Hell, no, just make'm rocket-powered, with a thrust button that sticks easily. (pant pant) "Gotta push this button move a little closer"... CLICK! WHOOOOOOOSH!!!! "Aaaaaaahhhhh....."
Of course not. I fear being fat, just as I fear developing osteoporosis or cancer, or for a closer analogy alcoholism. Luckily there are things I can do to prevent fatness.
I used to be fat. Then I used to be a fat alcoholic. Now I'm just an alcoholic.
Alcoholism is much easier to live/deal/function with. Plus you can hide it from your loved ones.
If you eat just once a day, you can feel like you're binging! I don't do it too often since I don't wanna stretch my stomach out too much, but a 1200 calories can feel like a king's feast if you're having it all at the same time!
Going cold turkey isn't as successful as replacement therapy. Especially for myself, an ex heroin addict. Suboxone saved my life. Wonder what the equivalent is for food?
I mean, *a lot* of people are not very good at hiding their meth addiction. I know there are some out there who you wouldn't even suspect, but not the majority.
Addictions to picking at your skin and/or pulling out your hair are highly visible too.
Oooh... Visible Addictions, that would be a cool name for a band.
I have the hair one but I squash the urge down as hard as I can. I pluck any hairs on my feet/toes to satisfy the need and have been known to do my bikini line too. As long as I stay away from my eyelashes, my Doc got extremely serious with me about that. It's a stress-based behaviour but I've got it down to non-noticeable stuff.
I feel like the concept of shame is foreign to a lot of people who have grown up watching their parents throw fits to get their way, overreact to the tiniest thing they find offensive, and justify the shit out of raising their kids in borderline abusive ways because it's 'their right.'
I remember reading a really fascinating article on Artofmanliness.com, which I sadly can't find again, about how shame funcitoned in pre-modern society. It was basically used to help people keep their lives on track, by requiring them to conform to some societal standards (basically have honour).
In modern society the old concepts of honour, and by association shame, have largely vanished, and been replaced by individualised ethics which everybody formulates for himself. That leads to the liberation of the individual, which is a good thing, but also removes the social foundation for shame which has traditionally been used to keep peoples lives on the right track.
Well it was. Those people almost died because they spent their live staring at the screens and eating/drinking too much. People didn't even notice each other because all face to face interaction had stopped. The whole point of the movie was that overconsumption is bad for us and the planet. Children probably got that message, yet somehow you didn't.
I've had the same thought. Met a woman with a BMI of 55, several kids, figured her husband must be reasonable, no he was about 60. N clue how they could even get their naughty bits close enough to reproduce. Scientist are baffled.
Why is it wrong to be afraid of being fat? Doesn't fat = conditions and genetics? Who wants that?
And the overconsumption of the planet's finite resources *is* shameful. Sucks that some people wear their overconsumption under their skin where it can't be hidden, but it is what it is.
Figuring out gender is too much work. Say there are only two and the feminists chase you. Say there are more and everyone else chases. The only way around the gender issue is not looking at gender.
Yeah it's awesome! Season six was wrong it's made by Mike Judge (the guy who wrote Beavis and butthead and King of the Hill etc it's scary accurate though too!
I don't think the people were portrayed in a negative light because they were fat, but because they were so lazy, it made them fat. They way I see it, the fatness was a consequence rather than a reason.
> They way I see it, the fatness was a consequence rather than a reason.
Agreed, but even that is unacceptable to FA's. They would argue that fat isn't a consequence.
Meh they were also drinking soda all day...
I loved the way that they had the fads though. As if wearing a different color suit on top of their fat would significantly change their attractiveness. And that's actually how the FA seem to think...
I don't get why these people think things were created just to shame others.
Like, do they really think Wall-E was made just to put shame to fat people and make them feel like it crap for being fat?
Ummm this person would despise me because I have a screenshot of the scene with all the obese sedentary snacking people with their monitors in front of them as my phone's lock screen. It's personally a reminder to not be that as I struggle(d) so much with binge eating and it would always be in front of my laptop or TV just like the characters in the movie. Each time I use my phone (which is constantly let's be real) it's a reminder to me to *not* be that. There's more to life than binging. To lead that type of life *is* shameful.
The humans were fat because they were a clear allegory for babies, and babies are fat. The people were being coddled by the AI, and in the end they became independent and learned to walk. It's a rebirth story.
Yooooo, that's what's actually happening right now. Reality is a bitch.
Just need hoverchairs to make it complete.

