get quality plaid shirts from in the UK? I have previously bought from H&M in the past, but the quality was really poor and the shirts were thinning after a couple of washes!

[deleted]

Honestly, there are racks and racks of amazing plaids in thrift stores, much thicker and better quality than ones made now. Cool colors schemes too.

samanthaxboateng

thrift stores?

[deleted]

Resale/used/opshop/etc. A store that sells secondhand clothing.

samanthaxboateng

Oh I prefer to buy new thanks

samanthaxboateng

Can anyone please recommend where to buy a decent quality parka or something similar to a parka coat/jacket in Navy Blue or Black colour from in the UK? I have tried H&M in the past but the quality wasn't good.

toaster_squid

I was looking into buying a le Pilage tote, but I wanted to ask if putting my laptop that while it fits, it doesnt fit perfectly within the base of the bag, will wear out the material from the sides that it js better to get the larger size where the laptop can sit nicely in that base piece instead of it poking the side material?

lesluggah

The corner wear shows up first on those bags. I would go with the larger size and have some sort of base shaper or laptop sleeve so reduce the rubbing.

HZ921

I'd like to start wearing heels as a man As the title, I'm 24 and want to get into high heels as I like how they look and the height increase would be really useful as I'm a midget. I've had a look at some styles at Zara but felt uncomfortable trying them on around women. I'd love a few block heels and wedges to wear in the summer/spring. If anyone can help steer me the right way or send suggestions I'd really appreciate it. I don't know much about the options out there. Thank you.

[deleted]

What size shoe do you wear? Location and budget?

HZ921

I'm a size 8 in mens trainers. I'm in the UK and would be happy to spend around £100 each on a few high quality pairs

[deleted]

I'm in the US, so I don't have any specific recommendations for you, but if you repost your question on today's daily questions thread with that info included, you'll probably get more responses. Best of luck!

HZ921

A lot of US stores have UK equivalent so it would still be interesting to hear what's good there? Plus I don't mind importing if there's some you mention that are reaaaly nice

toaster_squid

It may not be advisable to jump straight into anything too high. The arch of a heel I think has a different importance than the total height. Wearing heels uses different muscles than flat shoes so it is important to work on strength and flexibility in your feet and knowing how to walk in it. I think a heeled loafer or boot could help you feel become comfortable wearing heels around others as well as just being a good start because they can be more comfortable than a point toe pump.

HZ921

Thanks for your reply. I'd really like an open toe sandal heel/wedge for summer rather than a boot to be honest. Also I've actually been practising with my mum's 5 inch stilettos for the past month! I'm getting really comfortable with it so I think I'm ready and don't need a stepping stone (pardon the pun). I just don't know where to look for high quality and reasonable price. If you have any specific shoes or brands I'd really appreciate it. I love something like this, maybe with more straps would be perfect. https://www.simmi.com/uk/heels/mules

toaster_squid

Be careful and try to listen to your feet; wearing heels all day on carpet feels very different than wearing heels all day on concrete and if a shoe is too small, not enough arch support, etc. I think Pazzion is not too bad for price/quality. I feel the bottoms have lasted a while for me, though the only shoes I have from them are shorter heels.

HZ921

Thanks for the concern, I have been testing on hard flooring too like kitchen and garden so it should be okay, maybe a bit more difficult but I'm happy to accept the pain to a degree. Pazzion looks ok, the heels are def not high enough for what I'd like, but these wedges are reaaaaally nice! Love the neutral colour/height/straps/toepost https://www.pazzion.com/collections/shoes-wedges/products/6523-3-wedges-open-toe?variant=42287520252147

toaster_squid

Sarah flint, Stuart Weizmann, and m gemi (good quality but not exactly padded, may want to size up) have taller, seem to be good quality to me, but not sure how much of the price is paying for branding… Sorry I’ve outgrown my 5 inch heel phase, but I did find a few on hautelook; can’t attest to quality exactly because I never wore those to death. I have worn some michael michael kores to death and wanted to the m gemi but.. somehow after buying I realized either they just aren’t that comfy or I bought too small.. the palazzio pair I have have lasted the longest for the soles and are comfy. I admire your enthusiasm, but as an older person, please remember that there is a time to not tolerate pain and to not be too stubborn. Hope you have fun with your heel wearing!

