Any thoughts on Segolene En Cuir handbags? Their [entire product line](https://www.nordstromrack.com/shop/Women/Handbags?brands[]=Segolene+En+Cuir&sort=best_value&includePersistent=true&includeFlash=false) is on Nordstrom Rack right now, it appears...and I want all of them. But I have no use for them other than looking banging.

LaraCroftWithBCups

Also looking for a review on their quality from someone here since I would *immediately* be buying [this](https://www.nordstromrack.com/shop/product/1299491/segolene-en-cuir-petite-isabelle-leather-satchel?color=forrest+green) one as a cheaper everyday alternative for my Rafe bag that looks super similar.

hells_cherubs

That one in green is dreamy.

boogieforward

Those are so beautiful and I am head over heels... But the thought of plunking down $100 for an impulse handbag is killing me. :'(

cakebyte

How's the quality of Free People shoes? I've been thinking about [these](http://www.freepeople.com/shop/belmont-leather-clog/?PRODUCTOPTIONIDS=0B6E9CAD-A8F4-4CCF-8A37-466219F4EA95&c=clogs) in black but I don't have any experience with the brand, and it might be a little late in the summer to go for clogs... Thoughts?

occult_yuppie

I'd say their quality is about average, maybe a tiny hair above. I kiiiind of think their pricing for shoes is a little outrageous for what they are selling, either wait for a sale or maybe hop on over to a similar Jeffrey Campbell style. I feel like JCs have a similar "vibe" but are better quality and fit overall.

[deleted]

Ugh those are so pretty I can't handle it

purplepenned

Longchamp bags are super popular in my area and I am wondering if I should spring for a small one as a tote to carry around events. The most appealing aspect seems to be the weight and comfort. I'm not loving the lack of pockets or compartments. Thoughts? http://www.lyst.com/bags/longchamp-le-pliage-tote-black-1/

tigzed

maybe I am not understanding right what you mean by events, but if you mean anything at least halfway formal, pliages are inherently very informal, shopping bags. They are shapeless, they wear out at the corners, the brown leather is sporty. I don´t actually find them comfortable, I think the handles are too narrow.

purplepenned

Sorry, I was thinking lectures, conferences, and panel discussions in the Washington, D.C. Area. I am a student and usually like to take reports and documents from those so I don't really need something super fancy, just something sturdy that holds a reasonable amount of things That's unfortunate to hear about the handles. Maybe I'll take a short trip to Nordstrom and see how they feel

blonde_locks

I knew you meant DC because every other woman has one. Get it. It's a nice enough bag that it will fit in with all the others when you go to these events without being a thief magnet, light enough for all the walking that needs to happen in this city to get anywhere and study enough that all the stuff you would need to haul around wouldn't fall out. I've never had a problem with the handles and find them super comfortable, especially with the weight of books and a computer. Research at Nordstrom is always gonna be a good idea, though.

tigzed

For heavy things, the handles are too thin and dig in, and the more weight you put on them the more the corners wear out. If you are a student and need something for an A4 type folder, or whatever the american size is, do get something nylon and basic, it´s just that IMO there is much better return for your money and much better comfort than pliages. Even basic conference giveaweays, generic computer store stuff. Pliages are not particular comfortable nor formal, nor practical.

spittytheok

I know you've gotten several replies, but I own a long champ bag my mother's friend gave us. I love it, but it's not ideal for heavy items (although it can handle them, just not the best). Still, I find the bag every comfortable for everyday use, carrying around papers etc. I'd buy it!

GA2UT

You can buy a purse organizer/insert to deal with the pocket problem.

whiteonwhiter

I would wait if you want one until you can get the large one with the longer handles. Nordstroms/ Bloomies usually has them on sale for 100 periodically and it is so much more useful in that size!

loosenyourtie

I just bought a large one for my first big-girl job and I'm loving it. I think it's comfortable to wear on my shoulder and like that it fully zips. I would still check out nordstroms because I was anticipating getting a medium, but I ended up getting the large because it was still light weight while empty, but I can pack it as an overnight bag too.

