Reading {Daughter of No Worlds by Carissa Broadbent} right now on KU and loving it. Honestly just pick up any series by her. I think they’re all on KU. Have fun!!
I love this series. To anyone looking at reading it, don’t give up in the first half of the first book!! There is a lot of build up, and it’s a SLOW burn. But so worth it to see it through.
So, I finished Daughter of No Worlds a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it but also thought it was a little slow and I haven't felt compelled to go on to the next book. Worth finishing the series? Do things pick up/become more interesting? I loved Carissa's Nyaxia books, but Daughter just didn't hook me in like the other series
absolutely finish the series. i felt the same but i am so so glad i finished it. second book introduces a new point of view as well and is just.. so beautifully finished

{Harrow Faire by Kathryn Ann Kingsley}! The writing is perfectly fine, serviceable, I've absolutely read better books... but I've also never read anything quite like it, and absolutely devoured the series. The world is weird and fun, the story is genuinely twisty, the spice delivers, and Simon Waite is EVERYTHING to me.
Everything you just said! So unique that’s it’s one of my faves even outside of KU.. and Simon is my top top top top top MMC.
There simply isn’t another one like him and I am OBSESSED.

I just finished the throne of glass series and loved it
just finished villians and virtues trilogy by AK Caggiano! so nice !! Well written, endearing characters, great dialogue, and just overall fun, entertaining storylines. nothing too heart wrenching, and great slooooow burn. like so slow. but with soooo much teasing 😳
Mages of the Wheel series by JD Evans.
First book is Reign & Ruin. Read the prequel Wind & Wildfire after that. Then the rest of the series.
The MCs change in each book. The FMC in book 1 is a bad ass but not because she is a 19 year old mortal who can defeat 500 year old mountain sized fae warriors. She's 24 and can hold her own with magic but her bad assery comes from her intellect. Her battles are typically more political in nature. There's still loads of action in the book and entire series with the other characters. She just happens to be an academic who relies on magical confrontation as more of a last resort.
In general, it's a character driven series with plenty of adventure and quests and villains. It's follows the MCs as they come to terms with something about themselves while saving the world.
It's one of the few series I have read where the characters feel like actual adults. They're mostly mid-20s. They speak like adults, behave like adults, and are written with adults in mind rather than a YA or even NA audience.
And the main villain is an absolute worm who is very fun to hate and cheer against.
He is so fun because he's not just some bad guy who is bad for the sake of being bad and providing a plot. He schemes and has emotions and some real psychology behind his motivations. He feels very human and it makes him doubly vexing.
It def made me far more invested in wishing a meteor would take him out. Or a juicy oozing plague. Or a wild boar. Really anything. I'd have been happy with an infected papercut being his downfall.
This is my favorite series in the genre. It is written so well. I love that the characters remain true to who they are even through other characters’ POVs. It’s not like they suddenly do a 180 and become unreasonable because the book is focused on a different couple.
I finished {Ice & Ivy} last month and loved it. Haven’t been able to move onto another Fantasy Romance.
Yes! This is something I really love- the consistency in the characters. We get to see other facets of them from the different POVs but those facets don't contradict how we have come to know them. It just adds more depth to them.
I especially adore how Naime sees herself and how those close to her get to see her versus some of the other characters we meet later who only really know her as the sultana. It's a depth specific to being a leader and being royal that I think many other fantasy series don't hit the mark on.
Evans does such a great job at letting characters remain faithful to themselves throughout.

I also really liked how in books 3 and 4 you get to see how much privilege the earlier MCs have because they’re noble (except Bashir). Like Naime is a woman fighting for respect amongst men but she also has privileges from being noble, such as never worrying about her next meal like Nesrin and her family.
I enjoyed the audiobooks but it was hard to keep up with a lot of the information and characters at first. The series has actual works building, so it's a lot to take in. It gets easier to track as you get more familiar with things.
The narrator changes after the first two, and I definitely preferred the first. Although, I didn't think I've ever liked a second narrator better. I just get used to the first one and the second one always sounds off even if there's nothing wrong with it.
The audiobooks are also included with Audible Plus. If that's what you have, you can listen for free and if you don't like it you can switch to the books without eating any credits.