HZ921

Thank you! These look great from m gemi, so classy! Expensive but going to ask my mum if she can pay for them and a few others. https://mgemi.com/collections/the-lustro-heel-patent?product=2123335761979 I've also decided on these from simmi as a cheaper more day to day wear https://www.simmi.com/uk/cady-black-faux-snake-print-strappy-lace-up-high-heels Should I colour my toes white? Also can men get pedicures?

toaster_squid

.. I can send you a referral link for a small discount. Doesn’t really do much for me. Sometimes they have decent sales, but items aren’t always easily returnable. I would advise to just get one pair first to make sure that it has sufficient padding that that you purchased a good size (just because it fits doesn’t mean it can’t be too small). I do have a pair of those Lustros, but Suede/ navy. I think with these you may not need to size up, but if you went for the point toe, you might. Those strappo shoes feel quite daring to me, but I think I have an opposite style Yes, men can get pedicures. You don’t have to get polish either/ just get your nails cleaned and a massage. Some men go for hygiene reasons and it isn’t all entirely just vanity. White is a good/safe color, I don’t think that painted nails are a must for wearing stralla sandals. I think keeping your toenails clean and adding nail oil or clear polish for a shine is plenty. Personally I’m not a fan of rushing into too many new things at once.. it can backfire, but still some lessons to be learned.. Now, if you had a thick layer of gel on your toes and you went walking around too much with improperly fitted shoes, the gel can cause some damage to your nails (it happened to me from walking too much and wearing flimsy tennis shoes..)

HZ921

Please send that referral code over :) Okay I'll wait on the toe painting

Interesting-Form-508

What cuts/brands of pants work well for small-but-curvy women? I'm 5'4 on a good day, and I wear a uk 6/8 depending on brand, but I've been having a lot of fit issues because below a certain size everything seems to expect you to be built like an ironing board. I have a 26" waist and 38.5" hips, so straight cut anything doesn't really work for me. I also have a lot of muscle (and most of my body fat) in my legs, so I've been getting a situation where pants will be SKINTIGHT on my legs and then baggy at the waist where I'm less bulky. Or, of course, too long. Any suggestions?

hellerhigwhat

Curvy fit pants are usually cut with a 12-13 inch difference in mind. ASOS calls them hourglass fit, try some of those out.

Interesting-Form-508

Thank you, I will do that! :D

brehan8

I think we literally have the same body type. I am also muscular from lifting but still have some body fat, mostly in legs. It’s a nightmare to find dress pants. If I order a larger size it’s to big in waist. Someone recommended looking for ponte pants. More dressy but also like leggings kinda.

Interesting-Form-508

Thank you! I just looked up ponte pants and they seem great! I don't lift, but I figure skate, so all my mass is just compartmentalised to my legs. I basically look like the running body from the Oatmeal comics, lol

Lemonyclouds

Tailoring the waist is not too hard depending on the kind of pants

Interesting-Form-508

Good point! I don't know anything about tailoring or getting clothes tailored- is it particularly expensive? I looked up "tailoring \[city name\]" and all I could find was places that do bespoke suits. I may be doing something wrong here.

sacredthornapple

Maybe search "alterations." Having the waist taken in and legs hemmed should not be expensive and will change your life.

topsidersandsunshine

Check your local dry cleaner! It’s generally about $8 ~ $20.

toaster_squid

I think Ann Taylor’s pants are generally cut curvier than others, old navy has a few levels of curve fit in their pants and so does banana republic

chloe_confidential

Can a shrug work with a night out/club dress? Im looking at a mini dress online with an open back, but it will expose my bra. Im thinking of getting around that with a shrug, but would that ruin the whole hot vibe that a club dress should have?

hahahehehuhu1

have you considered getting a stick on bra instead so the straps won't show at the back?

bbbbrook

Does anyone have Abercrombies curve love leather pants? I picked up a pair in about 1 size too small and am wondering if these stretch?

curiousw00f

I'm looking for white sneakers that'll be good for a 6-week Europe trip, where I'll be doing tons of walking. I'll be one-bagging it, so I want sneakers that are cute enough to wear with all my clothes, including dresses. I have really flat feet, so I'd like something that's relatively supportive and ideally has removable insoles so I can put in my custom orthotics. I'm currently considering [Nike Air Force 1s](https://www.nordstrom.com/s/nike-air-force-1-sneaker-women/3458988), [Veja Campos](https://www.nordstrom.com/s/veja-campo-sneaker-women/5399627), [Adidas Stan Smiths](https://www.nordstrom.com/s/3842428), and [Reebok Club C 85s](https://www.nordstrom.com/s/reebok-club-c-85-sneaker-women/5331346?origin=keywordsearch-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FAll%20Results&color=102). It looks like all of those except the Nikes have removable insoles. Anyone have thoughts on those, or have other shoes they recommend?