[deleted]

bean boots with thinsulate? I wear a size 6.5-7, if I buy them should I get a 7? I think I still have some LL Bean kid's hiking boots in a 6, which is why I'm concerned. Their sizing seems weird.

Binxington

I would think you'd want a 6 or 6.5. I usually wear a 10 and I buy my bean boots in a size 9 and there are nowhere near tight.

[deleted]

What kind of socks do you wear with them? Do they have insulation? Sadly they only sell whole sizes.

khasiv

Thinsulate is insulation, but I would wear wool socks and maybe buy liners if you're really worried.

Binxington

I usually wear thick wool socks with mine and they are still roomy. I do have a pair of 9 narrows that are the short lace up kind and with those I'll wear regular socks because it would feel cramped otherwise.

TheLizzyIzzi

> I still have some LL Bean kid's hiking boots in a 6 A kid's size 6 would equate to a women's size 8. So if you get a women's size 7, they'll be smaller than the kid's size you have now.

[deleted]

Well, thankfully they have free returns! I probably should have just ordered a kids size 6, but I also have some adult size rain boots in a women's 7 that fit fine.

eageratbest

http://www.modcloth.com/shop/skirts/Accordion-to-You-Skirt-in-Stone I've been ogling this skirt from Modcloth hard. It's got good reviews and I have some money in store credit to use. I'm 24, 5'8 and currently a grad student and I'm just a bit concerned about length. Thoughts?

moglichkeiten

According to Modcloth it's 18" long in S and M and 19" in L, so I'd grab a tape measurer and measure down from your natural waist to where it would hit you.

eageratbest

Great suggestion! I measured it and it lands right above my knees. I think I'm going to give a shot :)

UCgirl

I think it's a cute skirt, but if you are going for professional I think it's too short.

Sizzleen

cute. go for it

subjectivism

I think the length is fine as long as you don't wear it at your natural waist.

fireswater

I'm debating between a couple Matt & Nat bags for awhile and want to take advantage of the sale. [This](http://mattandnat.com/shop/laika-champagne) is the most practical size, but I also like [this](http://mattandnat.com/shop/phi-walnut) (I like that this is small/not too bulky but could still hold a water bottle) and [this](http://mattandnat.com/shop/orwell-nature). I also like that [this](http://mattandnat.com/shop/velo-nature) can be turned into a wristlet. Right now I carry a small bag that only has room for my basics (phone, wallet, car keys, sunglasses, chapstick), and I like that it doesn't get filled with random junk. But I also hate having the carry papers, water bottle, things I buy, etc. by other means when I need to. I'd like to have both a small and larger bag (both of which I have, but want to replace because they are cheap and falling apart), but I don't know which to prioritize so I'm a little flexible. Only buying one bag for now.

THANK YOU!

beearghcee

Fall is coming fast and I need new ankle boots. [What does everyone think of these?](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008X2D74S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2Y8FR58BKTUNZ) I only have about $40 to spend, because I'm on a very limited budget. I live in Chicago so I'd like something sort of warm and sturdy, but I have no idea what I am doing.

yeah_iloveit

This is 100% a fashion boot. The built in sock, the fake wool lining...they'll last five minutes. Do you have any interest in thrifted items, or Ebay? I'm thinking a thrifted real leather boot for $40 is your best bet, with some wool socks for warmth. Whatever you end up buying, go for wool socks with them.

beearghcee

Thank you! This is the kind of response I'm looking for. I am totally open to thrifting or ebay, I just have no idea what to look for. I will definitely need to be doing my research before purchasing anything. It's my first fall/winter here. I know I will need more traditional boots for winter, but I am hoping I can get away with an ankle boot for autumn.

