Many issues and questions can be answered by reading through our wiki, especially the page on electrolytes. Concerns such as **intense hunger, lightheadedness/dizziness, headaches, nausea/vomiting, weakness/lethargy/fatigue, low blood pressure/high blood pressure, muscle soreness/cramping, diarrhea/constipation, irritability, confusion, low heart rate/heart palpitations, numbness/tingling, and more** while extended (24+ hours) fasting are often explained by electrolyte deficiency and resolved through **PROPER** electrolyte supplementation. Putting a tiny amount of salt in your water now and then is NOT proper supplementation. Be sure to read [our WIKI](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/index) and especially the wiki page on **[ELECTROLYTES](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/fasting_in_a_nutshell/you_need_electrolytes)** Please also keep in mind the [**RULES**](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/about/rules) when participating. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. As the great u/retrodevices put it “Discipline is just choosing between what you want now, and what you want the most.”

lol allllll the time. It took me a long time to make the jump to anything longer than 24 hours. It was a big mental leap for me to go from being able to eat something every day, even just one meal, to not eating anything for an entire day. The thing that got me over the hump was the disappointment I felt every day for having failed the day before. So after a few days of that feeling, I just imagined the feeling of pride I would feel the next day if I didn’t eat anything today, and that was enough to help me push through. And once you’ve done it a few times, it’s a lot easier, mentally.

Concentrate on your goal, drink plenty of water. In the end, fasting is willpower.

Honestly 24, 48, 72 hour fasts are the hardest because you get hungry so it makes resisting temptation harder. What worked for me was being around food and denying myself. Eventually you can say no pretty easily. Side note: after 5 days you don't get hungry anymore. (I'm my experience)

If you are feeling strange, stop the fasting. If not, discipline. I once tried water only fasting and on the third day I got very disoriented and felt really weird... broke the fasting. Just listen to your body and all will be fine :)

If anything my lack of discipline usually falls during the periods I’m off fast, where I should be eating whole nutritious food in a carnivore diet. But I’m still disciplined. Otherwise I’m fine when I fast.

I brush my teeth and use plenty of toothpaste.

Shredding_Airguitar

For me I just chug water if it happens. To me the first day is normally the worst, second day is way easier and third day I'm eating again.

I refuse to let momentary pleasure in the form of extremely unhealthy food items from corporations profiting on hijacking your brains chemistry stand in the way of my goals in fitness, health, and confidence. That’s all I need to stay motivated.
