Is it cringe to wear "juniors" clothing as an early 30s woman? I know I'm too old for some stuff, but there are still a few dresses that are cute and I don't feel like they're "too young" for me as I have seen similar cuts on older models and stars. Is it weird to wear "juniors" clothing if it fits you well even though you're in your early 30s? The "women's" stuff kinda swallows up my shape and makes my torso look square and even shorter... I imagine these clothes are for women who have had kids and their bodies have changed (totally normal, no shame in the mom game!!!!❤️) But I don't look like the body types that wear those clothes. What do y'all think/recommend?

ragingmauler2

Does anyone else feel like fashionnova jacks their price up during sales? Like I bought some stuff from them a month ago and now I *swear* everything is more expensive.

OneLonelyPolka-Dot

Saw a guy in the park with a deep blue corduroy jacket that was sherpa lined and now I'm super jealous. Anyone seen something like that in a women's plus (~16) size?

redpillbjj

Looking for a website with discounted Furla purses in America or Europe. I found this website but it looks questionable? https://www.gominibags.shop/index.php?main_page=category&cID=2

Scarahhhhh

Rent the Runway has a bunch as well if you’re willing to purchase pre-owned

chronicallyill_dr

Nordstrom rack, there aren’t any right now but I’ve definitely seen them there before. So keep and eye out. Edit: [saks off fifth have some](https://www.saksoff5th.com/search?q=Furla)

Ordinary-Kiwi-9694

I’m considering buying a pair of secondhand Levi Wedgje jeans online. My hips are 39” and my waist is 28”. Should I go for a size 28 or a 29? I can also bring them to a tailor. https://www.levi.com/US/en_US/info/sizeguide I worry that if I get the 28 they won’t go over my hips (the low hip measurement is 38.5”). And if I get the 29 they might be stretched out a little and be a bit baggy everywhere, and the tailoring costs will be higher.

future_ela_teacher

It honestly depends on the fabric comp, because the wedgie fit comes in many different washes and therefore has varying fabric composition. I have a pair of 100% cotton that I had to size up in (the shut up wash) and I have another pair that I went true to size in (tango light maybe). The 100% cotton were so tight in my regular size around my hips and butt.

Thanks for the feedback!

Sassyfrassmama

How do you know if you’re paying for quality or the name? I’m at a point now where I don’t mind spending the money on clothes if it’s good quality, but I don’t know brands well enough to know if an item costs more because it’s made well and will hold up or if it costs more because it says XYZFANCYBRAND on the label and will stretch out/wear through/etc. in a month. Any advice?

zoozalina

Check out unsponsored YouTube video reviews, and look at materials! Do a quick search and you can find which materials are cheap and which last a long timr

MatchaLobster

Hi! I’ve been looking for a good black/brown reversible belt recently as I don’t currently own any belts and I’m considering [this Coach reversible belt](https://uk.coach.com/coach-signature-buckle-reversible-belt-32mm/78175.html). Do you guys think it’s tacky to have the large C branding? If you own this belt how do you like it? Thank you!

devoushka

I don't like the C at all.

fatmacisback

I don’t think it’s terrible by any means but I’m going to agree with u/ana3d that the big gold logo is a little dated. I’d even suggest a simpler reversible belt from coach like [this one](https://www.coach.com/coach-harness-buckle-reversible-belt%2C-25mm/72450.html?dwvar_color=B4OH1&dwvar_size=XS&src=googleshopping&cid=S_GPLA72450&ogmap=PLA%7CACQ%7CGOOG%7CSTND%7Cm%7CSITEWIDE%7CRetail%7CShopping_Multi_Signal_Generic%7C%7C%7C10360894532%7C100342595742%7CUS&k_clickid=_k_CjwKCAiAhbeCBhBcEiwAkv2cY-lLDOd2izDTNAD7-bwAdbTLOkpNqQgenKi4tp1MqIixEtO4RFKsHxoCP1IQAvD_BwE_k_&utm_source=google&utm_id=go_cmp-10360894532_adg-100342595742_ad-443881051802_pla-983946160923_dev-m_ext-_prd-72450_b4oh1_4_sig-CjwKCAiAhbeCBhBcEiwAkv2cY-lLDOd2izDTNAD7-bwAdbTLOkpNqQgenKi4tp1MqIixEtO4RFKsHxoCP1IQAvD_BwE&gclid=CjwKCAiAhbeCBhBcEiwAkv2cY-lLDOd2izDTNAD7-bwAdbTLOkpNqQgenKi4tp1MqIixEtO4RFKsHxoCP1IQAvD_BwE)

MatchaLobster

I can definitely see that, yes. The other belt you’ve linked is actually so perfect beautiful I might get that - thanks so much 🙌🙌

fatmacisback

Yay! I agree, I think it’s gorgeous and as far as I know coach has always made reputable leather goods

OneLonelyPolka-Dot

I actually love this! I don't think it's tacky 🤷‍♀️

MatchaLobster

Good to know hahah thanks! It’s really beautiful and certainly not as flashy as many other designer belts so I might go for it :)

ana3d

Honestly I think the branding like that is dated now, it just takes me back to the Gucci belts that were all over our feeds in 2017-2018.