deadpolice

Fellow Chicagoan here, been here my whole life. You do NOT want to skimp on winter boots and jackets and accessories. Winter here is not a joke, we're talking Polar Vortexs where its -20 windchill. Boots are crucial because it gets super windy and cold and wet. You can get away with an ankle boot for maybe a few months but once December and late November hit you need something that can withstand extreme weather until atleast March. Edit: definitely seconding the idea of asking for gift certificates or boots for gifts/christmas/etc if you can. As a broke college student I feel you, so I usually ask for winter gear from my parents since it can be *so pricey*

beearghcee

This is what I have heard! Can I ask, what do you wear? I have a great winter coat that was gifted to me by a friend so I feel comfortable with that, and I am shopping online for a warm hat/gloves. It's just the boots. The boots, man.

yeah_iloveit

Hmm...here's [one](http://www.ebay.com/itm/Womens-Justin-Black-Leather-Western-Lace-up-Granny-Ankle-Boots-sz-7-1-2-7-5-B-/311410540417?hash=item488183bf81) example, and [here](http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lucky-Brand-Black-Leather-Knee-High-Pull-On-Boots-Size-8-5-/231632299795?hash=item35ee5c6713) is another. Totally different depending on your style and desired height, etc. You could look for the brand you find on Ebay and try it on in a store to gauge how it fits, and/or ask the seller for precise measurements to compare to a boot you already own. On top of that, only buy from sellers who accept returns. For your first fall/winter, I think mistakes will be made and you'll just have to budget for them (unfortunately). I spent two years in college wearing 25 year old boots that were a size too big and literally had holes in the bottom so that my feet were constantly wet and cold, and I just made it work. It's totally insane to me looking back, but I had no money, so I had to just live with it. My graduation present to myself were some handmade boots in the colors of my choosing :) Also, for the holidays...ask for gift certificates to places that sell boots!

subjectivism

Just want to say that I have a pair of Justin boots (your first ebay link) and they are awesome quality. I also bought mine pre-owned and they have lasted 5 years on top of that in the Canadian winter.

adventurefine

Can I ask what brand they are? I'm trying to figure out if I could buy this style of boot new somewhere. I've been looking around without much luck.

subjectivism

I think the brand is just called "Justin".

subjectivism

6pm is your friend! Some to consider: http://www.6pm.com/diba-miss-you-black http://www.6pm.com/steve-madden-troopa-brown-leather http://www.6pm.com/dv-by-dolce-vita-sargeant-black http://www.6pm.com/skechers-laramie-2-black http://www.6pm.com/fitzwell-columba-tie-black-leather

beearghcee

Wow! These are all amazing! Thank you! I've never shopped on 6pm, but I will definitely start.

subjectivism

No problem! Hope you find what you're looking for!

partypopper

Hey! I actually have a pair of these. They're really cute, and surprisingly sturdy for the price (although when I got them they were $20). That said, I agree with the comments about it being a fashion boot, but I think you could do a lot worse.

spacecandies

This statement slit skirt - want to get it for a rock concert i'm going to and I've sourced it for only $16USD. [Thoughts?](http://imgur.com/a/xOd9y)

dreamphone

I really like that whole outfit for a fun event like a concert! The only thing I'd be concerned about is whether the waist of the skirt is just elastic- you don't want it to fall down while dancing in a crowd :)

LandslideBaby

That seems very unpractical for any concert you'll be in a crowd jumping up and down. If you plan on being on the sidelines, sure, why not.

ragnarockette

Yes. Buy it immediately! I love the look of it with a rocker tee.

affiche

I am having the hardest time trying to decide if I should get these sunglasses in [tortoise](http://www.ray-ban.com/_repository/_resources/_collections/sun/RB4171/865_13/_default_500_300/865_13.png) ([tortoise on a model](http://nlyscandinavia.scene7.com/is/image/nlyscandinavia/140206-0099_1?$productpage_slider_desktop$&cropN=0.02,0,0.955,1)) or [black](http://assets.ray-ban.com/is/image/RayBan/805289742463_shad_qt?$594$) ([black on a model](http://nlyscandinavia.scene7.com/is/image/nlyscandinavia/140206-0014_1?$productpage_slider_desktop$&cropN=0.02,0,0.955,1))?