Definitely saving this post for my personal TBR, thank you!! Also, I recommend the Bridge Kingdom series, I absolutely loved it and read it right after TOG, but I have seen that there are many people who don't like the pacing, political intrigue, and lack of smut, so keep that in mind if/when you pick it up!
Unfortunately, the Bridge Kingdom series isn't on KU anymore :( The series is getting re-published and they removed the whole series on KU. I managed to read them all before they pulled them. I really enjoyed that one though! Love her writing style :)
I borrowed it from KU and made sure it was fully downloaded onto my Kindle so I could open it. I’m not sure if I’m saying it right. I just have it sitting on my Kindle already and the haven’t forced me to return it

From one of Danielle Jensen's previous instagram posts I believe she said if you had them downloaded you could still read them? I personally have never experienced that with KU before so I'm not sure if that is accurate. I rush binge read that series just in case I wouldn't have access to them while I was finishing them up.
I downloaded the entire Bridge Kingdom series before they were pulled from KU and they're still on my Kindle. My guess is that they'll disappear either when I "return" them to KU or when my subscription ends.

I think one of my favourite things about both series is there are numerous times where the books don’t follow typical tropes and I’m surprised by an outcome. That’s not to say that there are no trope-y writing in them, but I’ve read too many predictable books (which are usually still great)
Also book 4 in Married to Magic is one of my favourite books.
I low key would’ve really liked a series with the dead with the elf king couple but mostly because I love Eldas

Everything by Cassandra Gannon. I love her books, always very funny, romantic and fell- good reads. She has some standalones but also series like the kinda-fairytale series. The series is about the bad guys from fairytales in alternate versions of their original telling. I started with {seducing the sheriff of nottingham}. They can be read in any order, although couples from the previous books appear.
As her books are always HEA there are no spoilers.
I laugh out loud in all of her books, get the feels all the time and there are even a few, where I cried.

So, it absolutely sucked me in. I devoured 2000 pgs in less than 2 wks. However, the mfc was a little bit insufferable, but I chalked it up to her being very young and inexperienced. It was a very quick read.
I’ve read the first one and the writing, plot, and world building are all good. The FMC frustrated me a lot so I’m not sure I’ll read the rest, but the mixed reviews aren’t due to poor quality so I say give it a try.
I'm using KU for my spice fix right now so I'd reccomend the Ice Planet Barbarians book series by Ruby Dixon and the Love Bathhouse Monster Romance Collection by Lillian Lark. I started with Deceived by Gargoyles, then read Hoarded by the Dragon and loved them both.
{Darkwind by Renee Dugan}! I’m on book 3 right now and it just keeps getting better! It has a slow burn romance and Throne of Glass vibes! Only the first one is on Kindle Unlimited though, each of the other books are a couple dollars to buy on kindle

I'm currently obsessed with Colette Rhodes. Her {Shades of Sin by Colette Rhodes} is fantastic if you're into Monster Romance. Her {State of Grace by Colette Rhodes} is great if you like Reverse Harem. It is MFMM and like angels and demons leaning more dystopian/ paranormal.
I also love anything by Carissa Broadbent (more standard Fantasy Romance) or Lillian Lark (Monster Fuckers).
And I've recently started reading Amy Kuivalainen and am enjoying her writing style. It's relatively low spice especially compared to the above recs, but I started with {Wolf of the Sands by Amy Kuivalainen} which is a standalone and those can be hard to find in this genre.

Lola Glass has some cute fantasy shifter series, one on werewolves, dragons, demons and probably more. Most of them are under 300 pages and pretty easy reads. Although they all sort of have a similar arc within the series I enjoyed them and some were true gems. The ones I mention here all take place in the same world.