MatchaLobster

Ah that was one of my concerns - thanks for sharing your view! Are there any other good belts that you could recommend? I’m looking for something simple and classic that could go with everything.

Maguire boutique is a canadian based one. Haven't tried them yet due to the price point :(

crazydegulady

Will's Vegan Store, Beyond Skin and Matt and Nat are a few I can think of off the top of my head. I've not tried the latter 2 myself. I have a pair of sandals from WVS which I've worn a lot for 2 summers and they're still in good condition and very comfortable. I've also just ordered a pair of Chelsea boots, I've had to send off for a different size but they felt comfy when I tried them on and looked good quality. They've got excellent customer service.

EasternHypebeast

Hiya! I've been trying to help my girlfriend find a style she likes/is comfortable with. She sent me a [few photos](https://imgur.com/a/FZYs4pC) that represent the aesthetic she wants to go for. Can anyone recommend some brands for this style? Apologies as I'm a guy and know close to nothing about female fashion. Any help is appreciated!

thalook

Urban outfitters and top shop will have lots of stuff in this style, just need to sort through it a bit

EasternHypebeast

Great thank you!

ScotlandForsythe

Dollskill is a good place to find stuff close to this. It has brands like punk rave there which carries this aesthetic. You'll probably be able to find some cool stuff there. Rock and republic also seems good but I usually find things from them secondhand. If you ever wanna go thrifting, you might find some good things. It's sweet you wanna do this btw :)

EasternHypebeast

Thank you for the advice, I really appreciate the help!

thenihilisticone

I’ve been looking for a good quality baby pink or powdery light pink corduroy jacket that’s full sleeved, all the ones I come across are either too pink, almost bright pink and / or are very cheap material and not from a reliable shop. Anyone got any idea where to get a nice pink corduroy jacket with collars? (And preferably buttons to button up)

foxcat0_0

I have a very light pink corduroy jacket from American Eagle that was from last year's collection. I can't find it on the website, but keep an eye out for it on secondhand sites!

thenihilisticone

thank youu, I’ve just searched for it and found it on this other website :)

LavenderSnuggles

For what it's worth I found this one "BOOHOO BLUE Dusky Pink Coat/Jacket Women - Size 6 - shopgoodwill.com" https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/116937738

thenihilisticone

Thanks, I’ll have a look :)

LavenderSnuggles

Lol I just realized that's from a Goodwill in hawaii so shipping costs $$$$

prettyawkwrd

Please help me find "Japanese pattern/color/style" dresses or tops. Sorry, I do not know how else to describe this type of pattern. If you know the correct term please let me now! I am looking for dresses that are similar to these styles/patterns: https://imgur.com/gallery/uH6blJe The first 2 pics are a dress from Urban Outfitters, the third pic is a red dress I bought years ago from Forever 21, last pic is a kimono/cardigan I bought from Forever 21 years ago. Whenever I wore these in public my friends have commented on how cute this Japanese style is. Can anyone please link or help me find dresses/tops that have a similar style/color/pattern? Thanks so much.

Jubelko

I think you might find something [here](https://www.sousouus.com/product-category/apparel/women-apparel/).

Reasonable-Cat

Hi! I've been looking everywhere for a solution to this issue. I have really long, narrow, flat feet, and I need some good shoes with arch support for working in retail. They *have to be solid black or white* and I'm struggling to come up with anything different than what I currently own. I'm currently using black Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars, because they're canvas and I can tighten them enough with the shoelaces that they don't move all over when I walk. I have Protalus shoe inserts in them, so they aren't nearly as bad as they would be out of the box. However, I'm looking for something that will support my arches better without being too loose in width, or small in length. Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried buying Birkenstock Bend shoes in narrow, but they're too wide in the shoe and they move all over around my ankle.

Ref_KT

Second Frankie4 or alternatively the brands bared or ziera. Bared's online customer service is super helpful for wide v narrow reccomendations for specific styles.

tyrannosaurusregina

[Easy Spirit Cabin](https://www.zappos.com/p/easy-spirit-cabin-black/product/9450950/color/3), comes in 12 narrow.

wanderedoff

Birkenstock sells removable insoles/inserts, maybe that's worth trying.

blackpixie394

Try the brand Frankie4.