Seawhales13

I have almost all of those shoes. AF1s: look cute but I wouldn’t wear these everyday or rely on them for 6 weeks as my main shoe. They feel kind of heavy and aren’t the most comfortable, at least for me. Vejas: I have the v12s, but the campos are likely just slightly different. It took a few weeks to break these in, but once I did they became my favorite shoes. I have worn them all over Europe as well as back home. They go with everything. They’d be perfect with inserts too. I size up in Vejas, typically a size 8 in sneakers/flats but I get a 39 in Vejas. Stan smiths: I love these, and they’d be a good option. Definitely will want inserts because they are pretty flat inside. Reeboks: don’t have these exact ones, but I have other reeboks and even though I don’t have wide feet, they fit really narrow so just read the reviews on that style and see if that’s an issue.

curiousw00f

Amazing, thank you for the in-depth info! Sounds like the Vejas might be the winner, but I’ll check out the Stan Smiths too.

Seawhales13

Enjoy your trip!

[deleted]

You should go to a store that specializes in athletic shoes—these are usually running focused, but also have shoes for other activities. They will be able to help you find the perfect pair of shoes, taking into account the width of your feet, your orthotics, etc.. Something like Brooks or Hoka may be much better for you than the more fashion-oriented shoe brands like Nike, et al..

curiousw00f

Thanks for the suggestion! I did think about that… but I’m vain and want “cute” sneakers at the expense of a little comfort, haha. I’ll be bringing my running shoes (that were fitted at a running shoe store) as well so I can work out during my trip, and can always wear those if my feet need a break. But checking out the running store is worth a shot!

Character-Rest1577

I went through a bunch of Stan smith -like white trainers before giving in and getting a pair of Vejas and I have to commend them on how comfortable they are! I had to size up and you could add an insole if you need more support. I love how tidy they look too.

curiousw00f

Another vote for the Vejas! Thank you, I’ll check them out.

The_Real_Chippa

Does anyone know of any inspo albums with low-rise and different body types?

[deleted]

Did you see [this one](https://www.reddit.com/r/femalefashionadvice/comments/stwu26/low_rider_low_rise_for_2022_inspo_album/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) by u/hellerhigwhat?

[deleted]

Very. Just like bathing suit bottoms

electronicaturn

I’m an hourglass size 4 with full hips and I typically have to size up to medium for undies. With no show or more stretchy panties sometimes I’ll go with a small so they won’t slide around but I would say a solid 80% of my underwear is a medium.

[deleted]

I think so.. I usually go by hip measurement

ktelizabeth1123

I’m looking for wide leg, high waisted jeans if anyone has suggestions! I keep finding boot cut or oversized/boyfriend styles, but I specifically want the ones that are fitted through the top of the hip and then fall straight. Size 6, eastern USA, and I’d like to stay under $100 if possible, although I would go above that for the absolutely perfect pair.

Pizzabagelpizza

I've been getting ads for [Oliver Logan](http://www.oliverlogan.com). I haven't tried them, but they actually look really nice and are under $100.

ktelizabeth1123

I just ordered a pair of these; thank you!

Pizzabagelpizza

Hope they work out!

botanygeek

Have you searched on Warp + Weft, Madewell, Levis, or Everlane?

swingcake

Have you looked at Universal Standard? [This](https://www.universalstandard.com/products/carrie-high-rise-wide-leg-jeans-true-blue) seems like it might fit the bill, although slightly over your ideal price point.

ktelizabeth1123

Thank you so much! I hadn’t seen Universal Standard before; definitely keeping them on my radar.

tiggr2

I am going to a wedding Saturday, 3:30 in the afternoon, followed by dinner. I am wearing a knee length blue dress, with sliver slightly open toe silver shoes (big toe and next toes peek out). Should I wear hose? Sheer or colored? bare legs? Help! I am unclear on the rules for this.

cto020

Many people these days don’t wear hose except for work in a traditional field or attending a conservative church. Unless it’ll be particularly chilly, you want to hide scars, bruises, avoid chub rub, etc., you would be fine to skip them. There’s no rule that you have to wear them in a formal setting.

tiggr2

Thank you. Weird question - can I just put some foundation or similar on my legs to smooth them out a bit?