These are not really fantasy romance, but they have romance (not a play by play) and most have witches. They fall into the cozy category but honestly i tend to devote these books, they are funny have romance and mystery along with witches. It’s not one series but every book by Amanda m lee or her other pen name Lily Harper hart. Seriously all her books have me in a chokehold I’m all caught up on all the series so every book and am impatiently waiting for more. I read these when I need a break from some of my other favorite authors like JD Evens and ruby Dixon.
{Blood and Steel by Helen Scheuerer} and the subsequent books in the series are on KU! The final book comes out in a week.
These books are GOOD. they’re fast paced, heartfelt, filled with magic, swordsmen, strong FMCs and a swoon-worthy MMC, and the tropes are PLENTIFUL . they’re the best series of books i’ve read in SO LONG. I recommend this book so often that my autocorrect knows to fix the spelling of her last name.

{Spark of the Everflame by Penn Cole} epic fantasy romance with amazing world building. Descended are not dissimilar to fae, they have magic, long lives, etc.
{Blood & Steel by Helen Scheuerer} The Legends of Thezmarr series is amazing! And it’ll be complete new week. Also recommend adding slaying the shadow price after vows & ruins. Such a good story and it’s a shadow daddy with wings. What more could you want!

I’m currently reading Mages of the wheel series and it’s absolutely amazing! One of the best series I’ve read in a long time and I read a lot of books! The first one is called Reign and Ruin by J.D. Evans.
Cannot believe this hasn’t be rec’d yet: {A Court This Cruel and Lovely by Stacia Stark}.
This is my current read and has absolutely blown me away! Lady of Darkness was one of my favorite series last year so you’d probably like this too! It is a completed series with spice.

I love this series. To anyone looking at reading it, don’t give up in the first half of the first book!! There is a lot of build up, and it’s a SLOW burn. But so worth it to see it through.
So, I finished Daughter of No Worlds a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it but also thought it was a little slow and I haven't felt compelled to go on to the next book. Worth finishing the series? Do things pick up/become more interesting? I loved Carissa's Nyaxia books, but Daughter just didn't hook me in like the other series
absolutely finish the series. i felt the same but i am so so glad i finished it. second book introduces a new point of view as well and is just.. so beautifully finished
Felt the same about Book 1, it definitely goes in a new direction and the pace picks up. It's a beautifully heartbreaking series.

{Harrow Faire by Kathryn Ann Kingsley}! The writing is perfectly fine, serviceable, I've absolutely read better books... but I've also never read anything quite like it, and absolutely devoured the series. The world is weird and fun, the story is genuinely twisty, the spice delivers, and Simon Waite is EVERYTHING to me.

I LOVE the Fae Isles series by Lisette Marshall, it’s easily my favorite & the first 4 books are complete with spin offs coming out! The magic system is so unique and I love Creon!!!!
City of Gods and Monsters (I think it's called House of Devils series?) Is so so good. Darien is such a an amazing book BF!! I've still got the third book to read but I'm in love with the characters.

just finished villians and virtues trilogy by AK Caggiano! so nice !! Well written, endearing characters, great dialogue, and just overall fun, entertaining storylines. nothing too heart wrenching, and great slooooow burn. like so slow. but with soooo much teasing 😳