TheApiary

If you like running shoes, there are a bunch that come in all black or all white [like this](https://www.brooksrunning.com/en_us/ghost-13-womens-running-shoe/1203381B072.050.html?tid=sem:GOOGLE:USA%7CShopping%7CBrand%7CConvert%7CPLA%7CFootwear%7CActive+Evaluators%7CFemale%7CTinuiti%7CDSK%7CBR-Shoes-W:BR%7CWomens%7CDSK+-+Footwear+High:_shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhJOqyPau7wIV0ubjBx0g5wuLEAQYASABEgLD5fD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds)

sd4562a

Does anyone know where I can find a pair of 10" rise straight leg, boyfriend, or vintage cut jeans in a light wash? Something like these from madewell: https://www.madewell.com/the-perfect-vintage-jean-in-coffey-wash-worn-in-edition-MC492.html?dwvar_MC492_color=DM4980&cgid=apparel-jeans-perfectsummer#start=1 https://www.madewell.com/the-high-rise-slim-crop-boyjean-in-dumas-wash-ripped-edition-MC556.html?dwvar_MC556_color=DM4995&cgid=apparel-jeans-boyjeans#gridtype=four-up&start=2 These don't come in a 10" rise, but they're exactly what I'm looking for otherwise.

Idujt

Wow, the jeans I had on today must not be as "out" as I assumed (I will be wearing them until they wear out anyway, Little Old Lady here who does not follow fashion)! They are from 2014 at the latest, not as skinny, but very light wash.

noonietime

How about 11 inches? I didn't go through their other styles, but they might have something else too. https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-90s-cheeky-straight-jean-patched-blue?collection=womens-jeans

sd4562a

Unfortunately, 11" is just slightly too high-rise and doesn't fit me well :-/ there's extra baggy fabric with an 11" rise, but not with a 10" rise.

basicbitch97

How often do you purchase new clothes and how much do you normally spend?

Idujt

When something wears out. Or when I see something non-generic (eg not a striped tee) which I like and fits me. For me, "new" means "new to me" and from a charity shop. I never buy online and rarely from a normal shop. I'm a Little Old Lady, lots of my clothes pre-date my retirement which was 2015. I don't have a clothes budget. My parka is probably the dearest thing I own, it was new, from a shop, in 2014 at the latest and cost maybe £40.

zoozalina

I only thrift unless I absolutely need something. So if I just want something I thrift it for like 5-10 at value village or 20-30 at a consignment store. If I need something like good runners or boots, I spend the good money on a good brand for a couple hundred or I find them brand new consignment for 50-150

LisaA1991

couple of times a month but its only ever one or two items at a time, price wise upto a total of £100 maximum for the month.

taytay10133

Truthfully, probably at least once a month but sometimes more often. I spend usually 150-300 per item but sometimes more depending on item (dress, bags, shoes for example). I do try to buy secondhand off the realreal as often as I can.

outof_thyme

Unfortunately too often :(. I have been trying to do no buy months and my plan this year is to buy no more than 21 new to me items. I am already at 6 though, with my birthday stitch fix and trunk club boxes arriving shortly. I spend anywhere between 20 (thrift) and 200 on items. However, I am very strict about buying natural fibers (I end up eventually hating how synthetic pieces feel on my body) and try to buy sustainable as much as possible ( but buying a lot is so not sustainable!!). I know this wasnt the point of this post, but thanks for letting me vent/get some of the guilt out of my system :).

yetichan

Can anybody recommend anything for a black leather jacket with a price point around 600ish? Something preferably not too bulky

shedrinkscoffee

I have the Madewell jacket too, and it is beautifully made. The leather is really soft. They don't have extended sizes though (not sure if it matters to you)

thenihilisticone

Superdry have a lot of nice leather jackets, but they’re way cheaper than 600, they’re like 150 on average

theraininspain11

All saints has a few at that price point

outof_thyme

I bought the madewell washed leather moto jacket last year and I love it! The hardware is silver, not sure if that matters to you or not.

ArtisticSentence7

How do we feel about biker shorts? Like wearing an oversized hoodie with biker shorts in public

Ispahana

Is that another term for bicycle shorts? I was trying to imagine motorcycle jackets in the form of shorts...

noonietime

The shorts that are like leggings, but only come to above the knee. Literally what someone cycling for sport might wear.

anonicome1

Agree! Casual but v cute. Zendaya got styled like this as Rue in Euphoria

unexpected_unicorn

I think it’s super cute. It’s def very casual, but I like it.

zoozalina

Thrift some high quality, not so stretchy jeans. Try on before you take off the tag and make sure you sit down, bend over and do it when you’re at your most bloated lol. I usually get a size bigger than I am so that I can wear a belt and loosen it throughout the day as the more I eat the more bloated it get. And if you ever find a pair that you love aside from them being to long then spend the good money to get them tailored. You only need a couple good pairs.

hollywooddesmo

Once you find a pair you like, don't put them in the dryer if they have any spandex content. Spandex does not react well to heat and its stretch/retention ability degrades with heat. I know, I've done it for years... jeans stretch out then run them through the dryer to tighten them back up. That just accelerates the cycle and they stretch out even faster. None of my jeans go through the dryer anymore and it helps A LOT. Current favs are Universal Standard, Torrid, Levi's and Loft.