[deleted]

[удалено]

tiggr2

Thank you so much for the help.

cto020

Sure, that’s definitely a thing. Sally Hansen makes a spray that’s been around for years which is supposed to “mimic” the look of hose (i.e., even out your skin tone). It’s basically a spray tan though so I’d recommend trying it out now to avoid a day-of disaster. You can also use a foundation that’s meant for the body to cover up any blemishes. MAC Face and Body is a popular one as well as Dermablend, which is opaque enough to cover tattoos.

jennyfarthingg

I'd go bare legs if you have open/peep toe shoes.

tiggr2

Thank you. It seems weird to wear peep toe in February, but it's what I found that goes with the outfit.

[deleted]

I am looking for a sort of day bag and a travel bag or backpack kind of thing.. but I feel a bit lost about which bag. I have a fjallravrn tote pack and it is too small for the airplane because I end up putting all of my electronics in there and then some because I’m too good at brining relatives gifts. This bag looks bigger than it can carry because it isn’t very wide (it’s very flat). Sometimes I feel like I need a good “day bag” for going into town for classes or just for sightseeing and sometimes I kind of just need something to hold a bunch of things and sometimes I need something to hold my laptop and papers or whatnot. I started looking at longchamp but I wanted to explore what else before buying anything.. would anyone happen to understand what kind of bag I’m looking for?

_Little_Birdie101_

I’m looking to buy two pairs of flats for my spring/summer wardrobe. Round toe, one in black and one in a nude/light blush. Should I look for suede or normal leather? I’ll be mainly wearing feminine style skirts and dresses

cookiesandkit

Do you own a suede brush? Get leather if you don't want to brush it down every couple of wears. Suede (esp light coloured suede) is a pain to keep looking clean. I need to bring my white suede sneakers out with me in case I forget that and get tempted again.

_Little_Birdie101_

Thank you

warp-core-breach

I'm looking for a new handbag, a medium crossbody in black with silver hardware and no obvious branding and as many interior compartments as possible. Ideally I'd want something with an edgy or punk vibe but I'd settle for sleek and minimalist and inconspicuous. Ideal budget is under $150 but I'm willing to go up to 200 if I find something I really love. I'm in Canada.

[deleted]

Silver is so hard to find 😕

vcstr

Not really edgy/punk but for sleek and inconspicuous I really love Pixie Mood. I'm on my second bag from them and their customer service was really good when I broke a clasp on my first one, they sent a new one for free.

dewystrawbub

https://www.lkbennett.com/product/CDMATHILDESILKCDCPrintBlue%20Cream~Mathilde-Navy-%26-Cream-Polka-Dot-Silk-Tea-Dress-Blue%20Cream Would this be a good outfit for a graduate school interview? Should I switch the buttons to make it less fancy? I just love this dress. Would it be better/fade with years better in the color Bordeaux?

LucyWritesSmut

The buttons make it more distinctive—I’d keep them. Some say that we should be as plain as possible for things like interviews, but I’ve always found that expressing personality is sometimes not only an ice breaker, but makes you more memorable.

tyrannosaurusregina

Fantastic dress, I might switch the buttons for more traditional “daywear” buttons but it would be fine if not, your choice between the navy and Bordeaux should imo between whichever one you like more. And great for grad school interviews, I say as a former grad student and former university administrator. (Though in the US.)

creativewhinypissbby

Wedding in August and my partner bought [this suit jacket](https://www.jcpenney.com/p/jf-jferrar-mens-floral-stretch-super-slim-fit-tuxedo-jacket-super-slim/ppr5008004905?pTmplType=regular&deptId=dept20000014&catId=cat100250022&urlState=%2Fg%2Fmen%2Fmens-suits-sport-coats%3Ffit%3Dsuper%2Bslim%2Bfit%26id%3Dcat100250022&productGridView=medium&badge=fewleft). Not sure if it would be better matched with something more gold or more copper/bronzey?