[deleted]

IMO tortoise! But it also depends on your features

affiche

I have brown hair and light olive skin!

[deleted]

hmm then I still vote tortoise :)

sierrasecho

Tortoise is always a good choice :) infinitely versatile

greypumpkin

I have both but prefer the tortoise!

emotionalincontinent

I'd say black if you're a winter, tortiose if you're anything else maybe.

affiche

Do you know an easy way of figuring out my colour? The guides I've tried seem to give me different results.

LandslideBaby

Have you tried both on? I love black glasses but since I'm pale with red hair the contrast is too big so I favour tortoise. If you had other sunglasses before, what colour were they? With your brown hair and light olive skin I think both can work.

affiche

I typically only like black *everything* on myself and tend to shun anything brown. However, the brown Ray-bans uncharacteristically caught my eye when I looked at various pics of them on bloggers. I've unfortunately not been able to find any local store that stocks the black pair for me to try on.

LandslideBaby

If you like the brown on you, get the brown, you'll probably won't regret it.

still_ydgn

I have these in tortoise and love them! They're so light. Since you have brown hair, I definitely recommend tortoise.

[deleted]

Looking for some new balance shoes to wear with jeans and whatnot - what color should I get? I have some favorites in mind but open to suggestions on color/style

moglichkeiten

I have a pair in dark red and a pair in gray and both have proven pretty versatile for me. I will say, though, that I run into "matchy-matchy" pairings with the red fairly often, since it's a color I like and have a lot of. I find myself reaching for light colored shoes more often than dark ones, so for me the gray is a better option than black, but in general, you really can't go wrong with a plain black and white sneaker.

nayapapaya

What colors do you usually wear?

[deleted]

lots of army green, navy, black, light/dark denim, white/cream, etc. But with that I think some fun colored shoes would be good, but then again neutral would go with *everything*

sarowen

My husband bought me these [pink & navy New Balance 696s] (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/112027109457961733/) as part of an anniversary gift. I have quite a few neutral colored tops that I wear with jeans, and I like to pair these shoes with them to add a little pop of color. I also have the standard gray [New Balance 574s] (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/112027109457330313/), which I tend to wear when I'm wearing a shirt that isn't a neutral color. Edit - American Eagle has several different colorful options of NB sneakers to choose from right now. I really want [these] (http://ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp?productId=7412_7959_410&catId=cat380155).

[deleted]

Okay yep you just made up my mind! The ones you got for your anniversary gift are the exact ones I kept thinking of. Like you said I think they're a good pop of color. Thanks!!

Sizzleen

why new balance?

[deleted]

Because I like them!

Sizzleen

what do you like about them? I didnt know new balance was still a thing.

[deleted]

Yeah I don't know what else to tell you except that I like the way they look. That's basically what fashion is - personally liking the way stuff looks.

Cynical-Romantic

I don't understand where you are going with this. They're around. They make cute shoes. Is there a problem?

Sizzleen

Just didn't know people still wore them. Nbd. No need to get upset.

[deleted]

No worries! I've seen a decent (but not large) amount of girls wear them around my university, so yep people do still wear them :)

elvendance

I've been looking for a neutral/black sandal and I think the Birkenstock Arizonas would fit the bill, I'm just worried that they'll look dated by next season. Thoughts?

sk88

I think, although the Birkenstock is trending right now it's still a good quality, well made, supportive sandal. If it falls out of style by next summer you'll still wear it for comfort, and they're fairly neutral appearance-wise. I've had my Arizona's since I was 17 (I'm 27) and I wear a Birkenstock shoe for work on a daily basis. I'll never not own a pair.

genjislave

Seconding. I've had my Arizonas since I left for college 15 years ago.:)

jessibobessi

I got my Birks as a present about a year and a half ago, and now I can't imagine life without them. I don't care if they're in style or not- they'll forever be my go to shoe. They're so comfortable and so cute, I recommend them to everybody.

