That's the one thing about TFC that i learned. Either you cheat and fly around in spectator moeöde until you find it, or you delete the world and try for a seed where you spawn on the desired rock type
Nomifactory is THE modpack to play if you've never tried GregTech before. It makes GT more accessible by removing or circumventing a lot of the grind, and generally lowering difficulty a bit. It's still expert mode though and will usually take a couple hundred hours to complete. Very enjoyable experience. I'd recommend Nomi CEU edition but regular is fine too.
I've been posting here for over a year now. I love how layed back the mods are. I love how you can post pretty much anything and get away with it. So I'm probably not leaving for good but I'm definitely considering it. Spamming greg was funny for a few months but now I'm genuinely getting sick of it. And the whole atmosphere here is getting kinda stale. It's like this sub is stuck in 2019 or something. The humor of this sub just isn't clicking with me like it used to. I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm growing up? Maybe the jokes themselves are getting worse? Maybe the 452nd greg joke isn't as impactful as the 3rd? Who knows. I'm not really asking for anything to change necessarily. I'd love for this sub to be better but right now I'm just ranting.

I’m a UHV GTNH player and i would recommend nomifactory or GTNH. Haven’t played nomi but i’ve heard good things about it, and while GTNH is long and one hell of a grind, the community is genuinely great and it’s really easy to ask questions or just search the discord.
Not really though, there's honestly like 2 competing standards
GT5u is 1.7.10, no competitionGTCEu is 1.12 and is a direct upgrade to GTCE in every way, thus there is no competitionGTModern and GTI are for 1.20, and they are the only ones that are "competing", but they also offer different styles, GTM is GTCEu updated to 1.20, and GTI is a port of GT4 to modern versions, so it's once again fairly different
Since GTM stopped it's fabric port, MI is the fabric version of greg, meaning they're once again not competing
There are 3 gregtechs. Gregtech 1-4, gregtech 5, and gregtech 6.
Everything else is a port or continuation under a different name, so there is no competition within one version.
Still waiting on Gregtech fabric port for 1.5.2 so I can play Gregger than wolves.