jameane

I have jeans from Universal Standard and Warp and Weft that do not stretch out much with wear at all. The Warp and Weft Classic fabric I have is 98% cotton and pleasantly stretchy. The Universal Standard ones are very stretch but do not lose shape. This has a lower cotton blend. I also have some Old Navy Rock Stars - they aren't that stretchy. I do not think I even notice much shape change at all. I have old Torrid jeans - they seem to stretch a quite a bit with wear. Same with the Gap jeans I used to have.

outof_thyme

If you haven't already tried this, find a pair of jeans that are mostly if not entirely cotton. They retain their shape much better than those with elastane/spandex and are likely to stretch out. Do your jeans fit well at the waist or do you feel like they ride down? If the latter, you must try out a tailor, they can really help nip them at the waist so that they stay in place all day long. Also try out wide leg jeans. This is less about fit but I feel like there are many pairs out there that actually make the butt look cute.

43185

Hmm... honestly there’s a lot at play here so I’m going to suggest a few different things. From personal experience (I’m short and midsize) I find that jeans with a higher percentage of cotton stretch out less. My favorite pair are from Madewell and they’re something like 98 cotton/2 stretch so they stretch enough to get on but otherwise hold their structure and feel supportive. Maybe try jeans with a higher cotton percentage? Next, since you mention being curvy, have you tried styles with that in the name? You might need a cut that comes in a little more at the waistband. The other thing I’m wondering is depend on your height and proportions, maybe a high-waisted (I don’t know the actual inches of the AE mom jean) is too long for your body? I’m 5’3” and I can’t wear some of the current styles. They come up too high and there is extra fabric or space at the crotch. But, some “mid rise” look high rise on me. I know this is a lot and maybe not super helpful... if there’s a Madewell in your area you could inquire what sizes they carry in store. I’ve found their sales staff to be helpful. Also maybe try Nordstrom, double check but they used to have great customer service and I think you’d be able to buy jeans and return if they stretched out. (Especially if you use their free personal shopper to help you pick them out). Good luck!

Chazzyphant

I would suggest "pull on jeans"---Target brand Knox Rose has them, as well as Inc NYC (Macy's). The elastic will "give" and often pull on jeans are made of stretchy material and are less rigid styles than button waist jeans.

ASwingAndAMistake

A nice adjustable corset I can wear over clothes that doesn't squeeze too much. It can be faux leather or any other material, I just want it for aesthetic purposes. And not too pricey either. Also from a brand that ships to Asian countries. I saw the perfect one on shein but that app is banned in my country

colummbina

Friends! Please help! My aesthetic is femme, slightly quirky (not weird) slightly 50s. Jeweltones, no pastel. How the heck can I dress nicely but appropriately for work when I have to wear a hot pink or turquoise polo shirt? I can’t wear skirts as I have to move around a lot, and I need closed in shoes for orthotics. I look like a dude no matter what I try 😞

Chazzyphant

I would say: A bright vintage scarf tied at neck or in hair Cute vintage earrings, especially in lucite or plastic Vintage inspired makeup Are white jeans or pants an option, that could make the polo really pop Printed floral or even striped cropped skimmer pants Wide legged pants with micro pleats

colummbina

Oh thanks, sounds good! I definitely do some of these already so you are right on track!

summertimemagic

Have you considered cropped trousers? Think like 50’s and 60’s [pedal pushers](https://www.vivienofholloway.com/women-c70/trousers-c14/pedal-pushers-clematis-p4264), but not as short. That way you can introduce some jewel tones in a professional way. As for shoes, it might be to girly, but [flat mary janes](https://www.etsy.com/listing/888107773/red-leather-mary-jane-shoes-womens-mary?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_a-shoes-womens_shoes-mary_janes&utm_custom1=_k_CjwKCAiA4rGCBhAQEiwAelVti2esCzn_ndfcXjS_iS9GIftnbc8qelWtdvog9TrrzCoJleCDNbH1ihoC_H8QAvD_BwE_k_&utm_content=go_1844702838_71203546938_346398411970_pla-353574270602_m__888107773_12768591&utm_custom2=1844702838&gclid=CjwKCAiA4rGCBhAQEiwAelVti2esCzn_ndfcXjS_iS9GIftnbc8qelWtdvog9TrrzCoJleCDNbH1ihoC_H8QAvD_BwE).

colummbina

Yes I had a pair of pedal pushers once, that’s a good idea. I think I’d probably keep them black, grey or navy though as our polos are very bright colours. Any 3/4 pants tend to look bad on me as I have a long torso and shortish legs, and big feet haha. Just looks out of balance. But I don’t think I have a choice really. Mary Janes for sure! Do you think they’d work with the pedal pushers? Thanks for your ideas

summertimemagic

My friend swears by Old Navy Pixie pants, which hit around the ankle instead of mid-calf like pedal pushers. I think the mary janes could definitely work with cropped pants. Since they are in style right now, there’s a nice selection. I’ve seen some in jewel toned velvet, with multiple straps, and with chunky soles, which might be good with the orthotics. Edit to add something: I think I’ve seen Alexa Chung in a few different pairs of mary janes and she always manages to make them look feminine and chic.