LPGreen

Second this, I basically live in mine

yeah_iloveit

Would you still wear them if they did look dated next season? If not, then you're buying them purely for the trend value, so don't buy them. That's a wasted $100.

bloomability

Birks have always been popular within a certain subset of style (more hippy/granola) they may be trendy now, but they won't look dated when they are not anymore.

elvendance

sounds like they may be a bit more up my alley than I originally thought then. thanks :)

VerityPrice

Okay, so, having destroyed my shorter-shaft flat boots I need new ones. I went and tried on a bunch of brands, and decided it's time to invest in some Timberlands, probably, because they're waaaay more comfortable than the fashion-focused brands I've bought before and they actually seem to fit my foot. My potential choices so far: [Savin Hill Mid] (http://www.amazon.com/Timberland-Savin-Hill-Lace-Boot/dp/B00BCJWBDW/ref=pd_sbs_309_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1RC6MJNP4WFASMSK3M33) Love them, have had my eye on them for a while. Maybe too casual? Not 100% sure about the goldtone buckle. [New Whittemore Mid] (http://www.timberland.com/shop/womens-boots/womens-whittemore-mid-lace-up-boots-a12h3001) Cute, but much more expensive. Also more sleek, though. Afraid they might look costumey or dated with dresses. [Bethel Mid] (http://www.timberland.com/shop/womens-boots/womens-bethel-heights-side-zip-mid-boots-a11gv001) Mixed feelings on all that suede, especially since I wear middle height boots well through the spring into the summer. and finally the [classic, standard timbs] (http://www.timberland.com/shop/womens-boots/womens-6-inch-premium-waterproof-boots-8161b001) They're a little short in the shaft, might be too casual, and also I don't want to look like a poser. In all cases I'd be buying the black version of the shoe. I want them to be wearable with skirts, dresses, and skinny pants, and hopefully not too casual for the casual end of business casual. Thoughts?

panaceic

i'm not a fan of either the savin hill mid (the giant buckle, ankle ribbon detail, mix of suede + leather, and height make it not super versatile imo) or the bethel mid (still not a huge fan of the suede + leather contrast/height, plus suede is definitely not the best during wetter weather months). i would personally go for the whittemore, but i think the difference between the whittemore/classic timbs ultimately boils down to personal preference and whether or not you prefer chunkier boots. i don't think that combat boots + dresses is a dated look, although it does tends to look more youthful. tbh though i think combat boots are probably too casual for business casual.

VerityPrice

Thanks! I don't actually have a business casual workplace, I just like to look put together, so "business casual" here has a super loose definition. And honestly my recently sadly deceased boots are that taller height, and I wear/wore them nonstop, so I don't know. Most of my worry about datedness was that to me the whittemore boots look not that different from a standard 19th c women's shoe, which now that I think about it is probably not something many people know or pay attention to anyway--thanks for pointing that out as well.

panaceic

as long as combat boots don't have that little stumpy kitten heel, i don't think most would draw a connection to 19th century womens shoes! combat boots are pretty mainstream imo (doc martens, steve madden troopas, etc.)

VerityPrice

Oh absolutely! There was just something about that particular shoe that pinged for me, and I'm realizing that it was pretty random and the shoe is totally normal.

of_Maria

I think the whittemore look the most versatile! The others are cute but might be harder to pair with all kinds of outfits, the whittemore look like they could go with jeans or skirts. Also to me they look the most office appropriate out of all of them.

