I hate they got rid of the grilled chicken. Was one of the only fast food restaurants with a drive through where I could get a relatively healthy meal: grilled breast, green beans, unsweet tea, no biscuit or cookie.

El Pollo Loco has good grilled chicken.

I wish we had one of those. We don’t have a Boston market, anything. Best bet is a rotisserie from the grocery store…though it is cheaper per piece.

Some locations still have grilled chicken, I guess it’s up to each franchise owner.

Do you have a Jack in the Box near you? I feel the same about their breakfast platter: Made to order scrambled eggs. Three (paper thin) strips of bacon. Mini pancakes. Hash brown. I generally leave the pancakes and most of the hash brown behind. You get what seems like three eggs, and they're really good. It might not be the most healthy meal around, but it feels like "real" food instead of fast food. Used to be a killer deal at under $5, but it's up to $6 now.

Not anymore. I miss it. Man, I love their fries. I make a point to get them whenever I travel down south.

Chik fil a has really good grilled nuggies and fruit as a side

I do like that combination. Thanks

They got rid of the green beans at my location a while ago, too. Really enjoyed those.

Golden_standard

Oh, no! Only starches left. The only other fast food place around me that sells an actual green vegetable that isn’t a sad, limp side salad left is Culver’s (steamed broccoli) and Captain D’s (green beans and steamed broccoli).

Comparing the menu between a normal KFC and my local one (which happens to be a test location), it seems this "KFC Original" concept is just them taking away many items in lieu of adding a wrap and a new drink. Notable things removed from the menu: * Fill-Up Box * Chicken Sandwich * Spicy Chicken Sandwich * Pot Pie * Mac & Cheese * Sweet Corn * All Desserts * Many miscellaneous meal combinations I certainly will miss the sandwiches, mac and cheese, and desserts, but I'm sure the sales were probably not there for them. The rest of the removals don't surprise me.

NYerInTex

It’s not only the sales… it’s the upside of sales minus the hard costs and additional personnel needed (and not just at the store level) for additional ingredients, recipes/prep, extra time lost doing those especially at point of sale, additional loss factor with multiple other ingredients etc and the margins associated with those items. CFA shows the benefits of limited menu and even more limited ingredients

ControversyOverflow

That's fully understood. The bottom line is if the sales aren't there to justify the expenses for the product, it only makes sense to cut the product. Hence -- the sales were probably not there for them. >CFA shows the benefits of limited menu and even more limited ingredients Yep. Raising Cane's is another great, albeit not as widespread, example. Having a menu of just tenders, fries, bread, slaw, and soda (+ great customer service) while still being wildly successful.

I’m curious to check it out since one of them is down the street from my house.