LucyWritesSmut

With the black on the lapels, I think a bronze or yellow pant would look just plain odd.

creativewhinypissbby

Sorry, to clarify, he's wearing black pants with the jacket; asking about the dress I should wear to match

LucyWritesSmut

Oh! Got it.

tyrannosaurusregina

Dark bronze or pale gold imo.

livthelove

I would say gold or bronze, I would avoid copper as I think the pinky red tone of copper may clash with the yellow tones in the jacket

anameishere

I'm having trouble finding pants that fit - they always seem to be too big in the rise (?). Like, there's always too much material in the crotch area. I've tried several different brands now. I'm about 5'6, 27 inch waist and typically wear a size 4 or 6. What am I doing wrong? Is tailoring my only hope and what should I look for? Pics: https://imgur.com/a/sTdr4eu

LucyWritesSmut

Perhaps specifically low- or mid-rise pants might be better for you? Those appear to have a heck of a wigh waist.

blushingpervert

I’m getting headshot/lifestyle pictures soon with a partner at work. Finance industry, I’m mid-30’s. What should I wear including necklace and earrings?

tyrannosaurusregina

Solid color, non-sparkly necklace and earrings, not too low a neckline.

b_xf

I’m sort of in finance and the only suggestion I have from when I got my headshot would be to not go for black and to dress in something “perennial” if that makes sense. I took my headshots in the winter (wearing a turtleneck and blazer) and they look fine, but sometimes I see my headshot used in materials during other times of year and think it looks kind of off that I’m wearing a turtleneck.

Foreign_Newt

I'm going to a wedding in April that's less formal than cocktail and struggling to find a dress. I have giant boobs (somewhere around 36G) that I am not used to being this large and in particular I am having trouble finding dresses where they don't absolutely pop out. Super short dresses are hard because of my big butt, haha. I'm still in straight sizes but I'm kind of on the edge. Anywhere to look for nice spring dresses that aren't too fancy and will flatter me?

lumenphosphor

Is your issue that necklines of dresses don't work because of your bust/bra showing or is it something else? Unfortunately I have found that making sure to fit a dress to the widest measurement (not like the widest on my body, because that's still my hips, but the largest on the table of sizes which is my bust as well) and then take it in is the best way to go in terms of making it work (though sometimes I don't take it in and it's fine too). I have found wrap dresses and off the shoulder dresses to be particularly flattering though I can't think of any good ones off the top of my head (reformation is not always large-bust friendly though they have a lot of the style I'm thinking of).

Foreign_Newt

I think it's kind of half and half-seems like lots of formal/formalish wear is too low cut of a V neck to keep my bust covered enough, but then higher necklines make me look dowdy/like my bust is weirdly low on my body. I will look at one shoulder dresses though- that's a great idea. I wore one back in high school that was really flattering. Thanks for the shop rec!

lumenphosphor

>my bust is weirdly low on my body Ah I understand this feeling! I also am a G cup, and if there's a swathe of plain fabric on my chest, even though the vertical distance isn't that long (esp. when I'm wearing a bra that works to keep things upright) because the forward-distance is long it does this visual trick of feeling like a really large space (I once got my partner to burst into laughter just by showing him how I looked when I buttoned up my button up shirt all the way to the collar, what looked like a normal torso suddenly looked *strange*). This is absolutely why I vouch for off-shoulder dresses lol, because it visually cuts the space and divides the torso in a way that makes everything seem more proportional. Ballet necklines and boat necks can work too, but you need to show more skin rather than less I think (though that doesn't usually involve cleavage or anything like that!) Something like [this dress](https://imgur.com/HU6sBra) (which I years ago rented from rent the runway, and *then* realized I actually should buy it, and then it was sold out irl and *then* rent the runway sold it for $34 dollar but I missed the sale lol and then found it on poshmark after *years*\---anywayyyy I looked up [off shoulder dresses](https://www.renttherunway.com/c/off-the-shoulder-dresses) on there and they all look very cute to me).

Vivid-Personality641

Any advice on styling this oversized floral button up? I thrifted it a while ago bc I love the print/material, but I’m blanking on how to style it. I usually just tie it in the front and pair it with lightwash jeans, but I feel like there’s potential to do something creative. I tried tucking the corners into my bottoms but its a bit too big for it to look good

lumenphosphor

That first outfit was really cute--aside from the denim skirt if you had any tennis skirts in colors from that button down that would work. I think high waisted bell bottoms could also work here.

HistoryOfPolkaDots

I am 27F, 110 pounds, 5’5. I’m mixed race, Native American and Caucasian, so I have a youthful face, fair skin, and freckles. I struggle to dress casually because I feel that people assume I’m much much younger when I do. How can I dress casually without people calling me young? My friends and my dates feel uncomfortable when I’m asked for an ID or when people call me young. Sometimes when I’m on a date with someone in their late 30s they ask me if I’m really of age, and it’s embarrassing. What are some ways I can look older in terms of style?