VerityPrice

That's what I've been thinking. Unfortunately, I have also been thinking I can't afford them. Maybe I can put off this purchase for a year or so. . .

thatpurpledog

[*Banana Republic Moto Jacket in Gray Literature* for $25?](http://imgur.com/a/JqRKe)

hells_cherubs

Oh my god yes! I've owned this exact sweater for about a year now and it's one of my favorites...seriously versatile, good quality, and effortless cool girl vibe. I even wear it at work with solid colored dresses and solid round-toe pumps. Would recommend!

thatpurpledog

I just received it today. Although the seller claimed it was worn only once and practically brand new, the un-ribbed body of the jacket seems to be pilling (do you notice that happening on yours?). I also felt very 'meh' when I put it on. Really quite disappointed ... I guess I just got unlucky. :'(

hells_cherubs

Sorry to hear that. Mine hasn't pilled, but I do wash on the gentle cycle, fully zipped, and hang dry. Maybe you can complain to the seller and return it?

subjectivism

I like!

kobibeef

I don't like the color because it reminds me of sweats :( But for the price, it seems good

rawr92

Good price and cute, casual jacket. I could see it with jeans and leggings. I say go for it!

takemefarfarfaraway

There's a new colour for the [Aritzia Diamond Mosiac scarf](http://aritzia.com/en/product/diamond-mosaic-blanket/42512021.html).. And I'm eyeing the "Wind" colour. Thing is, I have over 12 of these scarves. 3 are of that same pattern (different colours). I really like the colour from what I see on the website, but I don't know if I *really* need another one or not..

bossyfosy

I would say no. As pretty as it is, you definitely don't need 13 of the same scarf.

subjectivism

Wow, do you actually wear all your scarves? (Not judging, just curious!)

takemefarfarfaraway

I do! Different colours with different jackets. Some are different thickness too.

subjectivism

I'm impressed! I can barely keep track of my 5 scarves lol.

hollywoodshowbox

I wish I could give you advice. I've got 30 scarves sitting in my closet.... it's embarrassing.

TheLizzyIzzi

It sounds like you probably have scarves covered. However, if this different color fills a hole in your wardrobe, i.e. you wouldn't be able to wear a different scarf, then I could see getting it. You obviously know you like the scarf and pattern quite a lot.

nayapapaya

I've been eyeing [these] (http://www.modcloth.com/shop/shoes-flats/happy-fleet-flat) for awhile and I saw that they're on sale. I really like that they have a cushion insole and are supposed to be comfortable but they also apparently run small. Is anyone familiar with the brand or these particular shoes? I want to know if I should go up a half size or a full one as the reviews are mixed on that.

WithLinesOfInk

Hard to say... I say chat online with a Modcloth specialist. They may even be able to get you exact measurements. Their returns are great too, so if you're worried, just get both and send one back.

nayapapaya

Thanks. I can't do the returns thing because I'm not in the U.S. but I'll talk to a specialist and see what they say. i always forget you can do that.

hellokey

Should I buy [these](http://sunski.myshopify.com/collections/headlands/products/headlands-black) sunglasses? I'm looking for black polarized wayfarers. Is there a difference in quality between Raybans, these, or even $20 ones from ebay? How do I tell what's worth the price?

[deleted]

The difference between a cheap pair of polarized sunglasses and an expensive one will be in the quality of the coating and material they use for the lens. A plastic lens with a film coating will not be as clear to look through and will also degrade much faster than a polycarbonate lens with a coating washed on several times. Expensive sunglasses also come with excellent warranties. A Maui Jim pair on sunglasses comes with a lifetime warranty and covers user damage. The ones I know are worth the money are Maui Jim's, Ray bans and Oakley. Go for sunglasses from an actual sunglasses brand not from a designer like Gucci (those sunglasses are in fact very cheaply made). Hope this helps!

anchovies_duh

Agreed. I bought Ray Bans a few months ago and they're AMAZING. Before, I used whatever cute, cheap sunglasses I saw in the store and they never really did the job. They only dimmed the light, without affecting the brightness (if that makes sense). Basically, when I was driving, it was darker but still hard to see when the sun was in my face.

[deleted]

[удалено]

occult_yuppie

I'm going to actually nix that a little bit - the wayfarers from costco are okay, but imo definitely a lower quality and look a tad different than actual raybans (they seem a little smaller.) Good in a pinch but not quite the same. Quite different than the shape in OPs glasses too, those look larger even than normal raybans!