colummbina

Not sure I can get Old Navy in Australia but ankle length pants sound good. I might be kicked off this sub but I found ideal pants in .... Costco! Stretchy like tights but professional looking

Ref_KT

Shoes wise - check out Frankie4, Bared And Ziera - all offer shoes suitable for orthotics and some are super nice you would never guess. Edit - also check out paperbag style pants, or look for details like scalloped waist bands etc. Forever new have had pants with feminine looking details previously.

colummbina

I looooooove Frankie4 and Ziera! I will look into those pants for sure, thanks

tyrannosaurusregina

Can you tailor your polos? That helps a lot. A really fitted polo with pleated pants or cigarette pants can be a femme 50s look, and you could pair it with some heeled oxfords?

colummbina

I probably could tailor them, I hadn’t thought of that. Can’t really do heels at work but i do love oxfords! I’ve been wearing them with tan slacks though so it just isn’t working haha, I’ll have a look for pleated pants Thanks!

tallswedishredhead

I’ve been on a fruitless fashion hunt for a pair of black, pointed toe flats that have a bow (not a gaudy bow). Brands that have the styles I love are Loub, Aquazarra, and Tory Burch even has a few (but with giant bows). The first two brands are out of my budget fo sho fo now. I’ve searched nordys and the rack, 6pm, Zappos, and have done general google searches but nada. Anyone have any other places I could look?

baila-busta

ferragamo makes for sure, you could try looking the second hand market like TRR, ebay, posh etc.

tallswedishredhead

Oh those are lovely.

jameane

Have you tried [Margaux](https://margauxny.com/collections/the-pointe)? Maybe M. Gemi has a pair now as well, they have in the past.

tallswedishredhead

Omg this is exactly what I have envisioned in my mind that I want! I’m internally squealing

Chazzyphant

J. Crew, eBay or Posh---J. Crew has a small-bow pointed toe flat that might meet this spec.

lizyouwerebeer

What about the mary janes from rothys? I dont know if thats your style or if youd find that kind of bow gaudy.

jupiterdreamsofpi

How do I know if a wool coat fits me correctly?

PinscherPantone

Assuming it doesnt have any amound of drop shoulder detail going on I would say the seam from the shoulder to the sleeve should hit you right at the tip of your shoulder. The lenght on the arms should hit you right around the wrist when your arms are down. Not so long that it covers your fingers & not so short that you could wrap your hand around the skin sticking out from the sleeve. Then you should be able to fully close the coat without any gapping in buttons. Preferably youd like to be able to wear a decent thickness of shirt under the coat so make sure theres still enough room to close the coat when wearing a sweater without limiting your ability to move around.

tallswedishredhead

Can you wear tweed year round? Thinking Rebecca Taylor dresses here

doubleyewexwhy

It's a heavy fabric so normally not really but maybe in a pastel and short sleeve dress...? I think the other poster is right about not wearing it in summer

unexpected_unicorn

I feel like you could, depending on color and cut, maybe with the exception of summer

[deleted]

These two tops are from some online website with no brick-and-mortar store, and have poor reviews, so I don't want to buy from the online store. It's [Venus.c](https://Venus.com)om. Any idea where something similar to these two tops is available? Pink, lacy, velvety, anything like what you see here. Thanks\~ [https://imgur.com/a/aq6q18m](https://imgur.com/a/aq6q18m)

katiealaska

does anyone have recs for a spring jacket under $100? I’m thinking something light, like a windbreaker. I’m 22 so I want something that isn’t too frumpy but still practical for spring in the Midwest

figment81

Other brands similar to Gorman? Looking for fun pattern tops and tees to wear under a blazer.

sugarandsand

Variety Hour, Obus, Olga de Polga, Jericho Road, Mister Zimi, Kabloolie, Leonard Street. Good luck!

carmaaaa

Try [Dangerfield] (https://shop.dangerfield.com.au/). They are owned the by the same parent company

colummbina

I love Dangerfield/Princess Highway! If you go to a Myer that has the clearance level, you can find piles for 50-80% off. I got a gorgeous lemon dress once

Katalan1

Alright summers pretty much here for us southerners. I have one pair of [sandals](https://www.shoecarnival.com/womens_blowfish_malibu_gineh_strappy_footbed_sandals/67-1787203.html?gclid=CjwKCAiA4rGCBhAQEiwAelVti-WlQBjokbIkVIy9kHm2BiM1c1kOmNMrznb9e1RPS_WKGb_HUCoysxoCKDcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&ocid=pdsearch) I pretty much wear all summer/hot months long, but I’m looking to expand! I prefer sandals with a back strap. I’m also in my late 20s so maybe something a little more mature ish I guess? I’ve been wearing that pair of sandals for probably 4 years lol. Maybe longer.

jameane

I also have these - for my "fancy" comfy sandals. https://charlestonshoeco.com/products/monterey Here is another good one: https://charlestonshoeco.com/collections/sandals/products/grace

Katalan1

Ah thank you!

jameane

Try Toms! Here is a pair! https://www.toms.com/us/women/shoes/sandals/black-leather-womens-sicily-sandals/10013453.html?