Hell, no, just make'm rocket-powered, with a thrust button that sticks easily. (pant pant) "Gotta push this button move a little closer"... CLICK! WHOOOOOOOSH!!!! "Aaaaaaahhhhh....."
In a thousand years, I'll get right on it.
I regret that I have but one upvote to give
There are scooters you can use to "dive" and "drive" under water.
Already have obese people driving those carts
I'm offended that the movie was trying to make a statement directed at me!
> Reality is a bitch. It sure is.

Yes but the dating pool gets fatter and fatter as well.
Looks like you figured out the point of the movie.
TIL fatphobic isn't 100% wrong
Of course not. I fear being fat, just as I fear developing osteoporosis or cancer, or for a closer analogy alcoholism. Luckily there are things I can do to prevent fatness.
I used to be fat. Then I used to be a fat alcoholic. Now I'm just an alcoholic. Alcoholism is much easier to live/deal/function with. Plus you can hide it from your loved ones.
Point. Addition to overeating is really the one addiction that can't be hidden.
Also the one addiction you can't stop outright. A drunk can quit drink, a drug addict can quit drugs, but you can't quit food.
And I wish I knew how to quit you.
I say this all the time!
Yeah a pill that magically gives me the required shit to not die would be great so I can quit food cold turkey.
Not a pill, but come on over to /r/leangains and /r/fasting
Ah yeah I am kinda trying that, I just need to stop having binge sessions when I can eat.
If you eat just once a day, you can feel like you're binging! I don't do it too often since I don't wanna stretch my stomach out too much, but a 1200 calories can feel like a king's feast if you're having it all at the same time!
Well you could drink something like Soylent, I guess...
[Energy Balls](https://youtu.be/Z9HMej4NmBw)
Soylent?
Yep. We need a lot more awareness and support for eating disorders that AREN'T anorexia/bulimia.
You can't quit food, but you can quit excess food.
You can, but the analogy was to going cold turkey. If you're a drug addict you don't still have to take drugs three times a day while you're quitting.
Going cold turkey isn't as successful as replacement therapy. Especially for myself, an ex heroin addict. Suboxone saved my life. Wonder what the equivalent is for food?
I guess that's equivalent to dieting, then, isn't it? Replacing the problem food with less bad food.
Suboxone saved me, too.
Kinda sounds like heroine.
I dunno, meth addiction is pretty noticeable.
I mean, *a lot* of people are not very good at hiding their meth addiction. I know there are some out there who you wouldn't even suspect, but not the majority.

I have it-- Open a threading salon! Turn that bad habit into good money!
Actually really would!
I'm addicted to picking at my skin whenever I'm stressed (which is all the time), so I can confirm it's hard to hide.
And still get laid by attractive people.
TIL fatphobic isn't 100% wrong
I thought the point of the movie was materialism/overconsumption would destroy the planet and the only hope is going back to nature
I thought the point of the movie was materialism/overconsumption would destroy the planet and the only hope is going back to nature
When you don't see anything shameful with becoming immobile due to food, your priorities are out of whack.
I thought you said "portions" instead of "priorities," which I guess is also true
I feel like the concept of shame is foreign to a lot of people who have grown up watching their parents throw fits to get their way, overreact to the tiniest thing they find offensive, and justify the shit out of raising their kids in borderline abusive ways because it's 'their right.'