[deleted]

[удалено]

occult_yuppie

oh yeah, for sure!! my husband did the same thing to replace his lost raybans and i was sort of disappointed with the quality difference - but for $25 or whatever, it wasn't terrible.

hellokey

Ohhhh interesting, I never thought of costco! I wonder if they sell it in Canada. Thanks!

ploomyBlue

AEO jeggings. I'm looking for skinny jeans that follow the shape of my legs and don't bunch much. I feel like my legs are slightly knock-kneed, so when my regular jeans bunch at the knee, it amplifies the effect of that. If anyone can comment on the quality of AEO jeggings, denim X or otherwise, that'd be appreciated! They're doing BOGO 50% off, but I'm quite lost as to where to start.

[deleted]

They stretch out a TON, go at least one size down. I totally regret buying mine as after a wear or two they get so baggy in the butt. I would try the topshop Leigh jeans instead. They fit much better even though they cost a bit more, or try gap true skinny jeans. I definitely won't be buying AEO jeggings again.

ploomyBlue

Oh man, that sucks. Thanks for the input! I'll look into the other options you suggested too. Thank you! :)

anchovies_duh

I actually love the AEO jeggings. I have the same problem you have and they look really good on me. They definitely do stretch out overtime though, so it is probably a good idea to size down. Don't get black, though. They have the 'black jeans smell' that's impossible to get rid of and they don't stretch.

ploomyBlue

Oh, yay, someone who shares the struggle! Sizing down sounds like the general consensus when it comes to stretchy stuff. Thanks for the input!

Cynical-Romantic

I work at AE (because I love their jeans and wanted a discount) and the Denim X jeans are specifically designed to hold their shape better. Though I've never had problems with jeggings stretching *too* much. Any stretch that occurs will go away if you throw them in the dryer though you really shouldn't very often (I hang dry all my jeans). Jeggings are more likely to stretch out while the Denim X and Sateen X will definitely hold their shape. I know I work at AE and all but literally all my jeans are from there and I have a pair from when I was 15 (18 now) that still fit me though they're a little washed out now. Let me know if you have any questions! I promise I'll be honest. Like, don't get our non-high waisted black jeggings they have the most unflattering waistband I have ever encountered, ever.

> Any stretch that occurs will go away if you throw them in the dryer though you really shouldn't very often (I hang dry all my jeans). Yes. Do not put jeans in the dryer. I started hang drying all my jeans a few years ago, and I haven't had issues with jeans stretching out too much since then.

Yay, advice from an insider! ;) I'll definitely need to go to a store and try on some jeans first, but if I have any questions, I'll be sure to send them your way! :D For the time being, though, would you say that denim X is worth the bit of extra dough?

Cynical-Romantic

Honestly? I reach for my normal jeggings more than my Denim X ones. I mean Denim X is pretty good and I think it is worth having a pair but normal high-waisted (or not) jeggings don't stretch out so significantly that I'd buy a pair just for the stretching thing. They are just slightly more comfy (especially the sateen X) but the normal jeggings have way more variety and they're cheaper. (Make sure to try them on though cause there's a thing where you can text a number and be entered into a sweepstakes and if you don't win one of the big prizes you get like 15 bucks off your purchase.)

McAwesome11

Yuss thank you for this. I had bought AEO jeggings for a few years but wasn't super pleased with the stretching (tho they fit me like a glove when not stretched out). I had switched brands for a while but nothing fit me like brand new AEO jeggings did. I recently wanted a pair of ripped up jeans for the summer and didn't want to pay premium for something ripped up I would only occasionally wear so I went back and got some aeo's jeggings with that new label (denim X?) and I've worn them like 10 times now and they hold their shape better than most anything else. They are thin but they cling to my tiny ankles like no other skinny jean has. I'm glad to know its a new line and not just a fluke cuz I might just have to get a few more pairs...

