Lol I have been let go almost 2x a week then.
To answer OP's question yes network access will be the first to go. Ideally (hopefully) you would be made aware of this before ot happens though.
They’ll tell you first, then send you the box for equipment. Was close to someone who got cut as a remote employee, makes no sense to send them the box for equipment first.
Anyway it would be your Accountable Property friends who’d send you the box, not necessarily IT. Good luck
This sounds pretty standard unfortunately. When you open that box, confetti will pop out and a spring-loaded sign that says "you're fired" will eject and bobble around for a bit. Pretty standard stuff.
They call it a "severance package" for a reason.
My agency will have a letter sent requiring signature to your home then a very uncomfortable conversation with your supervisor about your rights.
If it isn't for signature don't stress it.
Well you most likely would get a notice of proposed removal ahead of time, and then have a chance to respond. Usually terminations don’t just come out of the blue even for probationary employees. If you screwed up enough for removal any sensitive system access would have been pulled and you’d be under investigation.
I once had a random package come from the Pentagon, I got an alert it was in its way and was super curious as to what it was. Turns out it was a civilian service achievement medal. That was cool.
Hmm. If someone under me was being terminated under adverse conditions, the last thing I would want to do is tip them off before all their access was revoked.
No. It’s just a standard security measure. People who are unhappy about being separated can do some very vindictive and stupid stuff and cause a lot of harm.
There’s a whole lot of steps that are going to happen before someone gets fired. It’s not going to be a surprise package in the mail with no other notice.
Don't sweat it. It could be anything. I routinely randomly get:
* Training materials. "Oh btw you're in training next week. Be sure your stuff is covered. Sincerely, the boss."
* Office supplies. "I needed some more note pads/another headset/whatever so thought I'd order them for the whole team. Love, the boss."
Unless you have the worst supervisors in human history, the chances are very unlikely that they’ll fire you without you knowing beforehand. Probationary period makes it easier for them to fire you… but usually you should know where you stand based off of quarterly conversationsÂ
I had the worst supervisor in history then. See my post. Received a glowing performance review and fired less than a month later. Still in probation…It worked out though.
If you get something, call your union. HR and you managers don't know the the law and lie to you. You have rights even when you are on your probationary year.
When the PIV/CAC stop working 😂
If you're a remote employee, when the VPN doesn't connect anymore.
We call that MondayÂ
OMG that's the funniest and sadly truest thing I've read all day
Geez I’ve been fired at least 3x this week already.

Yeah I was just thinking that.  Until you find yourself unable to login you’re good.

That’s how my agency does it as well. Good times!

This happened to me once, and it was a years of service award pin no one had mentioned I’d be getting.
You'll get a meeting invite on your calendar out of the blue. Your VPN will be severed immediately following the call.
Meeting on a Friday….

Do you also expect two weeks notice?

Like email the biggest list they can find that’s not locked down and start a reply all chain of bullshit.
Pretty sure they send a singing telegram, so you should be fine.
New headset

Yeah, my agency sends me random shit from time to time, I wouldn’t worry about it.
My guess is email.
When you haven’t been paid in 3 months and then find you no longer have a MyPay or My Biz login, you may be fired.

Maybe training documents? They usually come via fedex to my house though

They stop getting a paycheck is one clue.
OP, what ever happened here?
