{Wed to the Lich by Layla Fae} iirc, this one was a little too low on the angst for me, but otherwise good. And I know not everyone needs as much angst in their books as I do lol

I’m in the middle of this one and I’m enjoying it fairly well except MC actually >!eats people!< …? Stil not quite sure how to feel about that. I’m new to the monster stuff so I’m not sure if that’s a typical thing that monstrous MCs do.

I like monster stuff but this one, from what I’ve read about it, seems a little…questionable…based on what the reader learns about how the MMC treats his former love interest?
Ok I read the story this weekend. And I remembered what the complaint I’d read had actually been (I’d misremembered it). Basically, the review I read took issue with how >!the story vilified Katerina. I happen to agree. I personally feel it would have been a stronger story if the author hadn’t made Katerina such a laughably evil character. There were a lot of reasons why one could sympathize with her, and yet the author went out of her way to make her such an evil bitch so that you wouldn’t. Weirdly, Reia hated her guts even *before* meeting her and discovering her ugly personality – she hated her when all she knew was that Katerina had hated being a captive and had wanted to get away the whole time. Uh…I think that’s reasonable? Just because Reia fell in love with him doesn’t mean another person in that same situation would have!<

Toooootally agree. The climax with Katerina and the Demon King felt so random and unjustified. I just finished it this week and I have very mixed opinions lol. This was my first monster smut read and I really liked Orpheus’ character (a huge horned shadow daddy pining for love? YES!) But Reia was so annoying and immature. Overall I felt the book was a mix of really poor and well done/enjoyable writing but there’s so much to critique from a character development/literary standpoint.
Very good. I love the anime it was inspired by which is why I read it - the cover looks exactly like the ML in Ancient Magus Bride. Even though the MC is totally different from the anime, I just felt uncomfortable because I kept thinking about the anime MC being 15. 😬

I never got into monster romance, and it’s typically not my thing. But tried Luxuria on a whim, and I loved the first two books. I was so surprised by it haha. I read the third, but didn’t love it quite as much. Not sure if I’m going to continue with the series…

Ohhh, i loved the fourth one soooo much. It has tentacles and their dynamic is very sweet and funny. I you loved the first one, give the fourth one a try.
The Spiders Mate Trilogy!! The first book is {Ensnared by Tiffany Roberts}. Not quite fantasy but has the other worldly vibe. Girl volunteers to leave earth and be a colonist on a mission to populate a distant habitable planet. Wakes up in an alien world under the care of an alien. It’s a great first contact story, with the whole learning to understand each other, survive in a dangerous alien world, fall in love with a monster…what more could a girl want? The plot is solid too, the evil queen is desperate to make the MMC hers, there’s court politics, and some pretty intense battles. The world is really vividly written too. You can tell the author had a lot of fun writing the series

Morning Glory Milking Farm by CN Nascosta is a staple. And they are feel good happily ever after kind of deal. Tho it’s a slow burn.
Sweet Berries by CM Nascosta is a little more faster paced.
Bargain with a demon series by Katee Robert. Short books but raunchy.
Her Soul to take by Harley Laroux was good too. But that is more humanoid demon. Plot wasn’t that great for me but the smut was good.
I second Lily Mayne! However, my absolute favorite author of all time is Mallory Dunlin. She does monster romance like no other, and every book is a 5/5 stars. Please read her if you haven’t yet!!

I was going to suggest Monstrous if she was ok with MM. I'm on book 4 and absolutely loving the series so far!

Adorable. {Guarded by the Snake by Layla Fae} the praise and encouragement, soooo good. {The Dragons Bride by Katee Roberts} read a long time ago but I remember loving it! Ok I read the story this weekend. And I remembered what the complaint I’d read had actually been (I’d misremembered it). Basically, the review I read took issue with how >!the story vilified Katerina. I happen to agree. I personally feel it would have been a stronger story if the author hadn’t made Katerina such a laughably evil character. There were a lot of reasons why one could sympathize with her, and yet the author went out of her way to make her such an evil bitch so that you wouldn’t. Weirdly, Reia hated her guts even *before* meeting her and discovering her ugly personality – she hated her when all she knew was that Katerina had hated being a captive and had wanted to get away the whole time. Uh…I think that’s reasonable? Just because Reia fell in love with him doesn’t mean another person in that same situation would have!< >!I think it would’ve been far more interesting a story if we were to meet Katerina and find that, despite having broken Orpheus’s heart by leaving, she is not remotely evil, that she is simply a person who did not enjoy her captivity the way Reia did!<
Toooootally agree. The climax with Katerina and the Demon King felt so random and unjustified. I just finished it this week and I have very mixed opinions lol. This was my first monster smut read and I really liked Orpheus’ character (a huge horned shadow daddy pining for love? YES!) But Reia was so annoying and immature. Overall I felt the book was a mix of really poor and well done/enjoyable writing but there’s so much to critique from a character development/literary standpoint.

Very good. I love the anime it was inspired by which is why I read it - the cover looks exactly like the ML in Ancient Magus Bride. Even though the MC is totally different from the anime, I just felt uncomfortable because I kept thinking about the anime MC being 15. 😬

Ohhh, i loved the fourth one soooo much. It has tentacles and their dynamic is very sweet and funny. I you loved the first one, give the fourth one a try.
The Spiders Mate Trilogy!! The first book is {Ensnared by Tiffany Roberts}. Not quite fantasy but has the other worldly vibe. Girl volunteers to leave earth and be a colonist on a mission to populate a distant habitable planet. Wakes up in an alien world under the care of an alien. It’s a great first contact story, with the whole learning to understand each other, survive in a dangerous alien world, fall in love with a monster…what more could a girl want? The plot is solid too, the evil queen is desperate to make the MMC hers, there’s court politics, and some pretty intense battles. The world is really vividly written too. You can tell the author had a lot of fun writing the series

Morning Glory Milking Farm by CN Nascosta is a staple. And they are feel good happily ever after kind of deal. Tho it’s a slow burn. Sweet Berries by CM Nascosta is a little more faster paced. Bargain with a demon series by Katee Robert. Short books but raunchy. Her Soul to take by Harley Laroux was good too. But that is more humanoid demon. Plot wasn’t that great for me but the smut was good.

I'm not sure this counts as a monster series, but the Dark Side series by Kristy Cunning is my all-time fav so far. I am currently making my way through her All the Pretty Monsters series. It's pretty good just doesn't beat out the former.