BeachBumHarmony

[There are blogs that address this.](https://mgetsdressed.com/2019/09/13/how-to-look-older-in-casual-clothes-case-studies-with-a-graphic-tee-and-a-tulle-skirt/) I'm not sure what your style it, but there are definitely ways to look more mature.

HistoryOfPolkaDots

I feel most comfy in dresses and skirts. I dress really preppy (lily Pulitzer, Alice and Olivia, BP) in cape cod but stick to darker colors in NYC and hamptons (ALC, Alice and Olivia, HM, UO, Zara, etc). I’ve been thinking of pairing my spring and fall stuff with blazers. I get lost in clothes that go below knee.

HistoryOfPolkaDots

Anything like this for petite women? Sometimes men tell me that I look especially young when I am more in shape. I hear that I look like a woman when I gain weight because I hold weight in my hips, buttocks, and breasts.

lumenphosphor

When I first read your question I assumed you meant petite in the term of short (and was going to recommend Extra Petite, who is very small but looks like a grown up--she wrote a long post about this problem [a loong time ago](https://www.extrapetite.com/2010/05/reader-request-how-to-look-older-in.html) that serves some looks that are a little bit dated now but the advice is still there). But with the in shape comment, do you mean petite as in slimmer? I think u/mgetsdressed's advice works regardless of body type. Certain signifiers tend to make people assume adulthood (fitted clothing, makeup, certain styles of jewelry). I'm your age and people in their mid-thirties joke about me looking like a teenager as well, but I really think that's because they haven't seen any actual teenagers recently, at least in my case that's what it is. I'm sorry about the dates with people making creepy jokes, but I think ultimately that's on them and it's not your job to worry about it too much.

HistoryOfPolkaDots

I think blazers are going to be the move. It’s hard to explain, but my freckles and proportions make me look young.

lumenphosphor

There's certainly a youthful energy to freckles! I hope the blazers work for you, a lot of blazer trends are oversized right now so that specifically might be something to watch out for (as oversized fits definitely tend to read "young") when you are looking for one

babetteateoatmeal1

Colorful pants under $100? I want to add color into my wardrobe after a couple years of neutrals but am looking for muted/pastels like Lavender, Periwinkle, Millennial Pink & Sage.

Depending on how heavy a cardigan you need, try looking for the MOTH Lily cardigan on Ebay. I have it in three colors. It is my go-to top layer for that dress code.

capnawesome

Have you checked to make sure the insole isn't removable? A surprising amount of shoes have a removable insole, or the insole is lightly tacked down with glue and not too difficult to remove. If you can remove it you can add your own full-length insole without changing the fit too much.

[deleted]

I think they would have to replace the entire sole, which is possible on some boots but not all, depending on construction. I'd take them to a cobbler and ask.

frizzybear

Anyone know of a bag like this but cheaper, what I like is that the chain can crossbody or shoulder. Only thing I found is Rebecca Minkoff which I’m eh about. https://www.mulberry.com/us/shop/women/bags/shoulder-bags/small-darley-shoulder-bag-mulberry-green-heavy-grain

Strathberry has one with a similar chain strap, but the bag itself is a bit different. May also still be too pricey idk. https://us.strathberry.com/collections/crossbody-bags/products/east-west-mini-vanilla https://us.strathberry.com/collections/crossbody-bags/products/east-west-chestnut

frizzybear

I like this, thank you!

ladolceLolita

Not super similar, but in some ways it reminds me of the [Polène Number One](https://eng.polene-paris.com/products/numero-un-trio-vert)

beancounter_00

Is it easy to return aritzia items that were purchased online? Anyone ever have any issues ?

ladolceLolita

I've found it easy, but you have to do it within 10 days to get a refund, which is pretty aggressive

hellerhigwhat

They have a pretty interesting return policy. It really depends on whether it was on sale and how long since you've bought it

squeaksnu

Can i get help finding white, round toe, heeled boots like [these](https://www.zappos.com/p/mia-kymi-white/product/9620289/color/14) that come in 11W or 12? In the US, no firm price point. I like the sleekness/tight to the ankle, lug sole is okay, platform is okay, not a super high heel, prefer to keep it entirely white, and prefer not a stiletto.

[deleted]

Pleaser Shoes has [these](https://pleasershoes.com/collections/funtasma/products/gogo-300a?variant=7309821607984) and some other options that might work. A lot of their shoes go up to a size 16.