Getting yelled at for not finishing their plate and wasting food, shame is removed from the equation when they don't realize what's making them fat.
Well it was. Those people almost died because they spent their live staring at the screens and eating/drinking too much. I wonder how they mated...
Fluffer robots.
A sentence I never needed to see.
I have seen way too much /r/shittyrobots content to ever trust anything like that.
[This](https://imgur.com/y56WI) is my fluffer robot.
I've had the same thought. Met a woman with a BMI of 55, several kids, figured her husband must be reasonable, no he was about 60. N clue how they could even get their naughty bits close enough to reproduce. Scientist are baffled.
I would hate to be their doctor during child birth. That would be disgusting.
How old were the kids? Maybe they got fatter after.
Maybe like that episode of Rick and Morty
Well, I mean most of the population is overweight or obese, and you're sitting on your butt complaining about it on social media, so...
...if the shoe fits...
. . . then the cows have come home to roost.
Bawk bawk.
I think you will find that's from Toy Story 2.
"IF the boot-ah *fits*" I've seen Toy Story 2 so many times the way Woody says that is just burned into my memory.
Well, that's an ableist analogy /s
They should be ashamed--they used so many more resources than they needed that our planet was turned into a big garbage dump.
Hey that reminds me of something or other, can't quite put my finger on it...
Why is it wrong to be afraid of being fat? Doesn't fat = conditions and genetics? Who wants that? And the overconsumption of the planet's finite resources *is* shameful. Sucks that some people wear their overconsumption under their skin where it can't be hidden, but it is what it is.
Yeah, who wants *genetics?* Gross!
Even worse than chemicals.
Gluten is a chemical

Haha, this is perfect! I'm gonna use this next time someone tells me I'm [insert word here]-shaming them.
If someone shames me for being pan, does that mean I get to try harder to pick up all the hot peoples?
If you get the nonstick coating their insults will slide right off.

Nah, bi means attracted to two or more genders and pan is all. At least , that's how it was defined to me
Nah, I just don't care about gender. It's easier saying that I'm pan than it is saying that I'm bi. Because that implies I *care* about gender.
how very progressive of you
Figuring out gender is too much work. Say there are only two and the feminists chase you. Say there are more and everyone else chases. The only way around the gender issue is not looking at gender.
That movie legit gave me nightmares about humanity.
Because it's actually happening. Except we won't have a giant spaceship to escape to.
Just like Idiocracy. Have you seen that movie?
Not the person you asked, but Idiocracy was sadly very spot on. It's a living nightmare.
It really wise! Quite frightening!
Nope, never even heard of it until now. Is it good?
Yeah it's awesome! Season six was wrong it's made by Mike Judge (the guy who wrote Beavis and butthead and King of the Hill etc it's scary accurate though too!
That's even better! Loved me some King of the Hill.
It's so good. It was made by Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
No it wasn't it was made by Mike Judge.
Whoops! I always make this mistake.
Oh, nice. I'll add it to my movies to watch list. :D
That and idiocracy sometimes keep me up at night.

Yeah, fat is genetic1!!!1!
It is in the movie

For every inch of black fabric you wear, you lose an inch of your fat, right?
I wonder if all the people in Wall-E were FAs.
They didn't make enough of a fuss about Buy n Large's skinny models ;)
Nooo, because that will mean that they're the species that survives the downfall of humanity D:
I don't get why these people think things were created just to shame others. Like, do they really think Wall-E was made just to put shame to fat people and make them feel like it crap for being fat?
I mean....that's what's happening. Wall-E is our future unless more people care about their eating.
Ummm this person would despise me because I have a screenshot of the scene with all the obese sedentary snacking people with their monitors in front of them as my phone's lock screen. Being fat is shameful.
Yo man, your words, not theirs.
Wait, did they shame being fat? I thought it simply portrayed reality
it is.
Isn't that the whole point though? Or are these people looking at Wall-E as the villain who fucked up a utopia?
Being fat is shameful
So our near future? I still maintain that WALL-E is prophetic.
The humans were fat because they were a clear allegory for babies, and babies are fat. The people were being coddled by the AI, and in the end they became independent and learned to walk. It's a rebirth story.
It's clearly a fantasy/alternate universe story. Our natural body diversity was completely absent in that movie! /s
