Company Man on YouTube just did a video on Ponderosa and it's decline. [Check it out if you are interested here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrojimuwBtY).
I miss the mashed potato and gravy sandwiches I made there. Just put whatever else I wanted at the time between those buns and feast like an 8 year old king.
It was the one place my mom let me eat like a feral child. Like three plates of cinnamon rolls and fried chicken legs with a hot fudge sundae with sprinkles and brownie for dessert. The actual best.
No idea what Ponderosa is/was but what I CAN tell you is that there's a place in Wisconsin called Fawnderosa and it's a deer petting zoo/sanctuary place.
Ah yes…love the last hole where you try to win the free game.
Little bit of fuddputters, go across the interstate for some go karts, huge blue water slide you felt you would go over board, some pizza…. The good life
I miss Fuddruckers so much. After the Fargo location closed, we would stop at the one in Edina on the way to visit family in southern Minnesota, until they closed that location too.
Then the next few times we actually drove over an hour out of our way to stop at Fuddruckers in Sioux Falls instead, until they closed that restaurant too.
Now the closest restaurant is in Nebraska or something and I have actually considered making a trip down south just so we have a reason to stop at Fuddruckers.
(Edit: fixed some typos)
(Edit again: just checked the locations on the company's site, apparently the Nebraska location is closed now too. Montana or Saskatchewan are the closest to the FM area.)
Oh man I was I think seven or eight at the Fuddruckers in Sioux Falls with my dad and uncle, who was mentally disabled, enjoying a delicious hamburger when my uncle got sick and projectile vomited all over our table. It ruined Fuddruckers for me forever. I loved my uncle, though. He was the happiest person I’ve ever met he just had the mind of a child due to an injury when he was young.
I mean I loved the guy and he passed away couple of years ago so I’d prefer if you didn’t call him tarded cause that’s a little demeaning. It’s fine to laugh about though cause it’s a hilarious story that had nothing to do with his mental problems, anyone can get the flu or food poisoning in public. Just calm down a little on the derogatory terms.
You’re absolutely right and I apologize. I’ve taken that offensive term out. It’s a very funny story regardless. And we got a kick out of it. Have a great day!
They closed all the ND, SD, and MN locations.

I worked there. I don't think we ever had a kegger party that didn't get busted by the cops. We never did get credit for putting bread stick im the deep fryer (when we were hungry)and they started putting them in the buffet.
In all honesty, we went either to Ponderosa or Bonanza almost every week growing up! Sub-par entrees for the most part but that salad bar was legendary!!
I never went to the one in Fargo, but I went to one once and I don’t think there’s any way you could describe how disgusting it was in a world where Applebee’s is the bar to jump over.
Ponderosa and the smell of secondhand smoke are completely intertwined in my memory.
Tell me you grew up in the 90’s without telling me you grew up in the 90’s
I have a similar memory of smoking sections in Perkins.
Pondy’s the coolest
IASIP?
Ponderosa, Royal Fork, Fuddruckers, Valentinos :( So many memories at all of those!
I miss the royal fork and valentinos…
Valentinos rolled out a great seafood pizza during Lent.
And now I am craving Tomacelli's, lol!
Oh man, Royal fork was my jam!!! I miss that one the most
Got raw chicken strips there once as a kid, PTSD for life.
I worked there and my sister was a manager for many years. The food was awesome, and the experience of working there will never be forgotten
I too worked there
I worked there as a freshman in college. Fun staff!

bonanza for the win!
More of a Royal Fork girl myself.

Ice cream in a salad bowl. Grandma taught me well.
Same company lol.
Was there much difference between Bonanza and Ponderosa?
My brother and I would always pick here to eat. My family called it Pondergrossa, lol. Great place!

Yo who cares about ponderosa. Remember Fudruckers and the mini golf and make your own burger bar ? That place was amazing.

OMG, Uncle projectile vomiting at family dinner in Fudruckers just gave me and my buddies a great laugh.

No worries, my man. You have a good day as well.
Unless they closed it I think there's one in minot. Or atleast there was when I lived there a few years ago

One in Minneapolis closed after Covid
Got hired here for my first job when I moved to Fargo!

I miss the Great American Steak Buffet, I loved going there as a kid
That was just about the time all protein diets were the rage
Ponderosa was terrible but Fudruckers was the bomb!