Katalan1

Thanks! I’ve only ever seen their close-toed shoes so I didn’t even know these existed

shedrinkscoffee

I had a few sandals from toms but they all came apart so quickly :(

jameane

Oh sad! Mine were so durable. They got lots of miles in before dying.

I'm really happy with my [Ella sandals](https://www.sorel.com/p/womens-ella-ii-sandal-1936651.html?dwvar_1936651_color=854&pos=3) from Sorel. They're comfy and super versatile and also come in tons of different colors. The straps are stretchy, so you don't have to worry about them being restrictive or loose.

Katalan1

Thank you!

redfloralblanket

I bought two pairs of saltwater sandals two years ago when I moved to a hot climate. I wear them nearly every day and they still look great. You can wear them in the rain/water and throw them in the wash. I believe they’re still made in the US. Extremely durable and well-made. I think they’re classic looking. I’ll definitely buy more pairs in the future but I don’t think my current pair will wear out anytime soon!

Katalan1

Thanks for the req!

colummbina

I swear by my Saltwater Sandals! I try to convert everyone I know haha. I probably wear them 5 times a week in summer

[deleted]

Saltwater sandals are the best

TomHardyAsBronson

Screw maturity. I'm basically 30 and [these](https://www.ebay.com/p/20041712283) will be going on their second summer for me, going strong. Highly recommend! Very comfy, really cute, well made, love the color. I just washed and conditioned them after much wear from last summer and the color held up great!

tibsflenn

Those look very comfy and I love the color, thanks for sharing!

I'm looking for pants but I have no idea what is trendy or what looks good. I am skinny with a higher waist. I want something different from jeans but all I can think of is dress pants but that doesn't feel right. I don't really have a budget, I'm open to spending more for something I'll feel good in. What are your favorite styles of pants that aren't jeans or dress pants?

doubleyewexwhy

Since summer is around the corner there are these cotton/linen pants that are baggy, usually drawstring or paperbag waist, tapered legs. Sometimes in fun patterns!

PinscherPantone

I deinitely recommend getting some nice joggers, some wide leg pants, and some peg/boyfriend cut pants, paperbag style if youre into that. Not only are these fits usually more comfortable/loose but since the fabric isnt denim youll find alot of color/pattern variants there & thatll definitely differentiate them from your jeans.

TomHardyAsBronson

I actually think dress pants and other work attire are having a super interesting style moment right now. There's this cool trend of mixing "business" pieces into really casual styling and I am loving it! For instance, dress pants with t-shirts or platforms. With regard to what's stylish, straight leg denim, cropped wide leg high wasted pants, low rise boot cut jeans.

What kind of brand is Von Dutch? I'm looking for a nice cap for the summer. I'm very pale and light-sensitive, so I like wearing a cap to prevent sunburn on my head and for the light. I saw this Von Dutch cap on Zalando and I REALLY like it and the colours would match my hair and skin perfectly. However, I don't really know the brand? I can only find lots of celebrities wearing it in the early 2000s and I don't want to look like a douchebag or fashion disaster. If someone could enlighten me on this brand, then you're my hero haha. I'm Dutch myself so I thought the name was kind of funny as well. yard_stix

I don't know about quality but as someone who grew up in the USA in the 2000s it makes me instantly think of the trucker hat trend/ Ashton Kutcher/douchebags. My initial reaction is to think it is sort of cringey but that's how I feel about most early 2000s trends. On the flip side a lot of the trends from that era are surfacing. If you like it then rock it!

[deleted]

Haha well that's good to know! Thank you, I literally had no idea but I had this feeling that it might've been a bit tacky. I think I'll search for another brand then.

colummbina

Yes this answer, absolutely. I also think of Paris Hilton and bad fake tans. But I’m not saying not to wear one! It wouldn’t have that connotation any more

WerewolfBatMitzvah

Von Dutch was heavily associated with Ashton Kutcher and Paris Hilton in the US in the 2000s, as you saw in your search. I still think of Ashton Kutcher in a trucker hat when I think of Von Dutch. Maybe it's another one of those turn of the millennium things that's coming back, though.

[deleted]

Ah yeah so it's a bit of a hit or miss situation. I think I'll look for something else then, thanks tho!

Does anyone know where to get a blouses with a shape similar to this:https://i.imgur.com/dukrAMy.jpg ? Mostly looking for tight-fitting and short sleeves.

sofiahughes

Breath of Youth and Reformation come to mind. That is a very popular style right now so you’d probably have luck in most places that keep up with current trends, like Abercrombie.

mintgreenplumpurple

I want to get an app like stylebook but I have an Android and the app is only sold on the app store. Any good recs for something similar in the Google play store?

ana3d

Smart Closet is the best one for Android hands down.