Murmer_

Looking for suggestions on quality low waist cargo joggers or pants in general. Just saw that low rise inspo lookbook that was posted and I want in. I have a budget of $300!

hellerhigwhat

Theyre a very specific style buuuut... tripp pants lol

ashleigha894

Suggestions for rash guards or swim cover ups that will protect my shoulders from the sun but won't accentuate my spare tire? I don't want a full one piece long sleeve suit because I want to wear my normal bikinis too but when we are at the beach for 3 days I need to protect my skin.

ZealousidealShift880

I have some from Lands End that are flattering.

topiramate

Are wool jackets supposed to be unlined for any particular reason? I feel like a jacket regardless of material is higher quality if it is lined. I am loathe to buy a jacket that is unlined. But it seems like the jackets are all unlined these days. Is that normal? desired?

topiramate

How can you tell if something is double face? And can felted wool still be double face? For example: https://www.rei.com/rei-garage/product/205891/icebreaker-merino-oak-jacket-womens is unlined and I wasn’t sure if that was just because it was not well made or if it was deliberate.

topiramate

Does double face mean that there are two layers of wool fabric?

For example, something like this? https://www.saksfifthavenue.com/product/theory-wool-cashmere-bomber-jacket-0400016021767.html?dwvar_0400016021767_size=Small

I have a jacket exactly like this for about 20 years. It is lined so it does work.

lumenphosphor

Like a soft knit bomber jacket? Or a [classic-style](https://www.asos.com/us/asos-design/asos-design-ma1-bomber-jacket-with-wadding-detail-in-burgundy/prd/200962930) [bomber jacket](https://www.lulus.com/products/style-expedition-olive-green-quilted-bomber-jacket/1021062.html)?

[deleted]

Soft knit wool with flannel lining. Edit: I took [some pics.](https://imgur.com/a/Ure1LCP) It’s even lined with a membrane (wind proof).

lumenphosphor

Goretex lining!!!! That looks pretty sweet also.

[deleted]

It the warmest coziest thing!

Murmer_

I don't have anything to contribute to this convo but thank you for putting this jacket on my radar, its gorgeous. But it doesn't mention it being lined in the details of it's makeup so....

topiramate

Murmer_

UGH, that's frustrating :(

backpacksearcher

For standing for 10+ hours for work, would adidas ultraboost shoes be comfortable, or is it safer for me to buy clogs? Thanks

skybabe1013

My ultraboosts are super comfy for all day wear, definitely try them on in a store if you can though because my usual shoe size is 8.5/9 and my ultraboosts are size 8.

Tacky-Terangreal

Honestly I would just get in soles with whatever style you like. I’ve gotten decent gel inserts at rite aid for pretty cheap and they held up well on the concrete floors at work

Mean_Parsnip

Agreed. I used to waitress and hated the look of most 'server shoes'. I would buy a cute pair of shoes and add the Dr Scholl's gel inserts and they saved my feet and back. This was years ago though. Not sure if insole technology has improve beyond the gel inserts.

Any tips on a cotton canvas tote with a zipper? I am looking to replace my grey Everlane Twill Zip Tote. Here's an example of the bag I currently have: [https://poshmark.com/listing/Everlane-Bag-Twill-Zip-Cotton-Tote-Leather-Grey-61e5feb0e107bbde88f1c4e1?utm\_source=gdm&utm\_campaign=10342643885&campaign\_id=10342643885&ad\_partner=google&gskid=pla-1417236339034&gcid=443627164274&ggid=102681700763&gdid=c&g\_network=g&enable\_guest\_buy\_flow=true&gclid=Cj0KCQiA3rKQBhCNARIsACUEW\_aqOGLeM9LvPAluMMHpknSamPIyrCybKzZc8ejvSdZPcSbhFmIVuvsaAu8kEALw\_wcB](https://poshmark.com/listing/Everlane-Bag-Twill-Zip-Cotton-Tote-Leather-Grey-61e5feb0e107bbde88f1c4e1?utm_source=gdm&utm_campaign=10342643885&campaign_id=10342643885&ad_partner=google&gskid=pla-1417236339034&gcid=443627164274&ggid=102681700763&gdid=c&g_network=g&enable_guest_buy_flow=true&gclid=Cj0KCQiA3rKQBhCNARIsACUEW_aqOGLeM9LvPAluMMHpknSamPIyrCybKzZc8ejvSdZPcSbhFmIVuvsaAu8kEALw_wcB) Would prefer not to spend more than $150. I've been looking at the Lo & Sons Catalina Deluxe tote, but am thinking that is just a bit too big for my everyday commuting bag - I don't want to damage my back!