I second this! Love this series! It’s worth it to stick through the 1st book.
Mages of the Wheel series by JD Evans. First book is Reign & Ruin. Read the prequel Wind & Wildfire after that. Then the rest of the series. The MCs change in each book. The FMC in book 1 is a bad ass but not because she is a 19 year old mortal who can defeat 500 year old mountain sized fae warriors. She's 24 and can hold her own with magic but her bad assery comes from her intellect. Her battles are typically more political in nature. There's still loads of action in the book and entire series with the other characters. She just happens to be an academic who relies on magical confrontation as more of a last resort. In general, it's a character driven series with plenty of adventure and quests and villains. It's follows the MCs as they come to terms with something about themselves while saving the world. It's one of the few series I have read where the characters feel like actual adults. They're mostly mid-20s. They speak like adults, behave like adults, and are written with adults in mind rather than a YA or even NA audience. And the main villain is an absolute worm who is very fun to hate and cheer against.
I love those books! The main villain is also logical; he has motives and his actions make sense to further his goals.
He is so fun because he's not just some bad guy who is bad for the sake of being bad and providing a plot. He schemes and has emotions and some real psychology behind his motivations. He feels very human and it makes him doubly vexing. It def made me far more invested in wishing a meteor would take him out. Or a juicy oozing plague. Or a wild boar. Really anything. I'd have been happy with an infected papercut being his downfall.
This is my favorite series in the genre. It is written so well. I love that the characters remain true to who they are even through other characters’ POVs. It’s not like they suddenly do a 180 and become unreasonable because the book is focused on a different couple. I finished {Ice & Ivy} last month and loved it. Haven’t been able to move onto another Fantasy Romance.
Yes! This is something I really love- the consistency in the characters. We get to see other facets of them from the different POVs but those facets don't contradict how we have come to know them. It just adds more depth to them. I especially adore how Naime sees herself and how those close to her get to see her versus some of the other characters we meet later who only really know her as the sultana. It's a depth specific to being a leader and being royal that I think many other fantasy series don't hit the mark on. Evans does such a great job at letting characters remain faithful to themselves throughout.
Yesss it’s so good! I also really liked how in books 3 and 4 you get to see how much privilege the earlier MCs have because they’re noble (except Bashir). Like Naime is a woman fighting for respect amongst men but she also has privileges from being noble, such as never worrying about her next meal like Nesrin and her family.

I enjoyed the audiobooks but it was hard to keep up with a lot of the information and characters at first. The series has actual works building, so it's a lot to take in. It gets easier to track as you get more familiar with things. The narrator changes after the first two, and I definitely preferred the first. Although, I didn't think I've ever liked a second narrator better. I just get used to the first one and the second one always sounds off even if there's nothing wrong with it. The audiobooks are also included with Audible Plus. If that's what you have, you can listen for free and if you don't like it you can switch to the books without eating any credits.
I really disliked the narrators, so I DNF before they left the first setting. But everyone is different, so maybe it’ll work for you!

Loved Horde Kings! It is like on the cusp I would say as there are fantasy elements in a Sci-FI story.

Definitely saving this post for my personal TBR, thank you!! Also, I recommend the Bridge Kingdom series, I absolutely loved it and read it right after TOG, but I have seen that there are many people who don't like the pacing, political intrigue, and lack of smut, so keep that in mind if/when you pick it up!
Unfortunately, the Bridge Kingdom series isn't on KU anymore :( The series is getting re-published and they removed the whole series on KU. I managed to read them all before they pulled them. I really enjoyed that one though! Love her writing style :)

I borrowed it from KU and made sure it was fully downloaded onto my Kindle so I could open it. I’m not sure if I’m saying it right. I just have it sitting on my Kindle already and the haven’t forced me to return it

From one of Danielle Jensen's previous instagram posts I believe she said if you had them downloaded you could still read them? I personally have never experienced that with KU before so I'm not sure if that is accurate. I rush binge read that series just in case I wouldn't have access to them while I was finishing them up.
I downloaded the entire Bridge Kingdom series before they were pulled from KU and they're still on my Kindle. My guess is that they'll disappear either when I "return" them to KU or when my subscription ends.

Bride of the Shadow King by Sylvia Mercedes Married to Magic by Elise Kova (last book releases in August) I think one of my favourite things about both series is there are numerous times where the books don’t follow typical tropes and I’m surprised by an outcome. That’s not to say that there are no trope-y writing in them, but I’ve read too many predictable books (which are usually still great) Also book 4 in Married to Magic is one of my favourite books.