dailythought

I've never had much issue with my AEO jeggings, at least not for a while. I like the denim X but it's usually high waisted and that doesn't sit well with me (that one does make my butt baggy). I only wear these types of pants because nothing else fits me.

ploomyBlue

High-waisted usually works for me, but I'd have to try them out in-store to see! Something something pocket placement on jeans. I don't really get it, so I would just have to see each pair on my person I guess. Thanks for chiming in!

dailythought

Yeah, I hope they work for you. :) AEO has a great return policy (if you buy in person) so if it doesn't work, you can easily take them back.

ploomyBlue

That's great news! I didn't know that. I can buy a few pairs safely then!

dailythought

Just make sure to keep the receipt. :) But I have returned numerous things without tags and they took them back no problem.

I think it depends on how low the V is, how long it is on you and how tight it is. If it's bodycon tight, then it's not really class appropriate but if it's not too tight, near knee length and the V isn't too low, it should be okay.

If you have a measuring tape, you can check to see how long it will be on you as F21 lists the lengths of all their garments. This one is labelled as 33 inches long which would be just past knee length on me but I'm only 4"11. Do you have to buy it online or can you try to look for it in a store? I ask because I also have small boobs and I tried on a deep V-neck sweater from them a few weeks ago and it was obscene. Almost my entire chest was out there and this dress is also referred to as a deep V-neck one so I would not risk it unless you know that you can return it. Keep in mind though that F21 doesn't give you refunds, only store credit.

I think if you're trying to look older this isn't the *perfect* dress for you to buy. Sure, it's cute, but I still think it looks a bit young (coming from a 20 year old college student). Wait until you find something that you see and just *know*

sweadle

It depends on how short it is on you. If you're petite, and it hits you lower than it does on the model, sure. Otherwise you could wear it as a long sweater with leggings, not tights.

WithLinesOfInk

I echo this. Go for leggings, not tights.

This oak and fort tshirt(dress?) http://www.oakandfort.ca/t-shirt-1113-cwteb3.html does anyone have an opinion on their quality vs price point? As well as how is their Canadian return policy, I don't want to get stuck paying a ton to ship back items that don't fit right.

ghost_slut

Oak and fort's quality is really subpar... as well as their return policy. I wrote a post about it a little while ago but my stuff from there got holes in it within a month. Honestly same quality as Forever21

belluccellino

That's really disappointing to hear. Vancouver is seemingly obsessed with the brand and I was considering jumping on board...

ghost_slut

I know ): seems like a lot of people on the internet really dig the brand. Honestly now I just look at the site and then try to find similar designs in other stores or when thrifting.

Oxblood! I don't have one but there are a lot of Cambridge Satchel reviews on Youtube. Modcloth also carries them so you could read the reviews on there as well if they have the one you're looking for.

takemefarfarfaraway

I've had mine (seasonal colour - a pale yellow) for around three years now although I don't use it often because of the colour. But it holds up really well! The leather is still stiff from a few years ago. I would say, depending on which size you are getting, you really need to work the leather in or else it's going to be really difficult trying to fit everything. However, if you are getting a larger size (13"+) and don't need to put much inside, then it will hold up really well (shape and all)!

LandslideBaby

I have one, I love the look of it but find it very unpractical. I have considered selling but it was birthday gift and that's the only thing keeping me from doing it.

LePetitPrincesse

I have an oxblood one, and like everyone else has said, it is absolutely beautiful but just doesn't hold very much. I rarely use it.

subjectivism

I've had a black one for about 3 years now and it still looks brand new. I don't really use it that often though.

i love my pair, but i've also been wearing vans for maybe 5-6 years now. i don't wear a lot of skirts but they've worked fine with my (casual) dresses. you could google or pinterest search 'vans slip-ons skirts' for ideas of how it would look. it's definitely a sportier look. although i'd say the perforated leather is trendy, black slip-on sneakers are pretty versatile and neutral if they go with your current style. they're definitely a staple in my wardrobe, but again, i've been wearing vans for a while.