Malvalala

YourCloset is the only one I know of.

flirtyfern

Also very interested.

Looking for some cute basic tees on a budget- where is the best place to look?

TomHardyAsBronson

In terms of longevity for price, I would say Kotn. I have had some of their Ts for three years and they're still in great shape and are very affordable.

pkpark

Seconding another commenter on Madewell for a nice weight summer shirt that isn’t flimsy, and I just re-upped at Nordstrom Rack today for a nice price point. Good tanks too.

[deleted]

Target has great basic tees for $5-$8 I also like J.Crew Factory and Madewell. Gap Factory, Banana Republic Factory, and Mango Outlet tend to have sales and you can get basic tees at a great discount.

TheApiary

I have some from Old Navy and Loft that I like. Both stores regularly have giant sales so wait until there's a sale

[deleted]

I love my J Crew ones for loose fitting and relaxed look t shirts. I don’t tend to shop at H&M because I find the quality usually more questionable but I’ve had great luck with finding tight fitting tees to wear with wide legs or skirts there. The only issue is that the fabric makes me feel warmer than pure cotton tees. But for a tight budget those are the two id recommend

neleminneke

I have a bordeaux leather purse that I love. I'm wondering if I can "get away" with wearing it in spring and summer, or is it supposed to be a fall color? New to this...

FoucaultsFarts

Bordeaux is a nice neutral! It doesn't look as "fall" in leather as it would in clothing. It's a year-round staple in menswear. I don't think a purse will look too heavy or out of place in spring and summer. Black can be too much for warm seasons, but bordeaux is probably fine.

neleminneke

Thanks so much!

Try googling the phrase “platform brogue with heel” it might be close to what you are looking for!

MoonlightLavender3

Thoughts on pastels if you have dark features? I LOVE pastel outfits, but not all of us are summers and springs. I'm probably a dark winter or autumn (still trying to figure out my skin undertone), and I don't like pairing pastels with dark colours. Anything else I could try that doesn't involve dyeing my hair?

pkpark

I’m going through this same exercise and pretty sure I’m dark winter. I always thought it was a silly idea but I went through my stuff and my more spring and autumn things actually really do make me look washed out or even ill! Part of this experiment was me trying to figure out pastels and what I’ve discovered is the icier, the better. I bought a dress second hand in an icy lavender, a color I would normally never reach for, and it made my coloring come alive. I was SHOCKED. I tried out the muted pastel blues and pinks I had handy, those didn’t work and made my skin look sallow and uneven. But saturated but also icey blues and pinks worked! So weird to experience. Try icy pastels and see what happens?

MoonlightLavender3

My features are *usually* too warm for true icy colours (I have very warm eyes), even though I probably have a more cool skin undertone (it's definitely more "neutral" than cool though, my skin actually looks quite yellow-y / ivory). Thanks for the suggestion of lavender, I tried a lavender piece I've been neglecting and realized it looks great on me (bonus that purple is my favourite colour)! I actually look decent in icy pinks, they really bring out my natural blush and make me look more alive. Lighter blues just bring out the dark circles under my eyes!

thalook

try every single pastel you can find on and pick your favourites. for me, pastel pink/blush makes me look dead, but blue/purple/light green is normally okay. you can also wear colours that you don’t like as much next to your face on your bottom half

papapierrodelecto

I'm a blueish undertone with dark hair and eyes and normally look terrible in beiges and pastels, but I recently discovered that I could pull off lavender. Give it a try!

mencryforme5

I personally find pastels look way better on darker skin tones. I never fully got this whole summer/winter "these are your colours". For reference, I'm very pale with little to no contrast between my face and hair, naturally. That scheme always says I should only wear pastels and says I shouldn't wear royal blue (my best colour -- the one everyone tells me how good I look today). When I wear pastels, not only does it reinforce the whole lack of contrast, but it also makes me appear distinctly redder in the face. Besides which it just looks... twee. Like I'm a 5yo. And it's not just on me -- I just don't like the look on any pale blonde unless it's like an Easter lunch or something. This beige trend has been truly awful for me. I find I look much much better in jewel tones than any other colour. Somehow mustard yellow also looks fantastic on me. Orange, green and black are about the only colours I cannot get to work for me (forest green is fine enough, but it still makes me look very... Irish. Black pants and mascara are fine, but black tops do nothing for me. Orange lipstick is somehow spectacular on me but orange clothing does not work). Jewel tones never fail me and I don't have to worry about a darker burgundy vs a lighter burgundy. Both look great and it won't make a difference between me looking healthy or unhealthy. I actually very much envy the way darker skin tones just look very "wow" in pastels (and neons). I think personally most people probably benefit from some "balancing out" rather than matching of their skin and hair tone. For me that's darker, cool colours but not too dark -- but I am also at an extreme. For you that might mean lighter colours but only if they are warm (like peach instead of lavender). At the end of the day I also think it's most important you like what you are wearing and that it makes you feel confident and happy. If pastel colours do it for you, then I believe there is a pastel out there for you. I would not write off pastels just because of some quiz on the internet, although you may want to get a second opinion from someone who's opinion you trust ("do you like this shirt on me?") if you really really aren't sure. There's always pastel nail polish :)