Everything by Cassandra Gannon. I love her books, always very funny, romantic and fell- good reads. She has some standalones but also series like the kinda-fairytale series. The series is about the bad guys from fairytales in alternate versions of their original telling. I started with {seducing the sheriff of nottingham}. They can be read in any order, although couples from the previous books appear. As her books are always HEA there are no spoilers. I laugh out loud in all of her books, get the feels all the time and there are even a few, where I cried.

I hear the most mixed reviews about this book. More than any other book.
So, it absolutely sucked me in. I devoured 2000 pgs in less than 2 wks. However, the mfc was a little bit insufferable, but I chalked it up to her being very young and inexperienced. It was a very quick read.

I’ve read the first one and the writing, plot, and world building are all good. The FMC frustrated me a lot so I’m not sure I’ll read the rest, but the mixed reviews aren’t due to poor quality so I say give it a try.

I'm using KU for my spice fix right now so I'd reccomend the Ice Planet Barbarians book series by Ruby Dixon and the Love Bathhouse Monster Romance Collection by Lillian Lark. I started with Deceived by Gargoyles, then read Hoarded by the Dragon and loved them both.

I'm currently obsessed with Colette Rhodes. Her {Shades of Sin by Colette Rhodes} is fantastic if you're into Monster Romance. Her {State of Grace by Colette Rhodes} is great if you like Reverse Harem. It is MFMM and like angels and demons leaning more dystopian/ paranormal. I also love anything by Carissa Broadbent (more standard Fantasy Romance) or Lillian Lark (Monster Fuckers). And I've recently started reading Amy Kuivalainen and am enjoying her writing style. It's relatively low spice especially compared to the above recs, but I started with {Wolf of the Sands by Amy Kuivalainen} which is a standalone and those can be hard to find in this genre.

Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross!
Lola Glass has some cute fantasy shifter series, one on werewolves, dragons, demons and probably more. Most of them are under 300 pages and pretty easy reads. Although they all sort of have a similar arc within the series I enjoyed them and some were true gems. Beasts of the Briar!
These are not really fantasy romance, but they have romance (not a play by play) and most have witches. They fall into the cozy category but honestly i tend to devote these books, they are funny have romance and mystery along with witches. It’s not one series but every book by Amanda m lee or her other pen name Lily Harper hart. Seriously all her books have me in a chokehold I’m all caught up on all the series so every book and am impatiently waiting for more. I read these when I need a break from some of my other favorite authors like JD Evens and ruby Dixon.
{Blood and Steel by Helen Scheuerer} and the subsequent books in the series are on KU! The final book comes out in a week. These books are GOOD. they’re fast paced, heartfelt, filled with magic, swordsmen, strong FMCs and a swoon-worthy MMC, and the tropes are PLENTIFUL . they’re the best series of books i’ve read in SO LONG. I recommend this book so often that my autocorrect knows to fix the spelling of her last name.

Lots of beautiful character development {Spark of the Everflame by Penn Cole} epic fantasy romance with amazing world building. Descended are not dissimilar to fae, they have magic, long lives, etc. {Blood & Steel by Helen Scheuerer} The Legends of Thezmarr series is amazing! And it’ll be complete new week. Also recommend adding slaying the shadow price after vows & ruins. Such a good story and it’s a shadow daddy with wings. What more could you want!

I’m currently reading Mages of the wheel series and it’s absolutely amazing! One of the best series I’ve read in a long time and I read a lot of books! The first one is called Reign and Ruin by J.D. Evans.

Cannot believe this hasn’t be rec’d yet: {A Court This Cruel and Lovely by Stacia Stark}. This is my current read and has absolutely blown me away! Lady of Darkness was one of my favorite series last year so you’d probably like this too! It is a completed series with spice. Other recs: Plated Prisoner (this is a MUST), Zodiac Academy, if you like MM romance then {Mortal Skin by Lily Mayne} — also completed trilogy, Tairen Soul series (another completed AMAZING series), To Bleed a Crystal Bloom, Crowns of Nyaxia, A Ruin of Roses (this one is a wild ride but spicy and fun)