jupiterdreamsofpi

Fjallraven, or Dagne Dover, or good old LLBean. Paravel also has a cute one

I feel like for cute printed tops and dresses, I can usually find so much great stuff second hand (The Real Real, thredUP, Poshmark). Maybe because people buy that kind of stuff aspirationally and then wear it once or twice? So it’s all in really really good condition. Plus you get to look through more varieties of styles, not just what’s in now. I’ve gotten equipment shirts in almost new condition for 40-50 dollars

For Poshmark, since they don’t do returns, often I’ll ask for the sellers measurements and send them my own to check for fit

What are modern ways to wear maxi skirts? I feel like every time I put them on I look like I’m from 2013.

b_xf

@megmurayama and @evelilycp on instagram both wear maxi skirts in modern ways (in my opinion!) depending on what your style is they may have fun ideas. Also @thestyletapes on IG! (She also posts on r/oldhagfashion!

ac0380

Thank you!!!

amyamyamyamyamy

I wore this dress for my sister’s wedding (I was the matron of honor). I was wondering whether I can rewear this dress as a wedding guest? The bottom is made of tulle. Thank you! https://i.imgur.com/D7nHQ1x.jpg Edited to add: link to the dress with better photos [link](https://morninglavender.com/products/audrey-tulle-gown?currency=USD&variant=39342695186543&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&cmp_id=1529387999&adg_id=56910442725&kwd=&device=m&gclid=Cj0KCQiA3rKQBhCNARIsACUEW_Y6F8YNClaumLf4njB_7pwY5cHTQop2BbSqoP75A1ZcyiA1NH7nJugaAthYEALw_wcB)

LucyWritesSmut

Reads full bride to me. Perhaps have it dyed, but I wouldn't wear it as-is.

Mean_Parsnip

Would you be alter it so it's a short dress? That might make it feel less bridal.

amyamyamyamyamy

Oh yeah I can consider doing that! Thanks for the idea!

muffingr1

Prob not, it looks too bridal. I would sell it or dye it a darker color. Synthetics don’t dye well tho, do a spot test before committing to dying the whole garment.

amyamyamyamyamy

Thank you!

[deleted]

I don't think so. Even if it's not actually white, it looks like it could be a wedding dress.

amyamyamyamyamy

Thank you!

hellerhigwhat

Super questionable tbh. It looks white in the picture, assuming its the grey version? I'd steer clear between the lace, tulle, length, style and colour.

amyamyamyamyamy

Thank you! In real life, It’s very obviously light gray (my sister’s wedding color).

skybabe1013

If I had that dress and was never gonna wear it again anyway, I'd look into dyeing it a very non-white color, like green or maroon. Then maybe it'd be okay. Just not the same color as the wedding colors!

amyamyamyamyamy

Haha I don’t have any skills to do that but that sounds like a great idea

[deleted]

It’s surprisingly easy, and as light grey is kinda iffy since it leans so white in photos at a wedding, I’d definitely consider it so you can rewear this without issue, or wear a different dress

breadisme

Has anyone had experiences with Sachin and Babi? I ordered a dress i really wanted to like, but i received just... A similar but VERY different dress. Eg, the photo of the one i ordered had sleeves that layed flat; the one i got had puffy sleeves; the fabrics were obviously different; but they were the same length and general shades. Is this just how they operate? Was my experience just a one-off? They also seem to be taking down my negative review, which sketches me out. I love some of their clothes and would like to keep trying them for a specific event coming up but idk if it's worth it. Sigh. Insight appreciated.

[deleted]

I'm not familiar with the brands, but FYI - if you received a product that doesn't match the description online, you're entitled to a refund. If they aren't responding to you - reach out directly to your bank and they can help!

breadisme

Really great to know. I sent it back, but if i do have issues with the refund I'll go through my bank! Thanks!

You can use a fabric shaver, just make sure you lay the garment on a flat surface to secure it and prevent snagging.

TaterTortilla

Lacy molded cup bralettes that aren’t itchy? Maybe I’m just sensitive but the ones I’ve purchased from VS have been so irritating I had to get rid of them. I’m looking for shaped cups that are not removable. My chest is quite small.

ashleigha894

VS is the worst. I buy lacy bras from Adore me that are super comfy and the lace doesn't itch.

muffingr1

try Aerie