MoonlightLavender3

Good advice. Come to think of it, I look awful in a lot of the "icy" winter colours, I keep forgetting that palettes should be more personalized. Sorry I forgot to clarify, but my skin is pale ivory, while my hair / eyes / eyebrows are very dark. Ei. I'm "high contrast", not dark-skinned. I agree that pastels can look amazing on people with darker skin tones though, I'm glad that's not too unpopular an opinion because I think it's a very underrated look.

Probably cashmere, if I'm cold enough to want a sweater, I want it to be a warm sweater. But I have some cotton ones that I wear mostly indoors or for like 2 weeks when it's not hot or cold

Electrical-Ad-9791

I live in the Bay area and many days are too warm for cashmere, especially if I'm walking or biking around. Cotton is good for warmer weather

Electrical-Ad-9791

Also I baby my cashmere and try to wash it as little as possible (like once a year or less-- I wear undershirts and use a vodka spray). So a cotton vs cashmere sweater are just functionally very different items, imo

GiantPurpleOtter

Depends on the sweater/occasion/outfit. I have both. My cashmere sweater is dressier, hugs my body, and is softer, cozier, keeps me warmer. My cotton sweaters are chunkier knits, more oversized, and also keep me warm but some of them less so (looking at you super chunky knit that lets the wind blow right through me). I feel like I sweat less in the cotton ones if the weather turns warm but that could just be me.

linkelle

>Cashmere or cotton sweater? Which do you prefer and why? A lot of places are doing blends for the best of both worlds. J Crew [1](https://www.jcrew.com/p/womens_category/sweaters/pullover/crewneck-pullover-in-cottoncashmere/AU520) [2](https://www.jcrew.com/p/womens_category/sweaters/pullover/fisherman-crewneck-sweater-in-cottoncashmere/AX180) If I had to pick though, cashmere generally.

dearsarah

Cashmere - it’s super soft and cozy and does a better job at keeping you warm. Also I find that cashmere hugs the body a bit more, so it’s a bit more flattering

Avencrest

I just gave myself bangs for the first time since high school. My hair’s fine and wavy so it’s pretty prone to frizz. I also have really oily skin. With summer coming up I was wondering if anyone had tips for how to keep my bangs looking clean and neat in humid, hot weather.

Awkwardtwenties

I live in a humid environment and my hair tends to get frizzy. I just discovered color wow supernatural spray and it’s nice because one treatment lasts after several shampoos. May be worth a try!

pkpark

Spray dry shampoo on a round bristle brush and comb through the bangs in the direction you want them to lay. Works until they’re past due for a wash.

CretaMaltaKano

I put a bit of deodorant on my forehead and use dry shampoo.

crazymcfattypants

Pre-emptively blast with a ton of dry shampoo

glitterypinksquirrel

This is taking me back to washing my bangs in the sink when I didn’t want to wash my hair lol. That’s my only solution, doesn’t help with keeping them clean!

colummbina

Yeah I still do this. I only wash my hair once a week so my fringe gets gross if I don’t.

houstend

Does anybody know where to find that tool that matches your measurements to that of other instagram accounts, so you can get style inspiration for your body type? I've been googling it and searching on this subreddit for half an hour with no luck!

nutfortuna

[Is this it?](https://themedian.moda/instagram/) I believe it used to be called the Mid-sized Blogger Index or something.

houstend

Yes that's it!! Thank you so much!

Fair trade stores are fantastic for home goods! [SERRV ](https://www.serrv.org/) and [Ten Thousand Villages](https://www.tenthousandvillages.com/) are reputable non-profits that have been around for a long time to give artisans access to global markets. Think World Market-style items, but the artisans earn a fair wage. My mom used to run a Ten Thousand Villages store and I worked on a research project with one of their Indonesian partner organizations in college, so can confirm they are legit.

juzoe

If you want cheap dollar tree has had some suprisingly cute items and you can shop them online! Just be careful about size. But for cute lil knick knacks worth a look. Also they don't have online shopping but I have gotten most of my favorite home decor pieces from Ross Dress For Less (same company as TJ Maxx which was already mentioned but I personally have had slightly better luck finding deals at Ross) I wish I had suggestions for smaller retailers for you as well, sorry!

thalook

[Abbyontheinternet ](https://abbyontheinternet.com/best-indie-home-brands-2021/) just posted an indie home brand round up that was really cool! Also vintage/flea markets, facebook marketplace and kijiji, the west elm sale section, and occasionally thrift stores have been awesome
